During the most recent episode of The Vampire Diaries (Season 5, Episode 6: “Handle With Care”), Amara seemingly killed Silas when she stabbed his neck and drained his blood in order to take the cure, but as we know, no one is really ever dead on TVD. So is Silas still alive?
Let’s look at the evidence. In order for the cure to work, we know the person taking it has to drain the source completely — just as Silas drained Katherine. However, Katherine didn’t die, so who’s to say Silas did? Or was Katherine somehow an anomaly in this scenario? Perhaps Silas and Katherine are now different supernatural creatures entirely!
On The Vampire Diaries, in order to believe someone is truly dead, we need to see the proof. While it looked like Amara had killed her unfortunate lover, we never saw the body. This means Silas can totally be on the loose — losing teeth and such — in Mystic Falls!
Of course, if Silas did actually die, does that mean he’s trapped on the Other Side with Bonnie? Maybe we haven't see the last of Silas just yet. Whether he somehow escaped death or landed himself on the Other Side, we definitely he’ll be back. (And let’s face it: with Stefan back to his brooding self, we really want to see Paul Wesley play the snarky Big Bad.)
What do you think, Vampire Diaries fans? Is Silas actually dead, or did he somehow cheat death like his previous victim, Katherine? Sound off in the comments!
