A little weapon your frenemy Josie helped create today. Now my consciousness will transfer into the next person I cut.

The Trident was initially a mystical object with unknown attributes, which allowed Josie Saltzman to bind the mind, body, and spirit of "Simulandon" with a spell using black magic. The trident, however, was reforged and imbued with dark magic, creating a dark object, when Josie was tricked by Ryan Clarke. The new found properties would allow him to transfer his consciousness into another person when another person was scratched.

Agatha St. Clair replicated the spell and created a new trident for Aurora de Martel. The second trident allowed her to transfer consciouses between two people, thus inhabiting each others bodies.

Description[]

The Trident is a three-pronged, handheld trident with a twisted base made from unknown metal, though it appears gold or silver in color. When activated, the three prongs glow purple.

Throughout Legacies Series[]

Season Two[]

In It Will All Be Painfully Clear Soon Enough, the trident was given to Josie by Ryan Clarke, magically disguised as Headmaster Vardemus. It was a mystical object, initially with unknown attributes, which Josie used to bind the mind, body, and spirit of "Simulandon" with a spell using black magic under Professor Vardemus' direction. He would then get Josie to unknowingly turn the trident into a dark object. He gave her another spell, one that would let her channel all her rage, sadness, everything into the trident. The spell would transfer all the dark energy right out of her. Now a dark object, it held the power to transfer one's consciousness into the next person that the trident cut, provided oneself was cut first. Ryan intended to use the object to transfer his consciousness into Hope's body to oppose his father, Malivore, however, Simulandon used it on himself to save Hope, knowing that his body would disintegrate within a day.

Season Three[]

In Goodbyes Sure Do Suck, Hope and Lizzie had an idea that would potentially save Rafael. If Lizzie modified and reforged the Trident, then a siphon like her can use it with her siphoning power to transfer energy instead of someone's consciousness. Specifically, it would have been Landon's phoenix energy which would have resulted in him becoming human and mortal. However, after Lizzie attempted to perform the spell by siphoning Landon, she discovered that Landon had no magic and his phoenix part was felled by the Golden Arrow.

Season Four[]

In You Will Remember Me, Aurora de Martel had a second trident created by Agatha St. Clair who had been watching Hope for a very long time. Aurora had the trident cloaked, made to resemble Papa Tunde's Blade, and tricked Hope into stabbing her with the dark object, resulting in their consciousnesses swapping bodies. With Aurora now in Hope's body, as a tribrid, and Hope in Aurora's vampire body, Hope had no choice but to flee.

In I Can't Be the One to Stop You, seemingly with her humanity back on, Lizzie can't believe that Hope was tricked with the trident. Hope admits that she was reckless and attempts to apologize, but Lizzie wants to wait. Lizzie is honest with her. When Josie told her that she didn't think she was too far gone, she didn't believe her. Regardless, she doesn't know why she was the one that got to bring her back, but she's happy she did. Lizzie drops the illusion spell, prepared for Hope to stab Aurora and get her body back. She tells Lizzie that once she has her body back, she'll tell her something only she would know. Opening the sarcophagus, she stabs Aurora with the trident and regains her body. Hope steps out of the sarcophagus, telling her it worked. Panda promise. Aurora also awakens as they embrace each other in a hug. She tells Lizzie that she can't trust Hope. Once a Mikaelson, always a Mikaelson. Aurora pushes down a support beam and some of the floor collapses as she makes her escape.
