he wasn't fond of Damon b/c he thought Damon was irresponsible, reckless and selfish. The eldest, yet most childish. He thought Stefan was the responsible and admirable son. It all makes sense, tbh
We had got onto the topic as we were thinking why was there the venom between Damon and their father? what made their relationship strained? Was Damon too like their mother? Had Damon seen something or been hurt by his father? We know Gusieppe prized Stefan as he was so obedient and submissive to his will - was he a control freak? A father who would rather shoot both his sons himself than let them love a vampire is pretty tough love.
We theorised about what possible vampire story could have wound around the untold story of their mother.
AimToMisbehave wrote: I think Elena was just paranoid and hallucinating. Â Her intuition told her that people were tip-toeing around her about something that happened (she already questioned Damon about it), and she figured it must have been something she/Katherine did, because why else would they all be so afraid to tell her? Â She then went to Aaron's dorm, saw that all of his stuff was gone, and naturally figured he died and that his death was covered up like the other vampire-induced deaths at the school.
If you remember she has slipped into the hallucination BEFORE she sees Aaron, he leads her to his door and into the empty dorm room, she believes as she has just had a telephone call with Damon that Aaron is still alive and she is looking to get in touch with him as he will be devastated about Wes. She doesn't know hes gone, she doesn't know he's dead and she only sees the room AFTER he appears. She then is talking to him and I believe he shows her his blood - wounded by the bite of Damon on his left side - running all over the correct side and markings as we have seen his body in the trunk of the car that Enzo almost crashed into the Salvatore house hallway. This leads her to ask is he dead, he dones't answer her and yet he is looking at her as she breaks down now convinced she must have killed him when she was Katelena. Her other hallucinations I think are genuinely just that, as they are all based on knowledge that she has or is given. Now her mind was not in the motel room as passengers don't let the host know or see anything but her BODY was there and even at that the writers took it to the hotel room we would recognise as Damon was never there and he shows up. There was also the diary she read where Kat was describing having lured Stefan to the Hotel room and marked her top, having a shower so she was given that info.
Aaron was something more than just a hallucination. I can appreciate that each person can have their own convictions so I 'm not saying you are wrong in what you believe, you interpret it your way.
I am going to believe that he was there as he was dead, he wanted to say sorry to Elena and her altered state made it easier for him to go to her and to kind of say goodbye. He then leaves and the 2nd Aaron we see is just her hallucinating him and he is actually Damon having bust out to come and save her from herself.
People can be ghosts too, just that people didn't go to the Other Side as it was a waiting limbo for supernaturals. Doesn't mean there isn't a similar thing for humans.
I like to think that after finding out everything he did he came back to Elena to say goodbye to kind of closure. He knew she hadn't killed his family she hadn't killed anyone and he was sorry as he expressed to Caroline, he left the message that he had shut down the Augustine legacy and Wes was out of his life. But he also wanted Elena to know he was sorry. I think they could have been good friends and yet it was doomed for him once Katelena broke up with Damon and Enzo came back on the scene. It was more than the other hallucinations, he was showing her the neck wound he had when he died and yet as she didn't see or know this she couldn't have created this in her own head. He can't say it exactly but its enough for her to know he is gone and he just looks at her. Later when she sees Aaron where it is actually Damon is the hallucination version and only the one in the dorm is the ghost.
I think I'm catching halfway through a conversation but he can't have doppelgangers - YET. he was just human before and he was made into a vampire and original by esther. But now that there is an 'unkillable' version of him then the mythology would suggest that one should be produced to 'balance' him out. Plec has said they are trying to limit the mythology so I wonder if they will steer clear of the doppels as been there done that already.
Alaric is going to be focused on being a vampire and a super one at that as he didn't get a chance to really adapt to that life and will no doubt have issues with the whole thing. He's also back being a guardian/family member to Elena and Jeremy who again like himself after their loss of Jenna will have been grieving for Damon and Bonnie. Damon being his best mate will have left more pain for him to deal with. Then he will have a life outside of mystic falls as he won't be able to enter and they have also said that there will be a love interest for him this season. So its a lot of stuff going on for him. Then you add in all the others who's storylines are going to cross with his and he has potential for a great character journey this season.
These are all Scottish Supernatural and most are centred around exact places in Scotland.
Ones that stick out, cause there were too many to list all of them and most are just local or animal types that are specific to one loch, lake or piece of land.
A very dangerous female vampire who haunted the highland regions.
She always wore green and had webbed feet. She was not always a death portent and in certain circumstances grant three wishes .
A shapeshifting demon who haunted the Odail Pass on the Isle of Skye, its howls could be heard in the night.
Scots Gaelic for shapeless thing, a creature of the night.
General term for fairies in the UK they were only bad if you were bad or ignored them. They wore brown and hence the name.
A blue faced hag of the highlands associated with winter and a guardian of animals. She may represent a crone aspect of the triple goddess once worshiped by the ancient Britons.
A supernatural cat from the Highland region, the creature was as big as a dog and completely black apart from one white spot on its breast. Perhaps the belief is related to some of the mystery black cats that have been caught in the region.
A banshee like spirit attached to the clans of the Highlands, who could be heard wailing at the bottom of waterfalls before there is death or catastrophe within the clan. Her name means 'the weeper'.
A Highland mermaid whose contact just like that of most mermaids is perilous to man. If captured she would grant 3 wishes.
A green phantom dog who haunted the highland regions. The creature was the size of large calf and could hunt in silence.
The highland water horse of the sea and sea lochs. It would usually appears as a fine horse, anybody trying to mount it would become attached to its adhesive skin. It would then rush into the deepest part of the loch and devour its victim.
A highland water demon which inhabited Loch Na Fideil near Gairloch. The creature used to drag women and children under the water and devour them.
An invisible fairy who sits next to people and eats their food so that they gain no benefit from it.
A shapeshifting water horse that haunted Scottish rivers. It often appeared as a horse but it could take the form of a man and leap at passers by.
Note - recently we got a new art feature on the canal near me in Falkirk. As the big shire horses were very important to the moving of goods through the canal system at the turn of the last century they made part of our new park two giant steel Kelpies in honor of those historical horses who pulled the barges. They are stunning and were finished just in April this year. They are worth a visit if you are in Scotland.

A hideous creature part horse and part man with long sinewy arms. The creature had no skin and its muscle structure and veins could clearly be seen. It had an aversion to fresh water.
A fearsome spirit who haunted the old border castles, he was wiry and small, with Iron claws and a red bonnet. They dipped their hats in their victims blood to give them their red colour.
Seal spirits who could take human form on land. They often intermarried with mortals. The mermaid is tied to this story as well as you will hear versions of mermaid who when they wanted could take full human form and walk on land.
A name given to a group of very dangerous spirits from the highlands. They were known as the unforgiven dead. They were always malevolent and sometimes thought to be fallen angels.
Female water spirits who drag people down into the depths. They dressed in green and had withered faces.
A Shetland supernatural creature with the body of man and a wolfs head. They were said to be benevolent.
Most will now be thinking of the nice version of the Pixar movie Brave where the Scottish legend is leading merida to her destiny and links to a spirit trapped and in need of help. In the folklore it varies across the UK but the idea behind this is that they are lights that lead travellers of the beaten track and usually lead them far away to a place of danger and then the light will abandon them. Some will lead you to a cliff edge, waters edge, into a swap where the wrong footstep will lead to your doom. Some have the light as its own entity and some say a small mist like fairy carries the light hence it is also known as a Jack-O-Lantern. If seen there are things you should do firstly do not follow it obviously. lol Secondly you can turn your coat or hat inside out which seems to confuse them. Or if you happen to wander about with a knife handy put it in the ground with the blade up and the spirit will attack the blade killing itself.
Agreeing with pretty much what Memmnoch121 has said above, Caroline and Klaus isn't going to happen in this lifetime.
When they had a window of opportunity I could see a whole storyline with her redeeming him from his dark side maybe getting through to the nicer bits of her personality but when they split to do the originals and go almost the other side of the country to TVD universe then there was nothing that was going to enable Klaroline the chance it needed.
The final nail in their potential came when he came back and she admitted she had felt something and then I felt like the writers cheapened it as their connection maybe the passionate kiss but not sex in the woods. It lowered the quality of the care that he had constantly shown her and the personality of Caroline. Does anyone else agree? That going all the way and him promising to never come back was just wrong.
It would have been much nicer to have had a mind blowing kiss and a restatement of his desire to be her last love and time would see them in each others path again someday. That could have been even more sensational than just lets just say whatever we need to and have sex. It was a relationship that just jumped to the wrong stage all of a sudden.
The writers seemed to want to draw a line and its very definite that Caroline is not going to join the Originals cast as TVD cast have said they would walk if she left. Also that they perhaps wanted to cast a final touch on the Klaroline possibilities so that folks would pay attention to Klaus's new situation with Hayley and Cami.
I think there is something possibly amazing in the sparks that are Steroline. Sorry Klaroline shippers.
She spent so long being the helpless human and then tried to be tough and still it was save Elena, help Elena, protect Elena. Once she got fangs she was essentially the exact same - in the church she is dealing with her blood lust and lack of feeding right and she is passed like a glass toy being embraced and babied by Stefan and Matt and everyone. Then she was vampire doppel bait for kat, Tessa, then Markos I mean really just how many times and how damsel can you be? She has spent the 2nd half of season 5 just walking around agreeing or doing that awkward smiley lip roll thingy and then neither upset nor bothered by anything.
Also technically and I know this might seem mean but look at all the lives that saving her has ruin/affected?
Caroline was killed and made a vampire by Katherine as retaliation. Jenna was Klaus's back up for a newbie vampire, which also helped ruin alaric. Bonnie has found and lost her magical heritage, her grams died to find out kat wasn't in the tomb, her mum was turned vampire to save Elena and then she died to save her brother and has now officially died twice in the acts of Elena duty. The innocent folks she killed when she turned off her humanity. The uncharted number if times Matt has died and been brought back. John and Isobel are dead from villains after her, pearl and Anna are dead because of her father, mr Lockwood is dead because the opened he tomb and let out the tomb vampires, mrs Lockwood is dead because Tyler who ended up an experiment screwed with the villain klaus, Caroline's dad is dead after he refused transition after being attacked by ric who was possessed by the Gilbert ring, The trauma Jeremy has gone through from the moment she was drawn to date the local vampire and his death while searching for the cure for eh oh let me guess...Elena! Cause her five minutes as a vampire was deserving of the cure, not Caroline, Stefan, Tyler or anyone else like rose etc no not at all. I'm sure I've missed out some big ones that you can recall add them below lol
I liked human Elena more than vampire Elena, since she turned she has been exactly the same and every now and then they stab her in the leg or something to remind us actually she is a vampire just a Woosey one. Lol
Bring on a more confident and proactive even destructive Elena in season 6 but she really needs a character shift.
Don't you think?
Tyler was the only one to come back different to how he went in. Elena & Stefan are still vampires and Alaric is still an enhanced original vampire so it will be during the season 6 or even near its finale that Tyler will trigger the wolf gene or they will need a wolf and he will have to trigger it deliberately to save someone or something.
Matt is the only human left so I kind of like that he is still holding his own. I was really glad to hear at Paleyfest that they are thinking about a long term love interest for Matt in season 6 and also that without the gilbert ring he will need protection but if he stays in town will be vulnerable to any traveller or witch wars that kick off. Maybe he could be a deputy and follow in the sheriff's footsteps? could he become a cop? that would be a better aim for him than going back to the grill if they rebuild that is. Tyler will need an occupation, perhaps he will run for some kind of official office like his parents and keep the lockwood estate running he could go into pro sports with all the workouts he does or even Matt as a personal trainer and sports coach maybe even back at school?
Come to think of it what are Elena and Caroline going to be doing? I mean its great in the land of tv to not have to go to work everyday and do crap jobs but they are going to have to do something to be able to keep buying an endless wear-it-once wardrobe and accessories collection, run their own cars and seem to have all their free time or time whenever they need it. LOL Can I have the job they have? lol O.o >.<
I would rather Tyler stayed a hybrid but its all gone, he is now human again and I don't know after all he went through to get to where he was being the hybrid how he will cope after the initial happy feeling wear off and he realises how vulnerable he is again.
Tyler also can't go back to being a hybrid unless he gets the blood of new baby Hope from The Originals as both the doppels are vampire and it was Elena's blood as a human that allowed the wolves to become hybrids. So he better not re-trigger that curse or he will be set to turn again every full moon with no control over it.
he is just as Killer Kev says a human boy with the un-triggered werewolf gene, so he can't afford to kill anyone.
Actually Ian has been playing devil's advocate and twittering pictures of Damon's headstone and saying things like #GameOver RIP Damon Salvatore. and really selling that Damon and Bonnie although are contracted to be in season 6 it is IF they will be seen in the show as returning to the same universe as the Mystic Falls group or if they will be in flashbacks, memories or a possible theory that some mates on here and I were throwing around and now seems that Wetpaint are thinking the same.
There is a way that Bamon fans might get what they are looking for and Damon and Bonnie would come back as people. If they appear back on earth somewhere else but with no memory of Mystic Falls or anyone there. As humans. Or possibly as other supernaturals but they would still be Damon and Bonnie but it would be what the writers keep going on about is the 'reset, the clean slate' for the group and the town.
I get really stressed the more stuff I read that has stuff that suggests that they won't be back. And we have to go through this till October!
Bonnie is able to do it for Caroline and Elena.
The Salvatores rings were spelled possibly by Emily for them under the request of Katherine. I can't remember but I'm sure that someone here will correct that one.
In the Originals Davina has learned how to do it and has made one for Josh.
The current crew all have one but Alaric will be without unless they can get Liv and Luke back to do one for him. Since they are the reason Damon at least was unable to come through they could try and settle some old wounds with a daylight ring.
They have to be Lapis Lazuli and are individual so you can't put someone else's on and use it.
That's all I can remember about the daylight rings off the top of my head.
The interview states that the gilbert ring will no longer work due to the destruction of the other side.
The magic of the ring came from the fact that the bearer could, if killed by supernatural forces, spend a short time in the other side and then return to the body healed and alive again. Now there is no other side the spell can no longer work. So if Matt dies now its dead for good, unless he has vampire blood in his system or they get him to take some quickly and heal. Makes him very vulnerable. Considering where he lives and who he hangs with that could be a big issue for season 6.
In the second half of season 5 we saw real changes in the Stelena dynamics. Stefan had really seem to turn a corner when he was opening up to Katelena in Total Eclipse Of The Heart. He had spent his time waiting, presumably for the love thing between Elena and Damon to fail. He felt bad about actually wishing it would. But then he admits that he stopped waiting for him to fail and then started liking who his brother had become and it wasn't about elena anymore. He has said many times he will always love her and I think that is true as they were literally destined for each other at the beginning and linked to each other even now.
But her love and conncetion to Damon can't be denied and their bond has become so strong.
I love the little baby steps they are taking with Steroline, it shouldn't be a fast thing, if its to last it should build over a long time. The moments when they slept cuddled in the car, Lexi trying to open Stefan's eyes and Caroline is having an irrational reaction to the idea that stelena is getting back together in promised land episode. She hasn't realised why at a conscious level but it is deffinately there subconsciously.
ALso in total eclipse of the heart episode when Katelena manages to get the embrace from Stefan. It is the expression on both his and Caroline's face that suggests he feels bad that he might have hurt her feelings and she is feeling both sad that he is with elena and guilty as she wants him and elena together and happy.
Then look at the reaction when she thinks Stefan is dead, I mean talk about wake up call. She was willing to without blinking snap necks to get help getting him back and yet was struggling to do that when it came to Tom. She had crossed a line there and was willing to do something she wouldn't normally be able to, for Stefan.
Plec and Dries have said that although Caroline may be realising the feeling she has for Stefan are more than plutonic but there is no guarantee that he will reciprocate those feelings. The grief and pain of loosing Damon could potentially see Stefan pushing everyone to arms length and perhaps adopting a more introspective attitude to relationships and avoid them for fear of more pain and loss. So no hope for steroline in the first half of season 6 but I think I would like to see tiny moments, through out the series that perhaps end on a hoppy moment or dare I say a kiss? lol
What do you think? what have you read?
This article on fashionstlye site suggests that it will be the 2nd half of the season 6 when Caroline realises her feelings for Stefan but plec and the writer have warned that he might not feel the same.
Bustle is talking about steroline and that Damon's death might push Stefan to his darker lonely wolf state in greif and unconsolable pain. He will perhaps push everyone away in his attempt to decide if he is going to fight or accept the loss of his brother. He will feel guilty as Damon came to save him from the other side but in the turn of events was actually trading places with him. Stefan already felt bad when he accidentally passed through Bonnie without Damon arriving back.
Is it maybe Stefan who is the one avoiding the subject at the start of season 6 and unwilling to try as he wallows in pain about it all and maybe Elena as well will accept it as there is no more they can do. Which would leave maybe Jeremy or even Enzo fighting against the tide of acceptance and pain searching for any way to find answers about Bonnie and Damon's fate?
The other thing to note in the steroline story is that Elena has very much become attached to Damon. Although it is different and as they admit its complicated but it was very much a powerful connection. Enough that she would get in that car with him. She has changed too, there was a few episodes and I think she hit the nail on the head that Stefan was still fighting to find the cure as he wanted to fix her to make her human again to make her like she was. Because she wasn't that girl anymore when she became a vampire she was finding out who she really was and he had to let go of the girl he loved. She wasn't the same person and like she says she never felt more alive than when Damon showed her how to be herself again even though she thought being a vampire would destroy her. She tried is Stefan's way and yet she needed Damon and his cold hard clear way of embracing that yes she was a vampire a hunter and a killer but she was also still Elena Gilbert and she had to find her balance. Moderation. That was just what she needed then, which only served to further the bond between them and then the sire bond although it was later broken was another link between them.
So Elena and Stefan have changed, and It appears that they seemed to have crossed a milestone in the passing of what was Stelena. And in a better place for it.
Those who say there is a girl code that Caroline can't go with Stefan but Bonnie went with Elena's brother and technically ELena got with Damon who slept with Caroline first so I don't think that is enough of a reason.
All that matters is that its not a throw away thing, if steroline happens then it should be built on a strong foundation and set to run for a decent amount of time. They are too close and too well balanced to have a fast fling. This is the stuff that could last and be very much a little bit perfect for each other.
All anyone can hope for is love and friendship in any relationship and here's hoping we get to see that for both these characters.
Definitely agree with the writing comment. Discussing it with others and it's like season 4 was when the shift started, and then there were weeks in season 5 where you just aren't riveted to your seats and gasping at the end or during an episode while a sound or word in exclamation escapes your lips. Some said they would just skip an episode or so as it sounded boring.
I will watch it (although if the don't bring you know who back I won't be) it but here's hoping the big reset/clear out from season 5 finale means they are looking at the census from the viewers and going to tackle it.
Thought - henrik you died young could he have carried the witch gene and come back with his mum who did all she did to protect her kids from his fate? I know he was killed by wolves but it was a curveball I could see the writers thinking about.
They always seem to acknnnowledge the gap in the seasons. So when we get back to the group they will have spent the 6 months dealing with and looking for answers from what happened in 5.22.
Some will have accepted the events and moved on and wish others will too and others will still be searching and hoping looking for anything to bring those lost back.
Either enzo will play the mini villain at the start of the series, but there is still the magic spell loop over the town and tyler is human again, Jeremy has lost bonnie and although Alaric is back now he has to come to terms with being the super original he was when he died. So much stuff it will be at least half the series before we even get any steroline and I really want them to kiss! come on team steroline! lol
I asked this earlier tonight. Stefan's dead body is still somewhere when he comes over - they haven't shown if the bodies disappear or what.
I kind of liked him as a hybrid, its like he's gone through so much to get through it and now he's back at square one and vulnerable as a human essentially I think there is no real way for him to go back to being a hybrid, not without doppel blood (none left) or baby miracle (now gone). So that means he has to live as a human and not kill anyone, or becomes a werewolf and then has to go back to turning which he will avoid.
BOoooooo, any spare gilbert rings still rattling around anywhere, I get the feeling he is going to need some protection. lol
