She has a brother named Joshua and a sister named Heidi (who died in 1994 of a malignant heart tumor). Melinda graduated from Dana Hills High School in Dana Point, California with the Class of 1987. Was in the Drama Club and took part in school productions. At the age of 18 she moved to L.A. and launched her career in acting and modeling. She now has a daughter named Catherine Grace, who was born in early 2000.
