Plot[]
A couple drives a car when a man appears on the road and they hit him. The stop the car and try to help them, but the other man appears behind them. Damon and Enzo take the couple to the warehouse and show them the bodies they're keeping there. They compel the couple to tell them their worst secrets. Damon concludes that the guy has the worst secret and as his reward, his death will be more painful. Enzo kills the girl by draining her, while Damon feeds the guy to a creature in the pool.
Bonnie recaps the summer in Elena's diary: The gang still has no leads on Damon and Enzo, Stefan and Caroline are together, Alaric is running The Armory and has an intern Dorian while Josie and Lizzie have a babysitter Seline.
Dorian and his colleague Georgie discover secret parts in the Armory's vault and show it to Alaric. The cover his eyes with a blindfold because the only way to that part is if the senses are isolated. They soon find a room full of things from ancient times including a journal and a skeleton they nickname "Harvey".
Seline brings Lizzie and Josie to Caroline's work. Later, while the girls are at home with Seline, Virginia St. John attacks her and cuts her neck. Caroline, who was on the phone with Seline, arrives quickly and attacks Virginia and knocks her down. Seline is wounded, but alive. Caroline compels her to forget about everything and questions Virginia about the monster in the Vault. Virginia bites off her tongue and bleeds to death.
When the police find the girl's body, Bonnie and Stefan follow a lead which brings them to Damon and Enzo's warehouse. Stefan concludes that Damon flipped his humanity switch off. Both Bonnie and Stefan start losing hope and decide to leave.
Bonnie remembers a conversation about the sirens with Enzo and comes to the conclusion that the monster may be a siren - creatures who lure their victims by using mind control.
