The 2011 timeline is kinda messed up, because shouldn't the prom be in late april , or may not in feb? Plus bonnie died bringing jeremy back the day before graduation, which is in early june not in feb.

Heres the show timeline (season1) sept2009-feb2010, (season2) feb2010-may2010, (season3)august2010-october2010,(season4)october 2010-june2011.
I think perhaps there could be a much larger time jump between the first and second episode of season 4 than we think, in our timeline we say its been a week, perhaps it could of been at least 3 weeks, maybe more time passes after Elena burnt her house down, to like 1-2 weeks. Not that it will make the timeline any less better.
You could be right, twice! There could be more time between these episodes, and this still does not fix the timeline!
Actually I was just thinking perhaps we could go back and look at season 3, so perhaps we could make changes, so maybe season 4 events start much later than they do, still doesn't solve the issue of xmas and new year, but perhaps this way, we can slighly alter after school special to happening later than early Janaury.
I agree it doesn't solve the issues. Graduation in June is really what stuffs things up, since season 2 ends well before the school year ends.
Maybe we should ignore the character's comments about things happening "yesterday" and just put the halloween episode in (or close to) 31 October, Chistmas close to 24 Dec and so forth.
The timeline will only "work" if each episode is on a different month. I haven't calculated it, but it's my gut feeling that for this season this will be the better fit.
Ok, that is an exageration. Maybe one episode per week, if we pin Christmas in December, would bring graduation to the end of May or early June (when IS graduation in the US???)
What do you think?
I agree with this, but yes true its hard to work out.
I think Graduation is in June, but I did research and Virgina schools end between June 10-20, so I say go with the earliest date. Maybe Friday June 10, 2011.
I thought about editing season 3 aswell, and looked up on google that Homecoming occurs in USA end of September and October. So I decided to alter season 3's timeline to adjust dates; heres what I did so far:
September 6, 2010 - ("Smells Like Teen Spirit") school year starts
September 7, 2010 - ("Ghost World")
September 15, 2010 - ("Ordinary People") time could have passed so I decided to say it did, lets say Stefan was locked up for a week more.
September 17, 2010 - .("Homecoming") Homecoming occurs
No time stamp. Weeks could have passed.
The morning after Damon and Rebekah spent the night together. It's the full moon. The full moon on October 23, 2010, 03:36 am [2]Rebekah and Damon *("All My Children")
Probably the next day after Alaric was shot.
It could of been days since Caroline and Bonnie helped Abby adjust so lets say time passed.
Damon wakes Alaric up the following morning, so its the following morning. 'Elena asks if there were no issues "last night" - so its the same day from the end of the previous episode as well. Caroline is in Abby's garden in the morning at the end of the previous episode.
Alaric has been kept in a dungeon for at least two days. Maybe three.
The 20's Decade Dance occurs on a Friday night.
Early morning next day after the dance, Alaric holed out at the school.
NOTE: It's the same night from Elena passing out, Meredith says that Jeremy took Elena to the Hospital "earlier tonight." After the council meeting with Alaric outing Caroline and Tyler, Sheriff Forbes and Carol Lockwood waited for Caroline and Tyler to come home.
NOTE: It's the morning after the accident. Elena mentions the accident happened "last night".
Damon mentions Elena hasn’t been able to keep blood down for days, so some time has passed since the previous episode. Memorial Service would off occur on the weekend at Church. ("Memorial")
Since the memorial service occurred on the weekend, and Elena is a vampire for twoweek, Elena took a few week off school to adjust and returns fresh on a Monday.
Elena tells Stefan that "last night" she almost killed Matt feeding on him.
Damon thinks Elena told Stefan about their bloody dance at the Murder House, last night.
Elena is mad with Stefan for what happened "last night".
It's Saturday. Caroline is making arrangements for Miss Mystic Falls Pageant that will happen next day. Some time has passed aswell since last episode.
It's Sunday, the day of the Pageant.
It's Monday, a school day. Damon and Elena wake up together, and so do Stefan and Caroline.
[4]It's the following morning. Elena is cleaning the mess from the girl's night.
time jump to January.
[5]A few weeks has passed since Carol died and got buried, New year has already occurred and everyone is back at school after the holiday break.
The memorial occurred on a Sunday, and everyone is at school again, so it's a new day now, and some time has passed perhaps within the episode itself from the memorial to the events occuring later.
I havent worked out the rest of season 4 yet in detail, but if the full moon spell Bonnie put Klaus, lets say it occurs in February 18 February 2011, 09:35:42 am according to research. Also after they get Jeremy's tattoo lets say they dont just jump on a plane to the island, they must study it and stuff, so maybe theres a few weeks passed between the end of a view to kill and into the wild, since Caroline and Tyler also are back in the loop on everything after being MIA for 2 episodes, so makes sense.
February, 2011 can close with Jeremy's death, and a time jump to bring it on in March with Elena. Elena kills the waitress at the end of March, then theres a time jump to Prom, so lets make it end of April. Then push all the events of the rest of season 4 in May and early June.
Kudos to you, I guess it works!
You might have fixed the mess the writers have done with this season!
Unfortunately I have not been able to work as much this year as I did last year. Real life is interfeering with my virtual life!
Thanks :)
I have managed to fix the mess they created this season, I think graduation occuring in June is what really stuffed things up, since season 1/2 could end nicely during April. I guess we can expect season 5 and 6 to be about the first year of college, but tbh I would like the show to do more time jumps, but I dont think they really are good at figuring that out. Would be nice if season 6 or 7 has a 2-3 year time jump so the show can return to real life.
Thats okay I understand.
Yes, it would be really nice if they accelerated a bit, but I don't think they would manage to bring it all the way to current date - unless they jump a year or two during the break it won't happen. And with The Originals roling during the break, I guess it wont happen!
Thanks for understanding!
Thats true
thats ok :)
