vervain is a magical herb, but not specifically created or that of a witch. it was created well by nature - or made it toxic to vampires. so I assume the answer is no.

Okay personally I don’t think it has magic since Esther used vervain, the white oak tree, and the sun to balance nature or wtv and there might be a scene when Mystic falls was under the travelers spell thing and someone couldn’t get compelled bc of vervain maybe I’ll have to watch it again though.

Esther didn’t make vervain. It was natures way of “fighting back” because the originals were so strong. So they needed a weakness. Vervain used to grow at the base of the White Oak Tree

I know that. That was what I was tryna say. But Esther called upon that tree to make her children immortal and with dark magic comes consequences. And nature would not let anything be immortal, there’s always a way to kill whatever you wanna kill. So the consequence was that the thing that made them could be the thing that kills them. Which is the White Oak Tree. But vervain grew on the tree which is their weakness. Also why would Esther make a plant that weakens her children when her goal was for them to never die? It was nature. Therefore, no magic. My opinion.
