5! I came for Resident Evil omg stelena all the way!!😭😩💖

Season 1 because it was like the show started off fresh. Caroline was boy crazy, Bonnie was just figuring she was a witch, Elena and Jeremy recovering in two total different ways, Damon the bad guy who's obsessed with Katherine, Katherine unseen but talked about a lot with a few flashbacks, and stefan, the mysterious new guy in town with a dark secret and past.

Season 1 or 6 because those are the season that made me think "this is better than I thought it would be". Season 1 when we're introduced to the show, I couldn't help but think it had the most ridiculous name and would live up to its ridiculousness (that didn't happen until seasons 4, 5, & 8) but it didn't despite the cheesy pilot that did try to stay true to books but looked ridiculous on screen. However it's the most tolerable season to me I can actually get through a full rewatch of it without getting so annoyed that I have to stop watching.

Season 6 because after the shit storm that was season 5 I had basically given up on the show. I didn't even watch season 6 until well after the entire season aired and I completely stopped watching in the middle of season 5 ( haven't seen those episodes, nor have the desire to, I've read enough to know that it sucks). I was reading a lot of Bonnie fanfiction at the time and Kai kept showing up so I decided to check out who he was and after a few clips of him I decided to watch him in context and boy was I not disappointed, finally something that lived up to its height and the season overall proved to be a lot better than its previous one so it falsely restored my faith in the show, but I can't deny that I loved that season.

TL;DR: The seasons that had the freshest material and were better than they promised to be. ( 1 & 6)

Seasons 5-6 are my absolute favorite. Although I hate Delena and that's what season 5 was mostly about, I loved seeing my baby girl Katherine as a human, and they introduced her daughter, and I liked the whole Silas, Amara, and Qetisyah love triangle thing. Also the whole Passenger storyline was amazing, I wish she would've stayed there longer. I did not like the second half of the season with the Travelers and stuff but overall, great season. Season 6..holy shit. That season made me start liking Elena again, Delena was tolerable, KAI WAS INTRODUCED, I started appreciating Bonnie more cause of the whole Prison World thing, also great plot. And Jo, omg Jo was such a great character. Matt was still decent. Tyler and Liv were together. Bamon was a thing. AND CAN I JUST SAY THAT 6X11 IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES CAUSE YOU KNOW, KAI. Also, the season finale is one of the bests
