Time Capsule Day took place in You Made a Choice to Be Good. It was sponsored the Mystic Falls Historical Society. The capsule has been buried since 1790.

In You Made a Choice to Be Good, Sheriff Matt Donovan announced the excavation of the box. Caroline dug up her own box buried which she, Bonnie and Elena buried when they were 11. Her box contained a letter to her future self, while Bonnie's had a bucket list. Matt also found a mysterious object.
