All's Well That Ends Well is the tenth episode of the third season of Legacies and the forty-second episode of the series overall.

Summary[]

IMPENDING DOOM — After capturing a new monster at the school, Hope and the Super Squad learn some terrifying news about one of their own. A surprise visit from Lizzie gives Josie some much-needed courage. MG and Ethan team up to help others. Alaric, Landon and Jed also appear.[2]

Plot[]

In the town centre, MG and Ethan hang out, having made friends and bonded over the fact that MG is a vampire. The two watch as two armed men arrive at a gas station they are hanging out at. Ethan watches as MG disarms the men as they are about to steal from the store and compels them to turn themselves into the cops.

At the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted, Hope awakens feeling refreshed, thanks to Landon's return. She tells Landon that he is helping Alaric for the day whilst she and Cleo spend some quality time together; a notion that Cleo believes to be odd but goes along with nonetheless.

Meanwhile, Lizzie visits Josie at Mystic Falls High School to hand her something she left at home. After a short talk with Dorian, Lizzie tries to leave but is forced to make herself invisible when she nearly bumps into MG. Afterwards, Lizzie watches the awkward encounter between Josie and Finch, and tries to intervene in the situation to help Josie. In the classroom, Ethan and MG talk, and Ethan suggests they continue to fight crime within Mystic Falls. MG is reluctant, however, but is quickly convinced by Ethan to continue the fight.

LGC310-042-Banshee

The banshee screams after being trapped.

In the woods of the Salvatore School, Cleo asks Hope what they are doing. Hope explains that there must've been a reason the Gremlin attacked Cleo and not Landon. She suggests that they bring Cleo to an open space and bring down the boundary spell around the school, thereby using Cleo as bait. Shortly, however, Cleo realises that the situation is not hypothetical and Hope has already lowered the boundary spell and put her plan into action. Within moments, a monster appears in the woods and attempts to attack Cleo Sowande, but is trapped by Hope. The creature begins emitting a high-pitched scream as a result of this which forces Cleo to mute the being. Cleo and Hope bring the creature to the gym of the Salvatore School where it is chained up. Alaric examines the creature but is unable to determine what the creature is. After Cleo removes the spell that mutes the creature, it screams, and the Super Squad realise that they are dealing with a banshee.

At Mystic Falls High School, Lizzie tries to teach Josie about her next move with Finch, largely based on romance movies. Josie is reluctant to follow her advice, and Lizzie remarks that she will more than likely never get to go out with Finch if she doesn't grow up and ask. With this, Josie tells Lizzie that she will ask Finch outright the next time she sees her.

LGC310-066-Banshee~Jed~Cleo

The banshee uses Jed as a conduit.

Back at the Salvatore School, Cleo talks with Jed about how she feels knowing Malivore is after her. Jed suddenly has an idea, and tells Cleo that he knows how to make the banshee talk. Cleo and Jed bring their idea to Alaric, which consists of using Jed as a conduit for the banshee's voice, allowing them to hear her without her screams. They cast the spell, and the banshee tells them that she was freed from the darkness in turn for capturing Cleo. She further reveals that if Cleo should stay at the Salvatore School, Landon is the one most likely to die.

Dealing with the banshees words, Hope tries to research further in the library. Cleo talks with her, and Hope tells her that "there's always a loophole" and they will fix the situation. Cleo is reluctant to believe her, however.

After her talk with Lizzie, and determined to act on her feelings, Josie talks with Finch about her feelings. Josie tells her that she likes her and is sorry for everything that happened between her but wants to give things a shot with her. Josie asks Finch if she would like to hang out that night, but Finch remarks that she is busy both then and the following night. Josie leaves saddened by the conversation. Josie tells Lizzie that Finch didn't want to see her, and the two decide that this means she must be seeing someone else. Despite not wanting to use magic, Josie agrees that Lizzie stalk Finch that night.

Hope bursts into the gym to tell Alaric that Cleo has left the Salvatore School, but Alaric is adamant that they unlink the banshee and Jed before the rise of the full moon. Before this, however, Hope asks if Landon is safe now Cleo has left the school. The bansee reveals that it was not her job to capture Cleo, but to drive her from the protection of the Salvatore School. With this, Hope unlinks Jed and sets off to find Cleo using her werewolf abilities.

Back at Mystic Falls High, Lizzie is stalking Finch in the basement of the school whilst invisible. Finch is attempting to chain herself up but is distracted when she senses someone else in the room. She grabs Lizzie by the throat and asks who she is, but Lizzie is too surprised to answer given she now knows Finch is a werewolf. Lizzie tries to help Finch chain herself up but Finch screams for Lizzie to run before she turns. Lizzie hides in one of the classrooms at Mystic Falls High, and is soon accompanied by MG, who has been hanging around the school with Ethan awaiting a new crime to stop. MG realises Lizzie is in danger and sets off to fend off Finch.

MG and Finch come head to head and despite MG's best efforts, he is knocked to the ground by Finch, who pounces on top of him. Finch is knocked unconscious by Ethan, however, who hits her with a large metal pole, saving MG. Later, MG and Ethan talk about being partners instead of Ethan being his sidekick; they question what they will do with Finch now that they are aware of her secret.

Back at the Salvatore Boarding School, Alaric talks with the banshee, remarking that he knows who she was before she became the banshee. The banshee is reluctant to listen, however, and after the boundary spell containing her wears off, she begins to scream. Her screams are halted by Alaric when he tells her that he knows what happens to her son. The banshee is immediately interested and Alaric explains that he is noted in the Doomsday Book and lived a healthy life after being stolen from her. This information is enough to allow the banshee to rest, and she sets Kaelan free. With her final breaths, Kaelan explains to Alaric why Malivore is bent on capturing Cleo. Alaric later reveals to Dorian that Cleo is a muse.

Meanwhile in the woods, Cleo is abducted by the hunter seen stalking her prior. He knocks her out with magical dust, presumably rending her powers useless and ties her up at a nearby tree. She is saved, however, by Hope who arrives moments later in her wolf form. The hunter flees when Hope transforms back into herself and prepares to attack him with his own weapon.

As the night draws to a close, Lizzie arrives back at the Salvatore School to console and comfort Josie. Reluctant to ruin Josie's attempt at a normal life, Lizzie tells Josie that Finch is seeing someone else and their situation is serious. Josie thanks her for saving her heartbreak and the two cuddle.
