I think most of the comments here are criticizing the new direction the show has taken regarding delena and silus as a new villian to the show. But for me personally, I'm enjoying these new events. It's a vampire show, people are bound to die. This is inevitable. I mean I was devastated when Jenna died, when Alaric died, and when Jeremy died but these deaths doesn't change the way I feel about the show. Honestly, I'm hoping for a Stelena comeback but after Stefan is in control of his "ripper" mode and with Elena breaking free from the Sire bond! It's not that I don't like Delena but I loved Stelena and miss them! And although I know Paul Wesely likes the "Ripper" better, I liked him when he was in "control" or rather repressing the ripper in him. I think the show is going into a great direction in terms of allowing their audiences to see the growth of all the characters on the show and especially Damon and Stefan. The two brothers struggle with their own demons and this entire craziness regarding the "cure," Silus, the originals are all part of their struggles to discover their own happiness. Soooo I'm fine with where the show is going and I'm just really really excited for this season and the next and the next because the writers are obviously building a lot more crazy regarding Silus the new villian or whatnot. Oh, and as for the Originals leaving the show, I mean I love them being on the show and all, especially with the idea of Klaus and Caroline getting together which I don't think will happen anytime soon but, I don't think we'll see them go so soon. There is still more to anticipate from them probably and remember that the originals came into the picture competely during the 3rd season and for the first two seasons the show did fine without all of them so I don't think there's anything to worry about in terms of the being over cause' that's just plain hate. But overall, I can't wait for Stelena's comeback which I hope will happen somehow like Bonnie can cast a spell or some witch or warlock or even silus to break the sire bond and allow her to truly make the choice for herself! And I know Damon wants that as well in the show.. Love Ian and Nina though :) And I read somewhere that the show should be cut short like to around 7 seasons.. and I think that people are limiting the show to just the love triangle. However, the show can go into all sorts of directions that we could never predict and the show is not ALL about the love triangle, although it plays a huge part in almost every episode, I personally feel like it's about the individual characters and their personal journeys so I don't think anyone should be judging yet regarding the limit of how long this show can go on. I personally want this show to go on for a very long time, 10 seasons? Too long? Grey's Anatomy's doing it and it's through their fans, so the cast had mentioned.. So, it'll depend on how stimulated the viewers are with the plots. Y'all can disagree with me but is there anyone who feels somewhat the same as me?
