I was going to say that it's been my privilege to watch you grow into the beautiful woman you've become.
Sheila to Bonnie in Home

The family relationship between the Witches, Bonnie and Sheila Bennett.

As Bonnie grew up, she often looked to her grandmother for help. Sheila played a huge role in her life as her mother was not around to do so. Sheila was the one that introduced Bonnie to witchcraft, due to this her father despised the relationship between the two. Sheila still looks out for Bonnie from the Other Side. However, since the Other Side's destruction, the two haven't seen each other again since their heartfelt goodbye scene. Sheila will always love Bonnie and is proud of Bonnie's accomplishments and Bonnie loves her just as much.

They briefly reunite one last time in the series finale. Bonnie, with the help of her entire deceased-witch coven, destroy hell and Katherine by redirecting its hellfire to save Mystic Falls. Sheila gives Bonnie a reassuring look before she and the rest of the deceased-witch coven complete their spell.

Throughout The Vampire Diaries Series

Season One

Bonnie weeps after finding her Grandmother dead.

During the first half of season one, Sheila told Bonnie about being a witch and helped her through it. At first, Bonnie didn't believe her and joked about it with her friends. But, as her powers progressed she became scared, nervous and often turned to her Grams for help. Sheila agreed to help her, and taught her the witchcraft ways and most of the do's and don'ts. Sheila used her powers along with Bonnie to open up the tomb beneath Fell's Church in which the vampires from 1864 had been sealed by Emily Bennett. Both found it draining, and Sheila told Bonnie to hold in there and keep going. Sheila later dies that night from an overload of magic leaving Bonnie depressed and as result, going through a personality change that made her more serious. She started to hate vampires, blaming them for her gram's death instead of the real reason; that her Grams wasn't strong enough to do the spell.

Season Three

In Ghost World, Sheila appears to Bonnie and tells her that the Original Witch unleashed everyone who had unfinished business and that Bonnie has to close the "door", by destroying the talisman of the Original Witch.

Season Four

In Growing Pains, after Bonnie stops her own heart, to go to the other side and pull Elena back, Sheila (in spirit form) warns Bonnie that there will be consequences if she uses dark magic.

In Graduation, Sheila appeared briefly to take Bonnie to The Other Side.

Season Five

In Resident Evil, she appears to Bonnie and tells her something is wrong with the Other Side and that something escaped. She tells her that the witches are afraid of what is happening.

In Home, Sheila briefly appears while Bonnie is on the Other Side. Bonnie insists that she, as the Anchor, can handle it if her grandmother passes through her and comes back to life. However, commenting on how she got to see her grand-daughter grow into a woman, Sheila declines the offer, stating that she found peace knowing that (when the Other Side collapses) Bonnie would too find peace. Bonnie and Sheila hug before Sheila departs, leaving Bonnie standing in the cemetery of Fell's Church.

Season Eight

In Nostalgia's a Bitch, while inside Damon's subconscious, Bonnie goes to see Sheila in hopes that her Grandmother can help her find Damon.

In I Was Feeling Epic, Sheila's spirit aided Bonnie one last time, during her greatest need, to save Mystic Falls from destruction via hellfire. Together, along with the other Bennett witch spirits, they successfully stopped the hellfire as well as destroyed hell in the process.

Season One
(Sheila opens her door to a confused and tearful Bonnie)
Bonnie: I don't know what's happening to me
Sheila: I know, dear.
(Sheila embraces Bonnie and brings her inside)
-- You're Undead To Me

Bonnie: Was our family burned in the witch trials?
Sheila: No, the girls that were persecuted in Salem were entirely innocent. You have to have more than ignorance to trap a real witch.
Bonnie: Then how did we end up in Mystic Falls?
Sheila: Our family fled Salem in 1692 and relocated here. Our ancestors lived in secrecy for over 100 years. It's important that we still do.
Bonnie: Grams, everybody knows that you're a witch.
Sheila: They also know it's absurd. It can't be true. I'm just a cooky lady that teaches occult at the university. No one really believes. They just poke fun, and let 'em. Don't let 'em know the truth.
Bonnie: Where's the witchcraft. I mean, you've been talking history for two days...I want to get to the fun part.
Sheila: It's not meant to be fun. It's real and it's serious, and you must understand it before you practice it....aren't you late for school?
(Bonnie leaves for school and Sheila smirks while she drinks her tea)
(Bonnie frantically storms into Sheila's house and alarms her)
Sheila: What happened to you?
Bonnie: I did something, I don't know. It came from my necklace.
(Sheila recognizes the necklace)
Sheila: Where'd you get that?
Bonnie: It's part of my costume, it's a piece of junk!
Sheila: That piece of junk belonged to one of the most powerful witches of our family. Let me show you.
(Sheila grabs a family photo album, flips through the pages, and stops when she finds the page she was looking for)
Sheila: There she is. Emily Bennett. Your great-great-great-great grandmother. And there's your necklace.
-- Haunted

(At Sheila's house, Bonnie is packing her suitcase and Sheila walks in)
Sheila: You leavin'?
Bonnie: Dad doesn't like it when I stay here too much.
Sheila: Because he misses you or because he doesn't trust me? Your father's problem is he lacks imagination. He thinks I fill your head with my witchy juju.
Bonnie: He's right.
Sheila: He's always right. That's his other problem. [indicates to the crystal necklace] Uh-uh, you need to be wearing that.
Bonnie: I gotta give it back to Caroline. It doesn't belong to me.
Sheila: Yes, it does. It was your ancestor's and now it's yours.
Bonnie: Emily was your ancestor too, why don't you wear it?
Sheila: It didn't find me. It found you. It protected you. A witch's talisman is a powerful tool, don't be givin' that back to anybody.
Bonnie: I just wish it was prettier.
(Sheila shrugs her shoulders and smiles)
-- 162 Candles

(Bonnie is at Sheila's house searching through magic books and Sheila walks in)
Bonnie: Thank God you're back!
Sheila: And hello to you too. What's the matter?
Bonnie: My powers are gone, Grams. I can't do anything even when I concentrate, and there's nothing in any of these books that can help me get them back.
Sheila: Hang on now. Just calm down. Tell me what happened.
Bonnie: I can't...
Sheila: We're keeping secrets now?
Bonnie: I have to. I'm sorry, I promised. Please, help me?
Sheila: Well first of all, there's nothing in any of these that's going to help me you. If you're blocked, it's in here. You gotta clear it out, then you're back in business.
Bonnie: Clear what out?
Sheila: Whatever's got you so scared.
-- Bloodlines

(Bonnie and Sheila sit at a table, conversing)
Bonnie: How did you know where we were?
Sheila: Many things can fuel a witches power. Worry. Anger. After Stefan told me they had taken you, I had a lot of both. Simple locator spell was easy after that.
Bonnie: I'm sorry. About all of this.
Sheila: (with a smirk) Not as sorry as they're gonna be.
(Sheila walks unsteadily to her room. Bonnie gently grabs her arms to guide her)
Bonnie: Hey, let me help you.
Sheila: Oh, I'm fine. You don't need to coddle me, baby.
Bonnie: It was a big spell, Grams. I could tell it took a lot out of you.
Sheila: I'll be fine.
(Sheila continues to walk unsteadily towards her bed as Bonnie looks on with worry)
(Bonnie enters Gram's room carrying a cup of tea for her)
Bonnie: Here you go, Grams.
(Bonnie places the tea on the nightstand and pulls the covers up over Sheila. She looks down at her Grams and gets the feeling that something is wrong)
Bonnie: Grams?
(Bonnie sits down on the bed and starts to shake Sheila)
Bonnie: Grams! Grams, wake up! Grams! Grams! (sobbing) Elena!
(Elena dashes into the room, looking bewildered)
Bonnie: Help! Wake up! She's not breathing! She's just not breathing! Please, wake up!
(Elena runs out of the room and grabs the phone, dialing 911. Bonnie gets up as well)
Bonnie: I'm gonna fix it! It's okay, I can fix this!
Elena: Yes, I need an ambulance to Oak Street. It's an emergency, quick.
[Bonnie grabs the grimoire and flips through the pages, trying to find a spell to bring her Grams back. Elena walks back into the room and gently grabs Bonnie's shoulders)
Elena: Bonnie....Bonnie.
Bonnie: No! No! I can fix it! Grams, I can fix this!
Elena: Bonnie! Bonnie! Bonnie.
(Bonnie continues to sob as Elena wraps her arms around Bonnie, trying to comfort her)
-- Fool Me Once
Season Three
(Sheila appears holding Bonnie's hand after Bonnie casts a spell that allows ghosts with unfinished business to manifest)
Caroline: Oh my God, is that your?
Bonnie: Grams?! I can't believe you're here!
(Sheila smiles at Bonnie while holding her hand)
Sheila: Now, stop your crying we don't have time for tears.
(Sheila looks over and greets Caroline)
Sheila: Nice to see you again, Caroline.
Caroline: Hi, Ms. Sheila!
(Sheila looks back over at Bonnie)
Sheila: A fine mess you've made honey. The witches told you there'd be consequences to bringing Jeremy back and you did it anyway.
Bonnie: I didn't have a choice. I love him and I couldn't let him go.
Sheila: I understand, but you cracked open a door to the Other Side. There's an old witch over, she took advantage of it, she took advantage of you honey. When you did that spell to send Vicki Donovan away, she wedged the door wide open, giving a free pass to anybody with unfinished business.
Bonnie: How do you know this?
Sheila: Witches talk...even on the Other Side. Who do you think makes all the rules?
Bonnie: What does the witch want?
Sheila: That's Original Vampire business, not yours. I don't want you getting in the middle of that. I'm here because you upset the balance of Nature, and it's your duty to set it right. You need to close that door.
Sheila: (to Bonnie) You are stronger than all of this. I'm so proud of you.
-- Ghost World
Season Four
(Sheila appears to Bonnie while she's on the Other Side trying to save Elena)
Bonnie: Grams? What are you doing?
Sheila: You can't be in here. You stay away from this sort of darkness!
Bonnie: Elena needs me!
Sheila: She is not your problem to solve. Now go, before they try to keep you here!
Bonnie: Grams, please!
Sheila: This magic is dark, Bonnie. It is not Nature's plan. Touch it again, and the spirits will unleash their anger in ways that will make you suffer. Stay away. GO!
(Bonnie leaves the Other Side and her spirit returns to her body)
(Sheila appears to Bonnie holding her hand while she's trying to perform a dark magic spell)
Sheila: I warned you child. I warned you to stay away.
Jeremy: Bonnie it worked. Stop.
Bonnie (to Sheila): What's happening? Let me go!
Sheila: I can't...
Bonnie (to Sheila):  Let me go!
Caroline: Bonnie what's happening?
Bonnie: I can't let her go!
Jeremy: Bonnie, stop the spell!
Sheila (to Bonnie): You made your choice. Now they're taking it out on me.
Bonnie: I'm sorry grams!
(Sheila screams in pain as the darkness takes over her spirit)
Bonnie: Please, don't do this to her! NO! NO! NO! Oh my God! What'd I do?! What I'd do?!
-- Growing Pains

Sheila: You have to put up the veil.
Bonnie: Not yet.
Sheila: What are you doing, Bonnie?
Bonnie: I can bring Jeremy back. I can keep him here!
Sheila: No, you can't!
Bonnie: Elena needs him. This was always the plan. Jeremy wasn't supposed to die.
Sheila: It was the will of Nature. There is no magic in this world that is strong enough to challenge it.
Bonnie: I have every magic!
(Sheila scoffs)
Bonnie: I have the spirits!
(Bonnie uses her powers to light up several candles and begins chanting)
Sheila: Stop it!
Bonnie: I have expression...
Sheila: Stop it, Bonnie!
Bonnie: I have the darkness...
Sheila: Bonnie, don't...
(Bonnie's veins begin to darken as she channels dark magic and Sheila disappears. Bonnie continues to chant and later faints)
(Bonnie awakens disoriented and confused and Sheila appears behind her)
Sheila: I'm sorry, Bonnie. The was just too much
(Sheila steps aside and reveals Bonnie's lifeless body)
Bonnie: Oh my God. I'm dead?!
-- The Walking Dead
Season Five
(Bonnie feels a chill, smiles, and Sheila appears to Bonnie on the Other Side)
Bonnie: Hey Grams.
Sheila: I heard the Travelers did a number on you last night.
Bonnie: Did you read that in the Other Side newsletter?
(Bonnie looks at Sheila with worry)
Bonnie: Grams, you don't look right.
Sheila: Something's wrong over here Bonnie. Some of the witches think the Travelers overwhelmed you so someone could get through.
Bonnie: As in come back?
Sheila: Whoever it is he's hiding from us, and now this place is--
(Bonnie and Sheila hear a shaking and thunderous sound on the Other Side)
Bonnie: That wasn't creepy...what's going on over here?
Sheila: I don't know but whatever the Travelers did and whoever managed to get through, its got the witches scared.
-- Resident Evil

(Sheila appears to Bonnie from the Other side after Jeremy leaves the room)
Sheila: Please, tell me more about this special spell that your friend Liv has concocted.
Bonnie: I know I shouldn't lie.
Sheila: He deserves the truth Bonnie. It's not getting any better over here! People are getting are getting swept away and when this place goes, you are going with it.
Bonnie: I know I have to tell him I just need a few more days with him before I t---
(Sheila walks over to Bonnie but accidentally bumps into a lamp in the process)
Bonnie: How did you do that? How did you move that? You can't move things from the Other Side...that doesn't happen.
Sheila: That's what I'm trying to tell you. This place is falling apart! Tell him, soon! False hope doesn't protect him. It protects you.
-- What Lies Beneath

(Bonnie is on the Other Side standing near Sheila's grave trying to make contact with her. Sheila appears shortly after)
Sheila: Didn't I teach you not to rush your elders? We move a little slower.
Bonnie: Thank God! I found us all a way out.
Sheila: You think I was born yesterday? I know what you're doing. You cannot survive all these people coming through you and even if you could, when it's all said and done, you're still the anchor and when this place goes away--
Bonnie: I know what you're about to say
Sheila: No you don't. I was going to say that it's been my privilege to watch you grow into the beautiful woman you've become.
Bonnie: You need to pass through me when the ritual begins.
Sheila: No. I'm staying here.
Bonnie: Grams you can't. This place is imploding and taking everyone with it!
Sheila: I can't come Bonnie. You're not the only member of this family who knows how to make a sacrifice.
Bonnie: What does that mean?
Sheila: It means that I'm gonna be fine. I found peace because I made sure that you'll find yours.
Bonnie: I don't understand...
Sheila: Not your concern. Just know I looked out for you.
(Sheila walks over and hugs Bonnie)
Sheila: I love you Bonnie. You stay strong.
Bonnie: I love you.
(Sheila walks away into a white light, finding peace)
