I was thinking about it and it suddenly hit me, in particular with what happened to Davina and her fellow young witches. The price extolled when you toy with extreme magic...the consequences for it may not just be quick, one-hit deals...they can be ordeals and trials. True prices.
That is when I suddenly thought of Jeremy's situation. Perhaps resurrecting Jeremy didn't do anything right off the bat that made us very alarmed, except for gaining what we would consider a gift. But, what if that "gift" was merely a curse, to some extent, that would soon cause him anguish and also give him hope--a true bind if there ever was one. After that event, and we must remember that even then Bonnie had feelings for Jeremy...which is what drove her to do it in the first place (beyond the other obvious reasons). There WAS a price to be paid...but I think this is a price, in a way that is very much affecting Jeremy the most in some sense, but also Bonnie.
Soon after, it was as though their stars became "crossed", lover's jilted by the musings of the Universe and the cold calculations of chaos and devious enemies...
They both have died, they both have lost each other... But, Jeremy has the special issue of having someone so close yet so far away...never able to touch them. The worst part of that curse is that it may force his loved to never leave his side and to finally...go to peace. meaning he can't move on, he is stuck in a perpetual loop--at least this was true until Bonnie became the Anchor. But, now Bonnie is in danger again, or at least eventually, from The Travelers.
Jeremy also became a hunter. If it wasn't in his blood (and we will never know until we get a say so from a writer or otherwise), then nature forced it upon him. Again, perhaps like Davina his price is to be...afflicted. He WILL be alive, but he will suffer, and have challenger thrown in his way as a cost of doing business.
