I'm so sick of seeing people complain about the direction the show is going. I admit I am little upset with how Julie made sure delena had very few scenes together this season. This was suppose to be about their love and they barely had any scenes. I was hoping that they would show them having late night conversations, Damon coming up to Whitmore to surprise her and other cute scenes like that. Anyway back to people's complaints, If you don't like the way the show is going then don't watch it, don't ruin it for people that still enjoy it.

I've never seen many if any Stefan or stelena fans get bullied like the Damon/delena fans. It really needs to stop.
This is heavily one-sided.
I've seen so many people in these very VD Wiki threads bash on Stefan and how "boring" they thought Stelena was. <---- AND THAT'S OK. Because it's all opinions of the show.
It's sad if you love a show and someone expressing dislike or even hate about it would upset you...
Everyone is not going to agree about everything. Damon is my least favorite character and i express that. The creater of this thread even said so theirself about the direction Delena was taken. <--- Even I, Someone who DOESN'T support Delena, expected a better relationship. Repetitive Fights, Break-ups, and Make-up sex? That's all we've seen from Delena and THAT'S NOT OUR FAULT FOR HATING IT. Blame the writers, not the people who saw the crap. Season 6 started out crap also, but episode 3 was interesting. I think TVD has NOT been exciting lately, but there are plenty of episodes left for my opinion to be changed. THAT DOESN'T MEAN i should NOT fully Express what I like and dislike, so far. and expressing That shouldn't affect or upset anyone.
I have FUN listening to people explain why they dislike my fav characters, or why they find the season i loved most so boring. I love seeing things from other's point of view. AND, if people just complain and complain, it doesn't bother me, AT ALL. Learn to ignore the stupid stuff, but If you're a whine-bag and cry baby, of course you'll be upset about something so silly and form a one-sided opinion like this...
To be FULLY honest, the problem is simply how sensitive you are...
To be so upset that you'd actually create a thread to complain about how much people complain about the show is silly. They are simply expressing opinion and that shouldn't suck the fun out of TVD for you, unless you as sensitive as this rant shows...
The ratings have gone down b/c the show is less interesting and exciting. People are simply expressing that. And, the writers screwed Delena up, so of course people WILL complain. Lol, you really shouldn't be that surprised that so many people have complained about the latest seasons............ They sucked.
Also, disliking the fact that the seasons are getting worse doesn't mean people should STOP WATCHING. it's Season 6. Some people want to see how it ends regardless of how uninteresting most of the scenes have been. Some people aren't just watching for ONE CHARACTER or ONE RELATIONSHIP, also. Plenty of reasons to like and dislike TVD. Plenty of reasons to drop the show, and Plenty of reasons to keep watching.
Just don't let other people's opinions ruin something for you, guys lol
There's a difference between criticism and complaining. There's an awful lot of comments along the lines of "this show sucks now", which isn't constructive and gets tiring to read after the umteenth time. If they support that emotion with debatable arguments, then I have no problem. But more often than not, they don't.
Well first of off, this show is obviously going down hill. It's not the actors. It's the writing.
Season 5: Ever sense fifth season, I started getting generally confused. It seemed like they just started throwing in random things to keep the show going along and prolong the love relationships that I didn't really care about. (Okay quick breather: I know the show is based on love relationships, but if that is the only thing the writers put effort into, then the show is never going to have any real substance). I think the whole thing with Qetyshia and the Other Side was interesting, but like I said it was unnecessary. The only thing it really added to the show was a history of the dopplegangers and an introduction to the collapse of the Other Side. Besides, I hated what they did to the main antagonist. It was just one after another after another. I would have liked it better if they would have treated the villains and wrote them in a better light. This is the thing that really concerns me. Julie creates good antagonist, but she doesn't give them enough substance or background information to the audience. To me, it all seemed like one short story after the other with a little romantic drama spicing up the flavor. It really saddens me that when I think about the potential that this show can have and the creators are ruining it with sappy love interest I don't even care about. I think that The Originals does a much better job a character development and introducing new characters to add to the story line.
Season 6: This season, so far it went off with a fart and a sack of crap to go along with it. I mean they devote an entire episode to Elena to get her shit together then the next episode she is out taking jelly shots and has a completely new love interest. I hate what they've done with the main cast as well. Matt is useless and has kind of always been useless except when he gives advices (I really don't know why they haven't killed him off yet). At the beginning, Elena is a hot mess, but she starts to revert back to her Season One self which I kind of like, but not really. Her loosing her memory is a callback to when she got rid of her humanity. It seems like whenever she has an emotional problem, she can never handle it. Caroline...I don't know what this girl is trying to do she is all over the place trying to help Stefan and Enzo and get Bonnie and Damon back. I hate what they did with Stefan. He lost his human girlfriend who he knew for two months and went out on a killings spree when Enzo snapped her neck, then he sided with Tripp. Does he realize he sided with the person who is probably going to try and kill his friends and himself? I could go on more about a rant with Stefan, but I wouldn't. I think Tyler's character is having a bit of an acting problem/they screwed up his character in so many ways possible. His back to his untriggered werewolf form which means that he is being his bitchy self again *eye roll*. Then they give him a love interest with Liv which I didn't expect and came out of nowhere. Enzo...I hated him last season love him this season. As far as we know, Bonnie and Damon are in the safe zone away from the bad writing and half-written story line.
Well, that's my shpill.
I have to wonder (I'll be brutally honest here) if they took a lot of the writers that used to contribute, quite a bit to TVD, to The Originals when they created it. Because to be honest, the "bad writing" started around that very same time period; it seems too obvious to ignore.
Now we have Elena falling for (who will be a bad guy, I have no doubt--oh wait we already...again, bad writing) some guy, BUT then it looks like Stefan is going to try to pursue Elena again in the next episode, knowing full well that this NEW relationship is far beyond just toxic...it's two people licking each others' wounds when they don't want to even realize that they have them.
The story is more "streamlined" than last season (so far) and this IS a good thing. But, if Damon and Bonnie truly make it back in a few episodes, that would do us all a huge favor, rather than us playing this merry-go-round of endless cycles, repeating. Stefan is being stupid, Enzo is always stupid (but, at least it is part of his character--it isn't like he jumped the tracks), Elena is...about the same as Jeremy right now. Caroline is "trying", but to what end I have no idea. Matt is, as others have mentioned (and this is also true for Jeremy nowadays too, and to a lesser extent Tyler) useless. Liv and her brother are "around", but not doing anything or becoming part of the main group (which is annoying). Finally, the only person that I actually like to see scenes with them on screen right now are for: Alaric. Even are human villain is doing a good job.
All the scenes with Damon have been perfectly fine--at least Damon and Bonnie haven't decided to forget that they were and are friends--even though for all intents and purposes their friends are gone--right now--forever from them... Even though Kai was annoying, it was better than watching Matt (who, after everything he has seen in that town REALLY could not figure out what had gone on, possibly, in that van...).
We'll see what happens, but if the "love triangle" goes "full retard", I may want out for awhile...
I agree with most of this ^^^^^^^^^^
There IS good reason for why ppl are complaining about the show.
TVD can be saved with the right writing, but we'll just have to wait and see....
THANK YOU ! I don't know when people wanted the show they are so hyped but once it comes out people bitch about it. Just like with Fear The Walking Dead people were so hyped before it came out and then people starts bitching about it. I don't know people don't know what the fuck they want.
To be honest, I think part of the biggest problem with TVD is its own lack of self-awareness, for the most part. Like ditching the roles of Elena and Matt to extreme stereotypes, even when they started to try and change them and expand them, they reversed course.
But, the biggest issue in my eyes is the simple fact that they have taken the one special part of the show and turned it into an endless cycle of repetitious, every episode, rinse--clean--repeat, melodramatic stunts and tripe. Unfortunately, I'm talking about the supernatural elements of the show.
The beginning of TVD simply did far better in many ways because magic, the supernatural creatures, and the lore--in general--was all very much still growing LITTLE by little each episode. Not like now where we get info dumps and permanent on-screen vampires every episode. The element of mystery, MAGIC, and fantasy is disappearing.
In my view, besides obvious issues with character portrayals and their "builds" (especially over all this time), is the biggest reason why TVD (and also TO in some ways) is killing its own fanbase off. Vampires are meant to be mysterious, not redundant. Witches are meant to be, well, magical... Not (only) plot devices... And... Humans are not meant to be just one-time on-screen performances for a supernatural character to bounce their "supernatural griefs" upon, and then that's it of them, killing them off afterwards as a huge repetitious joke (when death and murder meant something at the start of the show, now it's literally at "Army of Darkness" levels). I mean really, HOW IS Mystic Falls not so utterly abandoned that it actually doesn't have a name to be remembered by anymore, simply because the new tenants are all dead or brainwashed into never leaving and talking about the place OR again they are, well, dead...
But, I don't write the show, I just remember how much more fun I had in the simpler times of the first three seasons...
Personally i think all the vampires need to find out that there are REAL vampire before them, borne of Lillith and Cain. Several Antideluvians have survived and they have power like no one can imagine.
They could have been the ones that have been so secret not even the vampires nor witches knew of them
i know true blood used lillith i just hate the way everything is in true blood and never watched an episode, i dont need to see some dude getting a blow job in my vampire show
What do you think?
