I'm I the only one who thought that Elijah is a freaking hypocrite because he said he cares more about family but when Kol died he didn't care and sympathize with his murderers, plus he cares mores about hes girlfriends because while Kol died Elijah was hooking up with Katherine, and when Hayley was dying because of Agnes, he avenged Hayley but what about Kol who is his brother while the only relation that Hayley has is that she is carrying his niece.
PS: I HOPE KOL COMES BACK AND CONFRONTS HIM.
The Originals... where Family means everything and nothing at all.
But i have to agree with it all.
Elijah falls inlove waaay to fast plus with the woman whose carrying his brother's child, thats disrespectful on my opinion. And youre right, when he killed Agnes for Haley ( Who has nothing related to his family only the baby) he said, Nobody hurts my family and lives, A ha what about Kol Elijah? You forgot about your baby brother that he was killed for nothing.
Yeah biggest hypocrite in the WORLD.
I hope Haley dies when she gives birth it will be Karma.
<ydd,cbsdbcdjc,jdcbys,csygcvyvsa asfak svaukdfka !!!!
^ me bashing my head on the keyboard
we've had this...so often.
Klaus is a douchebag, Elijah a hypocrite, Rebekah a nymphomeniac, Kol a lunatic and Finn depressed
Summed it up well there Mac ^ ;)
Elijah, Karma is a bitch, he's gonna get his soon, I hope Hayley dies!
^ and Kol had his Karma coming to him as well....oh well
Come on man, Elijah was trying to help Hayley. Klaus didn't need any help he took on Marcel's vampires all on his own.
Why aren't people complaining about Rebekah who went against Klaus by sleeping around with Marcel and taking his side. He GAVE MARCEL THE DAGGER USED to kill an Original. U people should be making POSTS ABOUT her (easy) behavior and back stabbing Klaus.
I know that Elijah didn't show emotion on Kol, but that is because the writers didn't write a scene about that. They can only put so much in the show people.
What about when Klaus daggers EVERYONE, one of his family, MORE THAN TWICE at least, what about the time KLAUS BIT ELIJAH, sounds like everyone here has special treament on KLAUS, KOL and Rebekah.
Oh, and a reminder that KLAUS gave his brother up to MARCEL as a peace offering. How sick is that. It didn't matter what types of things Marcel could have done to him, like burn the body, cut it up to little peaces.
Rebaka is a back stabber.
Klaus is a back stabber.
At least Elijah FORGIVES the wrongs KLAUS does to him. He is the only one who is TRYING TO SAVE KLAUS from himself and his evil actions.
I agree that Elijah shouldn't have ended up with Hayley, it is true that Elijah like all the girls Klaus sleeps with but I never liked Hayley anyways.
All the people in the ORIGINALS ARE Hypocrites. It is what they do best, that is what keeps this show going, the (unexpected) makes it intresting.
Elijah says he's honorable and noble and he's broken his word how many times when he promised davina he wasn't using her and used her
when he promised elena he'd kill Klaus and ran off with him instead
when he promised elena his family wouldn't harm her and they did numerous times I don't like the originals I like rebeckah but they all seem extremely arrogant demanding respect from everyone and everything.
they even still call themselves the ' first vampires ever created ' which is technically true but silas was the one who came up with the immortality spell that their mother found who turned them into vampires also they claim their mother is the most powerfulist witch and yet I'm pretty sure silas, Tessa and the travelers could have easily kicked her ass.
A lot of people find Elijah hypocratical when it comes to morals, so firstly i will be addressing the definition of morals and how it relates to his actions.
Elijah has a moral code which is different to the cuturaly accepted morals at the time (with in our society). Morals are actually constructs of society, things that teachers, parents, ect. tell us about (e.g. stealing is bad) so that we emotionally comply with rules and laws as our ability to see consequences are limited. these emotional responses towards things and the black and white labling of actions are morals and they are completely dependent on the society and culture you are brought up in. There are no objective morals. so with this in mind we can not compare our own morals with his. And there is the fact that he is no longer human, has lived past 10x the normal rate of humans, and is extremely powerful- socially and physically. He is a completely different species and humans could rightfully be seen as nothing but a food source. this needs to be taken into account when questioning his morals.
The hypocracy usually comes into play when it comes to the actions he takes, he might deem killing an innocent wrong one day then slaughter several people the next. So then what does elijah deem as wrong and right? it all seems to be completely dependent on the protection of his family, but now seeing how he treats other family memebers that are not Klaus(e.g. the death of Kol) perhaps this statement is wrong. then what about he does all that he can for the gretaer good of the family? This can be more accurate as Kol could be seen as a weakness as he had worked with Davina and the other times he has gone against family members was for the perceived benefit of the family, Klaus being the centre peice of the family as he has the most power and thus offer more to the family. This can be seen in Elijah's plot against Klaus, when he saw Klaus as a threat to the greater good of the family Elijah felt that it was morally right to eliminate Klaus but when he found out that his family was still alive and Klaus was beneficial in the protection of family then elijah found it morally right to betray Elena.
One could ask the question then why did Elijah betray Klaus in favour for his/their father when it came to the werewolf curse? Well, at the time Mikael ws the most powerful person in the family and thus he holds the potential for protection of the family. He perceived it as the greater good, also were-wolves and any deveincy away from the categorisation of family that Elijah had at the time needed to be eliminated. he thought it was morally acceptable.
This can also branch into something else but that is more a psychoanalysis of the power relationships between Klaus and Elijah, and Mikael and Elijah and how it might allude to my theory that Elijah was raped by his father but that can be saved for another thread.
To sum up, Elijah most likely didn't mourn Kol because Kol is a small cog in the family that at times can be seen as a threat to the greater good of the family- Klaus. Even the protection of Hope is a way of protecting Klaus and keeping the family together.
Below is a rant ( I got sidetracked but decided to keep it in)
I don't even think he has proper emotional connections with people, it's just possession and furthering his goals (the greater good). When ever he does have a realtionship with another person it happens very fast and is destructive, and then he gets over it because it doesn't benefit the greater good. He is absolutely desperate for people (mainly Klaus) to need him and he probably has all those short relationships because he needs love and affection. Actually the most emotional (romantically in a way) attatchment he has to someone is Klaus (it's borderline subtext homoerotic). it shows his depency on others and his self-destructive behaviour as before Klaus it was Mikael. Both these people are emotionally abusive towards him. Elijah does whatever he can for Klaus because Elijah needs him and he can't control himself. his 'goals' are a mask for his destructive behaviour and dependency issues.
He is mentally ill and needs support from all the abuse he has gotten and still gets. Save Elijah from Klaus ( a manipulative dick- if anyone should be critisized it should be him).
What do you think?
