More Original Vampires?

Do the original vampires have power(as in compulsion abilities) over other vampires because the others were descended,in a way,from them,and they were the first vampires,or do they have power because they were created by a witch and weren’t turned with the blood of another vampire. Because the first would suggest that each original could only compel his/her own bloodline while the second suggests that if any vampire was created by a witch they could compel others,which would suggest that more could be created.

Please keep in mind that I haven’t watched the Originals yet(though spoilers are welcome if they answer the question),so I wouldn’t know if there’s an answer on that show.

It's actually a bit of both but mainly the first one. They can do things that other vampires can't do because all vampires are a watered down version of them. They're unrestricted in their powers except outside their species. Like they can compel vampires but not witches or werewolves unless they become hybrids. There are some things that happen in both shows that gives you little answer and you have to figure the rest out
