“ | My family's about to be pulled apart and there's literally nothing I can do about it. I'm supposed to be the big sister that could fix everything... | ” |
— Freya in The Feast of All Sinners
|
Freya Mikaelson (Elder Futhark: ᚠᚱᛖᛃᚨ ᛗᛁᚲᚨᛖᛚᛋᛟᚾ) is a powerful witch. She was introduced as a recurring character in the second season and promoted to a main character on The Originals.
Freya is the firstborn child of Mikael and Esther, the elder sister of Finn, Elijah, Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik, the maternal older half-sister of Klaus. She is the paternal aunt of Klaus and Hayley's daughter, Hope. She is the bereaved mother of her and Mathias' unborn son. Freya is also the wife of Keelin and the mother of their son, Nik.
Esther told Mikael that Freya had died of the plague while he was off hunting, when in fact her aunt Dahlia took her as payment for performing a fertility spell using Dark Magic that would allow Esther to have children. Dahlia allowed Freya to live planning to use her to brand a new form of power which she would absorb from the powerful Freya, casting a spell on her that causes her to hibernate for a hundred years to preserve her youth and to only age for a year upon awakening which is also presumably what Dahlia has done to preserve herself as well. Freya escaped from under Dahlia's wing and fled from her powerful aunt.
Centuries later, desperate to find out more about her family, she traveled to New Orleans in 1914 where she attended a Christmas party thrown by her siblings. Attending as her brother, Kol's date, she was witness to Klaus' cruelty when he staked Kol in front of the entire party. Freya then puts herself in a glass coffin in the Dowager Fauline Cottage where she then repeated her hibernation cycle until awaking December 31, 2012.
Entering a deep sleep that lasted a century, she awoke 100 years later where she discovered that her sister, Rebekah, had been imprisoned in the Asylum in the body of a young witch. Posing as an inmate, she witnessed Rebekah's confrontations with the Kindred and Cassie's betrayal. Using her magic, Freya saved Rebekah from the Kindred and broke the spell on the Asylum, freeing herself and Rebekah.
When Freya reunites with her brother Finn, he informs her of Hope's life, which inspires Freya (who wishes to take revenge against Dahlia for the deaths of her lover and son) to kill Dahlia in protection of her niece. In the end of hard long magical struggle (resulting in the death of both her parents), Freya and her younger siblings finally managed to defeat Dahlia, with Freya's finally winning her younger brothers trusts (especially Niklaus), and moving into their house as Hope's caretaker and an official Mikaelson sibling.
After a few months of peace in the supernatural community in New Orleans, trouble started again with the arrival of Lucien Castle, Klaus' first progeny, and his warnings of war between the sirelines, and so, Freya's enormous magical powers were needed again to protect her family from harm.
After the completion of the prophecy foretelling the downfall of her family, it seemed as though the entire family was going to die. She was poisoned, her brothers bitten by Marcel, and Rebekah hexed. Seeing no other choice in saving her family, Freya used Klaus as an anchor to a spell similar to the one Dahlia had cast on her to keep her breathing for a thousand years. Freya also created a Chambre de Chasse as a way to allow her family to be together whilst waiting for Hayley to find cures for all of them.
Freya is a member of the Mikaelson Family and an unnamed Witch Family.
Early History[]
The Middle Ages, 10th CenturyFreya was born in the late years of the 10th century to a Viking warrior named Mikael and his wife Esther. Her parents had met after her mother was captured during a Viking raid, and fell in love before marrying. Freya was their first born child. Her birth was a result of a deal her mother made with her aunt, Dahlia, who used magic to make the barren Esther able to have children of her own. She was, according to Esther, the apple of Mikael's eye. However, when she was five, Freya was taken by her aunt as part of Esther's deal when Esther was pregnant with Elijah and her life following that is a mystery. Esther claimed that she was the victim of a plague in order to cover up what she and Dahlia had done, which is what caused Mikael and Esther to move from Norway to a village in a "mystical land" far away in the New World, which was later called Mystic Falls. They moved there under the advisement of Esther's dear friend and mentor, a witch named Ayana, who told them that the inhabitants were extremely healthy and had increased strength and speed. These villagers were later revealed to be werewolves. In the modern day, Freya was mentioned by Elijah, when he explained to Elena that his mother and father had seven children, and again by Rebekah, when she told Elena the story about how her family ended up in Mystic Falls. Rebekah explained that their parents had lost a child in Europe to the plague, and that later, Esther, Mikael, and Ayana moved to Mystic Falls, where Mikael and Esther eventually had the rest of their children, excluding Finn and Elijah, who were born in the Old World. It was also said that Freya's death is what made Mikael become so cruel and abusive, as she was his favorite child. In Wheel Inside the Wheel, it was revealed that Freya had not been killed by the plague, but was instead given to Dahlia as payment for reversing Esther's infertility and allowing her to have her children. The payment was stated that Esther was to give Dahlia Freya, the first born child of each of her children, and every subsequent first born child for as long as Esther's line will last. Dahlia used a spell to increase her power, while also binding Freya's power to Dahlia's. Freya lived under Dahlia for many years, ostensibly as a member of her coven, but in reality, Freya was more of a slave. Dahlia poisoned Freya's mind, telling her that her mother did not want her, and that Dahlia was all she had. When Dahlia learned that Esther had turned her children into the first vampires, and thus ended her bloodline, the weight of carrying on Dahlia's plans fell onto Freya, who swore that she would never fall in love, or have a child, in order to spare any child the fate of being Dahlia's. When Dahlia attempted to cast her pseudo-immortality spell on both of them, Freya at first resisted, only to have Dahlia force it on them. For centuries they existed, slumbering for a century while their aging arrested and their power magnified, to then live for a single year. |
Freya met and fell in love with a man named Mathias, and a child was conceived between them. They attempted to escape from Dahlia, however, she easily tracked them down, and placed a death hex on Freya's lover. Depressed and pained, Freya drank from a deadly poison in an attempt to kill both herself and her unborn son, so that they could both be free from Dahlia.
However, much to her horror, she discovered that part of the immortality ritual was a powerful protection spell that prevented them from being killed, however, as the spell was not cast upon Freya's child, he was truly lost, leaving Freya a sobbing mess in Dahlia's arms.
New Orleans[]
In 1914, she befriended Kol and was his "date" during a Christmas party at the Abattoir to get a glimpse of her family. Rebekah, recognizing Freya as the witch that Kol had brought to the party to accompany him, approached her and insisted that she could do better than Kol. Freya told her that it wasn't really a date before Rebekah made to join the rest of the Mikaelsons and Marcel on the staircase for Klaus' speech.
This marked the first time that the two Mikaelson sisters had met in their lives, and Rebekah remained unaware that she had met her older sister until a century later when they both escaped from the witch asylum together. During Klaus' speech, Kol and Freya toasted each other from across the room, but the cheerful and festive night quickly took a dramatic turn when Klaus publicly condemned Kol's treachery and she witnessed Kol getting daggered by Klaus. She later went into the Dowager Fauline Cottage, seeing it as the safest place to be during her century of sleep and because she knew her aunt wouldn't come there.Throughout The Vampire Diaries Series[]
Season Two[]
In Klaus, Freya was referenced by Elijah, as he talked with Elena Gilbert about his family past, telling the human that his mother bore seven children.
Season Three[]
In Ordinary People, Freya was mentioned by Rebekah (although not by name) as she told Elena how her family was turned into the first vampires. She told Elena that her parents have lost a child to the plague, not knowing what really happened to her older sister.
Season Seven[]
In Moonlight on the Bayou, Klaus told Stefan Salvatore that he will take him to a witch to help him - Klaus was talking about Freya.
In I Would for You, Stefan mentioned Freya to Valerie Tulle (a witch-vampire hybrid), telling her that he almost run out of the herbs Freya had given him in A Streetcar Named Desire. The two of them then go to a herb storehouse Freya told him about, where all the herbs witches use are stored, in case something happens to them.
Throughout The Originals Series[]
Freya first appeared as a young child in flashbacks in Wheel Inside the Wheel, when the circumstances regarding her "death" were revealed to be not plague, but by given as a payment to her aunt Dahlia in return for the magic necessarily to allow Esther to have Freya and her siblings in the first place. She was seen being doted on by young Mikael in Norway and was again seen being taken away from her mother and younger brother, Finn, by Dahlia. In The Map of Moments, Freya as a young woman appears in a flashback to 1914 as her brother Kol's date at The Abattoir, where she meets her family, including Rebekah. In Gonna Set Your Flag On Fire, Rebekah, in her new vessel prepared by Kol, was trapped within the witch Asylum when Freya's astral projection first appeared. Freya guided Rebekah to her slumbering body, which was encased in a glass coffin. Also, she communicated with Rebekah via word tiles when she attempted to use magic to contact her family, asking Rebekah who she was, and later, telling Rebekah her name. In Sanctuary, Freya leaves her room and stands over Rebekah while she sleeps. She manipulates Rebekah's dreams so that she experiences visions of when Dahlia took her. She is seen masquerading as a recent arrival at the Asylum who Rebekah talks to. She is seen watching cartoons for the first time and she greatly enjoys them. Rebekah then gives her an apple she had stolen and she accepts the offer. Later, the Kindred attack her for stealing the apple and Rebekah defends her but is punished by the Kindred. Later, Rebekah goes to her room to find one of the Kindred dead and Cassie in league with them. As they plan to beat Rebekah up, Freya arrives and uses her magic to easily dispatch the Kindred. She then turns to Cassie and kills her for her betrayal of Rebekah, citing that she hates traitors. She then uses her magic to break the spell sealing them in the cottage. Before leaving, she tells Rebekah that they are sisters and had met in 1914 when Kol was daggered but that she ended up imprisoned in the cottage because of her association with him. She then tells Rebekah that she will soon visit their brothers and expects their best behavior before leaving. In The Devil is Damned, Freya easily locates Finn and after they reunite, explains that after Dahlia took her from Esther, Freya was allowed to live and Dahlia taught her magic, eventually a spell that would allow her to hibernate for a century before awakening for simply one year of aging, thus preserving them. Freya also reveals that Dahlia has a grudge against Freya for her escape and as a consequence, Freya has been running and hiding from her aunt for a thousand years. Freya (knowing the deal between her mother and Dahlia) shares the same motive to kill her niece, Hope, in hopes of preventing the renaissance of her aunt Dahlia. Freya easily locates Hope at the safe house and Finn goes there. Upon his arrival there, Finn is killed by Elijah after a short battle. In I Love You, Goodbye, Freya had given her pendant to Finn before his confrontation with Elijah. After Finn's death, via his vessel, she finds his body in the morgue and, using the power of the pendant, brings heals his body and returns his soul back to the vessel. She then tells him that Dahlia will be coming when she senses Hope doing magic, which was how she had known the time had come to take Freya. In They All Asked For You, Freya is first seen when Finn expresses his intentions to return to the tomb where Mikael is still being kept, so that he could once again begin channeling their father to regain the powers he was forced to relinquish. Freya takes the opportunity to request that Finn allow her to take a few minutes with their father and Finn tries to sway her against this, telling her that their father is no longer the man she remembered from when she was five years old. Despite this, he eventually relents and takes Freya to Mikael and when Finn asks if she also wants some time with their mother Freya coldly tells Finn that Esther is nothing to her and to let her rot, Finn leaves Freya and Mikael alone as he takes Esther's body elsewhere. Freya proceeds to revive her father with a spell and a drop of her blood, and he immediately attacks her after awakening. When she reveals her identity, Mikael is very wary of Freya, considering this to be a trick and foul play, but as Freya begins to recount memories from her childhood that only the two of them shared, Mikael is overwhelmed with emotion as he comes to believe her. Near tears, he then embraces his daughter saying, "My beautiful Freya. My daughter," happy to be reunited with her. They are then seen to be working together when a werewolf comes to the cemetery. Mikael - still famished - killed the first wolf but Freya called him off before he would kill Aiden, sending her father off to procure items needed to defeat Dahlia. Later in the Lafayette Cemetery, Freya appeared after Klaus had mortally injured Finn's vessel Vincent Griffith. Freya heals Vincent's wound and Finn is shortly afterward removed from Vincent's body and into Freya's talisman where she claims he would be safe and would do no harm to Hope. Freya later meets her brothers Klaus and Elijah for the first time in centuries. However, it doesn't go to plan. Their confrontation turns into a fight and Freya had the upper hand. In Save My Soul, Freya is invited to some kind of a dinner party with her three younger siblings. Klaus, suspicious of his long-lost older sister true motives doubting her at every turn, while Elijah and Rebekah warming up to her. Freya tells her story to her younger brothers: how she was used by their aunt for her magic, how dangerous and vindictive Dahlia can be, and how she turned them both into some kind of immortal witches: by sleeping for a century, and waking up to only one year of life. In the middle of the conversion, Rebekah loses control of Eva Sinclair's body, as her spirit break through. Freya tries to help, but Klaus, unwilling to trust her, break her neck, and take her back to the attic. There, Freya tells her younger brother that she almost had a son, but was forced to kill him - not wanting her child to grow up as she did; as a slave. Klaus, who seems as her story touched him, closes his heart on his older sister. Freya than challenges him; saying that Elijah and Rebekah trust her and that she is not going anywhere - and without her, he has no chance in defeating Dahlia. In Exquisite Corpse, Freya is dragged by her brother to meet her mother for the first time in 1,000 years in order to get Esther's help in getting rid of Eva and getting Rebekah back. Esther gives them a spell that will allow them to enter Eva's mind in order to find Rebekah and kill Eva so that Eva's body will be a hollow shell for Rebekah to inhabit. However, Freya claims that she cannot do the spell because it requires an anchor and since she is forever running, she doesn't have one. She quickly suggests that she will use Klaus as an anchor for the spell which Klaus quickly denies due to the fact that she will also be entering Klaus' mind as well as Eva's. Esther tells Klaus that this is what she wanted all along, for her to enter his mind and find out all of his weaknesses and exploit them. Later Elijah pulls Freya out of there and volunteers for himself to be the anchor instead of Klaus because nothing is worth losing Rebekah. During the spell, Vincent asks how will they deal with Eva whilst there in her mind which Freya holds up a knife and casts a spell on it and stabs Vincent with it so that when he enters Eva's mind he will take the dagger with him. After the spell has begun, Freya realizes how much power is needed to maintain and that if Elijah lets go they will be lost forever. Klaus turns up and helps Elijah hold Freya granting her permission to enter his mind. At the end of the episode, Freya is seen walking in Lafayette Cemetery towards her mother, talking about that Klaus should never of let her go inside his mind because now she knows they can never be allies, that Klaus will never trust her and that she will turn her family against him. Esther responds with I was right about you. The episode ends with Freya killing Esther by metamorphosis into starlings which instantly died. In Night Has A Thousand Eyes, Freya is called when Dahlia uses powerful dark magic, Keening, to infiltrate and control Jackson's mind. She brews a potion to prevent her siblings from being overtaken and wasted no time in trying to find Dahlia. She and Rebekah, in her witch vessel, perform a spell with Jackson's assistance as she would be able to trace Dahlia's signature back to the source of her power. However, unknown to her, she was the "source" of Dahlia's power because of the connective magic she performed on her as a child. Upon this realization, Rebekah lashed out and she was hurt upon being rejected by her sister as Dahlia has been drawing on her magic this whole time. She met Dahlia again and her emotional guard was reduced to nothingness as Dahlia mocked Freya's efforts to reconnect with her family and threatened to wipe them all out until Freya would have no one but Dahlia to run to. Freya ran back into the Abattoir to warn her family of Dahlia's plans, explaining that she understood the mistrust her family has of her and she doesn't want her father and half-brother to be hurt by Dahlia. Freya stood up to Dahlia when she came to St. Anne's Church with Elijah but her aunt made short work of her. However, she was saved when her father intervened. Unfortunately, Dahlia got a hold of the weapon meant to kill her and destroyed it before their eyes, with Freya screaming in defeat. She then listened as Dahlia promised to spare their lives so long as Hope is given to her. Upon returning to the Abattoir, Freya scolded Klaus for making the mistake of attacking Dahlia head-on with only one weapon at their disposal. However, her disapproval became utter anguish as Klaus partially drove the White Oak Stake into Mikael's chest and threatened Freya to not use magic if she wanted her father alive. Held back by Elijah, Freya cried out in horror as her father died by Klaus' hands, but not without apologizing to her and telling her that he loves her. Klaus nonchalantly reasoned that Mikael's ashes could be used to make another weapon and left them in the courtyard. Freya tried to run after him but Elijah held her back as she mourned Mikael's death. In When the Levee Breaks, Freya is mourning Mikael in the cemetery. Although unhappy with him, Rebekah still defends Klaus to Freya despite Mikael's murder. Freya does not understand why Rebekah remains so loyal to Klaus, and subsequently demands that Rebekah choose between the two of them, Elijah later visits Freya and gives her a knife belonging to Mikael, she gives her brother the same demand, at the end of the episode after Klaus has been daggered Freya is the last thing Klaus sees before falling on the ground neutralized. In City Beneath The Sea, Freya and Elijah are working together; trying to defeat Dahlia without Klaus' help. Freya wants to use Hope as a bait, but Elijah and Rebekah both refuse. As such - they offer an alternative: to use a golem - a puppet to mimic Hope's magic power, by using Hope's blood. Freya agrees, but Elijah, who had grown wary of her because of suggestion, injects Hope's blood into Freya, making her the bait instead. Freya is displeased with this mistrusts but has no choice but to cooperate with the new plan. In Fire with Fire, Freya who is still brooding from Elijah's misgivings earlier, try to find Klaus and make a golem puppet to lure Dahlia and Klaus into a trap. Rebekah asks her sister why she stayed with them and Freya said that she was looking for them her whole life, and its always better to have a family. Their plan fails, however, when Dahlia discovers the trick, and along with Klaus, beat Freya, Elijah, Marcel, and Rebekah. After that, Dahlia takes unconscious Freya with her and Klaus. In Ashes to Ashes, Klaus convinces Dahlia to link herself to him so that she could break her slumber. However, once they are linked, Klaus daggers himself, neutralizing both himself and Dahlia. Freya awakens in the back of their ride with Hope at her side. She calls Rebekah and Elijah comes to them, telling her that Klaus' actions were a result of his discovery that her blood wouldn't have worked to kill Dahlia: she didn't break her heart, Esther did. The Mikaelsons hijack Davina's spell to resurrect Kol, resurrecting Esther instead. Freya planned to end Dahlia herself by staking Klaus while they were still linked. However, Dahlia's magic was powerful enough to destroy the dagger and the link while she was still neutralized. Upon awakening, she takes both Freya and the White Oak Stake. Taking her to where people were once executed in New Orleans, Dahlia planned to kill Freya but her siblings arrive with Esther to stop her and save their sister. Dahlia disintegrates the stake into ash and uses it to kill Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah simultaneously. Esther saves her children by neutralizing her sister's magic with the cursed shackles, allowing Freya to break Dahlia's protection spell and Klaus to kill both Esther and Dahlia. Finally free, Freya is accepted by her family, including Klaus, who asks her to help raise Hope, which she accepts. She also heals Eva's body, allowing Rebekah to return to it for her chance at a normal life. |
In For the Next Millennium, Freya is writing a letter to Rebekah, informing her of the situation within the family. She also asks Rebekah for advice, as she doesn't know how to heal Elijah and Klaus' fractured bond, seeing her relationship with her brothers is shown to be extremely improved. Later on, Elijah told Freya she deserved a night off, thus she should go out and have some fun. Afterward, Elijah calls Freya to babysit Hope, while Freya is seen dancing at Rousseau's. The latter gladly comes to watch over her niece as Elijah goes to look for Hayley, who is missing at the time. In You Hung the Moon, the elder Mikaelson is dancing, with a guy, in the club, while Marcel offers her a drink and informs her it is almost midnight because his vampires feed at midnight. She unwillingly leaves with an unknown guy she was dancing with. Freya comes to the compound intending to kiss the guy she brought home but is interrupted by Klaus, who needs his sister to perform a locator spell on Hayley, who is still missing. Freya claims Klaus is worried about Hayley and states she needs Hope to perform the spell, as the closest thing to Hayley is needed. After she fails to do the spell, due to Davina's cloaking spell, she holds Hope in order for Klaus to chain Jackson to the wall, due to Jackson turning into a wolf. After Klaus and Hayley's confrontation, Elijah asks Freya to confirm a prophecy involving her family. She, with certain difficulties, does so. In A Walk on the Wild Side, Freya goes unnoticed at the Strix's party at the Davilla Estate while Klaus and his progeny provide a distraction to give Freya a chance to find Alexis and bring her to Lucien. She realizes the task won't be so easy as she expected it to be. Alexis had already seen Freya coming for her and had cast an Aphasia Spell on the Mikaelson witch. The Seer quickly figures out Freya is a Mikaelson, thus sees another prophecy involving the latter being buried alive because of her siblings. Freya uses a sign of force and puts Alexis unconscious by punching her in the face. Lucien, Klaus, and Freya bring the prophetic witch to the compound as they witness Alexis claiming she saw Klaus die. She intends to show them this prophecy, but she suddenly vomits blood and dies. It was later seen Aurora put poison in her drink. In Beautiful Mistake, Freya, along with Elijah, does everything in her power to save Rebekah, after realizing the latter is the target of the Strix's latest plan. She gladly interrupts the fight between Rebekah and The Strix, snapping necks to all the members of the vampire organization surrounding them, at the same time. Afterward, the sisters go together to meet a witch who has the spell that would bring back their brother, Kol. It turns out the Moroccan witch is with The Strix, and while Freya tries to save Rebekah, by using her magic, it seems she cannot cast any spells due to a spell cast by the enemy witch. The Moroccan witch telekinetically pushes Freya and immediately puts her unconscious, while Aya stabs Rebekah with an unknown dagger, thus neutralizes the Original Vampire. In Out of the Easy, The Mikaelson siblings host a Thanksgiving party in order to take down their progenies, after learning Rebekah's whereabouts. Although it doesn't all go as planned, Freya, Elijah, and Klaus still manage to capture Lucien, Tristan, and Aurora, with the intention of interrogating them. The siblings find out Rebekah has been dropped in the ocean. Freya and Hayley torture Aurora, who is not as an easy target as they thought. Aurora informs them she has the latitude of Rebekah's location, while Tristan has the longitude. In The Other Girl in New Orleans, Freya and Elijah torture Tristan in order to take the latitude of Rebekah's location. Freya casts a boundary spell on Tristan, allowing Elijah and herself to enter a circle of salt, while Tristan cannot leave. She also takes the liberty of injecting him with mugwort and hibiscus, as these plants counteract the vervain in a vampire's system. This proves to be of no use because Tristan shows he is still immune to mind compulsion. The Strix come for Tristan, and Aya stabs Freya, due to the latter being the only one in the room, guarding Tristan. Marcel later heals Freya by giving her his blood, but Tristan and Aya are long gone, at the time. In Savior, Freya meets with a witch who created a mystical dark object, the Serratura, in the hope, she would disable it somehow. However, after she gains possession of the object, she becomes the main target of The Strix, she is attacked by multiple vampires and fails in keeping the Serratura though she was saved by Jackson. Freya also finds out that the only way to get rid of the Serratura is to use it and she would rather it be something else that is locked away than her family. She later finds out the dagger Rebekah has been staked with is cursed, though when she tries to find a way to break the curse, it is revealed that she was poisoned by the Strix. Freya recovers slightly and tells the others what she needs to break the curse. Though she was told by Hayley that she was weak now and can't float and feather much less save the world, Freya replied that she would channel Finn as he was the only other powerful witch there. She fails to break the curse permanently, and Tristan steals her talisman. In A Ghost Along the Mississippi, Freya is seen in tears as she grieves the death of Jackson. She is shaken so much that she refuses to look at his extracted heart. She later created a boundary spell for Klaus that he used on Cami. Freya and Vincent are seen enacting the rest of the former's plan. She and her half-brother find Aurora missing at home and come to the conclusion Lucien took her. In Heart Shaped Box, Freya witnesses Klaus as he hangs the New Orleans Chief of Police from the second floor of the Abattoir out of frustration as Aurora hasn't been found. She jokes rather morbidly, asking if this was another normal Mikaelson breakfast. Freya then asked Klaus if all this torture was necessary. She leaped to defend Klaus when Marcel accused him, laying to blame Cami's behavior and the betrayal of one of his Strix Witches. However, Freya had to deal with Klaus' disparaging words as he responded to her help by stating that he is quite capable of defending himself, but what he cannot do is perform a locator spell to find Aurora, finishing by saying that in the regards of incapability, they were both alike. Freya replied in kind stating that she has yet to locate Aurora herself as she is well cloaked, even with her non-stop efforts every day. Klaus again pointed out her failings when he told her that she had stopped now and that she must go on her way to doing the spell. Freya, though hurt by his harsh and brazen treatment of her, responded by asking Klaus if he treated their other sister like this to which he had no reply. Satisfied, she left, with Elijah sadly calling out to her but she ignored him. Freya is then seen getting ready to perform the locator spell, her failed attempts clearly visible in the room. She groused that maybe the nine thousandth time might be the charm. She thought that the spell had failed again, but she was wrong and seemed worried when she realized the location the spell pointed out. She jumped in shock as Aurora asked if Freya was looking for her, Freya is then seen gathering her courage to face her enemy. Even though Freya put up a good fight, Aurora had managed to take her. Freya woke to find Aurora waiting for her, and she immediately tried to retaliate but found that she was unable to cast spells, and that trying to do so caused her immense pain. Aurora had given Freya a drug, made by Tristan for her own episodes, that caused her to be unable to focus, as witches need clarity of mind to cast a spell. Freya states that her brothers will come for her and Aurora states that she was counting on it, though she wondered how long they would take as Freya may die. Aurora took out a gun and shot Freya who stood fearlessly. Freya wakes to find herself in a coffin, after using her necklace to light the area. She is in considerable pain and notices that she is bleeding slowly. She asks Finn for his help, as she is still unable to cast spells due to her drug in her system and blood loss. Niklaus tries to look for Freya despite the puzzles Aurora prepared for him but it was Finn who intervened to help Klaus locate this older sister. Both Niklaus and Freya arrive to come to Elijah's aid. As Klaus and Elijah talk to Aurora, Freya supports herself against the doorframe and watches the confrontation. As Aurora decides to shoot Elijah to the brothers' dismay, Freya managed to use telekinesis to cause Aurora to miss, saving her brother, though the risk caused her to collapse. She was left in Elijah's care as Klaus went after Aurora. Freya is later seen at home, safe and sound. She goes to Klaus, asking him if he was practicing his torture techniques as he was carving a new wooden knight for Hope. When he explains she smiles, stating that he is full of surprises. Klaus realized why she was there, stating that she was surprised that he came for her. He explained to her that she is his sister and that she is a part of this family, "always and forever" with Elijah entering to express his wholehearted agreement. Freya goes right to business, asking them both what was their next plan of action as Aurora has the white oak and she won't stay quiet. They all toasted as Klaus states that seeing that their family has no shortage of enemies, they should kill them all. The three then share a toast to the deaths of their enemies. In A Streetcar Named Desire, Freya hears from Elijah that he daggered Rebekah to keep her from going on another murderous rampage and to embrace the prophecy, something that is met with nothing but indignation from the Mikaelson witch. She goes on to tell him that the prophecy said that they would fall by friend, foe, and family; as Rebekah had fallen by family that leaves friend and foe. Freya tells Elijah that he and Klaus have many enemies, Elijah corrects her by saying they just have one or two, and Freya finishes by saying that thankfully they do not have that many friends. Freya then meets Stefan Salvatore for the first time, after restating what Klaus had said in fewer words, and Stefan replies, Freya's countenance darkens and she welcomes him with distrust, as he could possibly be a friend that would take her brothers down. Nevertheless, she created a paste that masked his presence from Rayna Cruz, the huntress that continues to pursue him, then sent him off sweetly causing Stefan to ask why everyone wants him to leave. Freya explains the Mikaelson's current situation to Stefan. Once Freya's brothers were taken by the Strix, she enters the fray between Marcel, Lucien, and Stefan with Hayley by her side, as she had formulated a plan that will get her brothers out of the Chambre de Chasse. She needs a strong power source but seeing that Finn would rather have their siblings die, then Freya decides to channel Lucien as the older the vampire is, the stronger the battery. Lucien, however, begins to object, stating that while Marcel, Hayley, and Stefan go to take out the Strix, Hayley wants him to stay with the leftover sister' Freya. Freya takes offense to his labeling and snaps his neck with a hand gesture, which greatly impresses Stefan, leaving Freya to say that she works better with quiet. Freya is then seen preparing for her spell as she secures the ropes that bound Lucien to his chair. Lucien wakes and asks Freya if she really had to tie him up, to which she tells them that she needs him not to move as the spell will hurt. Lucien states that Freya is a dark one, and morbidly flirts with her, which Freya responds to stating that he would have to survive the spell first and that since her brothers are trapped in something a representational mental prison, she would break them out from the inside. However, she tells him that the spell would take most of her power and probably all of his. Lucien remarks to her information by saying that his stamina was never an issue and that she should go ahead, as he would be eagerly awaiting her return. Freya manages to infiltrate the Chambre and tells her brothers to find what represents them, but she stares on in shock as she realizes that the desiring spell was starting. She tells them to focus so she can break them out, Klaus tells her the Kings, and Elijah tells her the Knights, but Freya tells them that they have to be sure. After Aurora berates them, Klaus tells Freya to take the Queens as they represent the women they betrayed, and she succeeds in breaking them out. As she arrives back at home, she watches on as Davina breaks the link. She is later seen at the cemetery with Klaus after he finishes sealing Aurora in a crypt with her responsible for casting the boundary spell that kept Aurora from leaving her prison. She comforts him and tells him that the weakness he was feeling should pass after a good night's rest, as he hemorrhaged a massive amount of mystical energy, enough to create a Nexus Vorti. In An Old Friend Calls, Freya bears witness to one of Klaus' dramatic episodes of paranoia as he gathers the letters that Klaus' victims wrote to their loved ones and finds herself reunited with Kol, the first of her siblings that she encountered long ago. Freya accuses Davina of stealing the Nexus Vorti, looking at both Davina and Kol standing together. She calmly looks on at her brother, introducing herself by name only which Kol picks up immediately. She was visibly troubled when Kol asked where Rebekah was. Freya sat diligently as she carried out Kol's instructions for his spell, and when he told her to say it with feeling, Freya laughed slightly as she looked up at him. After she finishes the spell, she joked to Klaus saying "Behold your greatest hits, Klaus…", finishing by telling him that only one of the said enemies were here in New Orleans. Freya is seen stating more to herself than anyone else that their problems never stop, as she watches Klaus enemies converge upon New Orleans. She seems sad when she realizes that Klaus is gonna 'disappear'. Freya is seen happily praising her younger brother Kol as he goes over the spell with her, but he states that they both knew there was no Witchcraft on this planet that he hasn't studied, making Freya laugh. Kol goes on to recall the first time they met a century ago, stating that he thought she was gay as he couldn't charm her into doing what he wanted. Freya laughs, not minding his statement, but asking if that's the only reason why women wouldn't swoon for him. She tells him that she was glad he was back and that Rebekah kept her promise and kept on fighting for him before the curse. She goes on to tell him that they were all lucky that Davina didn't give up on him, letting him realize that he should do right by Davina as well and happily permits Kol to leave and be with his love. Freya is present when Klaus gets ready to leave with Hayley and Hope, and sees him off with a kiss and promises to keep Elijah in line. She, however, looks sadden that he had to leave, stating to an equally sadden Elijah that it was going to be quiet around the compound from now on. In Alone with Everybody, Freya is seen bashing wits with Lucien as he arrives at the compound. She allows the Strix guards to let him in stating he was a 'necessary acquaintance'. She smiles as he brandishes a bouquet asking her if she hadn't felt the spark between them, but she told him it wasn't a good time. Freya told her brothers, Elijah and Kol, that Finn was not the one spreading rumors about white oak. Freya tells them that he is innocent, and that Finn is family, and that his return was a chance to mend what's broken between them. Freya is again seen standing as a mediator between Kol and Finn, as Kol was trying to attack his older brother, physically blocking Kol from Finn. Freya is seen talking to Finn, telling him that their siblings' treatment of him was as well as can be expected given his past in regards to them. Freya told him that he promised her that things would be different this time around to which Finn told her that they already were with her there. However, Finn tells her that she mistook what he meant, shocking and hurting Freya when he states that would rather die than be a part of their wretched family again. Though hurt, she reluctantly left so that Elijah and Finn could talk. Freya is again seen trying to reason with Kol as he fought Finn. She was pained to hear Kol's statement and sought Elijah's intervention to stop his departure, though she remained when he told her that Kol would be safe. Freya was happy to create the means of destroying the last of the white oak when Elijah asked it of her but watched on in horror as Finn threw himself into the flames to save the bullet. Freya listened as Finn explained why they couldn't destroy the white oak, and willingly volunteered to hide the white oak by Lucien's initiative. She told them she could cloak herself and take the white oak far away, and 'bury it under a thousand spells'. The decision was clearly difficult, and she said that it would stay hidden until the time comes when they decide that they are ready to die. Entrusted with the White Oak Bullet by her family. Freya is kidnapped by Lucien, via Vincent and the Ancestors. In Behind the Black Horizon, Freya is taken to Mystic Falls with Vincent by Lucien, who used her blood as a conduit for an updated version of the same spell that created her siblings. She watched as Vincent cast the spell and Lucien indignantly spoke of how her siblings wronged him and his plans to become what he really is: their betters. Freya is then put at serious risk as Lucien was poised to kill her as Elijah, Finn, and Matt arrived. However, Finn shot her sister in the chest so the bullets will pass through to Lucien, thereby killing him as well. Her brothers swiftly came to her aid but she tells them that they inadvertently helped Lucien complete his task. Freya then came to her brother's aid, casting a barrier spell that not even Lucien could penetrate. Freya stayed by her brother's side as she dejectedly attempts to save him. Freya slaps her brother, Kol, for being flippant as his brother dies, only to be relieved at the arrival of Klaus, the only one who could save Finn. However, Klaus' blood was unable to heal Finn and the latter ends up expiring but with his family by his side. Freya is present with her brothers as they released Finn's ashes on a bridge over a river, thanking him for being her first friend and for giving her her life and her brothers united, even for a moment. She expresses her love to him, always and forever. She is then seen grieving in the study with Klaus and Elijah close by only to hear Hayley speak of what she and Klaus learned about the potency of Lucien's strength and wonders aloud why Lucien got another bottle's worth of serum. In The Devil Comes Here and Sighs, Freya is seen drawing something that will harm Lucien. She tells Klaus that he is hovering, though when he tells her that he would bring Vincent to hasten the process, she tells him that Vincent, like her, doesn't know how to kill Lucien. Freya then adds that if Vincent leaves the St. James they don't know what the Ancestors might make him do. She tells Elijah that she is working on way to take care of Lucien. As Elijah tells Freya that they were out of time, she explains that a sigil is a complicated magically symbol, weaponized and condensed into its most potent form and that if she succeeds they would have a better chance at stopping Lucien, but should she fail... She invites Cami into the compound as Cami tells them that Klaus was kidnapped. Freya is later seen using the sigil against Lucien. She walks in, telling him the obvious, and telling him that that is what she was aiming for. She then explains to him that her sigil would bind and weaken him, pointing out that she added the boiling blood herself. Freya tells him that maybe she can't kill him, but she can certainly make him wish he was dead. When Lucien asks her if this attempt was revenge for what he did to Finn, Freya retorted angrily by giving him an aneurysm, which he praised her for because of its potency. Freya told him that she had a whole variety of tricks, and remained undeterred as she announces the arrival of the Strix. Freya then watches on in slight shock as she realizes that the Ancestors were the ones who had been helping Lucien overcome the sigil, and finally helped him escape. As Lucien finishes overpowering Elijah and the Strix, Freya goes on the offensive again by causing a spell to rip out Lucien's heart. Though it was working, the Ancestors struggled against her, making Freya visibly weaken as they broke the spell. Elijah and Freya escaped with their lives, much to Lucien's anger. Freya is later seen threatening Klaus by asking if he wanted the chains back on, to which Elijah added a suggestion, making Freya smile. As Hayley asks how they were gonna keep Aurora incapacitated, Freya stated that her spell should keep her down long enough to use the serum in her blood to figure out a way to kill both her and Lucien. Freya tells Klaus that he's welcome as he says that he was looking forward to that. In No More Heartbreaks, Freya is seen giving Cami a healing salve that is over a thousand of years old, to at least ease the pain of Cami's illness as she has no cure for Lucien's bite. She is also willing to try testing Hope's blood to save Cami. Freya is seen giving Klaus a tonic, still trying to help Cami or at least alleviate her symptoms. She asks Klaus if he cares about her after he comments that his talents are not for nursing, which she tells him to figure out after his silence. She is later seen taking Lucien's blood anxiously from Vincent, hoping that it would work. She expectantly watches as Cami drinks but seems to realize that it wouldn't be the cure they were looking for. Freya watches Klaus silently and worried as he telepathically talks with Cami. She then goes to deliver the bad news that Cami isn't getting better only worse, to Marcel and Vincent. As they ponder solutions, she painfully comes to the conclusion that the effects of Lucien's bite may be incurable. When Vincent tells her he's not giving up, Freya quickly tells him that neither is she, showing her capacity to care for those, not of her blood. She looks hopeful as her niece is brought to see if she is the solution to the bite. Freya is seen injecting Hope's blood into Cami but tells Elijah that she has tried everything she knows, including the power that resides in Hope's blood and that infection has spread everywhere. She sadly tells him that there is nothing else they can do but ease Cami's pain, but she wouldn't last much longer. Freya is seen wiping Cami down as Vincent comes in desperate, telling her to channel him and cast a healing spell. Though she tells him it won't stop the inevitable, causing Vincent to tell her to put Cami's soul in her pendant like she did Finn, but again she tells him unfortunately that it wouldn't work. Though Freya does tell him that they could transfer Cami's soul into another body but Vincent says Cami would never agree to that. Freya shows even more consideration and willingness telling him that they can just worry about that later, considering taking Cami's choice in the matter so that she may still live. Elijah stopped her, however, helping her realize and remember that they cannot rob her of the dignity of that choice, and that since Cami lived with grace, she would have it now as well. Freya is seen grieving the loss of Cami as they all sat in silence when Davina arrived. She is seen drinking to mask her pain, causing Elijah to intervene telling her that this isn't over to which Freya replies in a depressing manner. He goes on to tell her that there is still work to be done, and both of them agree that there is no rest for the wicked and that Lucien should go down. She asks about her brother Klaus, worried about him as he is the one that will suffer the loss of Cami the most, to which Elijah replies by handing over her glass and saying that this isn't over. Freya is seen later, talking to Vincent, both of them laying blame on themselves for making Lucien into what he was, but she however sternly goes on to say that now that they had his blood, they would find a way to "unmake" him. She is last seen feeling the aftershocks and gusts of the Ancestors' magic. In Where Nothing Stays Buried, at the Abattoir, Freya is seen informing Vincent about the spell she found that could help them stop Lucien; while Vincent tells her his plan to prevent Aurora becoming an Enhanced Original like Lucien. Vincent tells Freya that her plan would not work, as he wasn't the one who cast the spell, it was the Ancestors' power that made Lucien what he was and they would need their power as he was no longer Regent. Freya is seen clearly upset and troubled by this news, though she does not stop her musings. Elijah enters asking her what's wrong, only to pause as Freya quickly tells him she needs his hair to create an early warning system so she could know if any New Orleans witch tries to interfere with them (her siblings). Though he complied, he showed his concern by reminding her of what they had said about "no rest for the wicked", but Freya quickly cuts him off testily, informing him that she is up against centuries of undead witches whose power was now apparently strong enough shake the entire city and that she would not rest, until she sends them to hell; showing her determination to protect her family against all odds. Freya is seen helping Kol, Marcel and Vincent protects Davina from the Ancestors while they figure out a way to bring her back. She tells them that she can draw Davina's spirit to a protective circle to keep the Ancestors from her, but she would have to channel an Original to sustain the spell. Even though Kol selflessly volunteers Freya refuses as he is already marred by the Ancestors' magic, so it should be either Klaus or Elijah, to which the latter agrees. Though before the spell could be done, Freya's early warning system goes off, which shows that some New Orleans witch is trying to harm them. Klaus thinks it's him, but when Rebekah's portrait goes aflame, Freya realizes it is their sister that is in danger. Freya tells her brothers that though she cloaked all of them if Lucien wants to find them, as he is working with the Ancestors, it may take a while but he will. Klaus wants to go help, but Freya and Elijah tell him that it is dangerous, though he goes after telling them to help Kol so he doesn't feel the pain he went through. Freya is seen ready to do the spell, though Kol tells her that he needs this to work, Freya reassures him that 'eleventh-hour spells' are her specialty. She tells Marcel to tell Vincent to start the consecration and begins her spell. The spell is powerful and takes a while to take effect, seeing the strain Elijah is feeling and Freya's exertion. Though Freya's power manages to win against the Ancestors and draws Davina to safety. Freya and Elijah watch as Kol and Davina reunites. Freya tells Elijah that she knows a way to stop Lucien and that as long as Davina is caught between both worlds she could channel the Ancestors power through her. Freya looks troubled and nervous though as she pauses, causing Elijah to ask her what the problem was. She tells him that everything has a price. In order to get the Ancestors' power, she would have to steal it while Davina was in the Ancestral well, which means that she would have to break Davina's protection. Elijah tells her that it is dangerous, that they will destroy her and that they can't do that, she agrees but her desperation is evident as she asks him what they were going to do. Freya is seen visibly troubled and torn. She struggles to figure out a way to stop Lucien without harming Davina. Elijah tells Freya that Lucien knows where Rebekah was and that they are out of time. Freya tells Elijah that the only way to stop Lucien would be to use Davina, and they decide to take the risk. Freya comes in casting her spell but as Marcel tries to stop her Elijah restrains him. Freya enters the circle and she and Davina are transported to the Ancestral plane. Davina pleads with Freya to stop as she would break the circle but Freya goes on unhindered, although the pain of what she is doing is clear on her face. Davina pleads with Marcel as she bleeds from her eyes and nose, but Elijah breaks his neck. The power of the Ancestors begin to pool into Davina as Freya increases her efforts and then she absorbs the power, but the result causes the spell to be broken along with the circle and Davina is left at the hands of the Ancestors. Freya turns to Elijah, and both are visibly shaken, though Freya tells him that it had to be done. Freya and Elijah show up just in time to save Klaus and Hayley. Freya starts the spell, uses the Magic she has gathered from the Ancestors, to revert Lucien to his normal vampiric state, and she succeeds though she is left a bit winded. Freya tells them that Lucien is a regular vampire now, that his power was gone. She watches as Klaus belittles and ends Lucien. Freya tells Klaus that, sadly, that there was something that he needed to know, trying to explain to Klaus that she had no other choice than to sacrifice Davina to save her family. Freya is seen at the Abattoir and is confronted by Vincent. Vincent tells her that she destroyed an innocent today to save people who have had more than their fair share of lifetimes. Freya agrees with him and tells him thickly that she was sorry. She continued as her tears threatened to overwhelm her, telling him she had to protect her family. Vincent accosts her by telling her that she is just as much of a bloodsucker as the rest of her family, leaving Freya stating silently and hurt by what she did. Freya is seen going to Klaus as he sits with Hope. She sadly tells him that perhaps there's solace that Klaus avenged Cami, though he tells her that they sacrificed someone Cami cared about. Freya tells him that their family is safe, but Nik rebuts by saying that they are 'fractured', giving Freya pause. Though as he said that his demons won the fight today, Freya accosts him, telling him angrily that Lucien was not his demon, and even though he sire Lucien, he didn't create 'that monster'. Klaus tells her that he feels they created a new monster entirely today, making Freya realize the gravity of the situation. In Give 'Em Hell Kid, Freya is seen trying to see if she could find out more about the prophecy as Lucien was adamant about it. Kol comes to her, causing Freya to tell him that she didn't think anyone was here, showing that she was still torn about what she did to Davina. Kol started to vent, bringing up the guilt she felt about what she did to Davina, though she didn't go to either Cami's nor Davina's funeral as she was trying to see if her family was safe. After he asks her if desecrating the dead was to become her hobby, Freya tells him that Lucien still believed that the prophecy was unfolding before he died, telling Kol that the remains were the oracle Alexis. Freya tells him that Alexis' power was one she barely understood, but now that her power was augmented by the Ancestors, she could channel Alexis and forecast as she did to see if the prophecy was still taking place. Kol tells her he doesn't care and that they could rot, though he is sad that he won't be around to see it. As Freya asks him where he's going, he tells her it's none of her business and that he has nothing here causing Freya to approach him, telling him that isn't true, that he has a family. Kol stops her though telling her that even if she is his sister, and she spent all her life searching for them, he never for once wanted her. Freya is seen frustrated that she can't get a solid vision of the prophecy, explaining to Elijah that each time she has something, it slips away. As Elijah touches her, they both get hits of the prophecy, showing Marcel as the Beast. Freya looks scared as Elijah tells her to finish the vision and they hold hands. Freya is out of breath as the vision ends, both of them looking shocked by what they saw. They are seen going downstairs, with Elijah asking what he just saw. Freya explains that Vincent figured out how to pull the serum from Aurora's body, and if he told it and gave it to Marcel…they wouldn't be able to stop him. Freya is seen sensing if the serum was still inside Aurora but came to the conclusion that there was none. Freya tells Elijah that they need to warn Klaus but he tells her Klaus isn't answering his phone. Freya worriedly tells her brother that the power she stole from the Ancestors, though it was enough to deal with Lucien, it was diminished now and if Marcel becomes the Beast, then she wouldn't be able to stop him. In The Bloody Crown, Freya is seen preparing to cast a spell. As she didn't sleep last night, she tells Kol that she was feeling a sense of dread. She wonders if it is her own guilt or if it's her intuition telling her something is coming. So she performs the spell she used to track Klaus' enemies only to be proven right and that all of Klaus' enemies are right here in New Orleans, making Freya cover her mouth in shock. As she continues to track his enemies, she notices the spell's results and looks on in disbelief. Freya is then cut with the same ring that a Strix member had used to poison her some time before. As Freya begins to succumb to the effects of the poison, Hayley comes in and dispatches the vampire responsible. As Hayley asks Freya what they did to her, another vampire entered the room. Hayley manages to kill him and escorts Freya out of the room. Hayley brings Freya to her house and tells her not to move. Freya looks at Hayley with Hope and tells her that the prophecy is coming true. Hayley tells her that there has to be a way out of this, especially with Freya's magic, and gives her blood to lessen the effects of the poison. Freya tells Hayley that even if she was cured, the power she used to fight Lucien is gone and Marcel is unstoppable. Freya is seen with Hayley and Hope in Lucien's penthouse, both of them looking for the antidote. Freya starts to lose hope as they can't find it and if she doesn't she would die. Freya hurriedly sat by her brothers as Klaus brought them into the penthouse, looking worried as she noticed their condition. She sits with Kol as he rants. Klaus says that seeing that Lucien formulated the venom from the seven werewolf packs, then maybe that's what they should use to find an antidote. Freya tells him that that is the first piece to a puzzle none of them will be able to solve as Rebekah is hexed, Elijah and Kol are bitten and she herself is poisoned; as the cures for all three ailments may takes years to find they would all die before they even find them. Freya is still sitting with Kol, tending to him. He tells her that it's only fair that they both pay for their sins against Davina, however, she tells him that Davina didn't want revenge. Kol tells her to put him out of his misery or at least put him to sleep, at which Freya got a revelation and looked pensive. Freya is seen helping to hold Kol down as he starts to trash. She goes to Klaus and tells him that there may be a way to save them, Klaus tells her that he would move the world to make it so and Freya tells him that she needs time. Klaus asks her if she wants him to stand trial before a death-dealing mob but Freya tells him darkly that that is just the easy part. Freya tells him, "in order to save your family…you need to come out of that trial alive." Freya is seen carefully writing down the names of her siblings in runes when Hayley tells her that Kol's condition is getting worse. Freya is then seen tending to Kol as Hayley takes a call from Rebekah. Freya asks for Rebekah's dagger as Hayley ends the call, which she places on the paper with their runic names which have blood on each name. She is clearly feeling the effects of the poison as it worsens, and she sits with her brothers as she starts the spell. The blood on the paper begins to move towards each other, and the effects of the spell can be seen affecting both Elijah and Kol, and Freya's nose starts to bleed. As the spell takes effect, and the blood connects and covers all five names, Freya, Kol, and Elijah immediately fall unconscious. Freya is seen in a coffin alongside her siblings. Freya asks her siblings if they like the plane she placed them. She tells them that it was what she always dreamed of, their home away from the city with just them, the family. Elijah asks her if this creation was hers or Klaus', but she explains that they are linked to Klaus' life force by the spell Dahlia used on them to keep them alive for a thousand years. Freya tells him that she realized that it was the only way, put them in a deep sleep so that Hayley can have enough time to find cures for them all; she also explains that with her addition of the Chambre de Chasse, they can remain in there until they wake. |
In Gather Up the Killers, Freya is seen as Hayley prepares to wake her early from the sleep spell. Hayley stabs a syringe into Freya's heart causing her to awaken painfully and disoriented. After being welcomed by Hayley, Freya wastes no time in the joy of waking as she has a job to do. She asks Hayley if she had gotten all the ingredients she asked for five years prior, after seeing that they were there, she says that if she can't turn them into the cure they need, her brothers were going to die. As Freya finishes up drawing the diagram for her spell, Hayley asks her how long do they have to which Freya responds that they have an hour at best. As she proactively tells Hayley that she has the ingredients, Freya states that it will take all her power and more than a little luck to probably create the antidote, to which Hayley seemed worried. As Hayley announces that they have visitors, Freya states that they must have been tracking Keelin (whom they are ignoring) and tells Hayley that she needs more time, making Hayley go to confront their aggressors. Freya is then seen focusing as she recites her incantation for her attempt at the cure; with all the items she required around her. As she chants, Keelin struggles to get free as a strangler vampire came in. Keelin manages to free one hand to fend off the attacker, threatening him as he tries to overpower her. The struggle interrupts Freya who was trying to ignore them and she pauses her spell to gesture with her hand without so much as looking towards them. The vampire dies painfully (bleeding from the orifices) causing a scared Keelin to ask a clearly irritated Freya if she just waved her hand and their attacker's brain melts, to which Freya responds by saying "that's what happens when people annoy her." Freya is seen finishing up her spell, putting more effort into it as she waves her hands over the bowl. When she feels the spell taking place and the blood in the bowl changes, she quickly goes over to Elijah as Keelin asks if it worked, and prepares to place the concoction on his bite. Freya is seen deep in thought, overlooking the coffins that she and her siblings had been occupying. When Keelin asks if they were going to release her, Freya tells her that she barely had enough anti-venom to cure Marcel's bite, and if they were to be bitten again they would need more, and by extension would need Keelin alive. Freya tells her to consider herself lucky, to which Keelin rebuts that they had a deal. Freya quickly and stoically tells Keelin that she had a deal with Hayley, not her, and continues rather darkly by saying that when it came to her family's safety, she does not negotiate. In No Quarter, Freya is seen asking her siblings if what they were doing was absolutely necessary. When Rebekah asked her if she wanted them at their full strength or if she intended to rescue their brother alone to with Freya answered by specifying what the problem was, the death screams of the prisoners, as it was disrupting her focus. She tells them that she can sense Klaus is in New Orleans, most likely underground, but she can't be more accurate unless she is in the city itself. Hayley tells her that it is a bad idea as the city is crawling with vampires all of whom hate them. Freya states simply that she wasn't planning on lingering for fun, but to stay as long as necessary to locate and rescue Klaus. Despite Kol's argument, Elijah states that they will save Klaus even if he has to burn New Orleans to the ground, to which Freya's expression showed no objections. She is later seen being escorted by Hayley and Kol, even though she was disguised, safely to the location she had chosen. As Kol asked her why she chose this dumb, Freya tells him as she sets up her spell that when she had first arrived in New Orleans, she had marked the bell tower with her magic and made it her own. As Kol states that it may be hers but New Orleans was Marcel's and they were targets causing Hayley to tell him that the sooner she can find Klaus the sooner they can leave. As Freya cuts her finger, she tells them that it wouldn't take long before she did. Freya is seen in Rousseau's as they use Josh to their advantage. As Kol asked Freya if she was sure, she explains that Marcel must have carved out a section of the tunnel for his own use. As Kol tells Josh that they weren't going to leave him on his own, seeing that they are wasting more time, Freya suggested that they just snap his neck as they would be done by the time he wakes. After reaching the consensus that they wouldn't kill Josh, and that Kol would guard him, Freya tells them that since all is set they should quit wasting time and go, with Elijah, Hayley and herself entering the tunnel. Freya and the others find Klaus' prison, with Elijah failing to break open the gate, Freya used her magic to easily open it. As they advanced on Klaus, Freya wasted no time in assessing what defenses they were up against; sensing a powerful and five-year-reinforced boundary spell Freya states that it would take a while to get through. As Elijah immediately dismissed the idea as they had no time, Freya told him that she could try breaking it with brute force but she would have to channel someone, to which Hayley volunteered, telling Elijah to keep watch. Freya holds Hayley's hand as she begins the spell. Freya is seen still at it with the boundary spell, with Hayley showing visible signs of Freya's channeling. As Freya continues to chant, Elijah hears someone approaching, telling her that no matter what happens she should not stop until their brother is freed, to which she nodded her agreement; Elijah goes to stall the incoming threat. Freya is still chanting to break the boundary, with Hayley hearing the fight above them, she tells Freya that she has to go help, Elijah. Freya breathlessly stopped her, however, telling her that she was almost through and upon breaching the boundary grants Hayley permission to go aid Elijah. As Hayley takes her leaves, Freya continues her spell more intensely, trying to pry the boundary open, as she struggles she calls to Klaus to try and rouse him. Desperately trying to wake her brother she states that she can't hold the breach any longer as the boundary was reinstating itself, Freya desperately increases her efforts to keep it open. Freya is seen with Klaus as he stabs the Tunde Blade into Marcel's chest, stalling his assault. As Marcel struggles to remove it, the family makes their escape. Freya re-joins her siblings telling Rebekah that she could hug Klaus later as they were pressed for time. As they almost make their getaway, Marcel appears, and despite being a bit winded, Freya prepares for the worst, with her family. Freya and the others leave after Marcel permits them to. Freya is last seen with the others as they reach Hayley's hideout. She asks Kol what he was still doing with Josh's phone, showing concern that they could be tracked even though they had gotten away from Marcel. She enters the house after Kol. In Haunter of Ruins, Freya is seen on the porch of Hayley's safe house, with all of her siblings. As Kol asks them why they haven't distanced themselves even more from Marcel and New Orleans, and despite what Elijah and Rebekah said, Freya agrees with Kol. She says that they need to put an ocean between them and Marcel immediately, and as Klaus declines she tells him that the longer they stay is a risk. Freya refrains from pursuing the topic further as Hayley brings out Hope. After the siblings present themselves to a shy Hope, Freya watches as her niece goes off to the garden. Freya is then seen entering the barn as Hayley takes off Keelin's mask. As Freya asks why the mask is off, Hayley tells her that Keelin needed a break. Freya retorts saying Keelin won't die and that they need more of her venom to make the cure or her brothers would not be as fortunate as Keelin. As Hayley tells Freya with apparent discomfort to do what she needed to do, Freya looked on with a slightly troubled expression. Freya is again seen with Keelin making a paste, telling Keelin that her predicament isn't a punishment but a necessary evil, which causes Keelin to rebut her statement. As Keelin shrinks away from Freya when she approached, Freya tells her to be calm as the paste is for her wounds. After applying the paste, she inquires as to why Keelin, a wolf, was not healing as she should. After Keelin tells Freya that in order to appear normal and not a freak of nature, she created a temporary medical suppressant to her wolf condition, Freya becomes interested. Freya is once again seen coming to check on Keelin only to find her absent. She asks Hayley where Keelin is and when Hayley says that she had to Freya reprimanded her, asking Hayley if she sentenced her family to death. As Freya sets off to go after Keelin, Hayley stops her forcefully, pinning her by the throat, which clearly upsets Freya. Freya magically tosses Hayley across the room, stating to a downed Hayley that she could do much worse and that Hayley should stay out of her way. As Hayley stops her again, telling her they have enough venom to make the cure but Freya, trying to reign in her anger, tells Hayley that Marcel could be handing out his venom, thereby spreading the threat. As Hayley goes on to state that Keelin shouldn't have to suffer, expounding on Freya's comment that she has a daughter to protect and that Hope will ask questions about Keelin's captivity. Freya tells Hayley to tell Hope that as the world is a bad place then sometimes you had to do a bad thing to survive, further stating that Hope would be safer if she learned that early. As she walks off, Hayley tells Freya that it's their job to protect Hope and her innocence, Freya, however, tells Hayley that Hope is a "Mikaelson" and that she can't live without her family but she could live without her innocence. As Freya's anger almost propels her to disown Hayley as a part of her family, Elijah comes in and halts the conversation from doing irreparable damage. As Freya manages to control her emotions, she thanks Elijah and goes to track Keelin once more, but Elijah stops her, causing Freya to give a dark laugh, but she agrees to let Keelin go and walks out leaving Elijah and Hayley behind. Freya is seen out at night near a pub standing in front of Keelin's stolen car. As Keelin decides to run Freya over, Freya uses her magic to disable the vehicle and advanced on Keelin. As Freya tries to open the door, Keelin's anger empowers her enough to kick the door off its hinges and sends Freya flying over a car. As Keelin tries to make a run for it, she stumbles in pain as Freya gives her an aneurysm. As Freya advanced on Keelin she tells her that she can't let her go but grants her a choice: "come back with me, or I will make this hurt." Freya is seen back at the house, worriedly assessing Hope's condition. Coming to the conclusion that it was a magical affliction and describes the feeling as cold. As Freya sits there holding Hope's hand, Hayley states that Vincent sent them a message and that he can help Hope, but they have to go back to New Orleans. Freya is later seen, telling a now magically trapped Keelin, that she knows how she views her. Freya goes on to tell her that if she could track her down, then so can others and the only difference was that they wanted Keelin dead but Freya needs her alive. After Keelin aggressively refuses Freya's statement for her gratitude, Freya exasperatedly tells Keelin that her family is going back to New Orleans to protect her niece but is struck by an idea. As Keelin asks Freya what she means by curing the disease, Freya establishes a new deal: Keelin helps her find a way to set them all free, by killing Marcel and Keelin will get her freedom. In Keepers of the House, Freya is seen hurrying into the barn in the morning, her search waking Keelin. As Keelin asked Freya if she got any sleep, Freya tells her that she just woke from a five-year slumber, and states that she is going to New Orleans to help her niece. Keelin asks her to get Marcel's venom if she can since she is going to New Orleans, to which Freya suggests that as Marcel would be busy, they could break into Marcel's penthouse and take what they need. As Keelin backs out of the offer because of the danger it poses, Freya offers her a way to even the playing field, granting her a ring to control her wolf nature. As Keelin states that it's all she has ever wanted, a cure, she asks Freya what's the catch after looking on her face and notices she can't take the ring off. Freya corrects her, stating that it's insurance and as it was all Keelin ever wanted, she should help her. Freya is later seen breaking into Marcel's penthouse with Keelin. As Keelin tells her she would make an excellent thief, Freya tells her that all magic is opening locks and finding loopholes. As Keelin asks Freya why she doesn't tell her family their plan, Freya explains that they are sensitive when it came to Marcel, to which Keelin asks if Freya doesn't care, stating that she was a merciless badass. Freya smiles telling her that someone has to be the big sister, and after Keelin asks where to look, Freya shares that as Marcel stored Klaus' blood, he also must have done so with his venom. As Keelin mentions that the ring enhances Keelin's wolf instincts, Keelin told her that she wasn't a bloodhound. Freya, seemingly annoyed, does it her way by immediately locating the safe through magic. Freya is seen again still at Marcel's home, trying to open the safe but it seems to be spelled shut. As she can't open it, Freya states that it's what they were searching for, and as she seems to be sizing up the safe Keelin reminds her that if she blows it up then they would know that they were there. Freya testily asks if she had a better idea because her family needed her and she was running out of time for this venture. Seeing how troubled Freya looked, Keelin tells her to go help Hope, as she would use her wolf senses to crack the safe and bring whatever they can use back to Freya. Freya advances on Keelin, as she begins to tell her that if she tries to run, Keelin tells her that she knows what would happen and that Freya should help her family and she would meet Freya wherever she wanted her to. Though hesitant, Freya decides to trust Keelin as she had no other alternative at the moment. Freya is later seen at the Abattoir, preparing some mixture while watching Hope with a worried look on her face. Freya seems to feel something happening with Hope as her family tries to help Hope elsewhere. As the spell breaks, Freya gasps and looks at Hope to see the outcome. As Hope wakes, Freya happily hugs her niece in relief, with Hope telling her that they weren't cold anymore. At the bell tower, Freya sees that Keelin actually came. After Keelin mentioned she had no choice, Freya seems to start to explain, but Keelin stops her stating that she was taught to uphold deals and as she was wanted by others, she was Team Mikaelson whether she wanted to or not. After regarding her, Freya gestures for Keelin to take her hand, at which she whispers a spell on the ring and tells Keelin that she removed the leash but she can keep the benefits the ring grants her. As Keelin asks if this was an apology or a thank you, Freya uncomfortably states that she doesn't know as she isn't very good at either one. In I Hear You Knocking, Freya is seen mixing something as Keelin wakes from a night of drinking. Seeing that Freya left her a cup of coffee, Keelin calls her an Angel of Mercy, stating that it almost made up for her kidnapping. Freya tells Keelin that her kidnapping kept her alive, and it was the least she could do as Keelin helped her with their breakthrough. Keelin asked Freya why she was so perky, and as an answer, Freya hands over the thousand-year-old hangover cure that she had been making. Freya also tells Keelin with a smile that their mission was accomplished, displaying the fruits of their labor. Keelin asks Freya is she is sure that the dagger can kill Marcel, the Beast. Freya explains that though it took some time, the combination her blood, Esther's magic, Marcel's venom, and Lucien's ashes can kill Marcel. Keelin happily states their deal is over and she can now leave with both of them going back to their lives. Freya, who seems a bit disappointed, composes herself and tells Keelin that a deal was a deal. Seeing this, Keelin tells Freya to not look so disappointed as their arrangement was not meant to be a long-term friendship. Two share a tense moment where they say goodbye to each other, after which Freya receives a message from Klaus stating that they needed to talk, which seems to darken Freya's mood. Later that morning, Klaus comes to her about his and Marcel's encounter with the Hollow and its ritual in the woods. Klaus tells her that he was infected by some "depraved ghost" and as Freya tells him that she wishes to purify him to fix his affliction. However, Freya states that since he is seeing visions of their dead father urging him to kill his enemy, maybe Marcel was also exposed, leading Klaus to state that if so, they were all at risk. Freya states that she needs to purify them both, to which Klaus counters by saying that if it can peer into him, then he can peer back at it and be able to find out what it wants. Freya refuses, telling him it too dangerous which leads Klaus to furiously responds that it came for his daughter. Freya understands and she decides to give him an hour, but no longer. She also gives him the enchanted dagger that she created to kill Marcel and tells him to chastise her later for keeping it a secret after he survives the day. Freya looks on after Klaus leaves clearly worried for his safety. Later, Keelin returns to the church tower where Freya is preparing another dangerous spell. Freya questions why she returned and Keelin replies that it was her "Hippocratic Oath", that Marcel was still around and Freya was alone. Keelin also mentions that Freya cured her of her curse. Freya tells her with a smile that she appreciates her willingness to help, but as usual that she was in the middle of a family crisis. As Keelin asks what they got themselves into again, Freya explains she was preparing a representational spell to channel the Hollow in order to figure out how to heal Klaus. After Keelin hears that it will also allow the Hollow access to her, Keelin sarcastically says that it sounds safe. Keelin further goes on to state that even though she can't advise Freya on her sorcery, she knows Freya hasn't slept in days, she is dehydrated and stressed. Freya, however, tells her rather solemnly that she doesn't have a choice, which makes Keelin offer to help, stating that that was what friends do, making Freya smile despite her dilemma. As Freya continues to prep her spell, Keelin remarks that Freya never stops, that every day she does a spell, vanquish evil doing yet another spell and repeating this over and over. Freya morbidly jokes that she has hobbies outside of spellcraft, such as collecting the ashes of her enemies. Keelin tells her that she needs to find time for herself. Freya agrees but says that once she knows that her brother is safe, then she would care more about her own time. With the final touches on her spell, Freya tells Keelin that if anything strange happens, then she should just wake her up. Freya calms herself she begins with Keelin looking on. She enters a trance-like state and eventually, the Hollow emerges from the totem. Unresponsive to Keelin's words and the advancing Hollow, Keelin pulls her aside, causing Freya to stumble into the wall forcibly. Freya learns of the Hollow's plan: Klaus and Marcel will fight to the death at which point the Hollow will absorb their power and become unstoppable. As Freya prepares to leave, Keelin tells her that she can't just go, to which Freya angrily states that the Hollow is forcing her brother into a sacrificial bloodbath. Keelin notices that Freya is bleeding from her head, most likely from when she had hit the wall. As Freya realizes that this is true, she tells Keelin that her treatment would have to wait, once again putting her family's safety before her own. Keelin tells her that she won't do Klaus any good if she has head trauma, but at noticing Freya's unwavering resolve, Keelin offers to go with her though Freya refuses, telling Keelin that she can take care of herself. Freya tracks down Klaus at the abandoned house and calls Elijah for reinforcements, telling him of the Hollow's plans. As Freya arrives at the house, her path is blocked by a powerful boundary spell. She attempts a spell to remove it though it is too strong. Her nose begins to bleed as she cannot breach the spell and she angrily slams her fists onto the barrier unable to enter. Moments later Elijah shows up, asking her if she needs a hand. Freya immediately begins channeling him, and she is able to destroy the spell after a brief time. Once they enter, Elijah is able to help Klaus with Marcel and the latter breaks his neck. Suddenly, the Hollow manifests itself in a more sinister form, a shadowy figure. The siblings are seen standing together to confront it. Freya throws her purification potion at it, angrily telling it to leave her family alone, though it seemingly angers it and it attacks briefly with a high pitched noise before it vanishes. Back at the rundown compound, Freya, Elijah and Klaus talk. She tells them to rest easy as she confirms that she cannot find any trace of the Hollow's magic on Klaus or Marcel, who she bound and cloaked in the same prison that contained Klaus. As Elijah asks where the Hollow went, Freya tells him that as a ghost, it could be anywhere. She also says that they need to be prepared as it still wanted to sacrifice someone powerful, and attempts to take back the dagger. Klaus initially refuses which makes Freya tell him firmly, that it had not been a gift, once again showing that she is the oldest sibling. She also states that the day proved that Marcel was a threat either directly or indirectly. As Klaus begins to rebut her, Freya asks him what good is a weapon if he won't use it. Elijah steps in and talks him into giving the dagger back to Freya. As she was about to take it, Klaus warns her that having a monopoly of power makes her target, to which she silently takes the dagger and leaves. Freya returns to her church tower where she and Keelin continue to talk as she stitches up her head wound. After Keelin jokes that the Mighty Freya Mikaelson was defeated by antiseptic, Freya laughs and in a more serious tone, tells her thanks. As Keelin teases her, Freya manages to tell her that sometimes, as a Mikaelson, she is forced to do things that she regrets - like kidnapping her and apologizes. Keelin tells her she gets it, and that if she had family left, she would probably go to the same lengths to save them. Keelin then nudges Freya and teasingly tells her not to mess with her again. In Bag of Cobras, Freya is seen at Rousseau's telling Keelin about the party her family was throwing. When Keelin readily agreed Freya smiled happily, telling her that there was another matter to be taken care of though they were interrupted by Hayley's arrival. Hayley tells Freya that she likes Keelin, prompting Freya to apologize to Hayley for hiding the fact that Keelin was still in town. Hayley tells Freya that she can make amends by doing her a favor, which causes Freya to give Hayley her full attention. As Hayley tells Freya about her parent's deaths, Freya's face was serious, as Hayley continues Freya stops her, showing that she understands Hayley's intentions of wanting her to do a reading of the area of her parents' death. Freya warns Hayley that violent deaths leave very specific energies and that while she can conjure up whatever there is to see, Hayley may not like what she sees, which makes Hayley tell her she doesn't really have a choice. Freya is later seen with Hayley at her childhood home at night. Freya tells Hayley that she could feel the energy left by the death, so her spell will work, but she asks Hayley if she was sure about doing it, showing her concern. As Hayley speaks about wanting to know what her parents had been like, Freya seems to understand her feelings, and Hayley tells Freya that if this helps her save Hope, then they would do it. Freya is seen solemnly asking Hayley if she was ready, as they sat around some candles. At Hayley's agreement, Freya grasps her hands and starts the spell, which was successful as Hayley sees her parents' last moments. As Hayley grasps after seeing the vision, Freya looks shaken by the energy (although it's uncertain if she had seen them as Hayley had). Freya watches as Hayley runs over to an area and break through the floorboards. They are again seen going at a storage unit, with Hayley opening the lock and realizing that she can't pull up the door, Freya places her hand on it, sensing that the room was sealed with a spell. Freya proceeds to break it easily thus allowing them to enter the storage room. As Hayley walks around, Freya stands by and when Hayley tells her that she needs to do this alone, Freya leaves. Freya is seen entering the Abattoir, the party in full swing. She looks around and spots Keelin having fun with several women, causing a shift in Freya's emotion. Freya leaves and when she returns to the party, she has changed her clothes, and is now wearing a beautiful dress. She walks over to Vincent, greeting him rather nervously. Vincent immediately tells her the whereabouts of her brother, stating that they had nothing to talk about either way. Freya tells him that it's fine, but she wants to thank him for helping her family. However, Vincent explains to her that he is only helping Hope, and that he doesn't care about anyone else in her damned family, and that the second the threat endangering his city is gone, he's going to make sure the Mikaelsons are gone too. Freya, visibly affected by his distaste, asks Vincent if he hates her because of what she did to Davina. As he ignores her, she continues by saying that even though she doesn't blame him, she did what she needed to do even though she regretted the cost. Vincent tells her not to justify what she did, as she knew it was wrong and walked off. As he did, Freya stopped him, asking silently as she approached if all his battles were free of causalities. She furthers say that if so, then she congratulates him on that fact. Freya goes on rather stoically to tell him that in her experiences she knows that survival comes at a price, just like love and family and anything else. She firmly tells him that at the end of the day, they really only answer to themselves, though Vincent rebuts her statement telling her that she probably thinks that way because she doesn't have anyone else. As Vincent gets a message from Klaus, Keelin comes over to the two asking if everything was okay. As Vincent leaves, Keelin states sarcastically that he seemed nice, and asks Freya if she wanted her to break his legs. This comment makes Freya's sour mood lighten a bit. Freya, however, asks Keelin is they could just grab a drink, which Keelin agrees to, smiling. Freya and Keelin's attention is drawn to Elijah as he holds Dominic captive, speaking to the attendees about the Hollow. As Elijah holds Dominic over the balcony, Freya looks worried and looks at Keelin quickly. Elijah then kills Dominic causing Freya and Keelin to look away. Freya is later seen with Keelin at the bell tower. Freya apologizes to Keelin as she pours her a drink, telling her that she wasn't expecting Elijah to kill someone when she invited her to the party. Keelin tells her that she gets that it's something to assume from Freya's family, and at Freya's saddened expression, Keelin quickly reminds her that she comes from a family of wolves. She further states that it's because she didn't want to become them she made her own life and career. Keelin tells here that it may take a while, but Freya could do it too, causing Freya to smile and they share a silent moment. Keelin breaks the silence by stating that Elijah cut the party short, as she was just starting to enjoy herself, slowly walking up to Freya. Freya smiles and tells her that the night is still young and she knows a great jazz bar. The two of them leave together. In High Water and a Devil's Daughter, Freya walks out of Jardin Gris with some essentials and notices Dominic. She quickly turns around and heads towards the bell tower. She performs a boundary spell as Keelin walks in and tells her it's to protect her family from people who refuse to stay dead. She asks where Keelin went as it's not safe, and Keelin tells her she has a job interview. When Keelin asks about a night out, she tells her about Dominic and that she needs to find a way to put him down. She says that when she gets the problem out of the way, they'll celebrate and she plans a date at midnight with her at Rousseau's. She heads over to Rousseau's and tells Josh she needs his blood to do a spell. She tells him that what she is doing will also keep Marcel alive, and asks if he's in. She performs a spell on Josh at the loft and he takes on Marcel's appearance. She asks him to get in the circle and instructs him on what to do. When Dominic and two other men arrive for "Marcel", Freya performs a magic aneurysm on them and manages to kill one of them, while Josh attacks the other. Freya brings down another circle on Dominic and she does another pain infliction on him, bringing him down to his knees. She manages to break all of Dominic's protection spells and tells him to leave. When Josh tries to reason with her, she tells him they're not friends considering what happened to Davina and Marcel's situation. He leaves and Dominic realizes she has questions. She asks where the other bones are and when gets a little cocky, she does a magic-induced cardiac arrest spell on him, asking him where the bones are again. She grabs his head and hears the word "Apisi", and asks him what it means. When she gets close to killing him, he reveals he knows where Keelin is and threatens her. She flings him backward and he uses magic against her, causing her to go into cardiac arrest. Keelin arrives at the loft and uses CPR on Freya, managing to revive her. She tells her that she has to go as the boundary spell is gone and leaves. They arrive at the compound and goes to Hayley's unconscious body. She tells Keelin to leave and when she does, she puts her hand to her forehead, visibly upset. Freya is sitting in a room looking at a computer and Elijah walks in. She tells him the name of the werewolf bloodline and that the last of the modern lineage died off two years ago, turning the computer his way. Freya then walks around the streets and is confronted by Keelin. She tells her that she got distracted by worrying about her and doesn't want it to happen again. When Keelin begins to walk away, she goes to her and kisses her. In Queen Death, Freya is at the bell tower making a protection spell for the compound but is using representational magic so it won't be tied to her heartbeat. She shows Keelin the breakfast she has prepared on the table and receive a message, which causes her to leave, but with Keelin as well since she has her back. At the compound, she begins to do a locator spell to find Elijah but sees that he is cloaked by a spell. She and Hayley notice the jawbone is spinning around and Vincent walks in, telling them that it is The Hollow. He tells them that she'll be using Elijah as a sacrifice an if she doesn't get the jawbone by sundown, she'll come to the compound to get it. She then joins Hayley, Vincent, Klaus and Marcel in the living room to do a surprise plan on The Hollow to put her down for good. Freya notes that there's always a loophole and welcomes Vincent to look through her mother's grimoires with her. As she and Vincent go through the books and Cami's logs about dark objects, it still wouldn't be enough for the Hollow. As Vincent notes that the room their in is the same that she did her feat with Davina, Freya tells him she regrets what she did. As they argue, Freya gets an idea and shows the talisman she used to place Finn's soul in at one time. She then tells Klaus and Hayley about how an Original's death can power their spell to seal the Hollow away, and she can harness all her power to put Elijah inside the talisman. But, as Elijah has been poisoned for some time, there's a chance he may not survive the process. She starts preparing a spell using Keelin's and Marcel's venom, and states while she can't trace Elijah, she can track the magic of the thing killing him. Keelin tells her to watch herself and if she can get a chance, then take the Hollow down for good, and they then embrace each other. She then stands beside Klaus and tells him it's time and notices that he's watching Hope and Keelin. She then arrives at the cabin Elijah is at and tells Hayley she'll need time to break the barrier as it's very old magic. She begins the spell and notes that it's working, and keeps going. She tells Hayley to get the cure ready as the barrier is about down the Hollow arrives, managing to send a wind and destroy the jar the cure is in. As the Hollow begins her spell to kill Elijah, Freya chants to put his spirit in her pendant and notices that her magic is blocking her, but can feel him in the pendant. The Hollow finishes her spell, killing Elijah, and flings Freya back alongside Hayley. When Klaus asks to see the pendant, Freya opens her palm and shows it is broken, visibly upset at this turn of events. Afterward, Freya begins to put the pendant back together at the compound and keeps trying to feel if Elijah is inside. She tells Klaus she needs time and begins to cry when Hope walks in. When Hope touches Freya, she notes that she feels him inside, but he sounds as though he is in pain. In Phantomesque, Freya casts a spell that allows her to project herself into her talisman and Elijah's mind. However, Freya is unable to find the memory in which Elijah has retreated to. Instead, she finds memories of Elijah her family together. Unable to help Elijah herself, Freya opts to put Hayley inside the pendant but will have to channel a powerful witch of her bloodline; Hope. Once Hayley is inside the pendant, things begin to go wrong and Freya decides to put Hope inside the pendant in order to help Hayley, but instructs her not to open any of the doors in Elijah's mind. Upon Hope's success, Freya is able to fix the pendant. However, she retorts that she must wait until Elijah's body is healed to revive him, as putting him inside a different body is too risky. In A Spirit Here That Won't Be Broken, Freya tells Hayley and Klaus that the integrity of the pendant is growing unstable and they need to resurrect Elijah that night. She tells them they could use Inadu as a sacrifice and channel that power to resurrect Elijah. She also suggests using the last living Labonair, Hope, and wield a blade forged with Hope's blood to end her once and for all. Freya then uses a different type of locator spell to race Inadu's magic and finds that she is in the Garden District. She also states to Rebekah that Inadu could be using a totem to protect her and her power. She tells Rebekah they have to destroy the totem before they confront Inadu and gives the map to Rebekah. When Rebekah nor Kol aren't answering their phones, Freya tells Klaus to find the totem. She tells him she'll stay with Hayley and he hands her two daggers to be anointed with Hope's blood. She and Hayley head to a house an prepare for their battle. They walk into the house and notice a bunch of bodies laying around, with blood on their face. They enter a room and Freya is flung across by Inadu. Freya soon wakes up with some blood on her face, she picks up the dagger and begins looking for Hayley. She then sees Keelin's body on the floor and when she thinks she is dead, Keelin wakes up and says not yet. She tries to use magic to break the chains on a door and the hallucination of Keelin created by Inadu continues to mock her. She uses a tiny hammer to break the chains and she finally manages to and sees Hayley on the floor. She asks if she's okay and that they need to stab Inadu now, handing her the dagger. When Inadu brings Hayley to the ground, Freya flings a small knife into Inadu's neck. She then watches Hayley stab Inadu repeatedly and stops her, telling Hayley that's she's gone. Sometime later, Freya begins to channel the magic to resurrect Elijah and uses Klaus as well. As she chants more, the pendant begins to glow a bright blue and Elijah is resurrected. In Voodoo Child, Freya is seen for the first time bringing Keelin coffee outside of St. Theodora's Clinic. Freya remarks that she looks good for someone who just pulled an all-nighter. Keelin asks what she's doing there, before accepting the coffee. Freya states that she needed to see her, to which Keelin responds by saying that bringing her coffee is completely unlike her, and asking how worried she should be. Freya then informs her that she and Hayley defeated the Hollow the night before, but before they did, the Hollow entered her mind and capitalized on her greatest fear. Keelin asks what she saw in the vision, to which Freya revealed that she saw Keelin laying on the floor dead, as she wasn't able to save her. Keelin quickly assures her that she's fine - exhausted, but fine. Freya tells her that she all she could think about was how she didn't tell Keelin how she really feels about her, to which Keelin asks what that is. The two then proceed to have sex in Freya's bedroom. Later, after the two have sex, Freya is seen putting her earrings back in and fixing her hair. Keelin walks up behind her and wraps her arms around her waist, admitting to Freya that it was nice to see her this morning. Freya admits that she almost didn't go to see her, that she almost ran away, as that's what she normally does. Keelin asked why she didn't run away and instead went to the clinic. Freya turns and takes Keelin's hands, before admitting that she realized that she wasn't immortal anymore - and neither was Keelin, and she didn't want to waste her life running anymore. Keelin responds that she's glad Freya didn't run, and the two share a kiss before Freya leaves. Freya then goes to see Hayley, and she seems very happy and excited. She tells Hayley that she knows they don't normally share in the family, but she had to tell somebody - presumably about Keelin. However, Freya notices that Hayley is distant and asks her what's wrong. Hayley tells her that she can't stop thinking about the Hollow, and how she doesn't think that Inadu is really gone. She gives Freya Hope's hairbrush and asks her to do a reading, to see what kind of energy was on it. Freya takes the brush and abruptly drops it, stating that she could feel the Hollow's energy. The two quickly figure out that Inadu was able to use the Labonair bloodline as a strength, instead of a weakness. They then wonder what they're going to do next. Later, Freya is seen casting a spell in her bedroom with Keelin nearby. Freya states that Keelin would be safe in her room, as the spell would only allow Freya to enter. Keelin disagrees and says that she's not staying in the room and if Freya's fighting she's fighting too. Freya takes Keelin's hands and gives her a kiss, to which Keelin asks her not to try and stop her. Freya admits that she already has, and when Keelin looks at her hands they are covered in white powder. Moments later, she faints and is laid on the bed by Freya. Freya then leaves her room and goes to another room in the compound, where she finds Inadu (who is in Hope's body) and Hayley fighting. Freya yells' Inadu's name, catching her off guard and uses the same powder she used on Keelin to put Hope to sleep. Moments later in another room inside the compound, Freya and Hayley are preparing to cast another spell. Freya pulls out her pendant and states that the repaired necklace should be able to hold Hope's spirit. As she holds up the pendant to start the spell, it is shattered by Inadu. Freya is then thrown against a wall, she is rendered unconscious. Freya is later seen with the rest of her family, along with Vincent, Keelin, and Marcel, talking about what to do now that the Hollow has taken control of Hope's body and left the compound. Klaus arrives with Elijah and during a speech, tells Freya that the "always and forever" vow now includes her and his daughter. In The Feast of All Sinners, Freya is with her siblings when Vincent tells them that the only way to save Hope from The Hollow is for Rebekah, Klaus, Elijah, and Kol to become hosts of The Hollow's soul. The consequence of it will be that they won't be able to see each other anymore. Freya initially refuses to let her family be split apart and searches her mother's grimoires in order to find another way to save Hope. When she realizes that the ritual is indeed the only way, Freya is willing to become a vampire and to take Kol's place if the latter doesn't show up in time. Fortunately, Kol arrives and Freya's sacrifice is no longer necessary. Later, Freya helps Vincent performing the ritual. After the ritual, she talks to Rebekah and receives a pendant from her sister to be given to Hope. Later, Freya gives the pendant to her niece and says goodbye to her and Hayley. |
In Where You Left Your Heart, Freya begins packing to leave New Orleans with Keelin. Vincent is confused, and questions her on it. Freya remarks that Keelin stayed in New Orleans for six years waiting for her, and now it's time to repay her.
In One Wrong Turn On Bourbon, Freya meets with Vincent for coffee. The two talk, and Freya reveals that Klaus is back in town to investigate Hayley's disappearance. Vincent tells Freya that he will miss her when she leaves New Orleans for good.
After the revelation that Hope is in fact Hayley's kidnapper, Freya jokes that this is typical Mikaelson witch behavior; she remarks that at Hope's age, her tantrums caused the destruction of entire villages.
Later, when Hayley is missing for real, Freya begins to panic. It becomes clear that another Mikaelson emergency is preventing her from leaving with Keelin. Freya tells Keelin to leave New Orleans and travel, but Keelin is reluctant to leave without Freya. Freya cites that she cannot love both Keelin and her family at the same time.
In Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, she goes to Mystic Falls to see Hope and notices that she has ancient cloaking spells gathered on the floor. Later, as they walk across the field while a soccer game is being played, they talk about the spells and Hope tells her she wants to find a way to see if she can undo her cloaking spell to find her mom. Freya is reluctant at doing the spell and they go to an abandoned house. When Hope cuts her palm and heals quickly, she realizes Freya already knew this and wasn't entirely in on all helping her. Freya reveals to her what the witches of New Orleans saw and that the firstborns in their family possess devastating power. When Hope gets angry and unleashes fire all over, Freya tells her to calm down. At night, she interrupts Hope talking to Roman and begins to talk to her again.
In Don't It Just Break Your Heart, Freya takes Hope to an abandoned, condemned property to train her. Hope uses her werewolf strength and agility to maneuver around the property, which surprises Freya, who remarks that she wishes she also had the same abilities. Freya and Hope clash when Hope makes a comment about triggering her werewolf side, and Freya is forced to explain that Hayley doesn't want that life for her.
The conversation takes a drastic turn when it is suggested that — in order to protect her family — Hope suppress her werewolf side in a similar way to how Esther suppressed Klaus' werewolf side centuries earlier. Freya warns Hope against the ritual, remarking that she knows what it is like being repressed; Hope is unwilling to listen, however and insists they carry out the ritual.
Back at the property, Freya prepares to begin the ritual, but is interrupted by Klaus, who exclaims that he refuses to allow Hope to follow the same past he did. Klaus is ashamed that Freya would try such a thing without talking it through with him, but Freya remarks that it is not his decision.
In What, Will, I, Have, Left, Freya is confronted by Declan, who is upset that she and the other Mikaelsons are not doing more to look for Hayley. Despite being aware that Hayley is missing, Freya blows Declan off, citing that she is working with the police. Freya attempts to tell Declan about Hayley not being human, however is prevented by Vincent who starts a fire in the kitchen.
In God's Gonna Trouble the Water, Freya attends the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted to ensure Hope is safe. Hope is frantic when she awakes, however Freya is forced to explain that Hayley is gone. She later talks with Klaus on the phone to determine arrangements for Hayley's funeral.
At the precession, Hope is confused at the numerous amount of people, but Freya assures her that Hayley was popular and made a mark on New Orleans; everyone turned out to honor her. Later, the werewolves and Mikaelson Family have a private funeral for Hayley. Freya delivers a eulogy at the funeral before burning Hayley's body in true-werewolf fashion.
- "People will forget the things you said, forget the things you did, but no one ever forgets the way you made them feel. Hayley Marshall... made me feel like I was part of a family. And when the realities of this life became too much to bear, we shouldered them together. We laughed, we cried. When I failed, she lifted me up. And when I succeeded, she danced by my side. And she did that for all of us. No one will ever be able to replace her, or heal the pain we feel at her loss. But we can honor her with our actions and with our words... We can love each other. The way she would've wanted us to love."
- —Freya's eulogy
In The Kindness of Strangers, Freya is cast within the Chambre de Chasse with her family. When Kol notes that the witch must've spent time at the Abattoir to replicate the intricate nature of the Mikaelson's, Freya remarks that the witch may be closer to home. When Klaus suggests Vincent, Freya cites that Vincent wouldn't hurt Hope, but could be sinking their bodies as they speak. At the courtyard, the Mikaelson's see a door with five locks. Freya explains that the door will not open until all locks are released and, in order to release the locks, the siblings must work together.
Kol and Freya speak in the music room of the Abattoir. Kol remarks that the music room was wiped out over a century ago in a storm, therefore Hope — or any other witch alive — would not know of the room, or what it looks like; given Chambre de Chasse's are constructed from depth of memory, only someone who had been inside the room could've constructed it. With this, Kol remarks that he recalls bringing Freya to the music room in 1914 during the Christmas party, and comes to the conclusion that she is the one who created the false reality.
Shortly after, all of the family become aware that the Chambre de Chasse is Freya's work. She reveals that Hope aksed for her help, and given the prophecy is nearing completion, it is within her best interest to help Hope take the power of the Hollow back. With this, Freya leaves the Chambre de Chasse.
In We Have Not Long To Love, Freya eats breakfast with her family following their return to New Orleans. Hope leaves the breakfast abruptly, however, when Elijah arrives, and Elijah cites that he should not have come given the hand he played in her mother's death.
Later, Klaus is still visibly angry with Freya for her involvement in Hope's scheme to take back the power of the Hollow. Freya remarks that she sees Hope as the child she never had, and that she wouldn't let her do something reckless alone. Freya suggests that Hope wear the bracelet — that binds magic — again; this will not save her, but could slow down the damage the Hollow is doing to Hope.
Freya and Klaus are interrupted, however, by Declan, who is angry that Freya told him of Hayley's death via voicemail. Freya tells Declan that Hayley died in a car crash when the breaks failed, but Declan is reluctant to accept the explanation. Freya makes up an excuse to leave the conversation.
After Keelin is nearly killed by a walker explosion during preparations for Mardi Gras, Freya asks Keelin to marry her. Keelin is confused, but Freya explains that she has been planning the moment for two years, but has only just found the right moment. Keelin is ecstatic and agrees to marry her.
- "Um, two years ago, I started planning how I was going to say it. Um, what that moment would look like. I was just waiting for the right time, but the right time never came. And then, finally, today, it dawned on me that there's never a perfect time. There's just right now. And right now, I don't want to spend another second without you. No more reuniting at funerals. No more astral projections from the Middle East. No more choosing between you and my family, because you are my family, Keelin. You're everything to me. So, please, marry me."
- —Freya asks Keelin to marry her
In 'Til the Day I Die, Freya and Keelin are in bed together and discuss the prospect of marriage. Freya tells Keelin that she feels selfish with the prospect of marriage following Josh and Ivy's deaths. Keelin, however, tells her that Josh would want her to live her life. With this, Keelin suggests that they should marry later that day, and Freya happily agrees.
With the wedding decided, Freya tells Elijah that she has decided who will play which role in the wedding, and would like Elijah to walk her down the isle — a duty customary for a bride's father. Despite being moved by the notion, Elijah tells Freya that he cannot walk her down the aisle as he is still grieving for Hayley. Saddened by this, Freya leaves Elijah alone to look through Hayley's belongings. Freya is further saddened when Vincent reveals that he cannot be her best man because he is leaving town. Freya begs him to stay, telling him that the seven years of peace they had were because of him, however he tells her that he cannot stay, and she tells him not to disappear on her.
Freya tells Rebekah that she never thought that she would be walking herself down the aisle, and Rebekah tells her that Elijah will likely come around, but Freya isn't so certain, and reveals that Elijah is different since Hayley died despite not knowing her at the time. Rebekah brings up the idea of children, which creates tension as it becomes clear that Freya is uncertain about the prospect of children despite Keelin being set on having them. With Rebekah's advice, Freya talks with Keelin about the situation, revealing that she cannot have children, given she lost a child before he was even born. Freya calls of the wedding, telling Keelin that she cannot ask her to sacrifice something which means that much to her. Keelin leaves, and Rebekah finds Freya crying in her room. Freya tells Rebekah that nobody deserves to be with a Mikaelson. Rebekah is able to convince Freya that whilst the family is broken, she can break the pattern and they are not doomed to repeat their parent's mistakes.
- "How do you tell someone you can't have a child because you're afraid you're gonna hurt it? That you'll find some way to put your needs before theirs because that's what your parents did to you. That you're toxic and broken and a Mikaelson, and that's just what we do."
- —Freya to Rebekah
Freya and Keelin talk again about the possibility of having children again, and Keelin reveals that she never planned on having children until meeting Freya. She tells Freya that if the possibility of having children is not on the table then she needs time to process the situation. Freya tells Keelin that she is open to spending the rest of their lives together, and gives the impression that children may be on the table in the future, and the two tell each other they love one another and decide to get married again.
Klaus arrives just as Freya is about to walk down he aisle and asks to escort her, which causes Freya to smile. Elijah enters, however, revealing that he will be the one escorting her. The two escort her down the aisle together. Freya is escorted down the aisle and married by Kol with her family surrounding her.
In When The Saints Go Marching In, having chained up Klaus in the Garden following his absorption of the Hollow, Freya reveals to Hope that his strength is working against him, killing him from the inside. She reveals to Hope, now in a fragile state, that her father will more than likely not survive until the end of the day. Grief stricken, Hope suggests that they divide the Hollow among the Mikaelson siblings once again, however Freya disregards the idea, not wanting to return to their initial starting point.
While trying to find some relief for Klaus' situation, Freya notices that Vincent is packing his bags and, questioning him, he reveals that he has decided to leave New Orleans behind in search of a fresh start. This upsets Freya, who reveals that her and Keelin have decided to start a family and want Vincent to be the father of their child, however Vincent does not reply, visibly shocked and emotional. Not long after, Vincent expresses his concern that he feels Freya and Keelin are making a mistake and should abandon all hope of starting a family, feeling that the two are only pursuing this out of sadness — he respectfully declines their offer of being surrogate father.
Following Klaus' wish to die and eradicate the Hollow for good, Freya is present at the family's final dinner together, and for the wish burning ceremony after, in which Klaus thanks his family for all they have done over the years. With this, Vincent apologizes for what he said in the heat of the argument, realizing that if Klaus could sacrifice for his family, then he can do the same, as he accepts the offer to be surrogate father.Throughout Legacies Series[]
Season Two[]
In That's Nothing I Had to Remember, Freya meets with Josie Saltzman in Rousseau's, asking why she has been asking about her. Josie explains that she is from the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted and is seeking help to reverse engineer a spell. Freya admits that she has heard of it but perhaps Josie should ask her teachers for help. However, Josie admits that it is dark magic, which infuriates Freya who tells her not to mess with such magic. Freya is about to walk away when Josie tells her that she knows there are photographs in her house of someone she doesn't remember, whilst also revealing that she too has forgotten someone.
Freya and Josie work on figuring out the spell, and Freya asks how she even knows the spell, with Josie admitting that she siphoned it and used it to return her sisters memories. Freya receives a call from Keelin and leaves to take it, but when she returns, she finds Josie looking at photographs of Hope on the walls. She questions how they have forgotten the same person, however Josie blasts her back using magic and leaves for Mystic Falls.
Freya arrives at Mystic Falls near to the end of Commonwealth Day, embracing Hope who she now remembers thanks to Josie's spell. She embraces with Hope, who begins to cry after her conversation with Rafael.
Season Four[]
In We All Knew This Day Was Coming, Hope embraces Freya in a hug as they reunite. Around the room, she lights candles and notices the Hope's necklace that was given to her long ago. Hope says it feels like having her family close, always. Freya tells her that Rebekah, unfortunately, couldn't make it, but she enjoys a good dramatic entrance. Hope questions what it will feel like. Freya explains that Elijah described it to her once. At first, there's nothing, but then you slowly realize there's nothing. That's your consciousness reigniting, then light will trickle in and you'll open your eyes and you'll be back. Colors will be different, sounds will be fuller and she'll feel small movements of air on her skin. It can be overwhelming, but reassures her that she can handle it. There's nothing to worry about and muses she's only there for the birth of the one and only tribrid because of family bragging rights.
It is clear to Freya that Hope has worries, however, and she asks Hope about her thoughts. Hope remarks that there were wonderful parts of her father, but she worries that she may have all the other parts, too. Klaus used to say that the good came from her mother and believes she'll lose the good she has left. Freya reminds her that she is equal parts her mother and father and she would never disappear without a fight. People were afraid of her because they thought she would turn out like her father. Klaus was complicated and flawed and loyal and he would have let the world burn just to save the people he loved. But Hope is willing to let go of someone she loves to save innocent people that she'll never even meet. Freya thinks that she's already better than all of them and her parents would agree.
Freya tells Hope that she's so proud of her. The time has come, however. She tells her to close her eyes, focus her breath and Freya casts the spell. Hope's heartbeat begins to slow and she lays her niece gently on the pillow, holding her hand.
In Everything That Can Be Lost May Also Be Found, Freya joins Rebekah for Klaus' funeral and to attempt to bring Hope's humanity back. One day they'll meet under happier circumstances.
Hope is surprised by the intervention, noting they probably should have had one in the family before now. Rebekah and Freya are trying to be honest and implore her to do the same. Hope mocks her, retorting she now knows why her father daggered her all the time. Likewise, turning to Freya, she wonders if she feels guilty for being the one who killed her. Freya was only trying to respect her wishes and she believed she was strong enough to handle it. Hope tells her that she is strong enough, but Freya reminds her that being feared and being strong are two different things. Hope rhetorically asks if she was scared after she threatened the family, wondering if that's the reason her son is absent. Freya was, and still is, sad for her. Rebekah tells her that the Mikaelsons have done terrible things over the centuries and that they are very much the same. However, where they differ is that they've all come to realize that, no matter how powerful they are, their greatest strength is family. Her father made them see that. That is why Freya named her son after him, and the name he had given to her has meaning, too. Maybe she will understand that if she ever chooses to become a parent. Hope believes she doesn't get that choice, because it was taken from her when she turned; however, Freya and Rebekah believe otherwise, because Klaus was able to father a child with Hayley. It could be possible for her to conceive a child too, and they mean to bring her hope. Hope is overwhelmed with her aunts and walks out of Rousseau's.
Hope returns with Marcel. Rebekah and Freya have prepared a meal, having hoped that she's return. Hope doesn't plan to stay for dinner, believing that Vincent will lift the spell keeping her here. She's just come to say goodbye. Rebekah makes a face, revealing that he's told a story to Hope. As Freya sets an extra plate, Kol arrives just in time. Hope quips that he's late and she's tired of not being surprised. Regardless, he's happy to come to see his favorite niece because they need her help. Kol explains that they're trying to decide where to spread her father's ashes and they're bickering about what to do. The only solution they could agree upon was to leave it up to her. Hope accepts and immediately suggests tossing them in the garbage can, though Marcel deducts ten points. She doesn't care about his game and questions why this decision is up to her. Freya tells her that Kol speaks the truth. They don't know what to do without her. Likewise, Kol tells her that Klaus would have wanted it this way. Hope doesn't but Rebekah questions why she remains. Hope believes it's because Vincent's holding her hostage with the astral projection spell. However, Marcel explains that he's only anchoring the spell to New Orleans and she could have left anytime she wanted. Hope doesn't understand why she can't leave, but Freya tells her that it's because she doesn't really want to, at least not all of her. Rebekah advises that perhaps if she answered their question earnestly, then she'll be able to leave. Sitting down at the table, she takes a moment and gives her answer. Although it's a bit selfish, she knows that her father saw the entire world and New Orleans was his home. Before that was Mystic Falls and he built a school for her. If it was up to her, she'd want him with her so that she could find the perfect spot. That way, he could always be near. In the trees or on the breeze. Looking around to one another, Kol declares this is how it will be. Kol mentions that Davina was gutted when she couldn't come and suggests they could pay a visit, while Freya tells her that it will give them all an excuse to visit her more. They tell her they love her, always and forever. Hope questions if it worked because she's still here. They watch and share looks as she appears to interact with her humanity.
Personality[]
As a child, Freya was mischievous as she and Finn would climb up in the trees and plot mischief. Freya has exhibited an independent, tenacious, rebellious streak, as she fled from her monstrous Aunt Dahlia centuries before and has been fighting, running from her for years ever since. She has a very stoic personality, keeping a calm, difficult to read, expression at near all times. Freya has shown to be a curious person, having wondered about her siblings, the Mikaelsons, for some time. Upon meeting them but having lived in contempt of her aunt Dahlia for the abuse and terror she endured at Dahlia's hands and for her mother Esther for abandoning her. When she learned that Klaus had a child, the only sign of her shock was to grab hold of her necklace. Likewise, she showed little surprise upon seeing Finn's new form, and remained calm even while reminiscing about old times, and telling him of Dahlia's hunt for her. Freya is tough, independent, she is a skilled actress, having convinced everyone in the Cottage that she was like any other inmate, but in truth, she is a strong, powerful woman and witch who is very much in control of herself. Upon finally meeting and introducing herself to her family, Freya seemingly has a firm sense of honor, as she killed Cassie for betraying Rebekah to the Kindred. She has a fondness for her little sister and approves of who she is, having observed her throughout her stay in the Cottage and when Rebekah was in danger, Freya showed no hesitation in protecting her. She has also shown a fondness for Finn, as he was the next of the Mikaelson clan she visited. She seems to have some nostalgia for him, as she embraced him upon meeting. Upon meeting Klaus and Elijah, she expected, humored their caution, suspicion (abrasiveness in Klaus' case) but warned Rebekah she'll be expecting that they would be on their best behavior. This shows that she has a sense of authority, being the eldest of the Mikaelson children. Freya seemingly has a degree of morality as she sealed Finn's spirit into her pendant so that he wouldn't lay a hand on Hope, believing that he would not resort to threatening an infant, though she did perform a powerful locator spell to find her in a gambit to earn her siblings' trust. She is very fond of her father and has never forgotten the last time she saw him, patiently awaiting the moment she reunites with Mikael. However, she has significant disdain for Esther, as she resents her mother for giving her away and blames Esther for destroying her and her siblings. This hatred only worsened when Esther claimed that Freya lost the light within her and accused her of working with Dahlia. Upon revealing her background, Freya is a haunted, tortured soul longing to free herself of the bonds that Dahlia cast upon her and attain vengeance for the misery that she dealt with century after century. Having lost the man she loves and her beloved unborn son in Dahlia's pursuit of ultimate power, she allies with her estranged siblings in the hopes of vanquishing her aunt once and for all. The damage that Freya suffered caused her to become a methodical and cunning individual, using the spell to save Rebekah as an opportunity to reach into Klaus' mind and learn his secrets. However, she showed little interest in what secrets were in her brother's mind, casually brushing them off as of little use to her. She even accepted the fact that Klaus will never trust her and instead opts to turn their siblings against him one by one and killed Esther in vengeance for abandoning her and to make sure Klaus doesn't find out. Dahlia's return brought out the fear in Freya and she appealed to her siblings to help her save Mikael and Klaus from her aunt's wrath. Then, we see Freya in utter anguish and heartbreak as Klaus kills Mikael so his ashes could be used as a weapon to murder Dahlia. She held this against Klaus so much that she gave an ultimatum to Elijah and Rebekah to either side with her or lose her if they choose their half-brother. Freya's desperation became clear when she resolved to use Hope as bait against Dahlia, something that made her family question her motives. Though she was forced into becoming the bait to lure Dahlia into a trap, Freya took it with her head held high. She explained that her actions were due to jealousy of Hope for having people who would go to extreme lengths to protect her and Freya not knowing what it is like. She willingly goes along with Elijah's plan, happy to have known what having a family is like for a brief moment rather than spending an eternity running and in solitude. She had a disparaging view of Klaus, questioning why Rebekah would still defend him after he joined Dahlia in the pursuit of Hope. However, when faced with the prospect of having to kill her younger brother to end Dahlia, she admitted that she doesn't want to and that Klaus was the family she always wanted but because of Dahlia she'll be forever alone. In the end, she chose to remain by Klaus' side to care for Hope while giving Rebekah the opportunity she had only regained recently - the chance to choose her own fate. Over the past 6 months, in the light of Dahlia's defeat, Freya has integrated herself with the family, and they with her. She has taken an active role in caring for Hope and grown fond of her niece, delighted at how quickly Hope has grown. She also does her best to keep Klaus and Elijah in line whenever they quarrel. Freya wastes no time in enjoying the freedom she has found after eliminating the threat of her aunt, Dahlia. She spends her night off partying at Rousseau's, dancing on the bar table and downing a couple of drinks. Her party-going and promiscuous tendencies are her way of coping with the increasing tensions in her family. Freya has also shown a capacity for concern to those not of her blood, as she held Jackson back from interfering in the squabble between Hayley and Klaus. She openly grieved when she learned of Jackson's death. With tears in her eyes, she couldn't even look at his heart when she received it from a compelled tourist along with Tristan's letter. Freya later proved to be capable of caring quite deeply about others outside her family as she constantly feared for the safety of Keelin and attempted to keep her at arm's length and away from the hostile situation that the Mikaelsons found themselves in. Freya has been seen to be reliable, determined, and fierce whenever things get difficult for her and her family. She is not above taking the initiative of handling things her way and would silence those who would oppose her, as she did with Lucien. She is also one of the more reasonable Mikaelsons, as she went behind Klaus' back by releasing Cami and having her join in on the plan that eventually neutralized Tristan de Martel, also showing her capacity for laying out successful strategies. She has also proven to be stubborn, as her sole motive was to save her family even when she knew that would put someone else in danger. She took Davina down because she saw it as the only way to save her family, despite the consequences. Freya has shown she can be just as manipulative and cruel as Klaus in order to protect the ones she loves, even at a high price. Freya's kind and family-oriented personality are widely displayed when she, even when weakened due to being previously poisoned, cast a pseudo-immortality spell on the rest of her siblings while using her half-brother as the anchor. In addition to that, she created a Chambre de Chasse so that all of the slumbering Mikaelsons would be together awaiting Hayley to come back with cures for her daughter's family. However, like Elijah, Freya's loyalty to her family supersedes all as she is more than willing to hurt or sacrifice others to save her family, despite the many lifetimes the Mikaelsons have gotten to live. Ultimately Freya has an almost black and white view of things, especially when it comes to those she views as enemies, not caring about reasons, motives or how grey the situation actually is, for example, while Cassie did betray Rebekah, she was broken and traumatized by her possession at the hands of Esther and thus not of sound mind. Another example is Marcel, who had his reasons for going up against the Mikaelsons and despite eventually allowing them to leave unharmed and with no intention of coming after them, Freya still wanted him dead simply for existing as a potential threat and created a dagger specifically to kill him. |
Physical Appearance[]
- Main article: Freya Mikaelson/Appearance
Freya, as a child, had curly blonde hair and green eyes. When she appeared in the Abattoir for the Christmas party in 1914, she is a very beautiful young woman of high stature and a slender build, carrying herself with grace and tact. As she slept for 100 years, she would appear to Rebekah as a girl wearing a black dress and her long, dirty blonde hair covering her face with a peculiar necklace in her hands. Upon waking up, she was seen wearing clothes like any other female inmate of the cottage, messy and unkempt. She tied her hair into a braid while letting her side bangs frame her face.
Not long after she escaped the Cottage, Freya's look changed drastically. She appeared to Finn in more modern, darker clothing and wearing make-up. She has let her long dirty blonde hair flow freely and has her pendant around her neck. 6 months after ending the threat of Dahlia, Freya's hair had been cut to shoulder length.
Powers and Abilities[]
While Freya was still a child, Dahlia used a brand of Connective Magic which allowed her to draw power from Freya while allowing Freya's power to be augmented. During her early life, Freya experienced difficulties controlling her magic as a result of her maternal lineage, as first-born witches of Dahlia and Esther's bloodline possess devastating amounts of power from a young age. As a result of her heritage, she had the greatest amount of magical potential compared to her other siblings prior to their transformation into vampires. Freya used to experience episodes when her magic would overwhelm her to the point of creating powerful storms and causing all birds in the area to die, usually when she was overcome by strong emotions such as anger and frustration. During these lapses of control, Dahlia used to sing to her whilst hugging her to calm her down and to lower her heart rate.
Some time later in her young adult life, Dahlia enchanted Freya with a curse that forced her to sleep for a hundred years while amassing an abundant amount of magic and power. Unfortunately, the effects of the curse only allow Freya to be awake and live for a single year before the cycle was repeated. During this period, she would be functionally immortal via a strong protection spell. This is ultimately proven when Freya ingested Dahlia's strongest batch of poison and having her neck snapped by Klaus. With these enhancements, Freya became more powerful than any conventional witch as she was "Immortal" and still able to perform magic that had been augmented for a hundred years.
While under Dahlia's spell, Freya had proven herself to be an extremely powerful witch, though still feared her aunt, demonstrating the ability to communicate with her sister, Rebekah, through dreams and visions even while she was still technically in her century-long sleep that granted her pseudo-immortality, though she was only days from waking up at the time. She has also shown an affinity for telekinetic spells, including being able to move multiple heavy objects without touching them, even in a state of deep slumber. Since her revival, Freya has exhibited a noteworthy amount of power and skill. She was able to take down multiple members of the Kindred, and later murdered the Harvest girl, Cassie, as punishment for her treachery. With the aid of her talisman, Freya healed Rebekah's broken hand with a non-verbal spell and later accelerated the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Her power is most evidenced after breaking the spell over the Fauline Cottage's doors that has kept countless witches imprisoned for decades with sheer magical force.
Freya was also able to locate her brother, Finn Mikaelson, in spite of being hidden with a cloaking spell. She was also able to locate her niece, Hope, a feat that Rebekah claimed could only be accomplished with the power of a hundred witches. However, after locating Hope, Freya gave Finn her pendant for protection and subsequently killed by their siblings. After his "death" (in Vincent's body), Freya talisman protected his soul from moving on while she healed and resurrect Vincent (who was Finn's host). She would later remove Finn's spirit from the vessel he inhabited, storing him within her talisman yet again.
Freya was able to awaken her desiccated father with a spell that required a minimal amount of blood. Uniquely she performed a non-verbal pain infliction spell by augmenting the frequency of her whistling to the point that it caused Aiden severe pain. Given the sheer amount of magic she possessed, she was able to break apart the cursed shackles that were meant to prevent a witch from using their powers and then instantaneously subdued Klaus by snapping his neck with telekinesis. She would later use a spell of Esther's creation to reach inside Eva Sinclair's mind while drawing on Elijah, and then Klaus, as anchors to mentally project Marcel and Vincent with her subconscious in the hopes of bringing Rebekah back. She even enchanted a dagger so Vincent could bring it with him on the journey. Another testament to her augmented magic was when she destroyed Esther (who was possessing Lenore's body) with a metamorphosis spell while drawing on her talisman and touching her mother's host's forehead. In doing so, she caused Lenore's body to transform into a few dozen starlings that died shortly after the transformation.
Freya tried a spell with Rebekah to locate Dahlia, and would have succeeded had Rebekah not gained a vision of Dahlia channeling Freya from tactile contact with her. Freya was also knowledgeable in Dahlia's slumber spell and how to reverse it i.e. to bind the three sources of Dahlia's weaknesses (sacred soil from her homeland of Norway, the ashes of her Viking oppressors, and Esther's, not her own, blood of the person that broke Dahlia's heart) in order to create a weapon that would render her killable. in doing so, she had Mikael collect the ingredients she needed and ultimately adapted the spell, twice, in order to kill her.
Freya's skill in locator spells is evident when she managed to locate Hope in the Bayou in hopes of using her as bait against Dahlia. She also easily located the hidden White Oak Stake by using a toothpick in a glass of bourbon to pinpoint its location. She used the same ingredients meant to kill Dahlia in a spell that allowed her to create a "killing field" in the Abattoir that will render Dahlia powerless once she steps foot on it. Freya also easily subdued Marcel, a two-century-old vampire and kept him at bay, via telekinesis. While unable to fight Dahlia's magic directly, Freya easily disrupted Dahlia's spell as soon as the latter's magic was temporarily weakened by the cursed shackles, i.e. by removing the white-oak-dust particles from within her siblings via telekinesis, by causing them to cough up the ashes. Later on, Freya resorted Eva Sinclair's dead body and gave Rebekah the option to inhabit it again, to which she agreed and Freya transferred her spirit into the vessel
Since the death of Dahlia in Ashes to Ashes, Freya has had many of her spells and rituals result in failure, implying that the colossal amounts of power she previously possessed disappeared with Dahlia's death as prior to Dahlia's death she had succeeded in most if not all the spells she had cast, though this has not been stated. Her pseudo-immortality was also reversed with Dahlia's death as was confirmed on several occasions and with it, the Slumber Spell. It is, however, possible that Freya still has her massive power though is unable to use it to its full extent, this is due to the possibility of over-exhaustion due to her newly-gained mortality. Neither has been confirmed, though Freya is still able to channel large amounts of power, such as channeling her siblings. Despite this, Freya was still seen to exhibit magical feats that put her very much ahead of conventional witches. Freya cast a spell that allowed her to send her letter to her younger sister, Rebekah, something a number of witches in the past had done, however, she did it by reaching out to the magic she possessed while possessing Eva. This variant is unique as it did not use fire as a medium but, instead, it makes the letter vanish into thin air. Freya has shown the ability to not only astral project within the same city, but to also to very distant locations. She displayed this after performing a locator spell on Rebekah, and then visiting her in astral from New Orleans to Africa. In the same episode, the eldest Mikaelson sibling cast a spell (while in astral form) that simultaneously snapped the necks of all vampires surrounding her, proving she is a force to be reckoned with. Later on, Freya tried to cast an offensive spell on Aya, but was countered by the Moroccan Witch who telekinetically pushed Freya and sent her back to her body in New Orleans. It seemed that Freya couldn't save her sister simply because the Moroccan witch had the element of surprise, which ensured she was the only witch who's power could work in that specific environment. Her pain infliction spells are more than powerful enough to give Aurora, a thousand-year-old vampire, major headaches, even though Aurora has built an immunity towards pain infliction due to her stay in the Buddhist monastery. This kind of spell also proved to be quite useful in her many encounters with a number of Strix vampires. Given her instructions under Dahlia, Freya has shown more knowledge in magical affairs when she revealed that a mixture of hibiscus and mugwort is able to counteract any vervain in a person's system. This was confirmed on Tristan who had been consuming vervain for a long time and was immune to any kind of compulsion from an Original. With such a concoction, she made sure that Elijah would be able to compel his progeny without any obstacles, even casting a boundary spell on him to would prevent him from leaving. Freya's knowledge of magic is very extensive, that is effective in aiding her siblings, such as Rebekah, as she attempted to remove the curse put on her with the cursed stake, though she was severely weakened with a special poison from the Strix. With the help of her brother, by channeling Finn's power, using the stake's reversal spell inscribed on the blade, she was able to remove the curse, though it proved to temporary. Despite her prowess, Freya has easily been overpowered and defeated by witches who have had less than a thousand years of experience than she does, like Alexis (who was a Seer and saw her coming, though), the Moroccan Witch, affiliated with the Strix, and Vincent Griffith, the Regent of the New Orleans witch community. However, she was almost killed by two members of the Strix, lesser vampires than the original vampires and the original hybrid, if it had not been for the intervention of Jackson, she also was unable to locate Rebekah's exact location even while using Elijah's blood. Despite her talents with spells and rituals, many of Freya's locator spells have resulted in failure, such as searching for Rebekah, Aurora and Camille, all cloaked by the powerful witches in their own right; the Moroccan Witch, Madison, and Vincent (as Regent) respectively. Seemingly this is due to a lack in power as, while channeling powerful sources, she's been able to accomplish powerful spells, one such example being when she channeled Lucien in order to forcefully project herself into the Chambre de Chasse created by the Sisters. Once inside the Chambre, she was able to destroy the totems that bound them there. Freya, with Kol's guidance, was able to cast a spell that located all of Klaus' enemies around the world and tracked their movements, which allowed them to learn that Klaus is being hunted. In response to this, Freya enlisted Kol's help once more to cast a spell that masked Klaus' presence, making anyone looking for him think that he was still in New Orleans. Another unique feat, she was able to create a barrier between her and Lucien, the newly turned Beast, in order to Finn, Elijah, Vincent, and Matt. Unlike other boundary spells, this was a non-verbal variant that did not use sigils or the bounds of a room to enact, just a hand sign. Later, created a sigil that allowed her to bind, weaken, and inflict excruciating pain (as to boil the blood) on Lucien Castle. While restrained she attempted to cast a spell to rip out his heart however, both spells failed due to the intervention of the Ancestors. In an attempt to rescue and resurrect Davina, Freya summoned Davina's spirit and bound it to the mortal plane while using a Hand of Glory and channeling Elijah. In order to obtain the magic she needed to reverse the spell that created Lucien, she forcefully channeled Davina in order to tap into the collective ancestral magic of the Ancestors. This spell, however, came at the expense of breaking the boundary that held Davina's spirit, as she served as the connection between the Ancestors and Freya. With this additional, yet stolen magic, she was able to reverse the spell that turned Lucien into the Beast, thus turning him back into an ordinary vampire again. Later, before the ancestral magic dissipated from her, she channeled Alexis' remains in order to re-forecast her prophecy about the Beast. While doing so, she remarked that she barely understood her power and that, even her augmented magic, she was overwhelmed; she claimed that there were too many pieces of the vision and they would fade whenever she got close to something. With Elijah's help, she was able to channel the full prophecy as well as share the vision with him. Freya, looking for a way to save her family quickly and uniquely, adapts two ancient spells to save her siblings. In order for her spell to work, she utilized Esther's linking spell, binding each sibling, including herself, to Klaus, while she replicated her Aunt Dahlia's immortality slumber spell. She also took a page from Finn's spell book and drew everyone, save Klaus, into a Chambre de Chasse, so that they could be a family while slumbering, in order to escape death (while Klaus lived and suffered). That was the only way to save herself and the others until Hayley found a cure for their ailments. The slumber spell acts as a protection against all forms of harm; therefore, Elijah and Kol would not die from Marcel's bite, Freya would not succumb to a fatal toxin and Rebekah would not suffer from the insanity hex. After being awakened from her five-year-long slumber, she continued to perform noteworthy feats of channeling magic. Using her own power, augmented through the use of five dark objects, she managed to create two doses of anti-venom, with the venom from the seven werewolf packs and Klaus' blood, to counteract Marcel's Beast Venom. While her magic was amplified she performed one of the most powerful uses of Pain infliction where she impaired a vampire's ability to heal to the point where it fatally wounded him. Another instance was when she attempted to deconstruct Vincent's spell or to breach it with brute magical strength, she chose the latter by channeling Hayley. She managed to temporarily breach the boundary spell, for mere moments and freed her brother. She continues to excel with channeling as utilized a totem representing the Hollow, in order to channel it and find out what the Hollow was planning to do with her brother and Marcel. Again, she would channel Elijah to break a powerful boundary spell, that with her first attempt was unable to break on her own. This continues to show the stark contrast to her magical strength as from when she was linked to Dahlia as she could not outright destroy this spell, like she did on the boundary spell placed on the dowager's mansion. Freya also continues to demonstrate her prowess in locator spells and, though she could not pinpoint him outside the city of New Orleans, could still sense Klaus' presence. Freya continues to showcase her in-depth knowledge of magic as she was able to develop an enchantment capable of killing Marcel by combining her blood, Esther's magic, Marcel's venom and Lucien Castle's ashes. She is also well versed in "old magic", as stated by Dominic, when she linked a boundary spell to the beat of her heart. Freya casts an illusion spell on Josh and, unlike the previous spell she and Vincent performed, this glamour spell was physically harmful as the spell took effect. She also devised an intricate spell to disempower and to bind Dominic to a small location in order to torture and gain information from him, going as far to break his protection spells and access his mind. She also uniquely used telekinesis to cause cardiac arrest on Dominic (something that proved to be a reversal of fortune). After her temporary death, she used representational magic to reestablish a protection spell around the Abattoir, ensuring that if she died, the spell could persist. As the Hollow began to sacrifice Elijah, Freya attempted to call his spirit into her Talisman, like she previously did for Finn. However, during the magical struggle, the Hollow's magic began to block Freya's spell and in the process caused her Talisman (and Elijah's mind, his spirit which was successfully saved) to shatter. With his mind fractured, she devised a spell from her mother's Mind Breaching Spell that allowed her to enter the Talisman and Elijah's mind in an attempt to find and heal his mind. However, maintaining the spell and searching for Elijah proved to be too much of a strain and she lost hold of the spell. By channeling Hope she sent Hayley into Elijah's mind, and later sent Hope, and together, they managed to locate Elijah in his memories and, with Hope, restored his mind and her talisman. Freya appears to have a wide range of knowledge over many types of magic (i.e. Dark and Sacrificial) and practices (i.e. Representational), both old and conventional forms. She was able to immediately recognize the Hollow's Bone-Bound Boundary spell and knew how to counter it. Freya also recognized that the Hollow was utilizing a totem that augmented her power, mentioning that Dahlia had used them as well when she was up to something particularly awful. Despite the spell she cast to repair Elijah's mind and to restore her talisman, it soon thereafter began to crack. Freya tells Klaus and Hayley that he needed to be resurrected that night, otherwise, they would lose him forever. She channeled the death of the Hollow, as well as Klaus, and successfully healed and resurrected Elijah, his soul returning to his Original body; healed completely of the poison from the enchanted thornbush. Despite her wide range of knowledge and access to her mother's grimoire collection, she was unable to find a loophole to Vincent plan of separating the Hollow into her immortal siblings. As Vincent's spell ultimately worked, she remains adamant in remaining in New Orleans studying the Hollow's magic, searching for a way to reunite her siblings. |
Weaknesses[]
Freya was a pseudo-immortal witch, twice, when she was linked to her Aunt Dahlia and recently to Klaus. After Dahlia's death, Freya lost her pseudo-immortality and had the typical weaknesses of a witch. Following the current events in the lives of her family, she was linked to her half-brother, Klaus, the anchor to her spell. Upon her awakening, the spell has been broken and again possesses all the standard weaknesses of a witch.
Relationships[]
Dahlia[]
- Main article: Freya and Dahlia
The relationship between Dahlia and Freya has been strained and complicated for nearly a thousand years. In an attempt to have children, Esther Mikaelson was forced to give Freya to Dahlia in exchange for Dahlia helping Esther birth other children. For the next several centuries, Dahlia and Freya were together. Freya felt as if she was a prisoner to Dahlia after slumbering for every hundred years just to have a year of life, in order to gain more magical power. Freya finally decided in Season Two that she was tired of living under Dahlia and she defected to the side of her Mikaelson siblings. Dahlia felt betrayed by this action when they reunited after slumbering in isolation for nearly a century. However, after Freya helps her siblings kill Dahlia and Esther, Freya was able to live a normal, free life as a witch without Dahlia's forced servitude.
Finn Mikaelson[]
- Main article: Freya and Finn
Ever since childhood, Finn and Freya have shared a close relationship for nearly centuries. Finn originally thought that Freya was dead, and he mourned for her still even after not seeing her for centuries. However, after awakening from a century's slumber, Freya reunites herself with Finn while he was in Vincent Griffith's body. After seeing how Finn attempted to kill Hope Mikaelson, she locked his soul away in a talisman to keep him from hurting the family or himself. During the third season, Freya was able to resurrect Finn and reunite him with the rest of their family. However, Finn is shortly killed by Lucien Castle and currently, Freya mourns her brother's loss with the rest of her siblings.
Niklaus Mikaelson[]
- Main article: Klaus and Freya
The relationship between Freya and Klaus started rocky. Klaus mistrusted her the first moment he met her, even after Freya proved to be who she said she was. As revenge for Klaus mistreating her badly, she promised to make the rest of the Mikaelson siblings turn against Klaus, which is successful being Klaus attempts to prove himself to his siblings. However, after Freya is forced to try to kill Klaus and Marcel, she states in near-tears that she doesn't want to kill either of them. After Dahlia's death, Klaus finally accepts Freya as his half-sister and they become close as siblings, especially in Season Three.
Keelin[]
- "Freya: I kept thinking about everything that I didn't tell you... Everything that I feel for you.
Keelin: What is it that you feel about me, Freya Mikaelson?" - —Freya and Keelin in Voodoo Child
Initially, the relationship between Freya and Keelin was originally that of a Warden and her Prisoner since Freya needed Keelin's venom to make the cure to Marcel's bite that would kill members of her family. While captive, they became friends while they worked together to create a weapon that would be able to kill Marcel. With the completion of the weapon, the pair grew closer, hanging out and opening up to each other, eventually developing feelings for each other. After Freya's brush with death, she admitted her feelings and kissed Keelin. Later, the Hollow enters Freya's mind and capitalizes on her greatest fear, which was Keelin dying and the latter's blood on her hands. This prompted Freya to talk to Keelin about how much she really does care for her, which leads to the relationship becoming sexual.
After seven years when the Mikaelsons separated from each other with a piece each of the Hollow's soul, Freya and Keelin are still together. However, they are in a somewhat long distance relationship with Freya remaining in New Orleans trying to find a way to reunite her siblings and with Keelin away from the United States aiding others in need of medical attention. After a brief breakup during the last season, Freya and Keelin reunite at Hayley's funeral and decide to make time for each other despite not being together anymore. However, Freya realizes that she cannot live without Keelin by her side and asks Keelin to marry her. Both in tears of joy, Keelin accepts Freya's marriage proposal and they share an intimate moment together. On their wedding day, Freya makes the sudden decision to not have children with Keelin because of her fear of what would happen to their future child. This alarms and hurts Keelin deeply, but after having a talk with Rebekah, Freya tearfully accepts to have a future family with Keelin. The two then marry as planned and become wives. At the end of the series, Freya first asks Vincent to be the biological father of their future baby. At first he says "no," but later changes his mind. Freya and Keelin are last seen embracing Vincent crying tears of joy that they have the chance at a raising a family altogether.

Name[]
- Freya is a feminine name of Nordic origin (freɪə). The name means "lady". It stems from Norse mythology, Freyja the goddess of love, beauty, war, and death.[2] (In Ancient Norse: ᚠᚱᛖᛃᚨ ᛗᛁᚲᚨᛖᛚᛋᛟᚾ).
- If Freya was to truly follow Norse traditions, her surname should technically be Mikaelsdotter (daughter of Mikael) as oppose to Mikaelson (son of Mikael).
