Since tvd started I think many fans have speculated back and forth if nature is a living being or just something symbolic cause it feels like a constant contradiction, like the witch spirits seem to be the powers that be more than nature. And with these so called gods coming in the show on paper it looks like a great time to make nature be the person to end hope once and for all but look at the history of tvdverse, what did nature actually do in terms of powerful feats, it created? earth and even that is sort of a half thing cause nature might be earth like a living planet. It created humans and animals and the only thing confirmed to do by one of the characters is bonnies mom said nature took her powers away for messing with dark magic, mind you it was using dark magic to entomb mikael so he couldnt kill elena its not like she did it for evil ways. There was a reference by the shamans to the great spirit that aided to help create rayna or help raynas powers go to bonnie which might have been nature. And then we go off what powers would this entity have, by common sense it cannot be an omnipotent being cause by that logic it has no weakness unless it allows itself to be weakened, even hope is not omnipotent. And if its a spirit can it even die, presumably no? But honestly a twist I'd go for is maybe nature used malivore or should I say the mud golem the triad made as a vessel, that would make more sense than the excuse clarke came up with.
But what do you all think, should nature come in as a person or just remain symbolic? Im of the opinion nature should stay away and even if its a person it shouldnt be a physical being, maybe keep it a spirit.
