Think about it, if Stephan is Silas' doppelgänger, then they must share the same bloodline like Katherine and Elena do. If Silas was a witch (warlock) before he was turned into the the first vampire/immortal, and the ability to practice witchcraft runs in the family, wouldn't Giuseppe, Damon, and Stephan Salvatore be witches (warlocks) as humans? You might say that their powers may have not been "activated" much like Bonnie's prior to the pilot episode of season one. However, Bonnie was at least 16 (if not 17) at the time. Stephan and Damon were turned into vampires at the approximate ages of 17 and 24. Shouldn't their powers have been "activated" by then? If not Stephan's, shouldn't Damon's have?
I think it's a large possibility that witchcraft may run in their family and it's possible they will have to do some detective work to find out (god, I love it when Damon is in detective mode, it's awesome) but I doubt either of them would be witches/warlocks as that would just weaken their characters. I would find it far more interesting if their mother, not necessarily a witch, knew about supernatural phenomenon long before Katherine came to Mystic Falls.
Ugh, so much YES! I especially agree about loving Detective Damon! I love that, too! :) I would almost think that their mother had to have known about supernatural phenomenon before Katherine...she died when they were young, so maybe she died due to the supernatural, and that is why their father, Giuseppe, railed so hard against it. He shot his own two sons in the chest for being "Vampire Sympathizers" and he tried to kill Stefan after he came to Giuseppe after he was thought dead...the night he fed on his father and completed the transition. Giuseppe had a rigid prejudice against all of that stuff.
The reason Damon knows about witches is because he probably tried to seek out help to find Katherine. Remember Charlotte who was sired to him in the 1940s? He killed 12 humans so a witch could utilize it for expression, there's probably more times similar things have happened but connected to the fact he wanted to open the tomb with Katherine. I also think Damon despises witches because he doesn't like it when somebody can control his life (he's a damn control freak for being so unserious and laid back person) not to mention a powerful witch could acquire things they want in life easier and that's just another reminder that Damon will never be human again.
Despite the fanfiction I'm going to stick with what I know and IF they are related it's probably Nature took their powers, they didn't know so they didn't practice witchcraft, or agic isn't inherited by EVERYONE so your sister could be witch and you may not and that could happen to entire families for generations but that's sppeculaion as well.
You know, now that I read the Origins of Stefan's Diaries last year. I think, it could possibly happen now. When Mama Salvatore had Stefan, she died giving birth to him. Giuseppe never knew why? In the series, in this case now. This may be the cause that Silas's curse as Stefan's doppleganger affected her in some way and when she died, Damon never forgave Giuseppe for not helping her. Damon was close with his mother, estranged from his father. Their mother adored both, but was concerned that one of her sons would have the curse of Silas in them. I wonder, if she knew Giuseppe was a warlock, bcos their mother was a witch too. It was fate that brought them together, yet she knew Giuseppe was dormant about his abilities. I still think, that when he had an affair with that maid of his. She found out that this maid was pregnant with his son, S/Ds half brother and that's when Mrs. S showed her true colors to Giuseppe as been a witch. He didn't understand, she would never hurt him, so when it came to that point, she might have left MFs.
So, Giuseppe told D/S that she died in a fire, hence witches are burned at the stake. I wonder, if she's still alive. I would love to see Julie Plec bring in more about the Salvatore's now, since Silas is related to them. We coulld finally know more about their mother as a witch. I'd love to see if she was alive and comes to MF, after hearng Silas is alive. She goes back to MF after over half a century been on the run, yet has been back and forth throughout the years D/S were vamps. She couldve been the one who provided the Boarding House with vervain after The First Founders all died and their descendants took over the Founder's Council. Kinda makes you think, if Mrs. S knows about the history of The Salvatore Bloodline more than we realise, since they met in France.
How romantic and original, but a classic. I'm guessing Silas is a Salvatore, Guiseppe will probably be seen in flashbacks, also probably his other unnamed son, their half brother could probably be a warlock, if he got the gene from Giuseppe. Makes sense now. Their 1/2 little bro, Zachariah, Joseph, and Zach were secretly warlocks practicing magic behind closed doors when D/S were in MF off and on.. or maybe Zach never activated his abilities, or he did, but learnt how to control his powers towards Damon. Since Silas can make illusions seem like reality. I wonder, if Zach did the same thing when he was killed by Damon. I wonder, if he's not actually dead. Bcos it's Silas's lineage. We still don't know about how Silas can die, or if he could die as a warlock. If he did, he could just wake up and just walk away. I wonder, if Giuseppe had other siblings who never told him what he was, but other witches/warlocks knew what he was and just never told him about his abilities. I wonder, if Silas' true love was human but had a child who had carried on the bloodline of Silas' abilities as a warlock/witch and Salvatore descendants.
I can't wait to see how this ALL pans out, finally more Salvatore history. James Remar will probably return as Giuseppe again, we'll probably find out their mother and their half-brother too. I also thought, Giuseppe had a secret to why he truly started the Founders to get rid of vampires. Kinda makes you think, if he did know about his lineage, history, whatever you wanna call it. It would explain of how Mrs. S would fear that Stefan should have never been a vampire, bcos she might have known Silas' was his ripper side. *hint hint hint* XD I could see her popping up in the Present Day, since Kat is human now, thanx to Elena. She can finally kill Kat for turning her sons into vampires. She arrives in MF and Damon recognises her, but not Stefan. Becos doesn't know who this woman is, but realises she is D/S's mother, yet he does sense she is a witch. Stefan barely knew her face, but Damon would. But the moment, she realises something is off about Stefan, she realised that Silas is impersonating Stefan and freaks the moment she shakes his hand, gets a bad vibe as witches do when theyve met vamps who have lost their emotions. I wonder, if she was at The Mikaelson Ball and saw what Damon did to Kol and realised how evil he was XD
Kinda makes you think, how pissed she was when Esther tried to kill her sons. Oooo, that Original Witch. Thank god, that witch is dead. I'm so happy it was Kol and not Esther, but it wouldve been nice if Mikael was in the finale, though, he only 3 eps, while Esther had more than Mikael. He died off too soon, it wasn't fair. Elijah never got to see his father, neither did Finn/Kol, only Rebekah and Klaus did. Curse the Original Three. I blame Klaus, it's always his fault, now its time for him to change his life around w/ Hayley. Man, Forwoods back on now, so bummed about Klaroline staying as a friendship. Can't wait to Care Bear hears Hayley hearing through Rebekah that Klaus got her preggo. So does that mean, can Forwood have babies too, like they do in the books. If Caroline found a way to be human again. I wonder, if Mrs. S found a way to make another cure, using the blood of a Bennett/Salvatore line (besides Bonnie, since she dead and D/S are vamps), would be interesting to see, since Tyler was his first and only living hybrid of his line still alive. Tyler could get Care Bear preggo too, if JP made it happen. YAY! Forwood finally happen, just like the books.
Yeah, I always wondered if Rebekah was a witch before Esther turned her considering Esther would have known but maybe didn't tell her for some reason or the writers didn't think it was important so just skipped it.
Well...basically..they share the same bloodline as Silas..
they could be warlocks as humans..
but it depends..
if the writers want them to be warlocks as humans they'll be..
The writers mentioned that they would be going deeper into the Salvatore family history, so I think that had they not become vampires, Stefan and Damon would more than likely have been witches. Or warlocks. Whatever.
They should have explored or even mentioned Stefan or Damon or even possibly Lily as having witch capabilities.
What do you think?
