So we've seen Damon compel a crow in the first season, are there any other animals who've been compelled throughout the series?

Also what's the strength of compulsions? Because in first season Damon's compulsion on caroline was very strong, strong enough that he could ask her to rescue him and she could find him. But we don't see any such strong compulsions later on....
