Hey y'all I live in the Quarter of New Orleans and am trying to figure out if they are filiming in a real bar for Rousseau's or just outside one - or if it's just a set. I've been looking around but haven't found it - anyone have any ideas?

The pilot episode was in actual New Orleans but for most of the series, it is filmed in Georgia. Like Vampire Diaries. It will be just a set, like the Mystic Grill, non-existant in real life.
Sorry, not K Paul's ... Napoleon House Bar and Cafe.
I'm sorry but I have been to Covington, Georgia, have actually been inside of the Mystic Grill and can say that is most definitely real
I'm pretty sure that Rousseau's is made up building in The Originals because if you think about in a photo i took of Rousseau's from an episode it has the sign in a close up and The Original Pierre Maspero's very close behind it like it is the building next to it. I may be wrong but i've been trying to find the restaurant bulding for ages and I did have an idea of it being Napolean House.
As someone posted above, I'm pretty sure they used The Napoleon House for both interior and exterior shots in the early years of the show. The shots they use now look more like a set, however.
I say this having lived in New Orleans for 35 years; part of that living and working in the French Quarter. I worked as a licensed tour guide for several years and I wrote The Complete Idiot's Travel Guide to New Orleans back in 1997. Of course, it is long out of date now.
Among other things, I drove a mule-drawn carriage through the French Quarter giving historical tours and also drove a taxi for United Cab Company; a New Orleans institution. While working for United Cab, I specialized in working in the Quarter giving rides to the bar tenders, wait staff and other Quarter Rats.
I've not only been in the Napoleon House many times, but I've gone past it thousands of times while living and working in the Quarter. I wish I could be positive but I moved away from New Orleans about 15 years ago. Like the "Old Grey Mare," my memory "ain't what it used to be" either. If I still lived there, I'd check to be sure. Maybe someone who lives there can do just that and report back.
