The Vampire Diaries Official Convention is a part of Creation Entertainment, which was founded in 1971 by Gary Berman and Adam Malin, two young teenage sci-fi fans in New York, Creation Entertainment continues an over 40 year tradition of producing the world's leading conventions for fans of genre television and film.

TVD Chicago Convention 2012 took place in Chicago from April 14–15.
- Originally Ian Somerhalder was planned to attend. On February 24. He said that he will be unable to, David Anders (John Gilbert), Katerina Graham (Bonnie), and Malese Jow (Anna) replaced him.

As they say, all good things must come to an end. We've had an incredible run with our Vampire Diaries and Originals family, giving the amazing fans many unique and exciting opportunities to see and interact with all their favorite stars from the two series.
