The relationship between, the Original Vampire Elijah Mikaelson and the Werewolf Hayley Marshall.

Elijah and Hayley meet in New Orleans. He discovers that she is being held hostage by witches. After discovering that she is pregnant with his brother's child, he allows her move into the Mikaelson Mansion with him, Niklaus and later Rebekah. During the first few months of living under the same roof, their friendship grows to be very close and strong.

They begin to trust and protect each other, They spend much time together in spite that Elijah was a little out of her to avoid disturbing Klaus . Elijah is usually very overprotective when it comes to the safety of Hayley. In one occasion to save his sister, Elijah had to bite Hayley since the baby's blood was the only solution but he did not really hurt her.

However in spite of the clear feeling that they have for one another, Elijah is reluctant to be in a relationship with her as he doesn't want her to get hurt by Klaus.

After many attempts for them to have their first kiss, when Hayley was about to die because Mikael's threat, Elijah was very afraid of losing her and he decided to opened to her about what he felt, after hearing Elijah's words, Hayley decides to take the first step and kiss him on A Closer Walk With Thee.

They are referred to as "Haylijah " by the fans.

Elijah first meets Hayley when he went to New Orleans in order to find out why some witches in the city were conspiring against his brother, Klaus.

When he discovered that Hayley was pregnant with his brother's child, he immediately set out to convince his brother to stay in New Orleans, and agree to overthrow Marcel in exchange for the safety of Hayley and of his unborn nephew or niece. He seems to think Hayley and her baby will heal the scars that have plagued his family and is shown to be quite determined to keep both of them safe.

In Always and Forever, after Sophie tells Elijah about Hayley and her pregnancy, she has her coven who are holding Hayley, they bring her out to Elijah. Elijah explains to Hayley his and his families back story, and how Klaus turned out to be the Hybrid. Later, after Elijah finds Klaus, and learns about the baby, Klaus still isn't agreeing to co-operate, so Sophie reveals more the the spell Jane-Anne had cast before Marcel killed her, was that Sophie's life was tied to Hayley's. Later after finally getting Klaus to agree to help Sophie, Elijah has Sophie and her coven to release Hayley to him by giving them Jane-Anne's body. After taking her to there old home, Elijah promises to always protect Hayley and the baby.

In House of the Rising Son, Hayley tells Rebekah that Elijah left them and escaped (according to Klaus's words). Upset Rebekah convinces her that Elijah is very honorable and always keeps faith. If he disappeared, it happened by Klaus.

In Tangled Up In Blue, Hayley asks Klaus if he and Rebekah released Elijah. Klaus say "You hardly know him, and yet you miss him".

In Girl in New Orleans, Hayley smiles when Rebekah say that she talked with Elijah and he asked her to take care of Hayley.

In Sinners and Saints, When Elijah returns home, he hugs Rebekah and looks at Hayley who smiles back coyly and walks out of the room. Elijah's gaze follows her. Rebekah jokingly asks him now that he's if his first plan is to kill Klaus. A distracted Elijah kisses his sister on the forehead as he excuses himself to follow Hayley outside. He walks outside near the poolside and slowly approaches Hayley, with a small smile on his lips. She turns to face him and smiles and says, "You're back", to which Elijah replies "I'm back". There is a pause with the pair gazing at each other intensely, before Hayley's coy smile vanishes and whips her hand across, slapping Elijah. She then goes on to say, "Don't make promises you can't keep. Welcome Home," and saunters off. Elijah watches her leave and slowly touches his face where she slapped him with a subtle smile.

In Fruit of the Poisoned Tree, Elijah is looking through his mothers grimoire and tells his sister the dead girl in front of him is about forgiveness which can not be bought and that's what Klaus was trying at. Elijah then sees Hayley and follows her to the kitchen, where she is making breakfast and tells her good morning. Hayley tells him and Rebekah if it would kill them to buy some milk in the house to which Elijah responds he hopes his siblings were hospitable towards Hayley in his absence. Hayley addresses his absence and all the trouble that has happened since. Elijah then brings a bowl, a spoon and a bag of cereal to the counter and smiles sympathetically as he pulls orange juice and milk out of the fridge, pours Hayley a bowl of cereal and then fills it with milk. She tells him that his siblings have been weirdly protective of her and she has Elijah to thank for that. Elijah tells her he's just glad she is in one piece and talks about the witches and that it is time both Hayley and Sophie are unlinked. Rebekah then comes in and drags the dead girl behind, asking who they have to kill. Elijah responds: "Probably no one. Alright, potentially everyone".

After Elijah and Klaus found Sophie, they made her help Hayley and Elijah took Hayley to the pool to slow the temperature until the witch Davina unlinked Sophie and Hayley. Hayley was no longer under the spell that would've killed her child. When he arrived back at the Mikaelson mansion, he discovered Hayley was gone and called Rebekah if Hayley was with her, Klaus then came and told him that Marcel had been here. Elijah then knew she had been abducted by Marcel.

In Bloodletting, Elijah and Klaus confronted Marcel at one of his fight nights, where vampires would fight for the chance to get closer to Marcel's inner circle. Elijah threatened Marcel, saying that he and Klaus would kill everyone there, starting with Marcel, If he did not hand over Hayley to him. When Marcel revealed that he hadn't taken Hayley, he allowed a witch to perform a locator spell as a show of good faith to the Original siblings. Elijah and Klaus tracked her to a truck where Klaus recognized the scent of Tyler Lockwood.

Elijah found Hayley in the woods, having escaped from Tyler and she told him that Tyler had abducted her to test a theory on her baby. He had discovered that her baby's blood could create hybrids, but Hayley informed him that the werewolf Tyler had turned into a hybrid had seemed sired to her rather than Klaus. Hayley also brought up how the only reason Klaus had wanted to protect her was so he could eventually make more hybrids. However, when they found Klaus, who had fought and defeated Tyler, Klaus was furious with his brother's accusation.

Enraged by what he saw as Elijah's betrayal and jealous that he would always be seen as being lesser since he was only Elijah's half-brother, he bit Elijah with his hybrid bite, leaving him and Hayley a parting gift. Later, Elijah told her that the bite wouldn't kill him and Elijah realized he may have been too quick to condemn his brother. Immediately afterwards, they found a bible left at the doorstep which included a family tree side with a list of names, including a name corresponding with Hayley's birth date; Andrea.

In The River in Reverse, Hayley takes care of Elijah who was bitten by Klaus. She refused to leave him even then, when he begins to have hallucinations. During the hallucination he accidentally calls her by the name Celeste, which made Hayley jealous and looks at him with exasperation. Elijah quickly apologizes her for it.

When they arrive to home, she asks him what happened with Celeste. Despite the initial reluctance, Elijah shows to her Celeste's death in his memories. Hayley tries to grab by Elijah's hand but he retracts it. One moment after, he gently puts his hand over hers.

When Elijah and Rebekah talk with Klaus, embittered Klaus says to Elijah: "She's adored you since she arrived, and now my child, my blood, will grow up to call you father."

In Reigning Pain in New Orleans, Elijah is worried about Hayley's safety after Klaus forcefully takes Hayley to his place. Feeling responsible, Elijah goes to rescue Hayley. When Hayley tries to sneak out of The Abattoir backyard and gets caught my Diego, Elijah arrives on time to snap his neck. Elijah offers to bring Hayley to a safe place with him, but Hayley declines. Hayley explains that Klaus ordered a wolf hunt and asks that Elijah rescue her people instead. Elijah listens and later discovers that the werewolves are safe.

When Elijah returns home, he finds Hayley in the French Quarter balcony, and informs her that her family are safe. Hayley and Elijah hug. She tells him that she appreciates what he did and he tells her that she should cover up her birthmark. At this moment, Hayley stares at Elijah’s lips and they almost kiss but Elijah composes himself and leaves.

In The Casket Girls, Hayley has difficulty trying to fasten the zipper on her costume. Elijah, who observed this from behind, appears and helps her fasten her zipper. He compliments her by saying she looks lovely and reminds her to cover up her birthmark. Elijah offers to take her to the festival but Hayley declines, knowing this will further strain Klaus and Elijah’s relationship. At Hayley's motion, Elijah unbuttons and unzips her dress and then leaves.

Elijah comes home and puts Davina's sketches together as Hayley watches with anxiety. They soon realize that the sketches form a larger image, which turns out to be Celeste Dubois, Elijah’s former love. Hayley freaks out because she was the one who looked through Elijah's journals and told Sophie where to find Celeste. Full of nervousness and realizing her mistake, Hayley leaves the room and makes an anxious phone call to Sophie who doesn't pick up.

e Déluge, Elijah starts by narrating the history of the witches to Hayley. Elijah again, comments on the many sketches of Celeste which causes Hayley to tell Elijah he needs to know something. However because of the power in Davina, an earthquake occurs, causing them to get out of the house which interrupts Hayley from confessing her secret. Afterwards, Elijah tells Klaus and Marcel that he needs to talk to a witch. On his way out, Hayley confirms with him if he's going to see Sophie. Elijah tells her she didn't have to eavesdrop and that he doesn't keep any secrets from her. Hayley tells him neither does she and finally comes clean about her plan with Sophie and how she went through his journals to find where he buried Celeste. Elijah who is disappointed, tells Hayley that Celeste made him promise to keep her elsewhere so that she could be at p

eace. Elijah is upset that Hayley had violated the promise he made to Celeste. Hayley is heartbroken at Elijah's words and says she believed they were just bones but Elijah questions her actions and rebukes that if she truly believed that, she should have just asked him and leaves.

At home, Hayley is stacking cans of ham to give to her werewolves in the bayou. Klaus catches her crying because of Elijah’s new opinion of her and tells her to come with him. At the church, Klaus gives Hayley advice and how she should just apologize to Elijah, showing that he approves of them.

When the harvest ritual is over, Hayley asks Elijah if he is ready to forgive her but he says it's not that easy. She admits she was wrong for what she did. Confused, she questions why he can't forgive her.

Elijah states that she should know since he showed her his mind when they were in the bayou. He asks if she had any idea what Celeste means not meant, to him and asserts that love is rare and that he had only found it twice. Hayley responds, “I know what a promise means to you, Elijah', but you made it 200 years ago. I live in the now. If I feel something, I act. If I want something, I take it. I won't choose the dead over the living, so why are you? I'm sorry, Elijah.” As Hayley is about to leave, Elijah grabs her arm and pulls Hayley very close to him and they almost kiss. However, he backs away and

In Dance Back from the Grave, Elijah finds Hayley in Davina's room, and finds her looking through Davina's sketches of Celeste. Hayley states she’s doing this out of boredom because of the vampire lockdown. Elijah assures her that he will deal with them in no time. Hayley notes that it took a supernatural threat for him to come close to her, which showed that he was keeping his distance from her prior to now. Elijah apologizes for neglecting her and explains their interactions agitates Klaus. Hayley points out that it’s a bad deal they can’t hang out because of Klaus.

In the compound, Elijah is worried and tells Hayley that Rebekah hasn't been picking up her phone. He believes it had something to do with Rebekah conspiring against Klaus. This leads him to confront Thierry who reluctantly confesses she was desiccated by the docks. Wanting to help, Hayley asserts that she’s coming too and promises she won’t leave Elijah’s sight.

At the docks, they find Rebekah’s desiccated body within a circle. Because of the convoluted spell, Sophie tells them on the phone that they need a potent ingredient or mystical binding agent to break the spell. Elijah realizes they can use the blood of Hayley's child as an agent because it’s a quarter witch. Hayley agrees and allows Elijah to bite her wrist to draw the blood onto the magic boundary line. Elijah then enters and holds Rebekah’s body and Hayley's hand and then speed vamps them home.

In Crescent City, Elijah takes a tour with Sabine and soon confirms that she is actually Celeste. Celeste kisses Elijah who returns the kiss but then realizes it was poison. Celeste makes him choose between saving his family or Hayley. Elijah is faced with this dilemma and only has the time to save one of them.

Meanwhile, Hayley is trapped in the burning plantation house with Jackson. She informs Elijah that the witches are up to something and tells him her location. Elijah comes and rescues Hayley and asks where Rebekah is. Hayley who doesn't know, asks Elijah to help Jackson. After Elijah pulls Jackson out of the fire, he immediately went out to look for Rebekah but it was too late. In a fit of rage, Elijah walks straight to Marcel and some of his guys and demands to know where Klaus is. Marcel tells him he doesn't know resulting in Elijah throwing Marcel's vampires against the walls. Hayley sees this and yells out his name in disappointment. Elijah stops but orders all the vampires to help him find Rebekah and Klaus.
In Long Way Back From Hell, Elijah goes looking for his missing siblings and approaches Monique who

cryptically advises him to follow the path Celeste left behind. Suddenly, a tattoo of names appear printed over Elijah's body. Elijah heads back home and takes off his shirt. He then calls Hayley to make a list of the names on his body. Marcel informs them that this is a riddle can needs to be solved in order for the tattoo to disappear. Marcel and Elijah then recognizes one of the names on the list, Annie La Fleur and leaves to the village she used to live. In a phone conversation, Hayley tells Elijah to ask Marcel about Brynne Deveraux, a name on the list who was part of Sophie's bloodline that put the curse on her family. Hayley then apologizes for puting Elijah in his predicament after he chose to save her life. Elijah tells her there was no other choice and hangs up.
At the Abbatoir, Elijah questions Marcel about Brynne who recalls that she cursed the werewolves for him. Marcel then confronts Elijah about why the Crescent werewolves were at the plantation with Hayley. This upsets Elijah who warns Ma

rcel not to touch Hayley or he will end his life. Elijah then discovers that every name on his body signifies a witch who killed herself with the exception of Clara Summerlin. The tattoos from Elijah's body finally disappear. Elijah returns back at the compound were Hayley is and reveals that she was right about Brynne. Hayley informs Elijah and Marcel that Clara was a nurse and shows them an old picture of her. Marcel then realizes that Rebekah and Klaus are at the sanatorium and confesses it's because of what Rebekah and him did to the witches. Elijah leaves to rescue his siblings while Hayley knocks Celeste out with a shovel.
In Le Grand Guignol, Hayley and Eve threatens Celeste, who they had tied up, with a shotgun. Hayley demands Celeste to

undo the curse on her werewolf clan. Unexpectedly, Celeste agrees without hesitation and claims she likes Hayley. Celeste then makes a mystical green potion and gives it to Hayley, saying it will break the curse during the next full moon. At that moment, Elijah appears and tells Hayley not to trust Celeste. Hayley tells Elijah to help her or to move aside. Elijah takes no time to snatch the antidote from her and vamp-speeds away, taking Celeste with him.

ayley from breaking the curse, Hayley will hate him for it, but if he allows it, there will be a good chance, she will leave him to be with her family. Celeste happily notes that either choice will ruin his relationship with Hayley. Knowing this, Elijah returns to where Hayley is and decides to give her the cure. Hayley hugs him for helping her and Elijah returns his affection by giving her a gentle kiss on her forehead. Elijah seems to silently acknowledge that Hayley would most likely choose her wolf pack over him and tells her, "I wonder if they have any idea how lucky they are to have you."

In Moon Over Bourbon Street, Elijah is in a meeting with a representative from each species (vampire, witch, and human) to sign a peace treaty, but he didn't include the werewolves. Hayley learns about this meeting and gets upset with Elijah for having excluded the werewolves.

She arrives to the meeting and interrupts them. Elijah adjourns the meeting to be alone with Hayley. He tells her that if she had any idea what it took just to get those people in one room together. Hayley replies angrily that she doesn't because she didn't even know about the meeting until someone else told her. She ask Elijah if he left the werewolves out because of her, and Elijah tells her it was because they no longer reside in the French Quarter and that his immediate concern is to end the mounting conflict there is. He then assures her that once the treaty is solidified, it will expand to include her people. Elijah tries to persuade Hayley to return with them instead of staying in the bayou with werewolves. However, Hayley isn't happy about that and tells him that the wolves deserve a voice and that he know it's the right thing to do and leaves. Afterwards, Klaus and Elijah decide to throw a party and invited everyone, including the werewolves. When Hayley arrives to the party, Elijah looks surprised by her beauty.

Later, Elijah asks Hayley to dance and extends his hand to her, Hayley takes his hand and they start dancing. Hayley tells Elijah that he outdid himself because he even got Klaus to come out and play, they talk about Klaus and Elijah tells her that he hopes her daughter inherits everything from her. They smile at each other and Hayley tells him it is weird being back. Elijah replies that he hopes it isn't unpleasant but Hayley says that not entirely looking at his eyes, apparently referring to him. Elijah ask her if she is entirely sure she shouldn't be with them, but that bothers Hayley and at that moment, Jackson arrives and ask Hayley to dance. Elijah disagrees but Hayley accepts the dance with Jackson and leaves Elijah unpleased. From a distance, Elijah listens to the conversation between Jackson and Hayley.

Sign peace treaty

Later in the party there is a confrontation between Oliver and Diego, Elijah stops Oliver and Jackson stops Diego and is holding a dagger pointing in Diego's heart. Hayley comes in the stairs and tells Elijah to kill Oliver, she gives a speech about how they have hurt each other, and that killing each other would put an end to war. Elijah understood her point and ends his attack on Oliver, Jackson does the same. Later, as each representative signs the treaty with their blood, Elijah and Hayley look at each other while doing so.

In The Big Uneasy, Hayley is in the bayou with the werewolves and Elijah arrives to invite them to the celebration in honor of the witches. Hayley is reluctant to accept the invitation because she sees the witches as their enemy. However, Jackson accepts Elijah's invitation and tells Elijah that they will send a representative with a gift for the witches. Hayley leaves annoyed but Elijah stops her with his vampire speed, saying that Jackson is suspicious for accept the invitation very easy. He tells her that she shouldn't trust Jackson or any of them and leaves.

Hayley arrives at the party as Elijah is welcoming the guests. He is surprised to see that Hayley has come to the party alone without her friends, the wolves. She tells him that they have sent to her as their representative so it's his decision if he wants to take her or leave her. Elijah smiles and offers his arm, Hayley takes it and they enter the party. The guests are surprised by a band of instruments, Elijah approaches Hayley to see the show. Then the band says they have a message fromMarcel. They then cut their wrists and the vampires at the party begin to show their fangs from the smell of blood. Elijah tries to calm the situation, however, there is a power outage and the vampires start attacking the humans.

Elijah helps Hayley

Elijah tries to find Hayley, screaming her name. When the light is turned back on, Hayley calls Elijah to help her. Elijah helps her up and they see a message in blood on the wall that says "There will be no peace."

Later, Hayley is in the bayou with Jackson and other wolves, she is smiling and seems to be happy, Elijah watches her from afar. Eve approaches him and tells him that everything will be fine, if not, she will call him, Eve invites him to hang out with the werewolves but Elijah tells her that the only thing that he wants is fort Hayley to be happy. He smiles and then tells Eve to not tell Hayley that he was there.

In An Unblinking Death, Hayley is in the bayou with the other wolves, talking about the birth of her baby with Eve. Elijah arrives and Hayley seem to be annoyed. He says that he needs to talk with the conspirators of a supposed uprising, referring to her, Jackson and Oliver.

They meet in a cabin, and Elijah tries to convince them not to make a deal with Klaus since he is unreliable. Elijah reminds Hayley that she signed a pledge and Hayley replies the werewolves don't want to fight, they just want a better life. Elijah says that an alliance with Klaus will not give them that.

At that moment, they heard a noise outside and they leave the cabin. A man arrives in a motorcycle and although Elijah tries to stop him, a bomb explodes. There are many wounded and Hayley tries to help a man on the ground. Elijah comes where she is, and she tells him she has to help him. Elijah helpS the man, but he is clearly more worried about Hayley. Hayley tells him that she's fine and that they need his help and then leaves to find out who did this.

After that, Oliver tells her that the vampires didn't bomb the bayou. However, Hayley goes looking for Marcel. In her car, Hayley calls Elijah and tells him that she has to take care of something and will be back as soon as she can. Elijah asks her where she is but she tells him that she is fine and that he should just take care of the pack while she is gone. She then hangs up the phone.

Later, Hayley returns to the bayou and realizes that Elijah stayed. She approaches Elijah who is looking at Oliver encouraging the werewolves to arm a war against the vampires. Hayley asks him what happened, and he tells that when she left, there were more explosions. He adds that her friend Jackson will need her help as the werewolves will want vengeance. Hayley enters the cabin and realizes that Eve has died.

In A Closer Walk With Thee, Elijah and Klaus are in a bar where the people are celebrating the funeral of Father Kieran. Hayley arrives and sits with them. Elijah warns her about Klaus being grumpy and she shares her frustration about the whole situation with Oliver. Klaus suggests that Hayley return to their house but Hayley isn't too excited because she wants to prove to the

m that she can take care of herself. Klaus shares he has been having nightmares about Mikael and Elijah tells him he does as well. They think Genevieve is the one responsible.

Later, at the funeral motorcade, Hayley goes in company of Elijah and Klaus. She starts coughing and Elijah asks if she's okay. She replies that she's is very pregnant and pissed at the world. Elijah tells her that she looks lovely and they smile. Elijah tells Hayley that Klaus just wants to keep her and the baby safe. After talking, Hayley leaves.

In the Caravan, Hayley starts coughing and faints, Elijah carries Hayley to the Mikaelson house. Genevieve goes with them to help but Elijah fears that she might hurt Hayley. He tries to stop her but Klaus agrees to receive her help.

Elijah is very worried about her because she isn't waking up and he is horrified to see that she is not breathing, Klaus in an attempt to save the baby tries to get the baby out of Hayley but Elijah stops him as this would cause her death. Klaus tells him that he doesn't want to lose the baby but Elijah tells him that he doesn't want to lose that women, referring to Hayley. Then Klaus feeds Hayley his blood but it doesn't work. Elijah is in despair throwing a chair against the wall. Genevieve helps Hayley and finally she awakens. Hayley tells them that she saw Mikael while she was unconscious and that he tried to kill her. Later, Elijah tries to make a deal with Genevieve and asks her to make a moonlight ring for Hayley.

Hayley is looking out the window, watching the celebrations for Father Kieran's funeral, Elijah arrives and she tells him that if she dies and they make a feast for that, she'll be very pissed. Elijah approaches her and tells her that she almost did and that in a thousand years, he can't recall a time when he felt so afraid. Hayley says nothing and as Elijah is about to leave, Hayley says his name and he turns to her. Hayley then approaches him and kisses him passionately. After finishing the kiss, they remain with their eyes closed. Elijah disappears and Hayley opens her eyes and smiles, apparently happy for that kiss.

In The Battle of New Orleans, Elijah is with Hayley in his house, he calls Klaus to the phone asking about the disappearance two werewolves, Jakson And oliver, Klaus tells them that he is already on the job to find them and that's why he had not said anything to them. He suspect that was Marcel who kidnapping them, Hayley say that he will kill them but Klaus has a plan for find Marcel before.

Elijah and Klaus find to Jackson, Elijah receives a call from Hayley, she asks him what is happening as she is concerned about them, Elijah tells her that Jackson is fine and that he will call her later, Klaus sniggers at Elijah's joke, and flips open another crate. Inside are another handful of bombs, with a folded slip of paper on top. Klaus frowns, just as the red blinking light on the bombs turn green, Hayley asks again what is happening but then the bomb explodes and Elijah takes Jakson and they escape, Hayley has heard the explosion over the phone, and is terrified.

Hayley is pacing around in the study when Elijah, Klaus, and Jackson, all looking very disheveled and covered in ash, return home, Jakson hugs Hayley, Elijah nods at her and watches as Hayley and Jackson sit down to tend to his wounds. Hayley asks him for the stones that will be used in the spell but Elijah replied that he imagined scattered across the bed of the Mississippi, they keep talking about Marcel and the stone, Klaus says them that he always has a backup plan.

Downstairs, Francesca walks into the compound with five other men, all of whom are wearing suits, and one of whom has brought a briefcase. Klaus, Elijah and Hayley go down to greet her, Klaus has made a pact with her and she gives them the stones, Elijah joins them a little upset because he knew nothing of the plan.

Upstairs, Hayley is patching Jackson up, they are talking él tells to her that Elijah really cares about her, she says that it's complicated. When Jackson is leaving Elijah approaches them. Jackson thanks to Elijah and Elijah nods in acknowledgement of his thanks. Hayley and Elijah stare at each other, Elijah tells her that he understand that Jakson risked his life to save his friend and that he's a good man, Hayley agrees. She stay in silent for a moment and then she says him that there's something that she need to tell him. She tells him that because of her family, she was supposed to be betrothed to Jackson. Elijah is shocked, she continued saying that she wanted to tell him sooner but she just didn't know how. Elijah interrupts to her telling that she don't have to explain it and that he understand the need to make sacrifices for one's family.

Hayley waits for him to continue, but he stays silent, she is annoying for Elijah reaction and she tell him that for once in his immortal life, can he just not be so noble, Elijah is confused by that, he ask her what would she want him to do, she says him that she just told him that she is betrothed, according to some backwater arrangement by people that she never knew, she want him to tell her that he think that betrothals are stupid and that she have a choice, she will continue talking but Elijah stops her and kisses her passionately. The two kiss for a long moment before he pulls away, they stare at each other and Elijah tells her that she will always have a choice.

Genevieve continues to cast the moonlight ring spell in the Mikaelson compound, while Klaus, Hayley, and Elijah watch carefully, Francesca arrives telling them that her people say Marcel is on the move, and he's bringing friends. Klaus tells Elijah to get Hayley to safety and he leaves. Elijah walks over to Hayley and grabs her arm telling her that come with him, but Hayley tells him that someone needs to watch Genevieve, Francesca tells him that she will to stay with Hayley, Elijah doesn't want to leave Hayley but she tells to him that he has to go, she walks over to him and looks him in the eyes, she tells him that he don't hold back, Elijah reluctantly agrees and leaves to help Klaus.

After the battle with the wolves Elijah returns in search of Hayley, Marcel and Camille are in his home, Camille tells him that Marcel doesn't have to Hayley and that was Genevieve and Francesca, it's mean that Hayley has been kidnapped.

Klaus-Hayley and Elijah 1x22.. — Elijah finds to Hayley dead

In From a Cradle to a Grave, Elijah bursts into the church looking for Hayley and screaming her name, he stops dead in his tracks, panting and out of breath as a result of the werewolf bites, and struggles to focus his vision. Eventually, he sees that Klaus is sitting at the sacristy, with Hayley's head resting in his lap, Elijah approaches them, he can't believe what he is seeing, he falls to his knees next to Hayley and realizes that she's dead and Klaus tells to him that she is gone, Elijah starts to cry, which causes Klaus to start to cry, too.

Elijah lays Hayley's body back onto the table at the sacristy while Klaus sits nearby, he ask to Klaus how was her death and Klaus tells to him that he was bested, Elijah become furious with Klaus but he tells to Elijah that they witches have to the baby and that the can save her.

Klaus and Elijah are in the cemetery, still trying to find the baby, they are walking through the maze illusion in the cemetery, using a stone like a piece of chalk in order to mark the tombs that they pass. Klaus says that what they need is focus and Elijah tells him that his only focus right now is the baby and her safety, he got furious agin with Klaus and tells him that all is the world that he created, Klaus tries to speak but Elijah interrupts him, Elijah tells him that all of his scheming, the enemies that he have made every single day, Elijah asks to Kaus what did he expect, that the mother would be alive to know her daughter, that they could live and thrive as some sort of family, Klaus tells that that was Elijah's fantasy, not of him. Elijah enraged tells him that the baby and Hayley was their hope, that was their family's hope, trying to catch his breath and continue speaking he says that she is gone, refering to Hayley, with tears in his eyes he tells Klaus that he let her in, trying to hold back tears, he says that he don't let people in that he knew that and that he took her from him, he also says that he needed her and that Klaus broken him, Elijah sits down on the stoop of one of the tombs and puts his head in his hands, Klaus quietly sits down next to him and grips his arm in comfort. Klaus tells Elijah that he can tell to his niece how much he cared for her mother when they save her.

Elijah and Hayley 1x22... — Hayley with Elijah after her return to the life

Klaus and Elijah are breaking their way through the illusion by destroying the tombs. When they reach a room full of candles, they stop and catch their breath, they realize that they had already gone through the same side twice in that moment Hayley arrives , telling them that need to be smarter, Elijah and Klaus freeze when they heard her and they turn to see her. Hayley stands in the doorway, dazed and exhausted-looking, Elijah and Klaus are shocked to see that she is alive, Elijah rushes over to touch her face to make sure she isn't an illusion, Elijah asks to her how are she there and she numb and dazed tells to them that when she woke up in the church, she felt hunger and that knew what she needed. She says that she can feel her baby, Elijah looks confused, but Klaus realizes what has happened, Hayley died with the baby's blood still in her system and she's in transition and she need baby's blood to become in a hybrid. Hayley tells that she don't care about herself and that she will gonna go find their daughter, sheleaves, and Elijah and Klaus rush after her.

Later, Hayley, Elijah, and Klaus are still searching through the cemetery for the baby, they turns a corner and see Genevieve holding a knife above the baby's head, Hayley scream in panic and Elijah picks up an urn and lobs it at the witches, which slams against Genevieve's hand and knocks the athame onto the ground. The three run toward them, so Monique and Abigail hold each other's hands and channel the ancestors' power to throw them backwards while Genevieve goes to find the knife. As the witches continue to use magic against them, Elijah and Klaus can see that hundreds and hundreds of the dead witches have come together to protect them as they complete their sacrifice. Klaus and Hayley each run in opposite directions, while Elijah continues to rush straight towards them, in hopes of overpowering them, Hayley finds Genevieve picking up the athame, and starts to fist-fight her to keep her from using it against the baby. She once again knocks the knife out of her hand and into the ground, Klaus gets cornered by the spirits of Papa Tunde's twin sons, who telekinetically throw Klaus into a tomb, shattering it. Hayley knocks Genevieve down and runs toward the baby, but Genevieve casts a pain infliction spell on Hayley, which makes her fall onto her knees. Meanwhile, Monique and Abigail are still using their powers combined powers to channel the full strength of the ancestors, Elijah fights to get close enough to them to get the baby. Klaus pulls himself out of the tomb and angrily rushes toward the action. Klaus sees a wrought iron fence, and breaks off one of the spikes. He throws it forcefully toward Abigail, which impales her through the stomach and kills her, breaking the connection that she and Monique had to the ancestors, Monique quickly runs to grab the athame to finish the sacrifice herself. Klaus and Elijah vamp-speed toward her, but she uses her magic to block them using a wall of fire.

Genevieve continues the pain infliction spell to prevent Hayley's interference. Just as Monique is about to sacrifice the baby, she's hit with the Devil's Star, which embeds itsef in her stomach. Her body becomes covered in cuts, and she coughs up blood before falling to the ground. Klaus and Elijah turn around to see that Marcel was the one who saved the baby. Before they can say anything, Marcel vamp-speeds to the baby, and then vamp-speeds away with it, Klaus follows after him.Later, Elijah and Hayley are shackling Genevieve in one of the tombs to get information from her, Genevieve then tells them that Esther is behind the plan to kill the baby, Hayley and Elijah just glare at her, Genevieve begins to bleed from her eye, she starts to choke up blood. Hayley watches her for a moment before sighing and stabbing her in the stomach, Hayley walks out of the tomb, as Elijah follows her with his look.

Later on their house, Elijah and Klaus are talking about Hope's security and Hayley intervenes, Hayley takes the decision to send they baby away from them to protect her, she says that they must first make New Orleands a safe place for the baby, Elijah disagree but comes to accept when Klaus tells him that they will make the baby pass for dead. Later, in the nursery, Hayley packs up the baby's bag with the letter she wrote to her. Elijah helps her lift the baby out of her cradle and into her arms. Hayley looks away as Elijah gently sticks the baby's finger with a pin to release a large drop of blood. Reluctantly, Hayley kisses the blood off of her finger to complete her transition.

Hayley and Elijah are seen together at an altar made for the people killed by the war and they try to make that the people think that the baby was among the dead, when Hayley approaches to the baby's space, she begins to mourn and Elijah reaches his hand to her.

(Sophie enters the vault.)

(Hayley and Elijah are in a huge, white house. Hayley pulls a sheet off of a crib, coughing because of the dust.)

Elijah: " Are you alright?

Hayley: " Just dust. This place is ancient.

Elijah: " Yes, it should serve our purposes. It's a sanctuary from our business in the Quarter. Right now, you are the most important person in this family. You need a good home. So I'm curious... in all this time, has anyone asked you how you feel?

Elijah: "You know, I do hope my siblings were hospitable to you, in my absence.

Hayley: " In your absence, as you like to call it, which is a way-too-polite way of saying that your brother put a dagger in your heart...(looks up to see Elijah bringing a bowl, a spoon, and a bag of cereal to the counter) I have been attacked by French Quarter vampires, I've had to live in a house with a secret dungeon full of coffins, and I was nearly murdered by witches who are convinced my baby is Lucifer.

(Elijah smiles sympathetically as he pulls orange juice and milk out of the fridge, pours Hayley a bowl of cereal, and then fills it with milk)

Hayley: " (notices the milk) Oh...milk. They've been fine. Your siblings are weirdly protective, I know I have you to thank for that.

Elijah: " I'm just happy to see that you're in one piece. [smiles] So, back to the murderous witches. [hands her the bowl of cereal] I have some concerns.

Hayley: " They're evil. And, my life is still magically linked to Sophie Deveraux, which is not comforting.

Rebekah: " I am all for it. As soon as they're unlinked, we get to leave this crap town. [drags the dead girl's body across the kitchen floor] Who do we have to kill?

(Hayley looks at him questioningly)

Elijah: " Alright, potentially everyone.

(In the swimming pool, Hayley hyperventilates)

Hayley: " I can't breathe!

(Hayley runs as fast as she can through the woods, Tyler's knife still in hand, and stops to hide behind a tree. As she catches her breath, she hears someone approaching. She braces herself, readies her knife, and turns to attack, but it's just Elijah. He holds her hand steady to protect himself.)

Elijah: " Forgive me! I thought you were in danger, it appears I was mistaken. [smiles]

(Hayley is sitting against a tree as she tells Elijah what she's learned. Elijah paces anxiously as he listens)

Hayley: " Klaus must have known, that's the only explanation! He could care less about the baby, he just wants her to be born so he can use her to make more sired hybrids.

(She looks at Elijah, and they share a look before Elijah looks away, troubled by Hayley's news)

Hayley: " Although...the way that Dwayne was acting...it was more like he was sired to me.

Hayley: " You don't have to help. I can dig through the werewolf antique show on my own. Besides, [looks at his neck wound] shouldn't you put some kind of ointment, or something, on that?

Elijah: " The bite won't kill me. Like Niklaus himself, it's more than a nuisance than anything.

Hayley: " Good, 'cause I'm eventually going to need a ride home. [smiles] And thanks, by the way, for staying out here. You didn't have to.

Elijah: " I know. But, you said the people of this village are the only family you have left. I can relate.

Elijah: " [sighs] Perhaps I was too willing to condemn him. In the thousand years that we have been together, my brother has committed numerous unspeakable acts. But, then again, so has Rebekah. So have I.

Hayley: " So did I, the last time I was in Cabo. [Elijah stares at her, confused] We've all done bad things. It's just, most people die before the list gets embarrassing. But, don't for a second compare yourself to Klaus.

(The two stare at each other intensely. After a long moment, they both look away awkwardly)

Hayley: " It's like a freaking hot box in here, I'm gonna get some air.

(Hayley leaves to walk out onto the porch. When she gets outside, she finds a Bible laying on the corner of the porch. She picks it up and begins to flip through it. After a few moments, Elijah joins her outside)

Hayley: " A Bible, with a family history that goes back generations.

(The two pore over the the Bible's pages. There are many names and birthdates documented, the last of which is "Andrea Labonair 6 June 1991")

Elijah: " What are these names? Who is Andrea?

Hayley: " (shocked) I think I am... That's the day that I was born.

(Elijah is laying on a bed in the hut, Hayley stand beside the bed.)

Hayley: " Here, drink this.

(Elijah drinks it, but immediately starts to cough.)

Elijah: " Forgive me. Please.

Hayley: " It's okay. Remind me to annihilate your brother once you're healthy.

Elijah: " Yes, remind me to remind you to get in line.

Hayley: " It doesn't help that we decided to shack up in a swamp either.

(Hayley goes outside. Elijah starts to cough. Hayley goes back inside.)

(Outside, the werewolf Eve is lurking around.)

(Hayley is outside the hut by a lake, Elijah is groaning with pain. Hayley goes in and sits down on the bed and lays a hand on his forehead and in the Elijah's memory A woman, Celeste, is sitting in a bathtub, Elijah enters the room. And return to the present time)

Elijah: " Celeste?

(Hayley looks irritated. Elijah suddenly realizes it was just a memory.)

Elijah: " Hayley, I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else.

Hayley: " Celeste. Whoever she was, she was smokin' hot.

Elijah: " Did I let you enter my thoughts? I'm not well. I should go. This is...

Hayley: " This is fine, Elijah. You're sick, I'm taking care of you.

Elijah: " We're being watched.

(Hayley goes outside. Eve is standing near the hut. When she sees Hayley, she runs away.)

Hayley: " Hey. Hey!

Elijah: " (He shivers and groans in pain.) Hayley, please. This fever. My mind is flooded with these torturous memories. You have to leave.

Hayley: " What is your deal? You don't like people taking care of you?

Elijah: " There are consequences for those that care. I will not have you pay that price.

Elijah: " Hayley, you came here to gather an information about your family, not to play nursemaid to a vampire with a temperature. Please, find her. Learn what you can.

Hayley: " No, I'm staying.

(Elijah is breathing loudly. Hayley sits on the bed with her hand on his forehead.)

Elijah: " Celeste. Forgive me. I'm sorry

(Elijah startles up scared. He screams loudly, Hayley seems worried.)

Hayley: " Elijah?

(Elijah jumps up and put his hand around Hayley's neck. Hayley starts fighting for air. Suddenly someone stabs Elijah in the back. It's the werewolf Eve.)

Hayley: "(gasping) Hello to you too.

(Hayley and Eve are talking outside, near a bonfire and Elijah appears.)

Elijah: " Good evening. Think I might have something which belongs to you.

(He shows the stake Eve used to dagger him.)

Hayley: " Elijah, I've got this. Are you okay?

Elijah: " The wound is healed, the fever is broken but for some strange reason I have this sharp and lingering sensation in my back.

Hayley: " (to Eve) I have to get him home. But I'll be back, okay? I need to know more.

Eve: " Keep that mark covered up.

(Eve leaves.)

Elijah: " What happened?

Hayley: " I just met part of my family.

(Elijah and Hayley are sitting in a car.)

Elijah: " (smiling) Quite the awkward little adventure, wouldn't you say? I'm sorry I tried to hurt you, I would never want that.

Hayley: " It is important. Thousand years of memories and that's what breaks through your fever brain? I wanna know. Show me!

(Elijah lays his hand on the back of Hayley's head.He shows her some memories of Celeste'S death)

Elijah: " It was a cruel and bloody time to be a witch. Courtesy of my wonderful brother.

Hayley: " She died because of Klaus?

Elijah: " She died because of me. Because I cared too deeply for her. I had allowed my brother to slip through my grasp. I loosened the reigns while Celeste consumed my every moment. I had abandoned him in the name of my own happiness. Celeste payed the price.

Hayley: " I don't get it. (She shakes her head.) Why are we here? Why are you trying to put together your family when it's so clear that one part of it is broken?

Elijah: " To me, the very definition of the word "broken" suggests that something can be fixed. I have a whole eternity to accomplish one single task: My brother's salvation. If I surrender this, then tell me what value would I be to my family, to myself, to ... to your child?

(Hayley lays her hand upon Elijah's.)

Elijah: " (shaking his head) Please, Hayley. You've seen what happens.

(Elijah holds her hand. After a moment he leaves the car.)

(Hayley walks alone as she tries to sneak out of the backyard of the Abbatoir. She looks around to see if she's being watched. Suddenly Diego cuts in front of her)

Diego: " Going somewhere?

(Elijah appears and breaks Diego's neck by throwing him into the wall)

Hayley: " Elijah, you shouldn't be here. Klaus has his guys watching me.

Elijah: " I wouldn't worry about them.

(Rebekah comes along, kicking down two other vampires who were hiding around the corner)

Elijah: " Come, we mustn't linger. We'll get you some place safe.

Hayley: " No, you don't have to worry about me. I'm fine. I've been deemed under protection by the almighty Klaus. It's the werewolves who need help. He ordered a wolf hunt as some jacked-up peace offering to Marcel's crew. You have to help them.

Rebekah: " Out in the bayou? Do we look like a bloody vampire-rescue-squad? I think you should be grateful we came to save you!

Hayley: " Listen. Rebekah. All my life, I've wanted to know who my real family was, and just as I find out that they're out there in the bayou, Klaus orders them killed. You wanna help me? Help my people. Please.

(Hayley is on her own. Elijah turns up)

Hayley: " Are they..?

Elijah: " They're safe. All of them. [he smiles at her]

(Hayley and Elijah hug)

Hayley: " Thank you. What you did, Elijah, it means a lot.

(Elijah notices Hayley's bare shoulder and her crescent moon birthmark)

Elijah: " You should keep this covered up.

Hayley: " I will.

Elijah: " If any of the others saw this...

Hayley: " I promise.

Elijah: " I should go.

(Hayley looks at Elijah's lips and clearly she wants to kiss him. He barely manages to keep himself composed and doesn't give in to it)

Hayley: " Right.

(Elijah disappears)

-- Reigning Pain in New Orleans

(Hayley is standing in front of a mirror, rubbing her stomach and looking over her costume and trying to fasten the zipper. Elijah appears at the door behind her.)

Elijah: " Would you like some help?

Hayley: " You might need to use all your vampire strength.

Elijah: " Allow me.

(Elijah stands behind her and begins to fasten her zipper and buttons.)

Hayley: " Thanks. Not too many pregnant Casket Girls, I guess.

Elijah: " I think you look lovely. Only I would-

(He touches her birth mark and she covers it with her hand)

Hayley: " I know, keep the freaky werewolf birthmark covered.

Elijah: " Well, I don't suspect any of the riff-raff here would dare lay a hand on you knowing you're under the protection of my family, still you shouldn't take any chances.

(Hayley looks at herself in the mirror and sighs)

Hayley: " All knocked up and nowhere to go.

Elijah: " Oh, if you wanted the attend the festivities tonight, I would be more than willing to take you.

Hayley: " Hmm, you and Klaus are barely on speaking terms, lets not rock the boat, okay?

Elijah: " Of course.

Hayley: " Elijah, do you mind?

(Hayley motions to her zipper and Elijah steps forwards unbuttoning and unzipping her dress. He hesitates before smiling and leaving.)

(Elijah is on the floor, putting together a drawing made by Davina)

Hayley: " You ok?

Elijah: " I'm better now. How was your day?

Hayley: " Killer. What's with the artwork?

Elijah: " Davina's sketches. I wonder if they represent some kind of premonition. They seem to suggest something is coming. Something sinister.

Hayley: " Oh, my god. Isn't that...

(They realize that the person in the drawing is Celeste)

-- The Casket Girls

(Klaus, Elijah and Hayley are sitting in the room, worry about the situation with Davina and then Klaus left them alone. Hayley is worried because she has to talk with Elijah about Celeste.)

Hayley: " There's something you need to know.

(In that moment starts shaking and they leave the room)

(Hayley hears a conversation between Elijah and Klaus, when Elijah leaves the room she is waiting for him.)

Hayley: " You're going to see Sophie.

Elijah: " You don't have to eavesdrop. I keep nothing from you.

(they continue walking.)

Hayley: " Yeah. Well, I don't want to keep anything from you either, and if you're going out to see Sophie, then there's something that you should know. She called me and asked me for a favor. She promised me that she would help break the curse that Marcel put on my people in exchange for some information. And I didn't think anything of it, but then Davina started doing those pictures of Celeste...

(Elijah stops and Hayley is worried about his reaction)

Elijah: " Whatever this is, you have to tell me.

Hayley: " Sophie wanted to find Celeste's remains, so I went through your journals, and I found out where you buried her, and then I told her. I know it was stupid and it was snoopy, And I.. I should have just asked you... Please say something. Please.

(Her eyes fill with tears and Elijah looks at her puzzled)

Elijah: " She wanted to be left in peace. When a witch's remains are consecrated, that power fuels the rest of their community. Celeste did not want her remains to be found. She made me promise to bury her where she would not be found. You not only violated my privacy, You have broken my promise to her.

Hayley: " I thought they were just bones, Elijah.

Elijah: " If you truly believed that, why didn't you ask me where to find her?

(he leaves and leaves her alone)

(Hayley is walking alone down the street and Elijah reaches to her)

Hayley: " Are you ready to forgive me yet?

Elijah: " It's not that easy, Hayley.

Hayley: " Elijah, I was wrong to go through your journals, I was wrong to tell Sophie about Celeste, but after everything that happened today, I don't know why we can't see past this.

Elijah: " And you of all people should know why. During my fever in the bayou, you were inside my mind. You know what Celeste means to me.

(They stop and look at each other.)

Hayley: " Don't you mean meant to you?

Elijah: " No. Do you have any idea how rare love is? In a thousand years, I have found it but twice, and when I have, I have honored it.

Hayley: " I know what a promise means to you, Elijah, but you made it 200 years ago. I live in the now. If I feel something, I act. If I want something, I take it. I won't choose the dead over the living, so why are you?

(He remains in silent.)

Hayley: " I'm sorry, Elijah.

(She is about to leave but he stops her, they are close to almost kiss but Elijah turns his face away, Hayley leaves bewildered.)

Elijah: " There you are.

Hayley: " Here I am.

Elijah: " Davina's drawings.

Hayley: " Yeah. Morbid, I know. I was just thinking, we never figured out why she drew those pictures of Celeste. Anyway, I'm just killing time now that I'm on vampire lockdown.

Elijah: " Whoever did this, we will deal with them. It won't be long.

Hayley: " I'm not worried. Just think it's kind of funny that it took some big, supernatural threat for you to even come into the same room as me.

Elijah: " I do apologize if you feel neglected. I have been occupied.My siblings are in some quarrel. Niklaus remains agitated. You'll recall that even our slightest interactions seem to Infuriate him.

Hayley: " So Klaus is a dick, and you want to be a good big brother. So we can't hang out. That sum it up? I get it, Elijah. It just seems like a really crappy deal.

Elijah: " Rebekah is not answering her calls.

Hayley: " You worried about whoever killed those daywalkers still being out there?

Elijah: " Frankly, I'm worried that she had something to do with this. She's very displeased with Niklaus, perhaps even conspiring with others.

Hayley: " I'm coming with you.

Elijah: " No. Stay here. The compound is safe.

Hayley: " Rebekah is in trouble. I'm going.

Elijah: " Do not leave my sight. Understand?

Elijah: " (turns to Hayley.) I need a favor.

Hayley: " The baby. She's a quarter witch.

(Hayley gives Elijah her wrist. He bites it drawing blood. They walk towards the magic circle together. Elijah holds out Hayley's wrist and lets the blood fall on the magic boundary line. It starts to fizzle and deteriorate. Elijah is able to get through. He picks up Rebekah and takes her out of the circle. He reaches for Hayley's hand, and then he speed vamps out of there with Rebekah and Hayley.)

-- Dance Back from the Grave

(Elijah's lying on the ground. His phone starts buzzing. He awakens, still breathing heavily.)

Elijah: " Hayley.

Hayley: " Elijah, something's going on with the witches.

Elijah: " Listen to me. You were right. Celeste is back. Niklaus, Rebekah – you're all in danger.

(At the plantation house, the door claps shut by a gust of wind.)

Jackson: " What's going on?

Hayley: " It's a trap. I didn't make a deal with any witch.

Jackson: " What?

Elijah: " Hayley, you have to find Rebekah. You stay with her until I get there.

(The house is catching fire.)

Hayley: " Elijah, it's a spell. They're trapping us inside.

(Hayley coughs. The fire gains size. Suddenly a window shatters. It's Elijah, fighting his way through the fire. He lifts Hayley and brings her outside.)

Elijah: " Where's Rebekah?

Hayley: " I don't know. She went off with one of them. Elijah, my friend is still in there.

(Jackson falls to the floor, coughing as the fire rages on. Elijah rushes back into the house to save Jackson.)

-- Crescent City

(Marcel turns to fetch the pen and paper from the desk drawer as Elijah removes his shirt and calls out for Hayley)

Elijah: " Hayley!

Hayley: " Elijah! You’re back…Did you find any—(she pauses when she sees him shirtless and covered in tattoos) thing? What is happening?

Elijah: " I need you to make a list of these names.

Hayley: " Sabine? Elijah what is this?

Elijah: " I believe they represent the names of the women Celeste inhabited for the past two centuries.

(Marcel rejoins them and hands the paper and pen to Hayley)

Marcel: " it's called a Devinette. It's old school. Kind of a riddle. Witches use them to teach their kids. Solve it and it disappears.

Hayley: " why? What’s the point?

Elijah: " Celeste forced me to make a choice between yourself and my siblings, and now she means to mock that choice, taunting me with a childish game. The longer the game, the more they suffer. To find Klaus and Rebekah, we need to solve this riddle. The solution lies somewhere in these names.

Marcel: " the name next to Sabine…Annie La Fleur, she’s the witch that was shunned from her coven just over a year ago. Never knew why but I can find out.

(Elijah is walking down a busy street on his cell phone with Hayley explaining what happened to Annie La Fleur.)

Hayley: " she killed herself?

Elijah: " yes, drowned herself in the Mississippi, to be precise; Celeste was clearly tired of the body and ready to take Sabine’s.

Hayley: " how do you know that?

Elijah: " because she leaped to her death from the very location Celeste and I had our first kiss.

Hayley: " poetic I guess in a creepy vendetta sort of way.

Elijah: " All these names, these lives, stolen that Celeste might take her revenge. I suppose we have no choice but to see where they take us. Hayley, I have to go. I'll call you back.

Hayley: " Elijah wait!

Elijah: " what is it?

Hayley: " Ask Marcel if he knows anything about a name on that list Brynne Deveraux. Sophie said that it was her family's bloodline that put the curse on the crescent wolves, but Celeste said that she was the only one that could break it. If Brynne Deveraux was actually Celeste when she cast the spell, then maybe Celeste can still break it.

Elijah: " I’ll see what he knows

Hayley: " Elijah, I’m really sorry that you’re going through this. If I had known that Celeste made you choose who to help-

Elijah: " you were going to die in that fire Hayley along with my brother’s child there was no choice.

(he hangs up before she can respond)

(Hayley is typing on the computer as Elijah enters)

(before she can say anything Marcel enters)

Marcel: " find anything about Clara the mystery witch.

-- Long Way Back From Hell'

(Sabine sits on a tree stump her hands still tied together but she has managed to mix together some herbs into a mason jar. Elijah appearing in the bayou behind them, Sabine turns)

Hayley: " Elijah, it's ok. I'm ok.

Elijah: " She cannot be trusted.

Hayley: " She's the only one that can help my pack.

Elijah: " Do you have any idea what she has done to our family?

Hayley: " I know you want revenge, and come the next full moon, when I'm sure her cure works, she's all yours.

Elijah: " Are you suggesting that we hold her, her, captive for an entire month? It would take an army.

Hayley: " And I've got one. (the wolves howl) So help me or get out of my way.

(Elijah pauses only for a moment and then at vampire speed he grabs Sabine and the jar from Hayley she gasps as he and Sabine disappear.)'

(Elijah and Sabine return to the Bayou where Hayley sits on a log; she is alone with the exception of one wolf who has stayed behind; Jackson.)

Hayley: " You came back.

Elijah: " I'll always come back. Take it. It will work.

Hayley: " Eve and I will round up as many of our people as we can. Come full moon, I can finally free my family. (she hugs him and and he kisses her forehead )

Elijah: " Hayley (they share a tender moment) I wonder if they have any idea how lucky they are to have you. :(Hayley smiles and leaves with Jackson)

(Elijah is in a reunion with a representative of each species vampire, witch, human for sign a peace treaty but he hasn't included werewolves)

Hayley: " (walks into the room unannounced) Are you serious? You're dividing up the city, and the werewolves don't even get a say?

Diego: " What the hell is she doing here?

Elijah: " Diego, sit. We are not dividing the city. We're establishing boundaries.

(Elijah end the reunion and stay alone with Hayley.)

Hayley: " No, Elijah! There is not gonna be a peace if the werewolves are excluded. They want a seat at the table. And if they don't get one, I can guarantee that you will all regret it.

Elijah: " Do you have any idea what it took just to get those people in one room together?

Hayley: " No, actually, I don't because I didn't even know what you were doing out here until someone else told me. Tell me something, Elijah. Did you leave the werewolves out because of me?

Elijah: " I excluded them because they no longer reside in the french quarter. My immediate concern is to end the mounting conflict here. Now I can assure you once this treaty is solidified it will expand to include your people.

Hayley: " And until then, I should tell them what? Sit, stay, roll over? I would prefer that you remove yourself from the process altogether.

Elijah: " Hayley, are you absolutely certain that you shouldn't return to the compound?

Hayley: " You think the baby belongs there? You think that's where she'll be safe?

Elijah: " Is the bayou any better?

Hayley: " The wolves deserve a voice. Give them one. You know it's the right thing to do.

(She leaves)

(At the party)

Elijah: " Would you care to dance?

Hayley: " You outdid yourself. You even got Klaus to come out and play.

Elijah: " Yes. It seems that only a sizable soiree is enough to tear my brother away from his efforts at the easel.

Hayley: " That's never a good sign.

Elijah: " Klaus once told me that his painting was a metaphor for control, for achieving his vision through sheer force of will.

Hayley: " Well, trustfully, I'd be shocked if he didn't have at least a dozen or so of those visions swarming around in that insidious skull of his.

Elijah: " I do hope your daughter inherits her mother's... Everything.

Hayley: " It is weird being back here.

Elijah: " Not unpleasant I hope.

Hayley: " Not entirely.

Elijah: " Are you entirely sure you shouldn't be here with us?

Hayley: " Why, Elijah? Because you don't think it's safe in big, bad wolf country? I'm not gonna sit in a rocking chair and knit booties, or haven't you figured that out yet?

Jackson: " Can I have a minute, Hayley?

Elijah: " You can have it later.

Hayley: " Actually, he can have this dance.

(Hayley accepts dance with Jackson and leaving Elijah annoying)

(At the party there is a confrontation between Oliver and Diego, Elijah stops Oliver threatening its life and Jackson stops Diego holding a dagger pointing his heart, Hayley comes in the stairs)

Hayley: " What's stopping you? Kill him.Go ahead, Elijah. Do it. I mean, it's not like he doesn't deserve to die.

(Everyone is surprised by her speech)

Hayley: " I mean, it was Oliver who handed Rebekah over to the witches so they could torture her, but then again, wasn't it Diego who led a werewolf massacre last month? And the witches cursed the wolves, while the humans stood back and let it all happen, so when you think about it, everyone here deserves to die.

Elijah: " Are approaching a point?

Hayley: " My point, Elijah, is this. If we can't all learn to get along, if our families can't create some sort of community, then what's the point? Kill each other and get it all over with.

(Elijah understood her point and stops his attack on Oliver, Jackson does the same, suggesting that all together will make the peace treaty. Later, each representative signing the treaty with their blood, Elijah and Hayley look at each other while doing so.)

-- Moon Over Bourbon Street

(Hayley is in the bayou with the others wolves and Elijah arrives to invite them to the celebration in honor of the witches)

Jackson: " Your people are uniquely poised to set an example for the rest of the French quarter.

Elijah: " Which is why it's important for the wolves to attend.

Hayley: " Thanks but no thanks?

Jackson: " Let's hear the man out.

Oliver: " The witches are the ones that cursed your pack.

Hayley: " And they've been nothing but crap to me since I first came to town. No. We're not going.

Jackson: " It's a new day in the quarter, Hayley. I agree with Oliver. If we're gonna coexist, we have to play ball. We'll send a representative with a gift.

(Hayley leaves annoying but Elijah stops her with his vampire speed)

Elijah: " That was too easy. Don't trust him. Don't trust any of them.

(He leaves.)

(Hayley arrives at the party and Elijah is receiving the guests)

Elijah: " Strange. I thought you'd be in the company of your colorful friends.

Hayley: " Oh. You asked for a representative for the werewolves, so take me or leave me.

(Elijah smiles and offers his arm, Hayley takes it and they enter to the party.)

(Elijah tries to find Hayley screaming her name, when rekindle the light)

Hayley: " Hey! - Elijah?

Elijah: " Hayley. It's okay. It's all right.

(Elijah helps her up and they then see a message in blood on the wall that says "There will be no peace".)

Elijah to Eve about Hayley: What I want Is for that girl to be happy. Don't tell her I was here.

-- The Big Uneasy

(Hayley is in the bayou with the other wolves, she is talking about the birth of her baby with Eve, then Elijah arrives and Hayley seem to annoyed)

Elijah to Hayley and Eve: "Pardon the interruption. I wonder if I might have a quick word with the conspirators of a supposed uprising.

(They meet in a cabin, and Elijah tries to convince them that do a deal with Klaus is dangerous because he is unreliable.)

Elijah: " You signed a pledge, and you looked me in the eye as you did so.

Hayley: " We don't want a fight, Elijah. We just want a better life.

Elijah: " Allegiance with my brother will guarantee you anything but that.

(At that moment they heard a noise outside and they leave the cabin)

(After the bomb, there are many wounded and Hayley tries to help a man on the ground, Elijah comes where she is)

Elijah: " Hayley.

Hayley: " Elijah.

Elijah: " Wolfsbane.

Hayley: " It must have been in the gas tank. You're the fastest. Take him, anyone else who can't walk in the barn.

(Elijah help to the man, but he is clearly worried about Hayley)

Hayley: "It's ok, Elijah. I'm fine. They need your help.

(Elijah is going to help the wounded man and Hayley leaves)

(Hayley goes looking for Marcel to reclaim to him, she goes in her car and calls Elijah to the phone.)

Elijah: " Hayley.

Hayley: " I have to take care of something. I'll be back as soon as I can.

Elijah: " Where are you?

Hayley: " Elijah, I'm fine. Just take care of the pack while I'm gone, please?

(she hangs up the phone.)

(Hayley returns to the bayou and realizes that Elijah stayed, she approaches him and Elijah is looking at Oliver that is in a reunion with all the wolves.)

Hayley: " You stayed.

(She sees to Oliver)

Hayley: " What's going on? What is he doing?

Elijah: " He's making a move for power in the wake of tragedy. He's not alone. There was another attack after you left.

Hayley: " What?

Elijah: " Your friend Jackson will need your help. They will want vengeance Blood for blood And, unfortunately, in troubled times, people do not look for the best But rather the loudest.

-- An Unblinking Death]

(Across the room, Klaus and Elijah sit and drink at the table)

Klaus: " Seems rather uncivilized, to laugh and dance around the body of a loved one.

Elijah: " [pours himself a drink] Yes, far better to practice your process of grief, Niklaus--denial, rage, and hoarding coffins in basements.

(Hayley joins them at the table and sits down between the two brothers)

Elijah: " I will warn you, Hayley, Niklaus is in a spectacularly foul mood today.

Klaus: " Sod off.

Hayley: " (to Klaus) What's the deal with these moonlight rings? Oliver's trying to set a revolution every five seconds, people are scared, angry, and frankly, I'm tired of stalling.

Klaus: " It's a day of peace, Hayley. Try and enjoy it. And, in the meantime, with all manner of unknown enemies conspiring against our family, you'll move back in with us.

Hayley: " (sarcastic) Awesome! Then, we can do that thing where you lock me in the tower, I escape, there's drama, and then you two both realize I'm very capable of looking after myself.

Klaus: " The rings are in progress. I will live up to my word. We will find and punish whoever launched the attack on the bayou, and you will return to the compound for your own safety! (Hayley sighs and rolls her eyes) But, right now, [he grabs his bottle of scotch] I'm gonna finish this bottle, (opens bottle) and the next, in the hopes of drowning the demon who has chosen today to haunt me. [looks up at the ceiling] Cheers, Mikael. Impeccable, Freudian timing.

((chugs straight from the bottle)

Elijah: " (stunned) Elaborate.

(Hayley looks at Elijah and Klaus in concern)

(Outside, the funeral procession is walking down the street to the sounds of the jazz music being played, behind the priests acting as pallbearers for Father Kieran. Near the end of the parade is Klaus, Elijah, and Hayley, the latter of whom is flushed, and keeps having coughing fits)

Elijah: " You alright? You look--

Hayley: " --A hundred months pregnant and pissed off at the world?

Elijah: " (smiles) I was going to say you look lovely.

(Hayley notices Francesca a couple yards in front of them, who is pretending to wipe tears from her face with a tissue)

Hayley: " Do you think I was the target of those bombings?

Klaus: " Of course you were the target! Were I to wage a war on the wolves, you'd be my first kill! I would string you up, for all your worshippers to see.

(Hayley glares at him)

Elijah: " I believe that was my brother's way of telling you he'd like you to return home with us. (to Klaus) Perhaps try a different approach, Niklaus, with fewer references to murder?

Klaus: " As much as I would hate to throw you over my shoulder, and drag you kicking and screaming to the compound, we both know I will, for the sake of my child.

Hayley: " One bad dream, and suddenly, you want to be a responsible daddy!

(Klaus wraps his arm around Hayley and pulls her close, leaving Elijah standing awkwardly beside them. After talking, Hayley leaves.)

(Hayley watches the party winding down from her balcony as Elijah enters the room behind her)

Hayley: " If I died and someone threw a party, I would be so pissed. [smiles]

Elijah: " [walks closer to her] You almost did. In a thousand years, I can't recall a time I felt so...frightened.

(Hayley says nothing, and Elijah instinctively goes to run away. Hayley turns around to stop him)

Hayley: " Elijah...

(After a moment of hesitation, she kisses him passionately. They break away, both of them keeping their eyes closed. When Hayley finally opens her eyes, Elijah has vanished. She smiles)

-- A Closer Walk With Thee

(Klaus is scaling the rooftops of various buildings in the French Quarter when Elijah calls him from the Abbatoir, with Hayley)

Klaus: " Yes, brother, what is it?

Elijah: " It appears our wolves have gone astray, brother.

Hayley: " (cuts in) They should have been back hours ago.

Elijah: " (interrupts) We need to find them.

(After talking)

KLAUS: I'm closing in on it as we speak. The only person who would be bold enough to snatch my wolf allies is the one who has the most to lose.

Elijah: " [sighs] Marcel.

Hayley: " [scared] No, he'll kill them!

Klaus: " Genevieve assures me that Marcel has procured a cloaking spell. The only witch who will aid Marcel is Davina. I just need to get one last bit of leverage before I pay her a visit.

(Elijah's cell phone rings. He sees Hayley is calling him, and he answers it)

Elijah: " Impeccable timing.

Hayley: " What's going on?

Elijah: " Jackson is fine. He's...a little tied up right now. Can we call you back?

(Klaus sniggers at Elijah's joke, and flips open another crate. Inside are another handful of bombs, with a folded slip of paper on top. Klaus frowns, just as the red blinking light on the bombs turn green)

Klaus: " Oh, that doesn't bode well.

Jackson: " (angry) Are you trying to kill us?

Hayley: " Elijah, tell me what's going on, now!

(then the bomb explodes and Elijah takes Jakson and they escape, Hayley has heard the explosion over the phone, and is terrified.)

(Elijah nods at her and watches as Hayley and Jackson sit down to tend to his wounds)

Klaus: " I'm fine, too, thanks for asking.

Hayley: " What about the stones?

Elijah: " (sighs) Scattered across the bed of the Mississippi, I'd imagine.

(They keep talking about Marcel and the stone)

(Hayley and Jackson are talking. As Jackson is leaving, Elijah approaches them)

Jackson: " (takes a deep breath Seems I owe you yet again.

(Elijah nods in acknowledgement of his thanks)

Elijah: " I understand he risked his life to save his friend. [beat] He's a good man.

Hayley: " Yes, he is. Elijah...there's something that I need to tell you. My family...wanted me...[sighs] I was supposed to be betrothed to Jackson. [Elijah is shocked] I wanted to tell you sooner, I-I just didn't know how, it's this insane custody--

Elijah: " No, no, you don't have to explain it. I understand the need to make sacrifices for one's family.

Hayley: " [waits for him to continue, but he stays silent] Come on, Elijah. For once in your immortal life, can you just not be so noble?

Elijah: " What would you have me do?

Hayley: " I just told you that I'm betrothed, according to some backwater arrangement by people that I never knew. Tell me that you think betrothals are stupid! Tell me that I have a choice--

(Elijah stops her and kisses her passionately. The two kiss for a long moment before he pulls away)

Elijah: " You will always have a choice.

(Genevieve continues to cast the moonlight ring spell in the Mikaelson compound, while Klaus, Hayley, and Elijah watch carefully, Francesca arrives telling them that her people say Marcel is on the move, and he's bringing friends. Klaus tells Elijah to get Hayley to safety and he leaves.)

Elijah: " (walks over to Hayley and grabs her arm) Come with me.

Hayley: " No. Some needs to watch her. [gestures to Genevieve]

Francesca: " (to Elijah) You should help Klaus. My brothers and their security detail won't be much against a vampire army. I'll stay with Hayley.

Hayley: " (nods) Go, Elijah. (walks over to him and looks him in the eye) And don't hold back.

(Elijah reluctantly agrees to this plan, and leaves to help Klaus)

-- The Battle of New Orleans

(After Hayley's death, Klaus and Elijah are in the cemetery. are still walking through the maze illusion in the cemetery, using a stone like a piece of chalk in order to mark the tombs that they pass.)

Elijah: " (snaps) My only focus right now is that child and her safety, do you understand me? [furious] This-- all of this-- this is the world that you created, Niklaus.

Klaus: " Brother--

Elijah: " All of your scheming, the enemies that you have made every single day of your miserable life-- what results did you expect? That your child would be born into a happy life? That the mother would be alive to know her daughter? That we could live and thrive as some- as some sort of family?

Klaus: " That was your fantasy, brother, not mine!

Elijah: " (enraged) NO, brother! This was our hope. This was our family's hope. (tries to catch his breath) And now she is gone. (softer) Do you understand? I let this person in. I let her in! (tries to hold back tears) I don't let people in! You knew this. You've taken her from me! I needed her, and you've broken me.

(Elijah sits down on the stoop of one of the tombs and puts his head in his hands. Klaus quietly sits down next to him and grips his arm in comfort)

Klaus: " You can tell your niece how much you cared for her mother when we save her.

(Elijah looks at him, his chin quivering, as Klaus nods encouragingly)

(Klaus and Elijah are breaking their way through the illusion by destroying the tombs. When they reach a room full of candles, they stop and catch their breath)

Elijah: " (sighs) We've passed through here twice already. We're running out of time. [He punches through a wall in anger and frustration]

Klaus: " Then we move faster. [He marks the wall with a third tally mark]

Hayley: " (calls out from behind them) Or smarter.

(Elijah and Klaus freeze when they heard her voice, and turn to see the source of the sound. Hayley stands in the doorway, dazed and exhausted-looking)

Elijah: " Hayley.

(Elijah and Klaus are shocked to see her. Elijah rushes over to touch her face to make sure she isn't an illusion)

Elijah: " How are you here?

Hayley: " (numb and dazed) I woke up in the church. I felt this hunger... I knew what I needed. I can feel her. She's here. I can feel my baby.

(Elijah looks confused, but Klaus realizes what has happened)

Klaus: " You died with the baby's blood still in your system. (He turns to Elijah) She's in transition.

Elijah: " (horrified) Which means she has to drink the blood of the child if she is to survive.

Klaus: " (horrified) To be reborn a hybrid.

Hayley: " I don't care about me. I'm gonna go find our daughter.

(Hayley leaves, and Elijah and Klaus rush after her)

(Elijah and Klaus are talking about Hope's security and Haykey intervenes)

Hayley: " (stands in the doorway, holding the baby) There's a third option. I grew up in a warzone. My parents thought they could protect me. But, in the end, they were slaughtered, and I spent my childhood alone and unloved. (She looks down at her daughter and smiles at her, while trying to hold back tears) I made a promise, to my baby, and to myself, that she would not grow up like I did. That she would grow up safe, and loved. And yet, here she is, on her first day in this world, with a grandmother who is bent on sacrificing her, (starts to stutter as she cries) and a-a mother, who has to drink the blood of her own baby to survive transitioning into a hybrid. And I'm the one who loves her the most.

(Klaus and Elijah just look at her, saddened)

Hayley: " I think the only thing to do is... send her away, while we stay behind and clean up the mess that we've made.

Elijah: " No! This is insane. You heard Genevieve-- so long as she lives, that baby will be hunted.

Klaus: " [stands up and joins Hayley and the baby] Not if no one knows she lives.

Elijah: " [confused] What is it you intend to do, brother?

Klaus: " Whatever it takes to save our family.
