Season Two[]
In As I Lay Dying, the Movie in the Square was organized by the town with many residents in attendance, which also featured a small picnic. Elena, Jeremy, Bonnie and Caroline were among those in attendance. Before the movie started, Stefan came and told Elena that Damon had been bitten by Tyler, meaning that he could lose his life given the toxicity of a werewolf bite to vampires.
Later, Damon escaped and hallucinated that Katherine was nearby. Jeremy found him and brought him to the Mystic Grill, with Sheriff Forbes arriving not long after. She aimed at Damon to shoot him, but he quickly ran away and the bullet hit Jeremy. Leaving the Grill, he found Elena and tried to drink her blood, however collapsed on the ground instead. Jeremy died, but was brought back to life by Bonnie, gaining the ability to talk to ghosts upon his return from the dead.

While they setup for the movie, MG spies on Lizzie from afar until he is found out by Kaleb.
Eventually the setup is complete and the volunteers and townspeople gather to watch the 1933 King Kong film. Lizzie, Ethan, Kaleb and MG's time at the movie, however, is cut short when Ryan appears and attacks the former two while possessed by a dybbuk. The latter two split up to so MG could take Ethan back to the Salvatore School and Kaleb go in search of Lizzie after she is kidnapped by the dybbuk.
