It makes sense sadly because cw hasn’t made money since 2010 when tvd was on. They said in an article that they were running out of money and were looking for someone to back or buy the channel. They decided to get rid of all the effects heavy shows bar.

It didnt help either legacies only merchandise was the dvds which were extremely underwhelming when it came to features

Oh and the fact I never saw them in stores

I loved the show, I loved all 3.....I'm just sad that it has to end but...I guess all good things have to come to an end..

Honestly I think in retrospect I may have been a bit harsh on monster of the week cause at the very least it was doing a plot in quick more realistic time, getting to the point everytime they did those and didnt drag on like the malivore or katherine arcs and those arcs never did end interesting, so I will be fair there. It was kind of like a mini movie each episode which I start to prefer over dragging arcs for most of the time.

I guess just the biggest thing that disheartens me is they couldnt have one monster take out one student and keep them dead, like even the background students, that really bothered me.

@Tommy,Klaus&Kol2012+ didnt a monster technically take out Landon and Rafael. Like Landon seems to be indefinitely in purgatory and raf is pretty much the same thing. At least Landon gets to talk to people.
