ElaenaOriginal, I also respect your opinion.
1) He's not doing anything interesting, but when he does the hero's thing it is very uninteresting because of his intetntions to be good to be respected.
2) There is a bit of a difference because he told him to confront his father who was supposed to have different principles and not respect that MG became a vampire and make a career on his death. He didn't tell him to talk to his father, who doesn't know he's still alive.
5) I have the impression that MG only helps to be a superhero, while Lizzie (in season 1) is more selfless even when posing as the leader / star of the team. The MG, on the other hand, makes a spectacle of himself, such as when they fight the Triad. Because her first thought in the moment of danger is to save others, for example situation with the Gargoyle.
6) I never said he forced Kaleb into friendship. However, in my experience, people who are your friends because you are popular or have something cool are not true friends. Because they accept you not for your but because you are popular and everyone wants to hang out with you and they want to be among the "elite" even though you may not be their friendship type.
Sean 175 and Tommy,Klaus&Kol2012+, I agree with you both. I don't understand why they need pseudo superheroes theme. Initially, when the MG discussed the hero thing with Nia, Kaleb, Lizzie etc. I thought it would just be that it would just inspire him to do good but in such a normal way without the costumes. I think they could leave that he wanted to try to help others with Ethan because it's like an introduction to his helping story arc that he started but then I think they should limit it to just mentioning that for e.g. "MG is out there helping with something" or "MG last night helped to extinguish the fire " or " during the summer, MG helped to put in jail the gang but until there isn't a story for e.g. that one of the victims saw MG's abilites and decided to find him, I think that they should stop to show random rescue actions of MG and Kaleb that do not contribute anything to the plot.
I think the ripper plot is better. Because as Sean said, it would be cool to see MG try to hold back his desire to kill and to see his whole process of struggling with it and his work on it. You know his "learning" over some aspect of his vampirism.
So I will come back in the end to the things with heroes. I'm not saying that it couldn't be done well. It could be done just by trying to help when they can without costumes (as I said before) or in such a way that the Super Squad is called into Supernatural cases by different communities (a bit like in 1x10 with Mikaelson Boarding School Hope, Kaleb, Jed and Pedro). Because I honestly didn't mind Ethan and MG hero thing even when I knew they were planning the costumes. It started to annoy me the most when the costumes came to the superhero thing. And since there are no superheroes in TVDU, wearing costumes seems idiotic to me, especially as nobody sees them.
