Since Bonnie is the new anchor, does that make her immortal like how Amara was immortal?
This question has been bugging me since Bonnie has become the new anchor.

Why Bonnie isn't able to use magic anymore?
I mean when she was dead and the veil was down she was able to use magic, in fact, she was the one who put the veil back up; At the moment she was a corporeal ghost and had all her powers (since if you are in the other side you must have some kind of talisman in the world of the living so that you can change/effect it, but this wasn't the case)
So now she's again a corporeal ghost, and at the same time the anchor, which just lets her be corporeal and feel the death of every supernatual being.
It just doesn't make any sense.
Someone? Any ideas?
I does seem like a loophole, but not really. The expression triangle basically makes it impossible for supernatural being to die within its area. At least while the viel was down. Basically even though she was dead, she was alive within the expression triangle. Once the viel was raised she became a ghost.
She became the anchor as a ghost. Ghost have certain prerequisites to meet to influence this side. A location, a link or special event is required for magic. Ecen then it is subtle. Such as hiding coffins.
Will Bonnie be able to use magic? She no longer has a natural connection to this plane. She maybe able to do spell at the right time, in the right place, under the right situation.
Note: Bonnie was not the anchor when the viel was raised. She is not a normal ghost. We really do not know what being the anchor means.
Aside from being what holds the other side together I would think a similarity between how Klaus is half-werewolf, half-vampire is applicable. I think Bonnie is now half-alive, half-ghost.
The other side has been in reference since early season 1, it's possible they won't reveal its entire secret until at the end of show due to its importance (or at least important to be in the background).
She lost her powers when she resurrected Jeremy (which she already had done in the passed so the metaphor here would be the next level of punishment for her to learn basically) then she died, became a ghost (after all she is still a witch, just lost her powers..whatever that means, it happened to her mum afterall) then Qetsiyah reawakened her (I can't remember the details) by transferring her the anchor status.
Now she's the anchor and a witch with lost powers. What will cause her to regain her powers? My bet: losing the anchor status by transferring the anchor to someone else, likely required by a powerful witch. Maybe this will be connected to the Traveller story arc.
Speaking of the anchor status, I wonder if one could call her half-dead or only that due to her supernatural status as one she gain the ability to see people on the other side.
If she loses the anchor status she'll go back to the other side
We really don't know what Bonnie being the anchor can do. As the previous anchor was human before she was made into the anchor (i did not watch that episode so i don't know if i am right or wrong). So Bonnie is the first techincally witch to be the achor. She could possibly get her powers back at the end of the season, like she has to prove herself that she is worthy of having that magic again.
But again these are the writers we are talking about, they always find loopholes and have some strange logic to stuff.
When the veil was up, every supernatural being had their powers as much as it lasted, as the spell is bringing supernatural beings back to life for sometime.
This is how Bonnie had powers in order to drop the veil again. After that, she became a permanent ghost and hence she had no powers. Now that she is the Anchor, it's like letting her enter the world of the living. She can live in both sides, because she has to link the living supernatural beings that will die and transfer them to the other side. However, she is still a ghost.
I think the reason why Bonnie can't use magic anymore is because Qetsiyah made sure that no one can make the OtherSide go away, so she made like a rule that who ever get the Anchor statut can't use magic so that she can't undo the Anchor spell because of its side effects.
So then Bonnie can never really die .... doesnt that make her the ultimate being?
Yea,it kind of does.She's no longer a human.She's a...A higher being,you could say.An entity.LOL,maybe she could become a deity.
What do you think?
