Commonwealth Day is a fall-related celebration in Mystic Falls that brings people together. Some attendees even dress in colonial attire. Lizzie also mentions that during the holiday, there is a full historical reenactment performance.

Season Two[]

In That's Nothing I Had to Remember, Mystic Falls begins setting-up for Commonwealth Day celebrations. The team is led by Councilman Roberts, but includes Hope, Ethan, Rafael, Landon and Alaric. Whilst setting up, Ethan and Hope begin growing closer, and Ethan tells Hope that if she ever wants to see him, to simply ask him out.

Meanwhile, Lizzie asks Hope about the Malivore portal, which lies under one of the tables they have set for the day. Lizzie questions how the jogger was able to come through if Hope was watching, and Hope tells her that nobody has come through. Nevertheless, the two devise a plan to watch it more closely.

At the end of the celebrations, Hope and Rafael talk, with Rafael admitting that he has always had feelings for Hope and it is not fair on Landon for the two of them to spend time together. Freya arrives as Hope begins to cry, having remembered her as a result of Josie's spell.

Trivia[]

  • Commonwealth Day is an annual celebration of the Commonwealth of Nations, often held on the second Monday in March and marked by an Anglican service in Westminster Abbey, normally attended by Queen Elizabeth II. The holiday in Legacies seems independent of this holiday.
