Lynx81 you have your answer already in one brother will step aside. Damon has done that already. For the love of his brother. He was the first to meet Elena. Yet he compelled her not to remember. He told her he loved her. But again he compelled her not to remember. All for his brother Stefan. So she would choose Stefan for she had not the knowledge to know that Damon loves her when she was choosing between the brothers.
So the worse thing that happed for Stefan is her becoming a vampire. Because those compulsions no longer kept her from remembering. An once she started to remember. Plus he broke up withh her. Damon and Elena would never had gotten together if Stefan had not broken up with her.
Which leads to the other side fo the coin. With having broken up with her. He sure had a problem when she sought out to be with Damon. Regardless of the sire bond or not. He cannot except that Elena can and does love Damon.
So to me the biggest surprise the writers could do is to have Stefan step back and not get between the two soulmates. Because in my opinion that is what Damon and Elena are, soulmates.
I am 22 years of age, My name is Angelica Coy, I am a hybrid of a different sorts. I am not one of the undead, I am a Dhamphir. For I have the werewolf gene, An I have been through my first change. I am also born of not only a werewolf but of a vampire. A vampire that had yet to drink its first taste of blood to complete the transition was my father. Sun light does not affect me, I am not immortal but I am very long lived. At least that is what I assume. For there are not many like me that is born as a Dhamphir. I have no particiular crusade, Only one, that is survival. You try to kill me, I will kill you first is my motto.
I like your theory proposed. The part on Elena gives me an idea on one of those dying. That being Jeremey, his death would be just the catalyst that would drive Elena to turn off her humanity.
The second death is harder to pinpoint as to who it will be and is really nothing more then a uneducated guess. Which basically is a overall feel for it.
I am going to say the second death is my opinion is going to be another of the guys and that being Tyler. To throw another angle to the theory. I do not believe it will be Klaus that kills him. But instead someone like Kol that will be the one. Which could very well be the catalyst for Caroline to once again get with Klaus. Which could be an opening to move Caroline over to the upcoming spin off of the Originals.
No it would be the end of the show. If Elena and Stefan got back together. It be too cheesy and contrived in anyway that the writeers came up with.
Rewatch Season 1 and tell me you didn't love Stefan and Elena's relationship. Like it or not, this show was built on how strong their connection to one another was. They've been through terrible spots but always ended up back in each others arms. It's all about this epic love we all want. A love that can survive anything. I don't know how the writers are going to save the story, but her switching brothers is very Katherine-esque (I thought Elena was supposed to be the complete opposite of Katherine.) Don't get me wrong, I love Damon. Yes, Damon has undergone a transformation and yes, he deserves to be loved, but in my opinion it shouldn't be Elena. How is it okay for him to take his brother's love away and ride off into the sunset? What kind of story is that? Anyone remember in a previous season when Stefan specifically told Damon that history was not going to repeat itself conscerning his relationship? I don't know, just my opinion.
From tonight's episode.... Damon could not resist the compulsion to kill Jeremy. Interestingly enough, Stefan could. I remember Klaus saying something about that in a previous season...
ALSO, it's about time Stefan went off on Elena. For all of the fans who think he has a "bad attitude" I'm not sure how you'd feel if your brother/sister stole your love (which also means the person you're in love with left you for your brother/sister) but I'd be beyond furious. He should show that he's not perfect. He's angry and hurt and has every right to be. Perfect Stefan was boring is all we used to hear and now angry stefan is a douche. He just can't win. AND it's about time he got some. Elena got to play with his brother, he shouldn't just be sitting around, licking his wounds, waiting for her to come back. I can't wait to see how the story plays out.
Every week I get pissed and say "I'm not watching this stupid show anymore" and every week I'm glued to my tv dying to know what's gonna happen. Well done, writers, well done.
The one thing you fail to mention is the fact Stefan broke up with her. Regardless if they had dated, he has no claim on her. Elena is free to love who she wants. An he already knew his brother loves her. He also knew she had feelings for Damon also. So why should he act surprise,, arrogance is really the word to described Stefan
Elena said it best in last episode to Stefan, she had become something that was broken and needed to be fixed. She was suffocating in the relationship with Stefan because of that. And that is not love no matter how much you want it to remain the same. There is such a thing as being in love and then falling out of love.
Really what would be infuriating and totally wrong is if the writers swing it back the other way. Now that be lamed.
Commenting on the above post...So then why didn't her love for Stefan become stronger? She said to Damon that the last time she was at the lake house she was soooo much in love with Stefan. Why didn't her love for Stefan get stronger after she turned? Something doesn't make sense.
Her love for Stefan did not get stronger simply because it was not his blood. We will never know if such would have happened for Elena already been turned.
It did show that her love for Stefan was more as a brother to a sister, or a good friend. Not a epic love, for if it was an epic love she held for Stefan. She would never had slept with Damon unless directly ordered to through the sire bond. An at no point did Damon order her directly.
The sire bond does not make her love Damon it merely heightens it. And since it is a love of passion, a love within a romance.
I am curious in how Elena will react and what path she will take once the sire bond is broken.
First a show on the orginals sounds great. It will the TVD world to expand beyond just Mystic Falls and get more in depth with the said original characters.
That saying with it being set some seventy years in the past. The Klaus and Caroline cannot happen. She ain't even born yet.
That is why I asked what character Phoebe is going to play. As her character Hayley also is not old enough to be there also. An speaking of which perhaps that is the first clue in a spoiler that Hayley will die in the upcoming episodes of TVD this season. So people will not be conflicted with Phoebe playing two different characters.
Lets stir the pot, some more. I had no opinion if Hayley was evil or not, answered what I felt when the question was posed. As said by others, the character is a bit secondary sub plot character. That could very well be killed off at any moment and has no other use other then filler.
However, when she snapped Carolines neck, she became one of my favorite characters.
I would not say Caroline has become a better person with vampirism. Its given her more depth and abilities that is about it. Was it good that she accepted the fact to give up Chris. Like Tyler said, Chris was a friend too. That also shows a corruptive influence.
The sire bound what we know.
Hybrids to Klaus - The fact he has given them freedom from having to go through the agonizing shape shift to a wolf on the full moon. They are thankful for such.
A vampire to vampire sire bond - First the the sire blood has to be used. A emotional connection. So far it appears to be in love with the vampire prior while human.
Now until Damon told her to leave. Nothing overt in a form of a command had been done. She didn't break up with Stefan. Stefan broke up with her.
To Dark Robin: Hardly confusing the manner. But you seem to counter everything with a supposition on my positions to validate your own positions. Which you really should stop doing. Its like the kid in a classroom that hears but does not really listen.
As for the humanity switch, it is a laughable term. But a term used to describe the hunger or bloodlust that is a vampire. The need for blood to survive. Suppressing the predator instincts that one gains with becoming a vampire. If you really look at it. The younger you are as a vampire in terms of vampire age. The more likely you will be closer to your humanity. For there are people around that hold you still to that with emotional connection. But as time goes on and those people grow old and die off. The more one hunts and feeds. The temptation to use mind complusion for gain. Or more importantly the need to use it grows. Still as for example Rhebekah with April. New attachments are made through out the ages. For even with being a vampire. They are still social animals that seek out companionship. Which just happens to be the cattle that they feed on to survive.
An your arguement on Elena caring emotional nature. Just how is it more then Carolines or anyone elses. Is it based on that Elena has just about lost every family member save for Jeremy. From the very beginning of season four that has really been pretty lame in the story line. I think most people made a connection with Elena. With her lossess not her compassion. That watch the show. Along with the two hot guys wanting her and if she turn vampire.
Again, many things are possible until the writers decide to reveal the "truth" to us. For now, I would assume the sire bond is real. If it's indeed a compulsion from Klaus, it means Elena has only been pushed into feeling for Damon. I doubt the writers would do that, and you are have a point with donated and animal. But since we have no way to confirming the idea right now, we can only wait and see. When we learned the curse of sun and the moon was fake, we also learned there was indeed a curse. With sire bond, it confirms Elena's feelings for Damon, which no fan of TVD can deny. If it turns out to be compulsion, it'll create a room for saying what Elena's been feeling for Damon is fake, which ruins a lot of their work since the series started, so it's unlikely for them to set the sire bond as compulsion.
Her being pushed into feelings. Is not necessarily true. Those feelings were there to begin with. Besides if Nina loves Damon or Stefan matters not to Klaus, what matters is Klaus getting Elena human so he can make more hybrids.
Plus as I write this response, it occurs to me the likely hood she was compelled is unlikely. For when Connor plagued her in the ghost form to almost having her kill herself. I just asked myself why Klaus didn't compel her then. To not listen to the madness of the curse.
But your right it can't be proven or discounted until its played out in what the writers have play out on the show. But then the fun of it is also to speculate and guess what is going on. For me it is what truly makes the various romances and plots interesting in speculating what direction its all going to go.
Actually it was more like what 70 years 1942 to 2012 lol
A good point; But to counter that, Elena gave us the answer already. It may have been a truly bad batch of blood in the bag.
Plus she had drank from the bag prior to Damon say that perhaps she could not drink blood like that as an explanation.
As for the animal blood. Very few vampires take to dining on animal blood only. I envision that drinking animal blood for a vampire is like a daily diet of McDoubles at McDonalds. Drinking only when they have too. All save Stefan who can't handle drinking human blood. Because he gets like a junky and becomes the ripper.
What really gets me is that Stelena supporters during the Delena time. Keep on forgetting the one fact in that Stefan broke up with her. She did not break up with him. So why should he get upset, he could not handle she had feelings for Damon. Which alone makes Damon the better man. For he knew Elena had feelings for Stefan. Yet stepped back, was the better man going against what he portrays to the world. Which is really his defense from being hurt.
Then he accepts and loves her no matter what. Loves her if she were human or remains vampire. He has no need to fix her.
Finally back to Stefan breaking up with her. The sire bond did not cause that. Damon did not make him do such. Nor did he ask her to break up with Stefan. All he did was try to smooth things out between them. To help the two people he loves.
What I don’t understand is how Elena can be so lucky to have Stefan, can be so loved and cherished, and still take it for granted.
The sire bond had nothing to do with Elena being in love with Damon or him loving her.
Stefan its not a love but more a possessive stalker type between Stefan and Elena. Where he stalks and tries to mold her to what he wants.
Anyways the scenes between Ian and Nina are some of the hottest chemistry on television.
She set up abominations if you think about it. For the cause of finding out information for information on her birth parents. Applied such reasoning to any of the other characters There be no talk about them being evil.
Does it make it right, no not at all. It is the extreme gray area of morality in a vampire and other supernatural creatures story. That what is right and wrong is blurred twisted and not so clear cut as it should be.
I am still waiting to see how the story progresses with Hayley. What comes next, with Atticus, Tyler and Klaus, along with the others.
As for being evil, right now the only character that has really been clear cut evil has been Klaus. Yet he gets a pass, all because he has the hots for Caroline. Yet he didn't have to kill all of them. He could have walked away and concentrated on making more. So Atticus shane used Hayley to use Tyler and ultimately Klaus who would oblige and kill them all.
Hardly hit any nerve over this. Hayley is a secondary character on the show. Likely will be killed off soon as one of the numerous casualties on the show. Through good for speculation on what her further plot input is. Through her being ultimately evil, lol that is lame question, through expected from source.
Actually I see it different in that I have seen growth in Elena. She went from being the victim to being a capable fighter. Able to take care of herself. Evident to this fact is Jeremy trying to stake her at the cabin. This is from her training and evolving from Alaric to Damon. Caroline and Stefan seem to want her to be the same. To be the Elena that needs protection and cannot do for herself.
Then there is talk about her needing to be saved constantly in season four here. For one the Connor story arc is about her going mad. Just as Klaus had done, when he killed all five of the first hunters. Except the difference is Klaus cannot die so easily. She could kill her self from the madness. As for being saved from Connor, she was the one that killed Connor so how did she needed to be saved. They were all threaten by the hunter before he was killed. So that makes no sense in argument.
The bite by a werewolf or the use of the werewolf salvia that is like a poison to poison the beer. Well Caroline herself had to be saved also by Klaus blood. As well as Damon had to. As they all do when bit by a werewolf.
Which leads to my next question. If being a vampire means it heightens who you were as a human in personality. All the fans of Caroline seem to over look the fact she was needy and controlling. She needed to be first and foremost in directing everything. Be it school or town social events. Or having the need to date Matt because he had been Elena boyfriend. Then the need to want Stefan, but then when she couldn't. Taking that need and going to bed with Damon. Yes he used her, yes he turned her into a blood doll and lacky with compulsion. But all the Caroline fans seem discount she initiated and jumped in his bed for her own selfish reasons in needing to be at the forefront. Controling those in her social circle. She had to be the center of all that is going on.
The other thing is Caroline in her obsession in changing Elena back and wanting Stefan with Elena as she calls it an epic love. She doesn't know Damon met her first, doesn't know Damon unselfish love for her. That Elena did not have that love known for it being taken from her with compulsion and then it come flooding back when she turned. As she had not that to make a fully informed decision in choosing at the end of season three.
Finally to me Caroline has taken a step backwards this season. The way they handled her with Tyler and Klaus. The way she is treating her so called best friend Elena. An I am not the only one that is distressed with both Caroline and Stefan in how they have been acting. Stefan getting upset at the end and knocking the chess pieces over. Because Damon went with Elena and others to the cabin in trying to get past the hunter curse with Jeremy and Elena so they could once again be cousins and as adoptive brother and sisters. He still did what he said in sending her away. Even them waking up in bed, they were fully dressed and had not done anything.
Which leads to my theory I have tossed out a few times. That Klaus has compelled both Stefan and Caroline with the need to fix Elena. Because he needs Elena to make more hybrids. Needs Elena to become human again. The question through is there really a cure. Because it seems not, it goes against the witches and nature balance. Not to have used the cure or found it use before now. Since it is hidden with Silas. Who it was witches that entombed him.
The truth I think will come from in the form of Elijah and why he mysteriously disappeared especially with knowing that his sister wanted the death of Elena. As we all know he is just as smitten by Elena as the Salvatore brothers are. So I look forward to when he returns.
To Darkrobin I reference the blood bag and drinking from the vein. Only in regards to wanting to fix Elena with Caroline and Stefan. We have already seen her feed more times then we have seen Caroline actually feed. I reference the party where she showed great control. She also showed control a few times with Matt. Except for the last time when Damon had to pull her literally off of Matt from going to far.
So my question is why do we have to see her feed more. For the most part she has proven she can control her bloodlust. We don't ask the same of Caroline. Why because she doesn't need to be fixed. Because Stefan said he is amazed she can handle it.
The cure, your right the ultimate weapon to cure vampirism. A dead vampire is ultimately a cured human. An Elena is a human that is dead as one should be when the drown. Or with Caroline dead from a violent car crash or the Salavatore brothers dead from gun shot wounds. For vampirism goes against the cycle of nature. An taking it away does not mean that they live.
Happy New Year 2013 to everyone.
Thank you and likewise a happy new year.
One last thing, ask yourself this question. If witches had a cure why hide it or why not go and get it. To eliminate vampirism instead of creating the five hunters. Just a thought on that. Seems silly to kill if you can cure the inflicted ones with vampirism.
