Efrain was a character who appeared in the second book of The Originals series. He was a vampire of New Orleans and was turned by Niklaus Mikaelson in 1766.

Throughout The Originals Novels Series

In The Originals: The Loss, Efrain was shown to be fawning over Rebekah, and would do anything for her, despite his shyness. After Rebekah is talking to Lisette, Efrain seems he wanted to be somewhere else. He is shown to have been participating in the fight against the morts-vivants as he was the second in command to Elijah's front. He is later killed by Lily by taking a fireball.


Efrain is shown to be shy and smitten with Rebekah. Rebekah states that even though he extraordinary blue eyes, he got tongue-tied at the mere sight of her.

Physical Appearance

Efrain wasn't given much description but Rebekah mentions that he had extraordinary blue eyes.

Powers and Abilities

Efrain possessed all the standard powers and abilities of a non-Original vampire.


Efrain had the typical weaknesses of a non-Original vampire.



  • Efrain is of Spanish origin and it has two meanings. In American, the meaning is "fertile" and in Spanish "doubly fruitful".
