Okay we know that witches want to kill the child because it will be their end right? Now assuming this prophecy applies to all witches around the world it may not be the child itself.
I've seen this before in Xenia the gods went nuts and most of them died trying to kill Eve but because of that the prophecy was fullfilled maybe because the witches keep trying they'll keep dying?
i blieve so too, and i like your analysis, they label the child as evil, and aim to destroy her, and in the process kill themselves fulfilling the original label and prophecy... very nice.
These witches have really gone nuts, first the harvest and now the baby, they obviously have no regard for human life escpecially the life of children
.....why didn't I think of that! It would be completely ironic if that happened, but I'm assuming that then entire witch community wouldn't be in support of killing off a child. Look at Sophie. She couldn't possibly be the only advocate against the Harvest. However, the child may be some kind of jinx to witches. Whenever their in range, they inherit some curse or ill-fated fortune as a result.
Again this reminds me of Angel. Connor got sent to that hell demension cause the demon was trying to get him killed by bringing back a 18th centuary vampire hunter who hated Angel. Who instead too the baby, raised him, taught him how to fight in a world described as "the darkest of the dark worlds". Eventually it came back to bite him cause this lead to the kid becoming such a great fighter. Well I have a pretty good feeling this is the turth
The only reason i see for that prophecy is that the child is hybrid witch and it might be the strongest creature with having powers of all three species and since nature cannot tolerate such imbalance, the witches wants to kill the child
Back when Tyler came to town with the first prophecy, I certainly thought the whole thing was a self-fulfilling delusion (on the part of more than just the witches, more than likely; but, the witches are the idiots that decide to run the show due to their "visions"). When we got the second "prophecy" (which was made up by Celeste) I was sure it was all a bunch of hogwash that the witches simply couldn't let go of, along with a few people (again, Tyler and company).
Klaus is FAR better at predecticing and "forseeing" the future than anyone (without any magic of course) with his simple painting... Even Davina did a decent job concerning Celeste and what went wrong with the Harvest's energy.
So, I do believe that this will turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy if everyone keeps on deciding that the baby truly is "the harbinger of doom". If this happens, it more than likely will never be the baby that does anything to harm anyone (the baby may even try to save some of it, but be "seen" as evil; if she grows up fairly fast), but the cyclone of anarchy that will surround this kid... Thus, the baby gets blamed--just like many historical figures.
I like that explanation as well. It's how they explained prophecies in Harry Potter but to avoid spoilers I won't explain why.
Anyway, another way of looking at it can be that if someone managed to kill the baby Klaus will likely spiral out of control like no other time before, wreaking havoc on all sides.
In fact, I would like the writers to keep that as a back up plan if the fans don't like the baby thing (once it's born) because that would very cool. Just imagine the look on Klaus's face and then Elijah and the realization that Elijah failed to humanize his brother and that will likely be lost for a long time.
The only reservation I have about babies in plot lines is that once they are born they have to find a way to make them a viable age to be of any further plot use.
They can't wait 14-16 years and there is no premise that she would mature more quickly to her teens or 20's like some sci-fi and fiction series have done in the past.
Angel had to loose his baby to a hell dimension for him to come back old enough to be a full character.
There was another I can't remember where they got to their early 20's in like 2 episodes and would stay that way forever.
Ooh and they do it in twilight with reneesme.
They always keep lore especially newly introduced lore on the down low so the writers can change the rules at a whim. I'm sure they can cook up something if need be. I agree though it's a problem and I'm not sure if they kill the baby and Klaus would go nuts, what left is there to keep it as a show?
Another problem is the Originals have such a long time span and have probably lived different kind of lives and in many places on Earth, grounding them in New Orleans makes it easy for the writers to make a story just there but holds back the potential of their story, it's the main reason I was reluctant for a spin-off with the Originals.
I hate Twilight with as much a passion (almost) I enjoy Vampire Diaries so I hope they have different lore and preferably a different story alltogether than the former.
I really doubt they will kill Klaus's child.....they have put so much efforts to show us the baby's supernatural genes and powers that it's unlikely of the writers to just throw it away.....they will surely find a way to keep the child.....it might be possible to do time leap, if it ever happened in TVD or TO, and show grown up girl with all her power and side effects of being all three species in one
What do you think?
