Misao was a character of The Vampire Diaries novel series. She was a magical fox spirit and the twin sister of Shinichi.

Appearance

In her human form, Misao looks like a pretty young Asian girl with long black hair, scarlet all around the tips, and black eyes. While in her fox form, she has more than six tails and black and scarlet fur. Both she and her brother can change into any shape that they want.

Personality

She is spoiled and arrogant.

Name

Misao is the Japanese origin, and the meaning is "Fidelity".

The Return Series

In the beginning of The Return: Nightfall, she appeared in Caroline's mirror in the form of the girl's reflection, and used her bad feelings for Elena to make them sign a contract, which enabled Caroline to get her revenge on Elena and Stefan. In Caroline's mirror, Misao pretended to be Shinichi and also promised to be together with her. Misao possessed Caroline with malach, and used her to spread the virus-like creatures in the town, mostly among the young girls. Under their influence, the girls did terrible things to themselves, like home made piercings and offering sex to the older boys, like the case with Matt. Despite the fact that they're siblings, Misao has a passionate and sexual attachment to her brother, Shinichi, and they even shared a hot and intimate kiss in the scene where they lured Bonnie, Meredith, Matt, Dr. Alpert and Mrs. Flowers into the woods.

She and her brother died at the end of The Return: Midnight after saying that they regret taking the mission to destroy Fell's Church.
