Im not sure id agree with lexi
Here is my list and this isnt me being a fanboy:
Klaus-not all the time but a couple of times its like the writers tried way too hard to make us hate him
Katherine-same as klaus, episode 100 was a perfect example
Kol-he did get mistreated sometimes too
Lucien and aurora-i felt they got the short end of the stick
Basically i want to say any villian who didnt get certain redemption arcs like i explained in a blog post last night
I will not put stefan here though, idk why he shows up in these types of list all the time, if anything he was given too much good treatment, maybe something happened to him real tragic in season 6 which i didnt mostly see that warranted it but the other 7 seasons and his cameo in the originals, no, he wasnt mistreated at all
@Tommy,Klaus&Kol2012+ to be fair i could thing of a long list of times in which Stefan has been mistreated over the course of the show:
His brother killed his best friend (Lexi)
His brother kissed, slept with, and then continued to steal his girlfriend.
He was forced by Klaus to turn off his humanity.
He spent a full summer trapped inside a box under the sea, repeatedly drowning whilst the two people he loves most - Damon and Stefan - spent the whole summer together care free.
As mentioned, his tragedies in season 6 regarding Ivy.
His family being killed by Damon (Zack).
The last of his family being wiped out in season 8 (Sarah).
Being stabbed by the Phoenix sword in season 7 instead of his brother and subsequently spending three years on the run from Rayna.
And finally, his untimely death at the end of the series😢 - although I did also feel as though this was the perfect end to his character arc.
Okay to go through ur examples
Yes that probably stung a bit but that was targeted more at lexi i feel, not stefan
Again that was not targeted at stefan personally
He was forced but he wasnt, plus he did that on his own many times afterwards
Okay but is that considered mistreatment?, there is a difference between a bad thing happening and just flat out the writers hate your character and want them to suffer, plus stefan got over that pretty quickly
That was again a bad thing and plus while ivy didnt deserve it, stefan kind of needed a punch to the gut like that to not give up on damon
Again that was someone close to stefan, it wasnt some insult given to stefans personality
Refer to what i said about others regarding sarah
Again being stabbed by rayna wasnt mistreatment plus they made it sound like he had it pretty good with valerie as a life they built, it wasnt like he had to be on the run 24/7, rayna was locked in the armory
Yeah the death thing doesnt count either sorry, i believe even paul wesley wanted stefan to die, he requested it
Nonetheless, whether or not the writers actively attempted to mistreat the character, it always seemed to be that he was the one who suffered the most throughout the course of the series. Yes, there are characters like Bonnie who always manage to pull the short stick in these kind of situations but I’d definitely argue that the most mistreated character of the series is Stefan, for the explanation I’ve just given and the points that I listed above.
Yeah id have to disagree sorry
In terms of male characters on tvd not counting the mikaelsons, i mean again i feel the villians got certain slaps
Pretty much anyone that is not Damon, Elena (to an extent) or Klaus.
But especially Bonnie, Tyler, Stefan, with emphasis on Bonnie.
I agree on Lexi too.
Really i disagree with some of the choices chuggy
Couldn’t agree more @ChuggyBlones
I really think Kol got the short end of a stick.
What do you think?
