In The Descent, while preparing for the barbecue, Caroline talks with Tyler, asking how he was feeling following his first full moon. Though she wants to celebrate the small victories, she ends up explaining that one werewolf bite can kill a vampire. Before having to explain further, Matt interrupted them. Caroline and Matt talk before sharing a kiss together.
Later, one of Sheriff Forbes deputies finds a body on the school grounds; another vampire attack. With Damon present, they secure the area and move the party into the school's cafeteria.
