Given the numerous amounts of questions that are being duplicated on the platform, I have compiled below an FAQ comprising of the multiple-frequently asked questions; please check this FAQ before posting to ensure that your question if not a duplicate. In circumstances where discussions exist about the topic, I have linked them in the question. This will be updated regularly when new things arise, so keep checking back!
What is the timeline for Legacies? — The timeline for Legacies is currently 2029 due to multiple continuity errors in the first season. More can be found in the discussion above and/or the timeline article which also highlight the inconsistencies with Hope, Lizzie and Josie's ages.
Would an Original die if it was beheaded/heart extraction? — Quite simply, no. The only way to kill an Original vampire is with the white oak stake or Marcel's venom. Duplicated posts will be deleted.
Which Salvatore brother (poll)? / Which Mikaelson? (5.27.20) — A poll for this question can be found at this link; do not repeat it. Duplicated posts will be deleted.
Who is the strongest witch/villain? — An extensive discussion centered around the most powerful/strongest villain in the series. Comparative (or versus) of Dahlia, Esther, Freya, Bonnie, others etc; please do not repeat them. There are additional comments on their respective article comment sections as well. Duplicated posts will be deleted.
Which species would you be? / is more powerful? (11.5.19) Best/Worst Species (9.16.20) — These polls are duplicated in some fashion every so often. Please use the tags to find the most recent one since polls don't normally spur a discussion.
Klaus' Wolf Form (11.15.19) — Several posts are linked within that are generally about Klaus' never seen werewolf form and reasons why.
Relationships (11.15.19) Polls in general (i.e. Best, Favorite, etc., Character, siblings, etc.,) (6.18.20) Favorite Siphoner/(Hybrid) Heretic Member (7.10.20); Parker/Saltzman ; Best or Favorite/Worst Villain (9.16.20) — Several broad posts and polls in regards to mostly the main characters across the three shows and their significant other(s), family members, one's own favorite characters, etc. Users should check the desired relationship or individual article tags for a poll or discussion topic prior to posting a new thread - chances are, it has been posted before with variable choices. Polls, generally, do not spur discussions and are considered low effort and similar polls in some context can usually be found in the article tags. Also, please note that creating numerous polls about individual characters or relationships may seem like spam and can be removed. Duplication or polls with highly similar answer choices to one another will be deleted. Continuing to duplicate such polls may result in an account block. Some of the many examples can be found here: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, and thirteen.
Which Show? (11.20.19) Best/Worst Season? (5.5.20) — Several poll posts already exist about which show is "the best", etc. Please don't recreate these polls as they usually don't offer a discussion. These polls can be found either through the series categories or wiki article tag. For the respective best/worst seasons (two examples linked), please see their corresponding article tags for other polls. Duplicated posts will be deleted.
Hope's Transformation (11.24.19) Magic (4.24.20) Vampire Status (11.12.21) and Sireline (?) (2.21.22) — Prior to her transition, there were a few topics on whether she would keep or lose her magic, as well as related posts via the associated tags. It is not known what kind of vampire (whether a non-Original or Original or otherwise) she is post transition into a fully activated hybrid. As far as Julie Plec has stated beforehand, she would presumably become a vampire, but there are no rules yet. However, she's also stated that "Hope will eventually be a fully realized tribrid, but part of the journey of the series will be getting her there." Prior to season two, it was "One day, certainly, but not anytime soon." Leading up to Season Four, Brett states "There's a lot of story there if we choose to go down that road...". ***(11.7.21) As a fully activated tribrid, Hope retains the use of her magic after completing her transition in "See You On The Other Side". However her vampire status remains ill-defined. ***(2.21.22) Since this has frequently been mentioned--Hope Mikaelson is a born-tribrid to Hayley and by definition (and canon) is NOT an Original vampire (i.e.she wasn't turned by a spell, but by her own blood). This also means she does NOT have a sireline. Therefore, this wiki does NOT list Hope as an Original vampire and to date has never been stated as such either in the show (episodes) or by EPs/showrunners. While Hope can sire another vampire and can create a sire bond with hybrids created from her blood, these terminologies are not mutually exclusive and wrongly used interchangeable. Vampire and hybrids created from her blood are considered "unsired" vampires and was discussed with the Sireline Unlinking Spell.
The Merge going forward in Legacies (2.24.20) — There are several posts under this and related tags that discuss possibilities about the Merge in Legacies and whether Lizzie and Josie will (or won't) actually Merge. The Merge can seemingly be avoided by becoming a vampire, per Lizzie's comment in Kai Parker Screwed Us — "I've thought about becoming a vampire. [...] If I did, there wouldn't be a Merge."
The Cure and Original Vampires (3.23.20) — Several posts are linked within, however, the article on the Cure explains possibilities as there has yet to be a cured Original vampire.
Hybrids v. Original Hybrid's ability to Procreate (4.4.20) — Vampire-Hybrids cannot procreate — they are dead/immortal. Klaus was a werewolf-turned-vampire hybrid by magic and is Nature's only loophole for procreation. This loophole has also been stated to have been closed. There are several posts in this regard, i.e. here and here, but it's explained on the Niklaus Mikaelson, Vampire, Hybrid, and Loopholes articles, to name a few. (Updated 6.14.21) For Hope specifically, please refer to these two theory posts: here, here, and here. Continuing with canon, Alaric states that "maybe someday [Hope] will want [a family] of her own, which would be impossible if she becomes a full Tribrid." However, Freya believes otherwise, stating that "[she is] literally Nik's blood, so it would seem just as possible for [her] to conceive like Hayley did." Either way, the contradicting opinions are speculative and yet to be proven otherwise. I.e. there being a fundamental difference between Klaus (undead, Original hybrid) and Hayley (alive, werewolf) that spawned Hope's birth versus Hope's current life (undead, but tribrid).
Season Nine? (6.18.20) — This is utterly false. Please ignore such "rumors". Duplicated posts asking if this is true will be deleted.
Is Stefanie Salvatore Canon? (6.25.20) — Is she canon? No. She only was mentioned in a wish-reality (which was wished away and hasn't been mentioned since). Is she supernatural. No (both in the wish-reality and per Julie Plec). Is her blood the Cure: A Theory? No, she's otherwise human. According to Julie Plec, she would have to "figure out why a child of theirs would be supernatural and in boarding school." However, there are several post that theorize about this, such as here, here, here, and here, to name a few.
Malivore's Children: A Master Thread. (7.5.20) — There have been a number of post regarding theory about Malivore's children; though beyond Ryan's few words about them, not much else is known. This thread lists most (if not all) relevant posts that discuss Malivore's children in some context. Canonical information, at least regarding the creation and powers can be found on the Malivore or Golem articles. Please continue discussion on the master thread. New posts will be directed here and be subsequently locked or removed.
Elena Gilbert is "Hated"? (8.6.20) — Since this has been a recurring topic, here are number of frequent posts (also here 10.23.20) that may or may not elaborate on reasons why Elena is not liked by some in the fan-base.
Caroline is Alive (8.8.20) — Caroline is alive and not dead. Klaus' death had no effect on Caroline because his sireline was broken by Davina.
Nik (Freya and Keelin's son): A Master Thread (10.11.20) — Yes, Freya and Keelin have a son. In That's Nothing I Had to Remember Freya doesn't confirm who the paternal donor is. In When The Saints Go Marching In, Vincent originally tells Freya no, then tells her that maybe he can find the courage to deal with the possibility of loss when referring to a possible child. He is indirectly confirmed as supernatural, however, since Freya mentions that "[Keelin]'s got an eye on [the Salvatore School] for our son". The 'Father' and species identification remains unconfirmed. This thread has a collection of various posts concerning Nik, possibilities of his species, and other things, etc.
Watch Order: TVD, TO, and LGC? (1.17.21) — This is a recurring topic of discussion about what to watch first and/or what order. Canonically, it's TVD, TO (which overlaps with the former, here and there) and, then LGC (which has a lot of references to its predecessors). Ultimately, the decision on how to watch is up to the watcher, but considering this is constantly asked, here are some of the most recent: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten.
Does Marcel have a sireline? (6.7.21) — The simple answer is 'no' because he hasn't (or can't or doesn't) turned anyone. Given similarities in the spell that created him, it stands to reason he can create one, but in terms of what is canon to date, we're not told that he's created anyone or what (if any) abilities they have in comparison.
Types of hybrids (4.18.22) — Known types of hybrids are listed and detailed on the hybrid page. In particular with possible 'new' ones either via by Hope (as a Tribrid) or other new species, (i.e. Landon), theories are speculated in the given thread. Please review them.
Legacies Transcripts Discontinued (2.23.23) — Transcript articles, in general, are not 'popular'. In 2019, it was decided that given the lack of resources (i.e. editors) to put value into creating the articles they would be suspended after season one—which was retroactively updated to include season one later. Transcripts across the wiki have a history of neglect, went unfinished, or highly variable format. TVD and TO transcripts will remain, however, LGC will not be re/created. Users wanting to see the transcripts are encouraged to use Forever Dreaming or similar websites.
