Yes and that episode and that moment was one of my favorites until I found out that marcel took the serum so if you ask me elijah had the right idea

I always liked Marcel. He would have given his life to protect Hope and probably Davina. He had fued with the mikaelsons but like who didn’t

See I was you once I liked marcel I was like he’s cool then guess what he took that serum and set off to kill every mikaelson and even after that I was willing to forgive him and still like him then I stopped and I thought see all those reasons above those are only some of my reasons I thought of while I was thinking I couldn’t think of them all while I was typing it but after that I HATED marcel after I thought of everything that had happened because of him

Actually most of what happened was because of the witches in this show. They tried to establish dominance over everyone else and act like they were better than them. Marcel put them under lock and key because they were doing too much. They were sacrificing kids just for power, and asserting dominance. Also, Klaus tried to usurp because he wanted what Marcel had and tries to screw him over. The reason he went after the Mikaelsons was because they wouldn't leave him alone. You can't blame marcel for everything

Wow. Ok. So I agree that the witches are pretty much to blame for most of it. They're the ones who made the insane rituals that involve killing kids, all the while acting like they are high and mightier than the rest. This 100% includes Vincent, who I actually hate so bad. Like he hated basically everyone who wasn't a witch and thought he was superior. He annoyed me, but that's for another post. Klaus tried to take over New Orleans, that's true, and he would have to defeat Marcel. But, Klaus always wanted to keep his family safe, and the only reason he did so in the first place, if you remember correctly, was coz the witches said, "Klaus buddy, I know you were having it pretty good in Mystic Falls, but come here. I got your child, and I'm gonna kill it if you don't let the witches be free by taking down Marcel". What is Kalus going to do? The man values family over everything (although he is often misguided about how he goes at it). You expect him to just let it go? He never wanted Marcel hurt, he loved him as a son. Marcel on the other hand was just sick and tired of how the Mikaelsons had the family first pack if it meant others were getting screwed. And while he has a point, I was so attached to Klaus at that stage that he annoyed me. Especially when he was reaping the rewards of being Klaus' family (i mean Klaus could've killed him in the first episode when he was a normal vampire, but decided against it coz he loves him). Marcel annoyed me acting high and mighty. Not everything is his fault, but not everything is Klaus' fault either. It is a balance, but I mostly blame the witches (I actually hate all the witches except Davina)

@Percabethisbasicallylife, I appreciate the fact that you don’t think everything is Marcel(or Klaus) fault. Everyone played their part in the damage that was caused in the show. Obviously now of us have to like the role those characters played. Especially when we may have thought of a better way they could have handled things.

Btw, Klaus in the beginning didn’t really care about Hope. He even gave the go ahead for the Witches to kill her and Hayley(thankfully Elijah was there to intervene). He just wanted what Marcel had out of jealousy. It had nothing to do with protecting his family or wanting a baby. As the show went on he started caring and liking the idea of having Hope.
