The Mikaelsons as characters are perfect, honestly the best in the series but I feel they don’t work as being the first Vampires. The reason for this does sound stupid but it’s because they aren’t old enough, as the writers kinda gave the proper old one age and title to Silas and Amara who are technically the first vampires. Even when the Mikaelsons meet Silas he beats them pretty easily and he’s not even at full strength, which kinda takes away from the idea that the Mikaelsons are the first and most powerful vampires even though that’s not the case.
What's on your mind?

The Vampire Diaries
So I’m curious about klaus being able to become a hybrid without having doppleganger blood to start instead it was his “first kill” that activated his curse. I am aware that Esther used doppleganger blood to turn her kids into vampires but they still needed to drink just normal human blood to complete the process. For klaus though in order to make any new hybrids he needs a human doppleganger to complete the transition so why didn’t he need a human dopplegangers blood to complete his transition and just a normal kill?
Maybe the answer is easy to find but I'm trying.
In Dangerous Liaisons, Esther with a binding spell and Finn's help, wants to kill her children. As we know, the spell is broken and only Finn dies. That's how we learn when an original vampire dies their entire bloodline dies too.
So my question is, did Esther know that if one of her children died, the bloodline would die too?
Because, she's a powerful witch and she's the one who turned her kids into vampires, so how could she not know ? And if she knew, she really trick Elena by asking her to help.
Sybil already had psychic abilities before becoming immortal with Arcadius's "agreement" she acquired extra abilities such as accelerated regeneration, physical strength superior to that of humans and retractable claws, considering that her psychic abilities were earlier and she acquired immortality later , did she really become a new species? or would it be classified as a psychic-immortal hybrid? after all, the immortality that Arcadius granted was separate from her psychic side.
If a siphoner witch-werewolf born in the Gemini Coven existed in tvdu, would they able control their transformation and able draw raw strength of their werewolf form without a moonlight rings like a werewolf-vampire hybrid or would they still be cursed to turn only a full moon and have raw strength of werewolf form only on a Full Moon? Additionally question, what form of magic could they practice?
Since Elena broke her sire bond to Damon by turning off her humanity, could the hybrids not have done the same? Yeah they’re werewolves but also part vampire, meaning they could turn it off, So why didn’t they to break their sire bond with Klaus?
How come the hybrids all had a sire bond, yet most vampires don't? It's said in TVD that sire bonds are extremely rare. I don't understand why the hybrids are sired. Is it something about being a hybrid?
In the episode where Qetsyah brings together the three doppelgangers for a spell, Silas and also Qetsyah name Amara as a doppelganger, but Amara is the original and has no magic in her like the three others doppelgangers, after all Amara is the first and before being immortal she was a simple human, nature did not fill her blood with magic like the later doppelgangers, Katherine was cured only she had doppelganger magic, and Elena was a vampire, how did the spell work if only one (Katherine) had the doppelganger magic? Wasn't it necessary for the three of them to have magical doppelganger blood for it to work?
What is the point of Alaric coming back, whilst he was interesting in the first three seasons of Vampire Diaries, after he came back to life and was turned human again, what was the purpose of this character? He doesn’t even do anything after that, he’s just there and we have to deal with him for another 8 seasons of the show.
I just made an observation about the enhanced original after returning from the other side he wasn't linked to Elena let alone had any weaknesses exploited when he was created besides Elena, is it really possible that he was "immortal"? I mean in the sense of not just dying, not in a species like Silas, since there were no other weapons besides healing or the purification spell in Mystic Falls.
So with the possibility of the series returning, I thought I could go through a few villains from the book series that could work for the series:
1) the Kitsune twins: these two are the main antagonists from the return book series, and whilst Kitsune Villains have been done before, see Teen Wolf, these two are actually pretty scary when it comes to raw power and what their plan was as in the books they infect all the children in town with a parasite called a ‘Malach’ in an attempt to have them kill all the adults. With a few re-works they could be very dangerous villains and the Malach might be a good way to explain why Josie turned evil, as in the book’s Caroline was patient zero for the Malach outbreak.
2) the jealousy Phantom: this Villain appears in the first book of the Hunter trilogy, aptly titled Phantom’s. She is one of the Original Phantom and as her title suggests she feeds off the jealousy of her victims making them get uncontrollably jealous at other people to the point of attacking others. This would be a good way to give more emotional development to the characters more specifically to Hope, as in my opinion she didn’t have that much development throughout her arc and this villain would be a good way to give her some development.
And 3) The Vitale society: these group is a secret society that occupies the Delcrest college, and is the Primary antagonists of the Second book in of the Hunter trilogy and a minor antagonist in the last book in the trilogy. There main goals throughout these books is to resurrect Klaus from the dead. This one is more of a gateway Villain than anything else, as it would lead to the potential return of Klaus from being dead and it would be fun to see a memory less Klaus fighting Hope, Hybrid vs Tribrid and all.
Directly from Julie Plec herself... it IS a "conversation".
During the "I Was Feeling Festive in Mystic Falls Convention" on December 2nd, 2023, Matt Davis asked Julie "are we going to do The Vampire Diaries: The Movie". Pausing, Julie responded with "Apparently, it's somebody's desire to do that", much to his, and the fan's surprise. When asked about "who", Julie only offers that "it's a conversation being had".
Wonder what this could entail? Is it Post TVD finale? Is it related to Legacies? Oh the possibilities could be endless. Would you even want it to happen, given the number of cast members saying they're 'done'. (Really want Kat to come back as Bonnie or even have her with children). Would it be canon to the series. Or is it a whole new cast in the TVD name to launch the "fourth" series? Who knows. Just something to think about. The current information is kept on the TVDU article!
So, something I’ve been thinking about reading the last trilogy is that is Solomon really dead? He is show to be unique when compared to the Old Ones being able to jump from body to body, and whilst Klaus does to Christian that’s because he was sired by Klaus where with Solomon he is able to do it at random to virtually anyone. So it is possible that he could have just been severely weakened by Elena blood rather than killed by it, some him “dying” was really him leaving his weakened body for safety.
I became a bit confused by how the sirens' mind control worked after ''We Have History Together'' and throughout the remainder of their appearance. Despite it appearing beforehand that Sybil and Seline had no trouble "sirening" vampires as old as Damon, Stefan, and Enzo, why was it that Sybil seemed so unassertive with Caroline in the episode when prior she seemed so fearless and confident. I was confused why she had to resort to manipulation and trickery to get Caroline to do what she wanted, as opposed to just mind controlling her. A few episodes later Bonnie expressed worry Sybil would mess with her and Caroline's minds should they release her from her confinement, implying she should have had no issues mind controlling them. Was it that Sybil, unlike Seline (or so it seemed), needed to come into physical contact with those she wanted to control? Did she have some sort of personal preference towards controlling men? Or, did no longer serving Cade directly weaken her mental powers? I don't know if there was something I missed or not when watching the season.
The Vampire page states that Aerial manipulation, Flying, and Compelling Animals abilities were removed from the plot because the authors found these abilities "too supernatural".
How can I access this explanation of the authors?
If Esther created the vampires and her spell fed them all through her children (meaning their existence depended on her spell) why didn't she use them as an energy source for her magic instead of the Bennett bloodline? after all, all the vampires in the world could give her enormous advantages from having an absurd source of magic.
I’ve just thought of this idea. Ayana Knew full well what Esther was planning, she knew how her spell would work through and through. Even warned Esther that what she was planning was comparable to a plague. So is it possible that Ayana secretly gave the vampire species their weaknesses(minus the WO one) to appease the spirits and Nature? Let’s also not forget that later in the series, Bonnie revealed that it was a spell that kept the Vampires from entering people’s homes without invitation.😎
Okay so I may be dumb and the answer may be obvious but why didn’t Joshua either kill Kai after he killed his siblings instead of sending him to the prison world or why not kill him after the merge? I get needing the drama but like wouldn’t it have been smarter to do so
So I’ve watched this show (TVD) a couple times now and I’m confused about why, in season 1, Damon didn’t treat Henry differently when he and Ric went and found him in Grove Hill. He had been through this horrific experience with Henry during the Civil War and Henry obviously moved to Mystic Falls where Katherine turned him. You would think they would be close. The real meaning of “blood is thicker than water” means the blood from the battle field is thicker than the water of the womb and war binds soldiers with brotherhood. Yet Damon says “I know you. Name’s Henry. You were in the tomb.” Umm that’s it?
Does anyone have an opinion on why Damon treated him like he was a stranger or is this yet another example of poor planning (or no planning) by the writers?
Actress Annie Wersching, best known for her roles in the television shows 24, Bosch and Timeless, has died of cancer. Wersching was 45, her publicist confirmed.
She continued to shoot even after her 2020 diagnosis, with prominent roles in Star Trek: Picard and The Rookie.
Wersching’s husband, actor Stephen Full, issued a statement. “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.
“As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell BYE! until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing. Bye my Buddie. ‘I love you little family…’ “
Jon Cassar, director and producer of 24, also paid tribute. “My heart is broken in more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and a contagious smile. Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away. Annie became more than a workmate, she became a real friend to me, my family and every cast and crew member that worked with her. She’ll be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with. Annie you’ll be missed, you left your mark, and we’re all the better for it.”
Wersching was born and raised in St. Louis by parents Sandy and Frank.
Survivors include her husband and children Freddie, 12; Ozzie, and Archie, 4.
A GoFundMe has been launched to support the family.
