I doubt they are willing to empower vampires, even if it was with the Augustine project. We're talking about an organization that was willing to shoot 8 year old whatnots simply because they're magical.

They're extremists, and I doubt they would have risked going through failed trials when they already have malivore goo, which doesn't has any chance of fighting back, etc.

True, but Nia doesn't belong to a large wide-spread species. Considering these Medusa creatures are hiding and not part of the magical community, they're likely a far more extinct species then vampires and would be an easier threat to extinguish.

Augustine vampires would be much more tricky and there are more possibilities that could go wrong. I don't think they would empower one of the last major species simply to eradicate the others.

Using a nearly extinct group, on the other hand, could have more possibilities. They're not big enough anymore to be an actual threat and don't have a faction in the way witches, wolves and the vampires have. Creatures like Nia have various unique skills and even the supernatural factions don't believe anymore that they exist. Which gives them a huge element of surprise.

Besides, I am not even sure if the nearly extinct species are aware what exactly the power source behind Triad is. They likely don't know what Malivore is or that the three major species are immune.

This creates a lot of room for manipulation of facts, because if nearly extinct species like Nia knew what was going on and that the three major species could help them, they would all run to places like the Salvatore school for an alliance, which would Triad's mission extremely difficult. It would be much better for their interests to keep those nearly extinct species close to them.

What do you not understand? The Gorgons are likely an extinct species, all creatures save from witches, vampires and werewolves probably are.

If they weren't, they would have had prominent communities, such as a faction in New Orleans, magical schools of their own, despite Malivore; their existence wouldn't have shocked the three primary species. Even Wade, an actual creature, did not know of his own fairy background until the Malivore creatures.

It's very save to assume, that the Gorgons who remain, and whatever other creature that hasn't been captured yet, are endangered species by now.

If they weren't, again, the supernatural community would be aware of more then these three species existing, they might even have known about Malivore and Triad beforehand if the creatures were a prominent part of the supernatural community, but they aren't.

You were the one to point out that the Triad worked with Gorgons, and I gave you an hypothetical answer to why the Triad would work with them, rather then an Augustine vampire like you suggested.
