You know how normal vampires and hybrids can be killed in this way, it says that Klaus can only be killed by the WOS. But surely if his head or heart is removed he would die? And if not, what would happen?

The small details can be very distracting and annoying. Yea it has been stated that they cannot be killed, yet can be killed by a magical rare wooden stake, which contradicts being unkillable.
Why would someone so power hungry and powerful want with a small plot a land, when they could own a continent or the world? Genghis khan, Alexander the great, to even Al Capone, have shown a greater accomplishment of obtaining power, land, army of followers in a very short time period considering they life line is very small in comparison.
Yea I get it is a supernatural show, but at lets not be vague on details that is a major point for them to stand out. It makes for a very boring character with no weakness.

But not even Klaus is that power hungry, he merely wants to power so he can do what he wants without anyone getting in the way and of course enough to not feel helpless and able to survive and protect his family. Anymore than that is a wasted effort and the enemies he attract without even reaching that, what do you think would happen if he tried to take over a country, a contentinent or even the world? Witches would most definitely unite and offer someone just to get him killed since the one witch that dies as a sacrifice will save thousands if not millions considering Klaus is ageless.
And they aren't unkillable, their bodies are indestructible apart from the stake or magic, that's the difference between them and the Immortality Silas and Amara had.
So, Gia can stick her hand through Elijah's rib cage and grab his heart, but Stefan couldn't break through Klaus's ribcage, nor could Klaus get through Alaric's.
Praise the writers...sigh*
Alaric was stopping Klaus' hand but then again I don't think Klaus or Stefan were actually trying to grab the heart, merely touch a vein or artery etc.
It certainly looked like they were though, that's why I'm annoyed, haha.
LOL well this is why I have viewed the Originals as invincible rather than indestructible because from my point of view at least, a true indestructible being should not be harmed in any manner at all. I know before you mentioned how their bodies can be broken and wounded but never dismembered due to magic etc.
Inconsistency seems to be a favourite hobby for the writers.
I think of Original Vampires like the souls from Supernatural.
I know, it's extremely frustrating.
What episode?
Well, considering we know that they have always been able to crush through the rib cage (remember season 2 episode 8 when we first saw an Original, Damon killed Elijah with a wooden stake even if it was temporarily) I wasn't too surprised by this, she would not have been able to pull out the heart however (at least I hope not..).

S3xE21
I'm only talking about the times when they've tried to break through with their bare hands.
I hope so too, lol.
It's possible to break through their chest or ribcage, but I believe it's suppose to be physically impossible to remove the heart.
