The baby might be a hybrid like it's father and a witch/warlock because klau's mother was a witch
The Originals were made Originals through magic, not bloodline. I don't see your logic how the baby would be an original, let alone a vampire considering it's Klaus's wolf side that made Hayley pregnant, not his vampire/original side.
I think the baby might be a werewolf/witch hybrid;;;a werewolf ;;;a hybrid or a witch
1.werewolf/witch because both of the parents have a werewolf blood line and Esther was a witch 2.hybrid because Klaus is the Original Hybrid 3.witch because Esther was a witch
I think their baby could be born a dhampir (klaus being part vampire, baby could get some vamp traits). But gain witch/ warlock powers when they become a teenager (Bonnie became a witch as a teen) because Klaus was technically a witch/ dormet werewolf before he became a vampire. Now if the baby was a dhampir and the rules of witches and vampires still applies their would be no witch traits active. However the baby will definitely have a werewolf side (Klaus being a werewolf-vampire hybrid and Hayley a pureblood werewolf), but the trait will remain dormant until they kill someone. So if they are a dhampir that gets witch powers and then becomes a werewolf, their child could be the first ever dhampir/witch/werewolf hybrid.
Also a dhampir is the offspring of a vampire and a mortal (humans, witches and werewolves: all mortal).
The baby might be a witch-werewolf hybrid
it definitely wont be a vampire/witch/warlock hybrid because a vampire is an abomination to nature whereas witches/warlocks are servants to nature because Abby - Bonnies Mum - Was a witch who died with vampire blood in her system and came back a vampire. Ester then later quotes "You must be a witch or a vampire never both". so im SUPERRRR excited for the new Klayley baby!!!!!!!!
I don't think the baby will be born as a Vampire because to turn into a vampire u need to go through all those stages so i dunno.. but i think it will have the werewolf gene and maybe the witch/warlock gene too, but if the baby kills someone the witch side dies just like if you turn into a vampire...
Werewolf is a CURSE, not a gene....
It's hereditary which basically makes it a gene too. I'm not sure how scientific TVD actually want to be in essence, magic aside, both vampirism and werewolf curse seem to change your DNA so this would qualify as a gene too, the difference being that vampires can't procreate so they can't pass their DNA along.
Katherine mentioned something about werewolf gene when she and Stefan was talking about the Lockwoods in season 2 episode 4, Memory Lane.
Not everything that is hereditary is a gene, and many genetic characteristics are defined by several genes. As an example, something relatively simple as eye color in humans are defined by 6 gene pairs - that is what generates the variety of eye colors that we know and love - honey, hazelnut, blue, green, brown, black and all the combinations in between.
Something as complex as a werewolf transformation cannot possibly be determined by ONE gene. Even if it was, each gene can be dominant or recessive, so there are 3 possible combinations for each gene, producing at least 3 potential different fenotypes (AA, Aa, aa).
If lycantropism was a gene, there would be potentially 3 different expressions - Werewolf, half-werewolf , not werewolf. The magic folk from Harry Potter seems to follow this rule more closely, as you have magic folk, muggles (non-magic) and squibs (children of magic folk with limited or no magic at all - but even that is fickle)
But it seems that all descentants of werewolves are potentially werewolves.
Werewolf in TDV universe is a family curse. Somebody and all their descentands were cursed, for some reason I hope we learn someday. Generational curses are mentioned even in the Bible
One is born with their DNA. You inherit one of each DNA pairs from your father and your mother. A copy of them is in every single of your cells - but in each cell only the genes necessary for that cell's form and fuction are active. All the other are dormant.
Although it is theoretically possible to change the DNA somebody was born with, it has not been achieved so far, and poses considerable challenge.
Scientists are trying to engineer nanobots that act as virus that would deliver the new code to all the cells of a certain organ. That would be useful, for example, to teach pancreas cells in diabetic people to produce insulin - but we are FAR AWAY from these.
I don't believe that either Vampirism or Licantropism in TVD is genetic - even if characters mentioned that it is. I have seen absolutely no evidence of this.
What do you think?
