Does Alaric still drinks Vervain?

I'm just curious about it if has ever been mentioned or anything like that that Alaric still drinks vervain in Legacies as precaution for Vampire students trying to compel him.

At a school full of vampire even though vampires are taught to not drink human blood but sometimes they freak out and lose their head like MG and Jade did
