- L.J. Smith is writing the books, she was fired from the tv series not books, she OWNS the books how could they fire her from that?
- Alloy was able to fire L.J.Smith from writing any Vampire Diaries after Midnight because of a "work for hire" clause in her first contract for TVD back in the 90's. That means they can hire whomever they want to continue the series. The books will still say "Created by L.J. Smith," but she did not write them.
