I don't know how long I have, but I had to see you to thank you. For visiting me and for talking to me. Josh, I was always there.

Davina Claire is a powerful witch and former main character of The Originals. She is also a former Harvest girl from the French Quarter Coven born and raised in the French Quarter of New Orleans. She is also the former Regent of the Nine Covens, and a former member of the Sisters, a dark coven of witches loyal to the Strix. With an absent father, Davina views Marcel Gerard as the "father figure" in her life following her mother's murder during the Harvest. Following her resurrection by the Hollow, she and Kol Mikaelson moved to San Francisco, California and eventually married.

Marcel learned about the Harvest Ritual from Sophie Deveraux which involved the sacrifice and apparent resurrection of four young witches chosen as Harvest girls by the French Quarter Coven Elder Bastianna Natale. Marcel intervened and stopped the ritual prematurely and, throughout Season One, she became the main subject of a power struggle between the witches and vampires of New Orleans. The incomplete ritual imbued her with incredible magic that became increasingly difficult for her to control. Angering the witches further, Marcel used her power, as well as her anger toward the witches, to his advantage, by monitoring and restricting their use of magic in the Quarter. When the consequences of unfinished Harvest began to affect the Quarter at a catastrophic level, she accepted her fate and realized that she had to be sacrificed. Following the Reaping, however, she nor the other Harvest girls were resurrected as Celeste Dubois hijacked the energy from the ritual to resurrect three other powerful, deceased witches. After Céleste's death in Le Grand Guignol, she was resurrected and rejoined the French Quarter Coven.

During Season Two, Davina is the last surviving Harvest witch and still seeks to end Klaus, wanting to use the recently resurrected Mikael as a weapon against the Mikaelsons. However, before she releases Mikael to do her bidding, she seeks to undo Klaus' sireline, so that Marcel and Josh will not be killed along with him. While she labors over the spell to perform this, she meets and falls in love with Kol Mikaelson, in the body of Kaleb Westphall, though he's eventually killed by Finn Mikaelson, who was possessing Vincent Griffith. In order to obtain the power necessary to resurrect Kol, Davina accepts the role of Regent over the nine covens of New Orleans, giving her access to the collective power and knowledge shared by the Ancestors.

As an internal struggle of power among the witches progresses in Season Three, Davina takes drastic measures to quell a threat against her life and orders the execution of a rebellious witch, ultimately leading to the massacre of many others. Eventually, her actions come to light and she is shunned by the nine covens of New Orleans, losing her connection to the Ancestors. Still seeking power to unlink Josh and Marcel, as well as to resurrect Kol, she joins a coven of dark witches in service to the Strix, the Sisters, eventually succeeding in both of these goals. However, for her continued betrayal of the witches and sympathizing with vampires, the Ancestors use Kol's resurrection to curse him as revenge, which leads to him tragically killing her. In an attempt to resurrect her, she's consecrated to the Ancestral Plane, though her soul is shredded by the Ancestors, a fate worse than death. However, pieces of Davina's soul remained and Vincent was able to conjure them in full. In a last-ditch effort to thwart the Ancestors, she successfully untethers the Ancestral Plane from New Orleans by activating the Dépôt D'argent preventing further interaction with the living witches.

During a second Harvest Ritual in Season Four, Davina's remains were channeled by Vincent, asking her to accept the Harvest sacrifices and resurrect the new, four young French Quarter witches. She accepted and the girls were resurrected, reestablishing the link between the Ancestors and the living witches. During the ritual, Vincent also made her the gatekeeper of all the Ancestral Magic of New Orleans. However, as the Hollow grew in power, she was resurrected by and linked to the Hollow in order to leverage Kol's loyalty. After she was unlinked from the Hollow by Hope Mikaelson, she and Kol left New Orleans and then moved to San Francisco.

Davina is a member and the last surviving witch of the Claire Family and a relative to the Mikaelson Family due to her marriage with Kol.

Early History[]

She presumably grew up in the French Quarter with a single, controlling mother, as her father abandoned them before Davina was born. Davina went to public school with a boy named Timothy, whom she met at age 10, and for whom she developed romantic feelings. It was mentioned that she took piano lessons. Davina was also best friends with Monique Deveraux as they were both members of the French Quarter coven. She was eventually chosen as one of the four young witches for the Harvest ritual.

On the day the Harvest was to be completed, Davina and the other Harvest girls were deceived by the Elders regarding their fates and the events surrounding the sacrifice. They were told that the knife that was used on their palms for the blood sacrifice would put them in a peaceful limbo. Instead, Bastianna Natale, the lead Elder performing the ritual sacrificed the girls by slitting their throats. As the last girl to be sacrificed, Davina witnessed the slaughter of the other selected girls, and was restrained by a fellow witch in her coven so she could not intervene. She felt betrayed by the Elders, as well as her mother, who stood by and witnessed the devastation and slaughter.

However, when Marcel and his vampires appeared, they effectively ended the ritual by killing the majority of the witches in attendance, including her mother. In doing so, Marcel saved Davina's life. Marcel spent the next eight months hiding her from the witches, and using her powers to help keep the witches in subjugation out of punishment for what they did to her and the other girls.

Throughout The Vampire Diaries Series[]

In The Originals One of Marcel's daywalkers attends to Davina. She tells her that the witches are quiet and opens the window of her room, so she can look outside and get some fresh air. The daywalker denies her request out of fear that she will be discovered by the witches. Davina becomes infuriated that she is constantly told what she can and cannot do, and she angrily throws the vampire through a window with telekinesis.

Throughout The Originals Series[]

Davina TO 1x01

Davina experiments with her powers.

In Always and Forever, Davina is experimenting with her powers when Marcel comes and asks her about the witches. She says they haven't used magic as they know she can sense them if they do and voices her concern that the Originals might hurt him. Marcel says she has nothing to worry about, as she's stronger than they are.

In House of the Rising Son, it is revealed that Marcel gave Davina Elijah's daggered body, which he received from Klaus as a gesture of good faith. When Rebekah insisted that Marcel give her back her brother, Marcel took her to Davina's room and told her that she has not been very nice to him. Davina took Marcel's side and threw her out the window with telekinesis. The next morning, Marcel found her drawing in her room. She informs him that she's worried about Marcel as a result of the Originals being in town, and insisted that they shouldn't be in New Orleans. Marcel replied that it appeared that the Mikaelsons came to town to stay, and asked Davina if she could find a way to kill an Original.

In Tangled Up In Blue, Davina tried to stop Sophie's locator spell and weakened Katie with her magic. She is able to link herself to Marcel to save his life, but was weakened as a result. She tried to find out where Sophie was, but wasn't able to track where her magic was coming from. When Marcel arrived to thank her, she assumed that it was Klaus and/or Rebekah who tried to kill him, but he informed her that it was actually Klaus who saved him. He told her he planned to give Elijah back to Klaus, but Davina refused to allow him to give Elijah back until she figured out a way to kill them.

1x04 Girl in New Orleans-Davina-Marcel

Davina and Marcel at the festival.

In Girl in New Orleans, Davina undaggers Elijah accidentally. Even though Marcel tries to give Elijah back to Klaus, Davina denies him the request, as she was not done with him yet. She had discovered that daggers hurt them, but didn't kill them. Davina convinced Marcel to allow her to attend the Dauphine Street music festival, on the condition that she must hang out with Cami, and that his nightwalkers would keep watch on both of them, just to be safe. Davina happily wonders on the street. She enters the Rousseaus' with Marcel meets Cami. Davina admits her romantic feelings for Tim to her, who was being compelled by Klaus to spy on Marcel. As a result of Klaus' compulsion, Cami encouraged Davina to talk to Tim. Even though Davina dismissed the idea at first, thinking it was stupid, she agreed eventually.

Following her advice, Davina met with Tim in St. Anne's Church, where she had been living since the Harvest. She was happy to see Tim again. Tim asked her how she'd been and if she'd come back to school. Davina told him that she'd to take care of important matters and she would not be coming back to school anytime soon. She said that she missed seeing him, listening to him as he played his violin. He started to play a song for her, but Klaus appeared and tried first to kindly convince her to join his side instead of Marcel's. As Davina believed that Marcel was protecting her and refused to join his side, Klaus threatened to kill Tim, which angered Davina so much that she unleashed her powers on him, bursting the church's windows, and destroying a lot of the pews. This did not injure Klaus in the slightest, but Tim was critically wounded. Klaus manipulated Davina by offering to feed Tim his blood to heal him, and to compel him to forget everything that had happened in exchange for her help in the future when he is in need of it. He eventually left Davina alone at the church, and when Marcel found her and asked her what happened, she was too angry to tell him. When she arrived back in her room, she found that Elijah had awoken from being daggered, after she had removed the dagger to examine it, not knowing that by doing so, the dagger would no longer be coated in white oak ash and thus ineffective.

Elijah taste Davinas Blood

Elijah and Davina.

In Sinners and Saints, the episode opened with Davina and Elijah talking. Given the Original's desiccated state, Elijah can barely contain his bloodlust, as his enhanced hearing causes him to hear the blood pulsing throughout Davina's body, thinning away what self-control he has. Noting this, she tempted him by offering him her blood, which he refused to take on account of her being, in his words, a "child." After Davina deliberately pricked her finger with a hatpin and offered a dribble to Elijah, he could no longer resist, and drank the small drop of blood, which left him completely rejuvenated. He asked her why she's siding with Marcel, so she explained what happened to her eight months prior to the beginning of the show: she had been chosen as one of four girls to participate in the Harvest ritual, where the witches of the French Quarter restore their connection to their ancestors' magical power by offering them the lives of four teenage witches. This offering was to appease their ancestors, who, in turn, would resurrect the four young witches and increase the amount of magical power the coven could access in order to help the witches better fight against the vampires.

Davina and Elijah4

Davina tells Elijah about her friends.

Davina witnessed her three friends, Monique, Abigail, and Cassie all being sacrificed in the ritual, but she was saved at the last possible moment by Marcel, which prevented her from meeting the same fate. The magical energy of the three other Harvest witches who died were transferred to her, which is what gave her such immense power. Feeling betrayed by her own kind, Davina became what Marcel called "an ace up his sleeve," and helped him keep control over the witches by keeping him informed every time she sensed a New Orleans witch doing magic. She told Elijah that since the Harvest, all she wanted was a normal life, free of magic. She began to be overwhelmed by her feelings, which resulted in her magic shaking the entire church, as there was an earthquake. Elijah saw that Davina was struggling to control the immense amount of power inside her, and offered to help her gain control by allowing her to look at various pages of his mother's grimoires. During her time with him, Elijah also took the time to help repair Tim's violin so that Davina could give it back to its rightful owner.

Davina 4 TO 1x06

Davina unlinks Sophie and Hayley.

In Fruit of the Poisoned Tree, Elijah helped Davina gain more control over her magic by giving her a page of Esther's grimoire which contained an unlinking spell called the Spell of Unknotting. His intention was that Davina could use the spell to unlink Sophie and Hayley, though he did not tell her that this was the case. He did tell her that if she could successfully complete the spell, he would bring her another page of the grimoire that contains a spell of her choosing. At first, Davina seems to have some difficulty completing the spell, due to the fact that it is in Latin, and not her usual French, but after some practice, she understands it more. Davina tried the spell once more and successfully unlinks Hayley and Sophie, which saved the life of the unborn Hope Mikaelson.

Marcel and Davina.

In Bloodletting, after Marcel learned that Josh had been compelled by Klaus to spy on Marcel, he brought Josh to Davina's bedroom so she could undo Klaus' compulsion. She informed Josh that it would be a painful process, but Josh agreed, knowing that the alternative would likely be his death. He asked how much pain he would feel, so Davina began the spell to undo Klaus' compulsion to demonstrate. After she had worked on the spell for a while, she felt bad about Josh's discomfort and gave him a break to catch his breath. She told him, "You need to think of something else. Take your mind off it. Do you like music?" Josh replied that he couldn't think about music at the moment, because she has been giving him "a voodoo lobotomy." Davina continued to try to distract him by asking him more questions; when she asked him if he likes Jazz, he admitted that he listens to club music. Davina pointed out that she's only sixteen, so she isn't allowed into clubs.

Josh then told her that when he was her age, he had already been in a hundred clubs, and admitted that things were much different now, since he became a vampire; he claimed now all he wanted to do was meet boys, feed on their blood, and earn a daylight ring so he would no longer have to only go out at night. Davina informed him that she preferred classical music, such as Puccini, Bach, Mozart. She said she even took piano lessons as a child, and confessed that she missed being able to play it; since she's in hiding, Marcel did not want her to play piano in case the noise revealed her presence in the church. She insisted that it wasn't Marcel's fault, because she knew he was just trying to keep her safe from her "coven of psycho witches who want to sacrifice [her] in a blood ritual." Josh apologized for everything that Davina had been through, but she told him not to be, because she planned to destroy them all, and once they were gone, she believed everything would go back to normal, so she could have her old life back. After she finally removed Klaus' compulsion from Josh's mind, she proudly informed him that he was free. She confessed that Marcel told her she had to erase Josh's memories of Davina, so he couldn't expose her identity to the witches, but she didn't want to, because she enjoyed his company, as she has very few friends. Josh promised her that he would keep her secret because he owed her his life, and they pinky-swore it, which began their friendship.

Josh and davina

In Reigning Pain in New Orleans, Klaus regained his title as King of New Orleans, and ordered Marcel to have her moved from her attic to a room in the Abattoir compound. Davina was resistant at first, but Marcel convinced her to trust him to make things right. She meets Hayley. It is at the compound that she learned that Agnes was killed by Elijah, which meant that she was no longer in any danger, because Agnes was the last remaining Elder, and without her, the Harvest could not be completed. At the compound, she is reunited with Josh, who had been trying to keep a low profile after joining Marcel's failed effort to take down Klaus. Davina and Josh had a friendly conversation, and he revealed that he had sneaked back to the attic at St. Anne's to retrieve Tim's violin, which Davina mistakenly left behind during her move. Once she learned that Marcel had lied to her, she snuck out of the compound and rushed to Cami's to get away from Marcel and Klaus. When Cami doesn't recognize Davina, Davina realizes that Cami has been compelled to forget her, and assured her that she could fix Cami, though it would hurt.

In The Casket Girls, Camille, Davina, and Josh were on the run, after finally removing Klaus' compulsion from Cami's brain. Feeling betrayed by Marcel and refusing to be used by Klaus, Davina searched for a way out of the French Quarter to hide, as she was sought after by both Klaus, Marcel, and the vampires, as well as Sophie, Sabine, and the witches. Cami and Davina set off, going down the streets and later, to the St. Anne's church. Suddenly, Sabine and three witches attack them and knock down Cami. Angry, Davina lifts them up and snaps their necks. In the meantime, Josh received a phone call from Klaus, informing him that Klaus had Tim in his custody, again, which ultimately lured Davina back to the Abattoir. At the compound, a confrontation began between Davina and Klaus. Davina incapacitated Klaus first, by breaking his bones and forcing him to partially shift into a werewolf. She then used her magic to drop Elijah on his knees, before she caused him to cough up all the blood he had drank throughout the centuries. Rebekah arrived with Josh and incapacitated Marcel by stabbing him through the heart with a metal pike before Davina could punish him. Rebekah attempted to win Davina's trust by appealing to her, woman-to-woman, but they quickly realize that Klaus had compelled Tim to kill Davina and himself by drinking poisoned water. Marcel counters Klaus' plan by having a protection spell placed on Davina by Sabine. A weakened Davina is carried to her room by Rebekah and Marcel.

In Après Moi, Le Déluge, Davina is feeling the effects of the incomplete Harvest. Containing the full power of the Harvest she begins to hemorrhage magic. Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire threaten to destroy the city. She is still angry at Marcel because of the previous events of the episode. Rebekah comes in and makes her fall asleep by injecting a sedative into her body. Sophie convinces everyone the only way to save the city is to finish the Harvest. Marcel initially refusing to allow Davina's sacrifice, took her to an unknown location. Rebekah, with Thierry's help, found them and convinced them to complete the ritual. Before her death, Davina forgives Marcel because he saved her and accepts her fate, because she thinks that it would be selfish to take everyone else with her. Her throat is later slitten by Sophie to complete the Harvest, but she does not come back. She is left to be mourned by who watched it.

In Dance Back from the Grave, Marcel was still mourning the loss of Davina. He informs Cami of her death.

In Le Grand Guignol, Davina is resurrected through Céleste's death.

In Farewell to Storyville, Davina feels uncomfortable after her journey into death. She said that unlike the three other girls who were sacrificed during the Harvest, the ancestors hated her because she escaped the Harvest and because of her alliance with Marcel and the vampires. They said that they would torment her if she continued to use her magic against the witches. She is completely lost and doesn't know who she can trust. When Cami tries to talk to her, Davina tells her that nothing that she learned in books will help her. She becomes angry when Marcel asks her to help Rebekah, believing that he is using her yet again. Finally, Marcel returns her to the witches so that Genevieve can lower the Boundary spell on the City of the Dead.

In Moon Over Bourbon Street, Davina is having a tough time fitting back into the witches' society. She can't use her magic because she hasn't been trained by the dead witches and Monique reminds her constantly that she chose to side with the vampires and shouldn't be one of them. She later meets Josh and tells him about it as well that she is regretting Marcel's decision to bring her back to the Coven. At Elijah's party, the werewolf Oliver flirts with her and is about to ask her to dance when Monique comes and steals him from her. Later, she returns to the garden with Josh and he convinces her that what her family thinks doesn't matter, using the story of his first and only boyfriend and his family's reaction to demonstrate it.

He then helps her to make a dead rose from earlier alive again. When Monique returns to the garden, Davina has returned all the garden's roses to life, showing that she once again has control over her magic.

In The Big Uneasy, Davina along with Abigail and Monique are seen chanting and she sees Monique channeling the Ancestors and she tells them it's time to kill Genevieve. During the festival, after Abigail and Monique show their abilities to control the Elements, Davina sets off fireworks with the Ancestral Element of Fire, making the audience cheer loudly. She also runs into Elijah and doesn't seem happy, as Klaus is still alive and Tim is dead forever. She is seen at the offering and is given no gifts, thanks to Genevieve and Monique's planning. Monique continues to smile smugly at her, so she decides to leave. She sees Josh and is happy to see him there, but Klaus shows up and unwillingly drags him. Klaus defends Davina and says it's unfair that she didn't get anything. He gives her a gift to win her over and after refusing it at first, Klaus says he will pardon Josh, so she accepts it. Davina opens it and discovers that it's a spell for daylight rings.

Davina trying to contact Tim.

In A Closer Walk With Thee, Davina is seen with fellow harvest girls and Genevieve, who teaches them about the spiritual world. Davina tries to communicate with Tim. So, she convinces Abigail to help her do it. The first attempt was unsuccessful. However, later that day, Mikael from the Other Side comes and tells her Tim has moved on and that he can help her take down Klaus if she can bring him back to life.

In The Battle of New Orleans, Josh and Davina are sitting outside in the sun, with Mikael's ghost haunting Davina. Davina tells Josh that she put a cloaking spell on Marcel and that Josh needs to get out of New Orleans, as there's more than just Klaus to worry about, while eyeing the location Mikael's ghost had been mere moments before. However, before Josh could escape, Klaus attacks him and bites him in order to force Davina to assist him in the hunt for Marcel. When Davina hesitates, Klaus responds by not curing Josh once he learns what he wants, saying that Josh will be cured later, to ensure that Davina doesn't do anything to help Marcel. As Davina tends Josh and promises to keep him alive, Mikael once again appears, and derides her efforts to cure Josh, noting that, even if she succeeds, it will just happen again and again, until Klaus eventually kills him. When Josh awakens, Davina tells him that she's going to fix him.

In From a Cradle to a Grave, Davina arrives at the compound to find the vampires have been bitten by werewolves and are dying. Marcel is among them and Davina says that she needs Klaus' blood. She goes to where Klaus and Marcel had fought and performs a spell to gather what blood he spilled. However, there is only enough for one person, and Marcel forces her to choose Josh over him. She starts to cry. Davina accompanies Marcel and Camille to a storage room where Father Kieran had stored many dark objects and other tools that he could use as weapons against the supernatural. She finds and gives the devil's star to Marcel to make Klaus bleed. Recognizing several objects as having been spelled by witches, Davina takes some to use in her ritual to revive Mikael. With Mikael revived, he slaughters the remaining vampires in the compound before finding the White Oak Stake so that he could kill Klaus. However, Davina had tied Mikael to one of the objects that she had used to resurrect him and revealed that he was now enslaved to her. She takes him to the attic where he had been imprisoned and tells him that he will remain there until she is ready for him to punish Klaus, and not a second before.

Normal TheOriginals201-1263Davina-Kaleb

Davina meets Kaleb.

In Rebirth, Davina has returned to high school after telling her coven that she was done with them. She is first seen in an old record shop, which she frequently goes to. While speaking to the owner, she noticed a young man, who leaves, only for Oliver to come in. He greets Davina, but she dismisses him, and tells her to leave, however, she doesn't do so. As more werewolves come in, it is revealed that the owner is a vampire and according to the new rules of the city, they are sentenced to death. As the wolves attack him, Davina uses her powers to stop them, giving him time to escape. She later goes to St. Anne's Church where she gets annoyed at Mikael's attempts to show off, before she feeds him and tells him that she will only let him kill Klaus when she finds a way to free her friends from Klaus' sireline. The next day, she returns to the store to find it closed. A young man comes up to her and after a few comments on her music taste, introduces himself as Kaleb. Davina reveals her name and shakes his hand.

Marcel and Davina reunited.

In Alive and Kicking, She is first seen heading to the attic after leaving a shop. Davina is still trying to unlink Marcel and Josh from Klaus' sire line, with Mikael mocking her attempts but at the same time offering his help. Davina rejects it, expressing paranoia that Mikael will trick her into breaking her control over him. She receives a text from Kol, inviting her out to coffee. As she leaves that attic to go meet him, it is revealed that Kol sent the message to distract her while he went there, however, he was unable to enter because she'd locked the attic door with a spell, leaving Esther to speculate about what Davina was hiding. Marcel later contacts her and she goes to meet him, reuniting with him. She hugs him and tells him that he was stood up by a guy. He asks her to find the White Oak Stake but Davina promptly refuses, stating that she wouldn't find it just for it to be handed over to the Originals. Elijah steps in to further attempt negotiation but she condemns his and Klaus' actions, and leaves. Elijah realizes she has the stake however and informs Marcel.

Davina vs. the werewolves.

Davina goes back to the attic and continues to work on her spell, and reminds Mikael that she owns him. Davina and Kol go on a date later that night, and get to know each other. Davina tells him about her relationship with her family. He compliments her and reveals that he is also a witch, saying that he admires her for telling her coven to shove it, noting a number of similarities between them. Marcel keeps trying to call her and she excuses herself to take the call, arguing with Marcel about her possession of the stake and telling them that she's leaving the bar and to not try and find her, but Marcel and Elijah continue after her. She returns inside to Kol, with the place being cleared out for a 'private party', but a number of wolves attack Davina. Davina takes one down, however, it's revealed that there's more of them. She gets thrown and is put in a position when she must call for Mikael, who arrives and kills several of the wolves before Davina accidentally loses her bracelet for a moment. Mikael tries to kill her but is stopped by Elijah, and Davina regains control of Mikael with the aid of Marcel before the Original can kill his son. She sends him back to the attic while Elijah, Marcel, and Kol look on in horror, before leaving herself.

In Live and Let Die, Davina takes Mikael to her family's abandoned cabin, so they can hide from Klaus while she can finish her spell. Mikael keeps reminding how weak and fearful she is, while Davina replies that despite this, she is still in charge. She and Mikael spar for a few moments after he tells her that he can overcome werewolf venom and seemingly is not affected by it. He tells her that he was her age when he started being taught by his father and that he would have rather torn every muscle rather than let him see him strain. Davina, in the middle of stick-fighting with him, tells him that her mother tried to sacrifice her and her father took off when she was born before springing her ankle and complains, but Mikael tells her to get up unsympathetically, saying that the "ability to endure pain is the warrior's true weapon, master that and nothing has power over you" letting her know that that is how she is supposed to be strong. He harshly orders her to get up and Davina complies.

Davina vs

Davina sparing with Mikael

Davina gets back to the cabin and calls Kol to help her out with her ankle. He arrives and applies a horrid-smelling ointment from injury. Davina feels that the pain is gone and tries to stand only to fall, who stops her from falling down. He changes focus to Davina's unfinished spell, asking her what's she's up to. Davina hesitates, making Kol remark that she's distrustful. Davina asks him if he trusts her. Kol tells her that she won't fool her and amuses her by joking.

Davina feels tired, so she goes to sleep as Kol searches her house for the White Oak Stake. After being threatened by Mikael, he goes to Davina to de-spell her bracelet. However, Davina awakens before he does so and gets a text message from Camille, who warns her that Klaus is on his way. She tells Kol to help her with a spell, which they begin to do in the living room as Klaus' car pulls in to the driveway.

Davina and Kol casting the Illusory Spell

As Klaus looks into the window of the room where Davina and Kol are but sees nothing, implying that Davina and Kol are doing a spell.

Klaus almost leaves before he sees the crest of his Viking People on a fighting staff and he throws the stick into the window. The window shatters and Davina and Kol fall back before it can kill them, but Davina is knocked out in the process. As Klaus demands she let Mikael out from outside the house, Mikael sees this as a chance for Kol to disable Davina's bracelet, and Kol obeys after being threatened.

In Red Door, Cami and Kol check on Davina. Cami plans to take her to a hospital. Kol strokes Davina's hair and makes her sleeping comfortably after the Hybrid leaves to chase Mikael, he tells her that she should wake up so they can escape together. Davina awakens in the house, finding out from Kol that Klaus had previously been there and left to chase after Mikael. After trying to summon him with her bracelet, Davina realizes that Mikael will kill Klaus, so she decides to start her spell.

Kol says that he's impressed that a wee girl like her could make up a difficult spell, offending Davina, who tells him that she can give him a list of people who've underestimated her and never did it again. Kol offers her his help in the spell to unlink her friends. She refuses at first, thinking that there's nothing he can do as the spell must be done in reverse, binding a linking and sirebond spell and then using the Incantation in reverse, thus unlinking instead of binding. Kol says the spell in the manner of which it is meant to work and Davina is impressed, telling him that he can help.

Davina Using Her Telepathic Powers

Davina using her psychic abilities

Later, while the two cast the spell, Davina gets agitated as it is not working. She shakes her head, ordering Kol to stop chanting. She tells him she will channel his power as she grabs his arms. As she does so, Davina goes through his memories, absorbing them. She finds out that he broke the link she'd established to control Mikael and that he is the former Original Vampire, Kol Mikaelson, who also messed with the binding root she had attempted to use to unlink the sireline. Davina lets go of him. An enraged Davina shouts that he is one of them and telekinetically throws him to the door, calling him a liar and then back to a wall. Kol retaliates, however, Davina easily overpowers him. She is angry that her friends might die because of him. But when Kol explains his situation, Davina believes him and asks him to show her how he dispelled her bracelet.

The next morning, Davina and Kol are heading out when he tells her that it's tricky to bleed power out of a dark object. She replies that she wants to drain the White Oak Stake. Kol ridicules this idea, as the Stake is too powerful to be drained, just disabled temporarily, thus destroying its power would be fighting Nature itself. Davina believes otherwise, insisting that she doesn't have time and if he has a better idea, he should tell her. After he asks what she's going to do, Davina, angry that he underestimated her, informs him that even though he's disorientated the power of her bracelet, she cast a spell that would make sure she could always find Mikael.

Davina and Kaleb Doing The Spell

They're lead to an abandoned warehouse and Davina rushes into the house where Mikael and Klaus are facing off, only to be stopped by Kol, who insists that she isn't strong enough, and convinces her when he implies that they're trying to save her friends offering her his power to channel. Davina does so, absorbing his energy and draining the Stake just as Mikael kills Klaus with it, but he does not die. Mikael, who figures out that Davina is behind it, shows himself to the two witches who are stopping the Oak's power. Davina holds him off but is stopped when Kol releases her stop Mikael. Mikael knocks his son and bites a drained Davina, stopping the spell. But as he goes back into the other room, he sees that Camille has pulled the stake out, and he is confronted by everyone, including Davina.

Davina checks on Kol's wounds and asks him if he's alright. Marcel comes in and starts to reprimand Davina her actions, but she asks to do this later. Davina tells him that Kol's her friend and he's helping her. Marcel argues that he's helping her to wage war on Klaus, helping him to get killed in the process. Davina replies that she saved Klaus' life to protect him. But He reminds her that she was the one who brought Mikael back to life. Kol interrupts before it gets too heated. Marcel tells her to stay put until he comes back. Kol warns her to leave because his brother isn't going to be grateful. Davina tells him that she isn't afraid of him and pulls out the White Oak Stake. Davina tells Kol that he's going to help her get even with Klaus, but she agrees with him that they need to leave. Davina steals his car keys and gets to the driver's seat.

In Chasing the Devil's Tail, a couple of days after the Mikael incident Davina is seen in a motel looking at her reflection in a shattered mirror and starts chanting a spell which repairs it slowly. As she chants, Kaleb shows up behind her and distracts her, making the window shatters again. Davina informs him that she is trying to fix the damage that he did to her Delinking Spell, informing him that she is only with him because of his witchy encyclopedia brain. Kol tells her that she should sleep, to which she counters that it is hard to sleep with a thousand-year-old psycho in the next bed. Davina reveals that she wishes for him to stop calling her darling, trying to be funny and to stop fooling around. Kol tells her that her resistance to his sexual advances is surprising, but the two of them can do big things if she trusts him. Davina replies that she doesn't care about his secrets, before he is summoned magically by his mother as magical symbols burn onto his arms.

Davina driving back to NOLA

Later, whilst in the car, Davina drives the car, while Kol speaks of his history after he comments that Davina doesn't have fun with magic. He tells her stories about himself before turning into a vampire, being the only one of his siblings to have developed his abilities. Davina asks him if that is why Esther purified his spirit as a witch, to which Kol answers that his body would be useful for spying on her. Davina mentions that she can't believe that Esther sent him to flirt with her, but Kol assures her that the flirting was all him, making Davina smile.

Davina is called by Kol to the City of the Dead where he tells her about Esther's plans for her. Davina - unimpressed - asks him if that is the reason why he called her. However, Kol tells her that her blood is needed to open the Claire Crypt which was sealed by her ancestor, thus only a Claire's blood could open it. Davina relents and the two enter the crypt, where he had placed many dark artificial objects a hundred years prior, making Davina wonder how he had collected them. He tells her about Kemiya, revealing his plans with the dagger he had hidden, making Davina question that he had been hanging out with her for power. But Kol explains that Kemiya needs chemistry. He grabs a rope and gives Davina the other end of it and starts a spell, asking her to follow. When Davina resists holding his hand, Kol suggests that they make out instead, but that would be entirely distracting. The rope ignites into flames. Davina finally feels attraction to Kol and but the rope explodes and tumbles to the earth. They pick it up and see that it has turned to a golden thread which he wraps around her wrist to replace the one he broke. Davina expresses her excitement that they changed it, and he tells her that they are going to change everything.

Later, Davina tells Kol that she needs to get home as it's late and Kol correctly guesses that she must have been lonely in the attic as a witch needs a coven. Davina asks Kol when they can begin to work on the dagger and he answers that they will soon, but they have a lot to do first. Kol tells her that she's going to like him and he'll let her pretend that she doesn't already.

After Davina falls asleep, Kol lifts her to the Attic, putting her down to rest in her bed. When Davina awakens, she sees that he is gone and marvels silently at the new golden bracelet she created, but she soon notices that the Stake is gone from her bag and is unhappy, as she believes that Kol betrayed her.

In The Brothers That Care Forgot, Davina is seen walking into Marcel's place, believing him to be right about Kaleb's dark intentions as her stake has gone missing. Marcel informs her that he was the culprit and Davina is visibly unimpressed. Marcel tells her that he will put in a good word for her to Klaus and she must stay put in the apartment with Josh.

Davina hangs out with Josh. They talk about new things in their lives as Davina throws darts. She reveals her annoyance about Klaus terrorizing them, being the center of their problems. Davina gets a plan and tells Josh to invite his "hot" boyfriend Aiden, which he does. When Aiden shows up, Davina greets him and says she has to go order Thai and leaves them after some friendly small-talk, her actions indirectly causing Aiden and Josh to make out for the first time in her absence. Josh is surprised to not have heard applause from the witch and it is revealed that she has left and has gone to her ancestral crypt, where she gathers ingredients for a spell and drinks dark fluid once it's finished.

Davina makes her way to the compound where she snaps Marcel's neck, who tries to stop her the second she enters. After Klaus tells her she is not as powerful as she was when she possessed godly powers, she responded by telling him she can still kick his ass and throws him through a door violently. Klaus gets up easily and bites her after she taunts him using Mikael, telling him that he is weak and that he couldn't even kill Mikael when he had the chance. While consuming Davina's blood, Klaus gets poisoned and falls unconscious temporarily. Davina smirks, victorious.

After Marcel wakes up, he tells her that Kol is on Klaus' side now. Davina angry, tells Kol that Klaus is the real problem, but after Cami shows up and they discover what happened to her, Davina starts seeing Esther as a threat as well. Davina is convinced by Cami to awaken Klaus, as they need him to stop Esther to stop her from being possessed by Rebekah, contrary to her plans of bleeding Klaus out and dumping him in the Mississippi. Davina informs Klaus that she beat him yet again.

Later, she is seen talking with Kol. She tells him that he should be glad for not stealing the stake as she would be the one torturing him. When Kol asks her if she trusts him, Davina nods in return, confirming her trust for him. Klaus comes in and asks Davina to leave him alone with his brother, Davina grabs her coat and leaves, telling him that she can't stand being around him.

In The Map of Moments, Davina and Kol prepare a voodoo doll that'll protect Camille against Esther's magic. Davina is worried that hers and Kol's power won't be enough to defend Cami against a witch like Esther. After Kol makes a remark, Marcel threatens him, making Davina wonder about their history. Kol tells her about the Fauline paragon diamond, giving Davina an idea to steal it back.

Later, after convincing Kol to do so, Davina searches the Compound for the "Fauline Paragon Diamond". Davina finds a picture depicting the Original Family and sees Kol in it, asking if it's him in the portrait and Kol admits he was hotter back then, which Davina ridicules playfully. Kol reveals that his siblings were a group of three that never included him but included Marcel, and tells her that Rebekah once did him a solid.

After convincing Klaus and Marcel to give up the paragon diamond in exchange for helping them save Cami and stop Esther once and for all, Kol asks for the White Oak Stake, which he wants to use as a way of making his mother not suspect him of his current affiliations, which Davina is unhappy with, but they agree after he gives them his word.

After Kol leaves, Davina and Marcel explain the spell to Camille: they plan on doing a spell that'll link Esther's hourglass to their's, thus it'll mirror the Original Witch's and once the last sand falls, she'll attempt a spell that'll jam Esther's incredible power and redirect it back to Esther, interrupting any attempt Esther herself might have at body-jumping them.

After Kol links the hourglasses, Davina watches her hourglass from the Compound, counting down. Before it is timed back at the City of the Dead, Kol signals Klaus to attack Esther, who kills her before the last sands fall, at which point, back at the Compound, Davina begins the spell quickly, redirecting Esther's incredible power and directing it back to Esther, jamming her power, while it has drastic effects on Rebekah and Camille, the collision causes them to shake violently as their spiritual essences are quaked and fall unconscious while simultaneously causing both hourglasses to explode under the pressure. Davina, who is startled by her own power surge, admits she does not know if the spell worked or not. When Camille awakens (and Rebekah does not) and realizes that she suddenly loves her stupid name, a relieved Davina is there to hug her.

Kol asks her to close her eyes and after she obliges, he kisses her passionately and after she opens her eyes, she smiles, stands on her toes and kisses him back.

It is revealed in this same episode by Elijah, after Hayley is afraid that should a witch as potent as Davina find out about Hope she would attack her as she is an enemy to Klaus, that Davina will not be a threat to Hope as all she will be is an ally as she has the potential to become the next leader of the French Quarter Coven once Esther is out of the picture.

In Gonna Set Your Flag On Fire, at Kol's request, Davina arrives at the Abattoir to free the trapped vampires and werewolves. She tries to touch the barrier, but Kol stops her, claiming that it's nasty. They smile at each other and start chanting a spell, but are unsuccessful, which leads her to realize that Vincent must be channeling something, possibly a dark object. So, they try something different. They quickly set up their new spell and successfully interrupt Finn's spell for 60 seconds. Klaus comes in and throws Kol with the trapped, hungry vampires. Davina, worried, tells Klaus that they will kill him. Later, she asks Marcel to keep Kol alive. She glances sadly at them for the last time before leaving.

She is successful in Finding Finn, informs Klaus of his location, that he's channeling their parents and is using representative magic. As they set off, Klaus loses consciousness. Davina leans down near his body and starts to slap him frantically, ordering him to wake up. Suddenly, Klaus' phone starts ringing, she picks it up and realizes that it's Cami. He explains that he is in possession of the ashes of Kol's original body from the first time he died, and that if she helps him with Mikael, he will give her the ashes as they are a necessary part of the spell to bring him back to life. Davina agrees to this and helps him locate Mikael, as well as create a weapon to kill Dahlia, in exchange for his remains. Klaus' requests that she make their weapon and Mikael gives his 'little witch' the ingredients and a knife to bind them to. The two of them bicker and Davina seems almost amused. Later, Marcel approaches Davina to convince her to help them dagger Klaus, when she tells Marcel that while he helped save her from Eva, he wasn't there for her when Kol died, and that's when she needed him the most, even if he didn't like Kol. She is reluctant to hand over the dagger as Kol gave it to her for protection, and she'll decide if it gets used. During the night, she is with Josh to say farewell as he is planning to leave the city with Aiden, however, the two of them come across Aiden's body. Unaware that Dahlia killed him, they believe that he was murdered by Klaus for his betrayal, and they mourn him together before Davina makes her way to Algiers, where Marcel is. Davina steps up and gives a speech about that she was sacrificed for her coven, and that she only sided with the vampires because it was the witches that was trying to kill her. She asks "who here has stood up against vampires?" As she was the only one who obviously had, the elders agreed to make her the next Regent. Later, she is visited by Rebekah, who is back in her original body. Davina is surprised, and says that she has given up on her vow that she gave to help resurrect Kol. Rebekah leads her outside where Rebekah distracts her while Elijah is busy in the crypt exchanging Kol's ashes for Esther's. Rebekah tries to explain that she had no other choice but to return to her body. Davina apologizes for overreacting and Rebekah told her they needed her help and Davina asked what she could do, to which Rebekah stated they needed to bring Esther back instead of Kol. Davina got angry and refused to believe Rebekah when she said they would find another way to save Kol, and thinks she was just turning her back on her promise, Davina in anger starts to cause Rebekah pain by breaking bones in her body, causing Rebekah to fall to the floor, telling her that she is going to bring back the only one of them that has ever meant anything to her. In You Hung the Moon, Davina explains her situation with Kara and asks her to deal with her as Davina herself cannot act without starting a civil war. Davina casts a spell on a candle that ensures Hayley will stay human for as long as she needs it and after that, she will free all the Crescent Wolves. Hayley agrees to what Davina wants her to do, but not without issuing a threat to the witch. Davina is using her magic to shield the candle when Celeste rejects Davina's pleas and causes her to start bleeding from her eyes. However, when Davina mentions that Hayley can be used to get to Klaus, Celeste finally responds to Davina's request which leads Davina to successfully block The Crescent Curse and Cloak Hayley from Freya's locator spell. However, shortly after, she learns from Marcel that Hayley killed 11 other witches as result of being witnesses; which leaves Davina guilt-stricken as she didn't want a massacre.

In The Axeman's Letter, Davina invites Hayley and Jackson to Fête de Cadeau as guests, but unknown to the other witches they're her bodyguards. Davina knows there's some uproar from those who oppose her especially Van Nguyen. As Davina takes the break from being Regent Hayley comes over to her and they start talking. Hayley offers her beer to Davina noting "You need it more I do" as she gives the young witch advice base from her leadership of her pack. Hayley is impressed with Davina as she admits she wants to lead the covens in a new direction and lifted The Crescent Curse seeing she would rather have Hayley as a friend, not a slave. Hayley smiles widely, thrilled by this gift, and Davina smiles back at her happily too.

In Out of the Easy, Marcel tries to convince Davina to leave New Orleans and run away from The Strix, but she declines. Later, when covering up Ariane's body, she appeared to Davina, announcing that the Sisters has the power to resurrect Kol, and if she does not abuse its power to her advantage, he would suffer a fate worse than death at the Ancestors' hands.

In Heart Shaped Box, Davina realized she needed Kol to help her figure out the final ingredient for the spell that would de-link the sire lines from the Originals. Using a candle that would allow her to speak to Kol as long as it was lit, Davina summoned Kol's spirit and he was happy to see her but disappointed to see she had joined the Sisters. She assured him it was a means to an end but their reunion was interrupted by Aya. Kol was familiar with Aya, surprised that she hadn't been killed yet. Aya told him he would remain a ghost unless he helped them with the final ingredient to the de-linking spell. Kol said he'd talk, but only to Davina.

As she tried to figure out the missing ingredient, Kol tried to lie and tell her that it was impossible but she could tell he wasn't being honest. He tried to convince her to stop trying, understanding she was attempting to bring him back but promising her it wasn't worth it with the price she'd have to pay. Through deduction, Davina realized it was the heart of an unsired vampire that was needed. Kol pleaded for her to stop but Davina, and the eavesdropping Sisters, realized it was Hayley's heart that they needed. While the Sisters attacked Hayley, Kol told Davina to use the candle and Kol's spirit to knock herself out and her connection with the Sisters would bring them down too. Davina took his advice and was knocked out. Upon waking up she kissed Kol before he went back to The Ancestral Plane.

Kol knew that Davina had heard the stories about how he was a violent lunatic as a vampire but assured her that he'd be able to control himself now that he had a reason to be better. He asked her to make him a new daylight ring so they could pay his family a visit, despite her concern that Klaus would kill her for breaking his sireline. When they arrived at the compound, Klaus immediately attacked Davina but was thrown off by Kol, who greeted his brother with a cheeky smile. Klaus was shocked by his brother's return and Elijah and Freya soon joined him, all in disbelief. Davina explained that she had revived him thanks to the power left over from Klaus' sireline breaking. Davina wasn't allowed in the family discussion, much to Kol's annoyance. However, he promised he would make it up to her later. Davina kept busy with Josh and confirming that Marcel's missing Strix members were dead. Kol later comes through with their date with the result of them consuming their relationship psychically.

Kol refused angrily, furious that Finn could even potentially get a happy ending. and Elijah realized that Kol wasn't able to control himself. Kol admitted that since he had returned, the rage and bloodlust had been difficult to keep under control, as he had never really cared about trying to the first time he was a vampire. Now that he had Davina, he needed to learn how to control it. Kol tearfully mused that perhaps that's what their family would always be doing; hurting those they loved. When Davina tried to get retribution for Kol herself, she used a spell to lock Finn inside of his body as a vampire as karmic revenge, so he'd be unable to jump into another one as he planned to. Finn fought back against Davina before Kol intervened. The two engaged in a furious fist fight that culminated with Kol throwing Finn through a glass door and preparing to set him on fire. Elijah and Freya arrived and convinced Kol not to do it. Kol grudgingly agreed but told them he'd rather take his chances outside with the risk of being killed with the white oak than have to stay with them. Kol left angrily with Davina behind him.

In Give 'Em Hell Kid, Marcel, Josh, Kol and Vincent are present at Davina's small wake, saying their goodbyes. Marcel promises to get revenge for her death while later on, Kol is surprised to find out that Davina's spirit, though shredded, still exists, believing that fragments of her soul were bounded to those she loved. When he and Vincent travel to the Ancestral plane, with Josh acting as a life-link, in order to cut off the Ancestors from the physical plane, Vincent manages to conjure fragments of Davina's soul, by channeling Davina's favorite record, via a spell. She promises she will activate Eva's dark object and says her goodbyes to Vincent and Kol, sending them both back to the living plane. Davina then activates the dark object and Lafayette cemetery begins shaking as the spell is cast, a sign that the connection is being untethered, marking the end of the Ancestors' presence among the living witches.

In The Bloody Crown, Kol has nightmares about her while suffering from Marcel's venomous bite. That causes him to lash out until Hayley manages to get him calm down, although Davina herself makes no appearances.

In Voodoo in My Blood, she and the other Ancestors talk to Hope to have her tell her parents to go to St. Anne's Church so they could tell them about The Hollow. After arriving in the Ancestral Plane, Davina approaches Klaus and Hayley and asks how Kol is. After some witty remarks, Davina begins to tell the story about the Hollow, revealing her real name, the magic performed on her and what became of her. After revealing that The Hollow is a relative of the Labonair Family and was responsible for putting the curse on the werewolves, causing them to transform on a full moon. After casting a spell on Klaus which renders him unconscious, she tells Hayley she needs to trust her and Hayley goes off trying to find the host The Hollow is currently possessing. Davina then reveals that she plans to use Klaus as a sacrifice in order to lock the Hollow away again, but she is interfered with the arrival of Marcel, Hayley and eventually Elijah. She uses magic by force to make Marcel extract some of his venom and put it into a cut made by her to kill Klaus, but is stopped by Hope. Hope tells her off and breaks the salt circle, sending Davina back to the Ancestral Plane. At Lafayette Cemetery, Marcel is talking to Davina's grave and she is seen listening to him, with a saddened look.

In Phantomesque, Kol attempted to make a deal with the new harvest girls, Amy and Jessica, by offering them dark objects to make it worth their while. In exchange for them, he wanted them to let him talk to Davina, though they refused while indicating that he would never see Davina again. Before he could attack, Jessica performed a pain infliction spell on him then Amy broke his neck with telekinesis. For their efforts, they left him alone in the cemetery and, per their arrangement, left with the dark objects.

Later that night, Kol visited Davina's grave, though he was approached by the Hollow. They spoke briefly of Davina and she cut the palm of her hand and he heard Davina scream. Soon thereafter, he found her, resurrected and trapped within a boundary spell, with the same cut on her hand. The Hollow confirmed that Davina was now linked to her, and that he couldn't kill her without killing Davina.

In A Spirit Here That Won't Be Broken, Davina is unlinked from The Hollow by Hope although Davina did come close to dying again while being linked. She leaves the city with Kol to truly see the world for the first time and partially for her own safety.

In 'Til the Day I Die, Davina comes back to New Orleans to attend Freya and Keelin's wedding. While she's there, Klaus asks for her help in finding a solution for Hope's affliction from the Hollow's Dark Magic. She agrees to help and meets Hope in the cemetery. Davina compares herself to Hope as a teenager, as in she too was attempting to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders and it wasn't really fair to both of them. Hope excuses herself and Davina then magically collects Hope's tears to perform a spell. The spell fails, essentially informing her and Kol that there was no cure. She later informs Klaus of this news and that with Hope's first upcoming full moon and being a host for the Hollow she wouldn't survive her first transformation.

Later, catching up with Marcel before the wedding, he asks for her advice about Declan, a human who found out about the supernatural community in New Orleans. Davina asks him why doesn't Declan doesn't have the right to know about the truth, which stumps Marcel. Marcel continues to talk about New Orleans' history of war in general, which Davina responds to by saying that the ones in power, referring to Marcel, should be the ones to change the situation of New Orleans. At the wedding she dances with Kol and witnesses Hope faint, which is a subtle sign of her quickening decline to the rest of the family.

The Originals - Davina

Before the start of the series, Davina once had respect and loyalty for her coven, which changed after she was betrayed by her former coven, who not only tried to kill her but they killed her best friend Monique Deveraux as well, her mother was the worst one of them all, as she did nothing to help her daughter.

She begged her mother for help but Ms. Clare did nothing to stop it, and turned a blind eye. Making her realize that her mother knew exactly what The Harvest is, and was willing to sacrifice her own daughter's life. Davina now harbors hatred for her former coven, and takes great pleasure in seeing them suffer.

Davina is a quiet girl living a very sheltered life. However, the extreme levels of restriction that have been placed upon her, has caused her to be hot-tempered, a bad combination with her level of power, to which she developed a superiority complex. Davina seems to be used to getting her way, and when things go awry she is short-tempered. She has faced betrayal from her coven in the past, leading her to seek revenge against them. Marcel has said that Davina has anger and authority issues. She seems to have a rebellious nature, as shown when she sneaks off to meet Tim in Girl in New Orleans or when she sneaks off from Marcel's loft. Davina's personality seems to be that of a sweet girl longing for a normal teenage life free of magic, however, the events of her life have given her a dark side that she is not afraid to use, if the situation calls for it. She also has a manipulative side, as she tricked Marcel into keeping her at the church, so she could have a secret meeting with Elijah. Davina used to play the piano and enjoys listening to classical music such as Bach, Puccini, and Mozart. Davina has shown regret over the fact that her immense power hurt people, even when she didn't mean to. She is shown to be a loyal, caring and sympathetic friend. When someone hurts her or anyone she cares about, she won't rest until she makes them pay.

When she temporarily had the power of The Harvest, Davina was quite overconfident in her abilities, despite having little experience in actually using it.

Even though not to a great extent, Davina has shown the ability to make sacrifices for the greater good. When she fell ill, she realized that her life was coming to an end. Davina thought that it would be selfish to take everyone else with her, so she accepted her fate and sacrificed her life to save everyone in New Orleans from destruction.

After being resurrected, she is scared and skittish, not talking much. She is frightened and doesn't want to use her magic. Marcel planned on using her once she was brought back to life, which hurt her and made her upset. Davina has a hard time since returning to the Witches, which was intensified by how much disdain she felt from Monique, her former best friend.

However, she slowly starts to regain faith in her abilities and herself, and becomes stronger for it, embracing her powers as a witch. She successfully resurrects and binds Mikael to her as part of her plan to kill Klaus. She is very loyal to her friends, as everything she's currently planning to do it for them, to remove a tyrant from their lives so that he, Klaus, can't hurt them anymore. She is also intelligent enough to realize that, though he holds himself differently, Elijah is ultimately cut from the same cloth as his maternal half-brother. Despite the tragic events in her life, Davina is still a very positive and upbeat person. Over the course of the series, Davina becomes more independent, ambitious and determined. She places the safety of her friends over her own agenda.

Due to her seemingly naive and kind personality, Davina is often the subject of manipulation. Over the course of the series, she has been lied to/was used on a few occasions. Which has lead her to become more distrustful and paranoid, a trait Mikael pointed out.

In a bit of irony, Davina has started to show personality traits similar to that of Klaus. Her time as Regent has made her distrustful, quick to downplay any threats, while at the same time responding to them violently, as evidenced with her ordering Hayley to murder Kara, after Kara attacked her in protest. All the while Davina justifies herself, even while she feels guilty. This eventually leads to her being shunned by the community of New Orleans witches.

Physical Appearance[]

Davina Claire

Davina is a very beautiful and gorgeous young woman in her late teens. She has blue eyes, full lips, rosy cheeks, lightly tanned skin and long, dark brown hair worn in loose waves. She stands at 5'3" and her frame is slim and petite.

In the first season, she is usually seen wearing white or pale colored dresses with some type of distinct patterns and stripes, although as the season progresses, has begun to wear darker shades such as grey and black. At the beginning of the first season, she rarely was seen wearing shoes considering she was always inside. She was also absent of jewelry and didn't wear make-up.

After she is resurrected she starts wearing trousers, jackets, and blouses with different colors and patterns. For special occasions, she wears dresses and uses light make-up.

In Season two, she is often seen wearing jeans. Red and blue are the colors she wears often. She also starts wearing jewelry, such as bracelets and necklaces.

In Season three, because of Kol's death and the constant betrayal from the original family Davina's style drastically changed. She is often seen wearing dark shades of clothing such as grey and black. This trend continues in Season 4.

Powers and Abilities[]

Davina is a very powerful witch who was formerly a member of the French Quarter Coven, Harvest Witch and Regent.

Davina seems to be gifted in understanding complex spell work, as she created a counter-spell to undo the sire link of Klaus Mikaelson's entire line, thus making it so that if he were to die, his sire line would be spared. Upon studying Esther's grimoires, her knowledge of magic seems to have greatly increased.

Present day, with her resurrection, she utilizes Traditional Magic. Furthermore, since she's moved on from New Orleans, it can be inferred that she is no longer connected or affiliated to the nine covens of New Orleans.

Prior to the Harvest, Davina was a normal teenage girl, seemingly, not have manifested her powers yet as she implied in Moon Over Bourbon Street to Josh: "All the power I had was from the other Harvest Girls, I don't even know what I have without it". Her life was pretty normal before the Elder of her mother's coven, Bastianna, chose her as a candidate for the Harvest Sacrifice. An unsuspecting Davina was convinced by her mother to be a Harvest girl for she was told that she would be respected and powerful in the community. Eventually, Bastianna chose Davina and her three friends Monique, Abigail and Cassie for reasons unknown, seemingly due to greater potential for magic than the other candidates.

TO 1x04 Davina Uses Telekinesis on Klaus
Due to Marcel's intervention, the Harvest was interrupted and Davina was not sacrificed. Subsequently, as each power from the previous Harvest girl flowed into the next, Davina now contained the combined magic of each Harvest Witch. Since she was, albeit temporarily, imbued with magic from the Harvest, she was able to accomplish impressive feats. She was able to remove an Original's compulsion on both a vampire and a human, killed a group of witches with great telekinetic accuracy and even taking down an Original Vampire, Elijah, and the Original Hybrid, making the former choke on his blood and the latter to unwillingly turn. As time progressed the Harvest energy that she contained began to hemorrhage magic, affecting the city. If left unattended, the city would have burned to the ground along with herself. In order to stop this, she had to be sacrificed to complete the Harvest Ritual. She was soon sacrificed all that immense power returned to the Earth and unto the Ancestors.

After her resurrection by the Ancestors, she had a hard time adjusting as she lacked faith in herself, and could not seem to use her powers. This was due to her being shunned and tortured by the Ancestors while in the Ancestral Plane. Thankfully, she was able to use her powers again after a few words of encouragement from her best friend, Josh. During this time she was also shown to cast fire spells, as she demonstrated with the light show, as her Harvest element was Fire at the Annual Casket Girls Festival. However, since the completion of the Reaping, with Genevieve's death and Cassie's resurrection, she's not shown such power again. Later on, Davina channeled Hope's birth, a Nexus Vorti, as well as four dark objects to resurrect Mikael. Davina used these ingredients with Esther's resurrection spell as the Other Side was collapsing to make his spirit flesh. However, with the added Bracelet of Obedience, this gave her complete control him, to use him as a weapon as she had been used.

In comparison to her former status as a Harvest Girl, Davina has seemed to become tremendously weaker, though still showed proficiency in her spell casting abilities. She was able to cast a pain infliction spell, en masse on three werewolves, which is usually exhibited by more powerful witches. While channeling another witch, she and Kol, unknown to her to have been possessing Kaleb Westphall, was able to cast a cloaking spell (Live and Let Die), disallowing Klaus from sensing everyone inside the room. Additionally, she received visions, a form of divination, of the witch's past actions, and in the case of Kol, his deception. Again, while she and Kol channeled one another, they were able to neutralize the Original killing power of the White Oak, albeit temporarily, the only balance Nature has to kill Klaus, rending it as ordinary wood. With Kol's knowledge of possession as well as Esther's magic, she cast a spell to protect Camille from possession. Initially, it was perceived that while Esther was unable to body jump into Camille, Rebekah's spirit was lost as she did not inhabit the intended vessel. It was later known that Kol devised a trick for his sister and Rebekah's spirit was sent into the body of Eva Sinclair. As the various forces of magic collided, the hourglass that was used in conjunction with the spells, caused them to explode.

Davina has also shown adapted knowledge and practice of Kemiya - a subsection of dark magic, as like her ancestor before her, learned it from Kol. With his instruction, they created a gold bracelet, eventually culminating in the creation of the gold white oak ash dagger, which worked on Klaus.

Davina is made Regent

Due to Vincent's recommendation to the coven Elders, Davina was made Regent and accepted by the Ancestors. This allowed her to become the most powerful Ancestral Witch in New Orleans allowing her to communion with the Ancestors directly, but more importantly a one-time-only access to the totality of Ancestors' power to channel at once. She attempted to used this one-time-only access to resurrect Kol, however, his ashes were swapped with Esther's, thus Esther was resurrected instead, to Davina's disappointment. Later, as Regent, she had the power to channel the magic of any Ancestor, though strictly with their permission. She would use this ability to channel the power of Celeste to temporarily block, and eventually revoke, the Crescent Curse (as Celeste was the original witch who cast the curse). Eventually, however, because she ordered the death of Kara and subsequently members of the Ninth ward coven, she was stripped of her office of Regency and shunned from the Nine Covens of New Orleans, a punishment that usually met with death, she was granted leniency.

The excommunication

Following Davina's shunning from the Nine Covens of New Orleans, she was left dis-empowered and her connection to the Ancestors disappeared, seemingly permanent. However, she still remained resourceful and was still able to practice magic not connected to the Ancestors.

She was approached by Aya and was presented with a means to resurrect Kol, join her coven that was in service to her and the Strix, the Sisters: a powerful coven of witches that practiced Dark Magic. Weary of the coven, she transcended into the Ancestral Place, via a suspension spell that prevented her from completely dying despite no longer being an Ancestral Witch. She achieved this by channeling Josh who served as her life-link. Following her connection to him being broken, she still managed to find her way back to the mortal plane with Ariane's help. She helped her to concentrate on what she loved most and to fight with what made her want to live; seemingly to channel power from strong desires.

It is a mystery where the power of her new coven actually comes from, though Aya Al-Rashid has stated that the witches are the most powerful this world has ever seen. Seemingly, Davina, instructed by Ariane and, by extension her coven can draw their immense power from a form of Empathic Magic, a strong desire of the witch, which has been previously described by Abby Bennett Wilson as the source of "Black Magic".

Since "officially" joining The Sisters Davina has seemingly been able to continue drawing on the coven's power to perform various spells and rituals. Davina performed a simple spirit projection spell, allowing her to mentally project herself to the Compound of the Mikaelsons, while remaining invisible. She also performed a spell with the Sisters on Ariane's corpse, in order to obtain specific information Ariane had prior to her death, which initially failed. After the Sisters took a pause, Davina was able to see Ariane's memories, as if they were her own, prior to her death. She was also able to consecrate Ariane's corpse and by doing so gave her access to the Ancestral Plane. She was recently able to summon Kol's spirit from the Ancestral Plane with the use of a dark object known as The Hand of Glory. She was also shown to be connected to her fellow coven members, though how or why such a link was established remains unknown. Seemingly, this link allows them to tap into each other's power. Though different from a linking spell, the link could be exploited so that what would affect Davina, would affect all her Sisters, such as when Kol magically knocks Davina unconscious to protect Camille from the Sisters. This link was presumably established when Davina, seemingly, gained leadership over the coven after the deaths of the previous two leaders (Ariane and Madison respectively).

TO 3x14 Davina and the Sisters Use Telekinesis on Marcel and Hayley

Davina Leading the Sisters

With a dark and powerful new Coven by her side, she has been shown capable of performing spells of great magnitudes, such as the Sireline Unlinking Spell (a combination of Esther's linking and sireline spells). With the Coven's aid, Davina managed to break Klaus' link to all of his vampire progenies, though the final portion was completed without her coven due to there demise.

Upon the demise of the Sisters' Coven, she was left dis-empowered once again, stilled shunned from the Ancestors and the witch community. However, the energy released by the Sireline Unlinking Sell, that broke Klaus' connection to his sireline, created a Nexus Vorti. Using this to her advantage, Davina collected Elijah and Klaus' blood (the resurrection spell from the Sisters that lured Rebekah to the Moroccan Witch), with Kol's ashes and, while channeling the Nexus Vorti, she resurrected Kol from the Ancestral Plane, reconstructing his original body, marking the third time she successfully performed a resurrection. It was later revealed that this spell was corrupted by the Ancestors so that it would infect Kol's soul to the point where he would lose control and kill Davina.

Later, Davina was able to perform a spell along with Vincent that negated the new Regent's Magic Neutralization spell. Before this, Davina was able to make a bar full of vampires with the exception of the Beast, Lucien, fall asleep with a snap of her fingers. After death, Davina was able to reach out to Kol, to which Vincent conjured her soul back into the Ancestral Plane. She would then use the power of the dark object, the Un Dépôt D'argent, to break the Ancestors' influence over the physical plane of existence after she forcibly sent both Vincent and Kol's souls back to the mortal plane.

Since her resurrection by the Hollow, and subsequent move from New Orleans, it is unknown whether she can practice Ancestral Magic. Furthermore, since Vincent made her gatekeeper to New Orleans' Ancestral Magic, as an Ancestral Spirit, it is unknown if this status is continued now that she's alive. Unlike the status of Regent, she may not have access to such powers and may currently resort to Traditional Magic a common form of magic used by many witches.

Davina has the typical weaknesses of a witch.

Marcel and Davina

Davina met Marcel when he saved her from nearly being killed in The Harvest. Ever since then he has been protecting her from the witches who wish to complete the ritual. Davina trusted and even loved Marcel yet that trust was broken when Marcel didn't tell her that the last remaining elder and the last thing posing a threat to her, Agnes was dead. Davina believes that Marcel did not tell her that because he just wants her power and is using her. After Davina escapes due to Marcel's betrayal, she eventually returns after Tim's life is in danger, the two are reunited. Marcel tells her he cares for her and took her in as his own, although their relationship is far from being repaired. Marcel was protecting Davina from being sacrificed in Après Moi, Le Déluge but due to everything that was happening, Davina decided that she was ready. After her death, he was devastated that she did not return from the dead. After killing Bastianna, Davina returned to the living. Marcel noticed Davina's changed personality and wanting her to feel safe, left her in the care of Genevieve. A month later, Davina felt abandoned by Marcel but Josh also reassured her that Marcel still loves her. While Marcel was banished from the French Quarter, Marcel continued to watch Davina from afar and in a sense, she felt like he was there watching her. She loves him very much and would do anything to save him. Recently, though, the young witch did a spell to save Klaus' life by deactivating the power of the White Oak Stake, rendering its power to kill Originals temporarily useless.

"Can you tell Josh not to be sad? Tell him that one good friend is more than enough and that most people don't get that."
—Davina to Kol about Josh

Josh and Davina are best friends. They first met when Marcel found about Klaus compelling him to spy on Marcel, and Marcel to Davina to erase his compulsion. The two bonded and became good friends after that. She was supposed to erase his memory of her but she didn't. After that, they continued to secretly meet and Josh helped her when she was escaping from Klaus, Marcel, and the Witches. He aided Davina in regaining her magic when she came back from the dead and eventually she was able to make him a daylight ring when Klaus gave her the spell. They are best friends and would do anything for each other.

Kol Mikaelson[]

"I love you, Kol Mikaelson."
—Davina to Kol

Kol is Davina's close friend, boyfriend, later husband, and partner in crime. He introduced himself to Davina in Rebirth as Kaleb . Davina appeared to be quite smitten with Kaleb, and readily agreed to meet with him for coffee. Despite being stood up, Davina was still happy to go to dinner with Kaleb later that evening. Davina was unaware that Kaleb's body is under the possession of Kol until she touched him during a spell in Red Door. They formed an alliance due to their shared hatred of Klaus and conspired against him, with that they grew close to each other. In The Map of Moments, they shared their first kiss. In I Love You, Goodbye, Kol died from Finn's curse, leaving Davina devastated. Kol remained dead. After many failed attempts, Davina was finally able to bring Kol back to life in A Streetcar Named Desire, after the spell Davina used to unlink Klaus from his sireline created a Nexus Vorti, which she could channel for power such as when she resurrected Mikael when Hope's birth created one, and the two of them were thrilled to be reunited. In An Old Friend Calls, Kol and Davina talk about how he is a vampire and not a witch. She tells him that she has heard all the stories of how he had no control over his bloodlust. He then told her that he was going to be better for her. They then kiss and he tells her he has to see his family. After he sees his family he goes to the attic where Davina was waiting for him. They start to dance while they are dance Davina starts to take her clothes and then they promptly have sex. In No More Heartbreaks, Davina finds out that Cami was bitten by Lucien. She confronts him and he tells her that she can't be saved. He then tells her he will not kill because The Ancestors have something planned for her. She then figures out that Kol is meant to kill her. She then daggers him at his request. She then comes back to him lying on the ground daggered. The Ancestors break through the magic that is keeping him daggered and he wakes up in such bloodlust he kills Davina, as The Ancestors wanted. In Give 'Em Hell Kid, Kol sees Davina for one last time where they have a heartfelt goodbye as it was probably the last time they will see each other. Throughout Season Four Kol continues to mourn her loss and leaves New Orleans. In Phantomesque he learns that the Ancestors have returned and attempts to contact her using the Harvest girls, when this fails he comes face to face with the Hollow who resurrects Davina but also links herself to her in the process. In A Spirit Here That Won't Be Broken Kol unlinks her from the Hollow and the two leave New Orleans to begin a life together. They are married seven years later as of the season five premiere.

  • Davina is a feminine name which is pronounced dah-VEE-nah. It is of Scottish and Hebrew origin, and the meaning is "beloved", "friend" or "cherished".[4]
  • Claire is a French and Latin name which means "illustrious", "clear", or "famous".[5]

  • Davina refers to the Mikaelson Family as The Old Ones; a reference to the novel series, where the Original Family is referred to as such.
  • Marcel saw Davina as a fighter and took her in just as Klaus did with him. This led to him becoming the overprotective “father figure” in her life.
  • Davina was revived through Céleste's death as she was the third mention by Marcel to come back after the Reaping.
  • During the Harvest, and similarly for the Fête des Bénédictions, she represented the element of fire which was called upon to purify.
  • Both of her boyfriends were killed by a member of the Mikaelson Family. Tim was killed by Klaus and Kol was killed by Finn.
  • Davina has resurrected three people, all of which were a Mikaelson family member with the aid of external factors. She resurrected Mikael using Hope's birth as a nexus vorti with dark objects. She resurrected Esther believing it was Kol through the Ancestor's one time use of their power. Finally, she resurrected Kol through the use of the resulting nexus vorti from unlinking Klaus' sireline.
