Walt is a human who first appeared in the eighth episode of the second season of Legacies. He is the biological father of Rafael Waithe.
Early History
Not much is known about Walt's history. He had met Lucia while they were both serving in Afghanistan and fell in love with her.

Season Two
In This Christmas Was Surprisingly Violent, Rafael Waithe and Landon Kirby find themselves on Walt's property when following a map of Rafael's lineage. They are confronted by Walt, who reveals that he is aware Rafael is a werewolf. Having figured out that Rafael is his son due to his physical characteristics Walt reveals information about Lucia, his ex-partner and Rafael's mother also a werewolf.
When night falls, Walt offers to give Rafael a ride back to the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted, however Rafael decides against leaving that night, and questions if it would be alright for him to sleep at Walt's place and catch the first bus the following morning, to which Walt agrees.
Season Three
In Goodbyes Sure Do Suck, he's brought to the Salvatore School by Jed. He's heard that Rafael had come by looking for him and missed him earlier. He tells him that he's here now and not going anywhere and embraces him in a deep hug. He asks if there is anything he can do for him. Rafael tells him to keep doing what he's doing now.
Walt continues to stay by his side until morning. Hope and Lizzie have come up with a solution and they send Rafael to the 2028 prison world. There, Walt appears and asks how he's feeling. Rafael tells him that he's feeling better than he has and asks if this is Heaven. Walt tells him that it depends on his definition and explains that his friends had found another way to save him and his headmaster had found someone. Lucia enters his dorm room. Walt begins to introduce her as his mom, but Rafael already knows and embraces her in a tight hug. Rafael wonders if this is even real and Walt tells him that his friends can explain it better and that they're downstairs, waiting for him.
Walt, Lucia and Rafael reunite as a family and return to Walt's cabin. They're preparing to go fishing and Rafael asks if they're sure they still want to do this with him. He was already living like a hermit, so life in the prison world will suit him just fine. Lucia returns the sentiment. Considering this world is on repeat without a full moon, it's an upgrade. They're all in this, together.
Personality
He is seen being calm, but cautious as he confronted Rafael and Landon. He showed hospitality and a kind demeanor as he was talking to the two boys.
Physical Appearance
He has a tall stature and medium build, wearing a sleeveless beige jacket, blue jeans and a dark green plaid shirt. He has dark brown eyes and shaved black hair.

- Walt is a masculine given name, usually a short form of Walter. It is derived from the Old High German Walthari, composed of the elements walt-(Proto-Germanic wald) "rule", "brightness" and hari (Proto-Germanic χarja) "army".[1][2]
